This time tomorrow night I will be on my flight to Detroit.
I have a combo ticket to go to the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village on Saturday in Dearborn (I am crashing in Dearborn on Saturday night.) I also definitely plan to eat at Buddy's on Saturday too before going to GCW in Detroit.

Safe trip and have fun. It's been decades since I've been to the museum and village but they were always enjoyable and I'm sure you will like them.

I’m in Detroit now. I visited the Joe Louis Fist monument on Jefferson Street downtown and for breakfast had a great bagel sandwich at one of the Condy Island locations. I am now headed toward the Henry Ford Museum and then I will have lunch at Buddy’s before checking into my hotel.
I fell asleep on the plane before it even left Las Vegas and did not wake up until landing in Detroit, but I am still really tired so I might take a Lyft to Harpo’s tonight for GCW.

Have fun tonight Zeke and be careful!!! Harpos is one of the most dangerous bars in Detroit. Seriously. Would not advise hanging around after the show too long.
Detroit is awesome just gotta know where to go and where to avoid.

I really enjoyed the Henry Ford Museum alot!
History is my profession and the subject in which I have both a Bachelors degree and a Masters degree and I saw some really cool History today such as:
the presidential car in which JFK was shot
Reagan's presidential car that drive him to the hospital after he got shot
the chair in which Abraham Lincoln was sitting in when he got stabbed by John Wilkes Booth (I believe I previously saw the same chair at Ford's Theater as that chair used to be there and I have been on the Ford's Theater tour many years ago)
the bus on which Rosa Parks refused to move to the back (I actually got to go into that bus today)
in addition, many cool other historical cars, trains, planes, etc were on display too, that visit was well worth my ticket money.
after walking around Greenfield Village for awhile, I had lunch at Buddy's, the pizza was good but I saved 2 of my 4 squares for dinner before I leave for GCW tonight
currently resting at my hotel for 2-3 hours before heading back to downtown Detroit for GCW tonight

Detroit is awesome just gotta know where to go and where to avoid. you definitely know better than I do, but i have also heard the area around Harpo's can be tough I have a rental car but, instead of driving downtown in an unfamiliar area where I don't know where to park, I am just going to order a Lyft there and back (which also means I can have a beer or two at the show without worrying about driving.) |
