A few months ago, I got back into LOW after being away for a couple of years. I don't know why I had taken a break, but Tragos 4 got me excited again. Originally, I wanted it for Farmer Burns, but once I started running matches, one wrestler got my attention: Stanislaus Zbyszko. Reading about his background, and then reading the Knights of the Cross, where he got his name, I quickly became a fan of him. Then he shocked me by winning my Blood Rumble (SAGA's version of the Royal Rumble) to get a title shot.
For the next few weeks, he crushed everyone in his path, setting his sights on the World Title, held by William Muldoon. I figured this would be an awesome back and forth match and made it 2/3 falls for top quality. Instead, Big Z absolutely crushed Muldoon, 2 falls to 0, to win the title. I decided Muldoon had gotten injured and took time off (He'll return next year) so now new challengers are needed.
Mu plan is to try and get Big Z to hold the title as long as possible, maybe even try and beat Frank Gotch's 13 month record. I gave Big Z Wild Red Berry as a manager and am now planning his title defenses. First, I want to set a bunch of rapid fire defenses, one after another. If he survives until January, I want him in a feud. My idea is he'll set up a strength challenge, where people have to try and push him out of the ring, sumo-style. Danny Hodge, Mr. Apple Crusher, will succeed, and they'll face off for several months.
This does leave me with a question. I want 3-4 months out of this feud. But what if Big Z cleanly defeats Hodge in his first title defense; no controversy, no cheap shots, wins in the center of the ring? How do I keep the feud going? How would Hodge, the face, come back from that?
Here's hoping that Zbyszko becomes a major name in SAGA history.
