December Booster Pack & A New Jumping On Point For New Fans

Some breaking news from Tom’s fed where he has announced the following:

(On a somewhat related note, I discussed putting together a new package deal for a recent jumping on point for COTG for loyal promoters that have fallen behind and newcomers to get caught up in the current era without buying the ten or so sets that would be needed. ORIGINS 2136 would be the jumping on point with the other older needed cards included as a separate pack. The separate pack would have new card art for some characters and new card stats for all of them. More on this later but looking at a release at the end of the year.) - TOM

So a new starting point for fans who want to begin playing Myth Worlds.

Sounds like the guys needed to play Myth Worlds from prior to Origins would be the following:

Shayne
Moog and Sentinel
Faller
Taichi
Tharkas
Murtak

I can definitely get behind new art for Shayne & Castilex. I’ve got a storyline in my fed where Castilex is suffering from extra fatigue being away from Dimension K, Castilex and their mysterious slumber rituals. I am going to let this play out until they get their new cards.

I wonder if this will be the only COTG related release in December. Maybe this parlays with the next EC expansion, giving both new and existing GWF fans something to look forward to.

Sounds like a good idea. Nothing worse than needing a card or two but it's in a set where none of the other cards are being used (hello Murtak)

I guess Q3 will give us an idea what they're doing for Q4. If it's Centra, I could see EC being Q1 next year but if it's something else, then I could see EC being Q4.

So I read that as Origins 2136 would be the jumping on point and NOT Myth Worlds, so 4 game sets ago would be the Starter Set.

I’ve been slowly filling in previous color set gaps that I’ve had in my collection since I got my oldest son into the game. It would be great to be able to get the cards needed that aren’t a part of main set releases like a Murtak. Collecting and playing both COTG & LOW is a tough commitment with time and funds. He’s loved playing a card like Pinnacle but we haven’t started many storylines without a pretty complete roster.

That’s how I read it too, then after further inquiry was told the point is so players can start w Myth Worlds.

I’m sure it will be clear when the official announcement drops. I appreciate Ton sharing his thoughts and ideas like this ahead of official announcements. Makes the board more interesting.

We'll find out more eventually. But I think the point is that you would just need the Origins sets, Myth Worlds and this booster pack to play Myth Worlds. Still much more economical to start then buying 6 more sets for 1 or 2 cards each.

Absolutely appreciate the sharing of ideas and concepts while they're still in the 'we're thinking this or this' stage. I just misinterpreted the concept as I read 2136 as the jumping on point and then read it will start in Myth Worlds and it was like reading the word BLUE, but it's highlighted in red.

I was surprised when I went to see my doctor and he diagnosed me with being color blind. I mean, man, it came right out of the purple! I couldn't believe it!
