Awful news. Super nice guy. Glad he got one last hurrah to Jamestown this summer. I'm sure he's rolling dice in between naps in the sky.

I was really sad to hear about the passing of Smoke today. I was also really surprised as Smoke is only 2 years older than me.
At recent Galacticons, me and Smoke used to talk alot about school issues since we both work in education.
I was impressed how Smoke always showed up, especially since I think he said he always drove from New Jersey, to Galacticon even when it was in places further away from him such as Chicago.
I am going to miss Smoke and I offer my condolences to Jaron and the rest of his family.

Sad to hear. Didn’t know him well, but he was always very friendly when I did see him at GALACTICON, was held in high regard in this community.
