so far the early reviews are really good for this movie with 83% on Rotten Tomatoes and with these early review calling it the best movie in the franchise since Aliens in the mid 1980s (the first movie I ever saw in the theater)

I saw Alien: Romulus tonight.
It is a really good horror movie with lots of geunine suspense and better than most of the Alien movies, other than of course either Alien or Aliens as both of those are classics. It does pay homage to both Alien and Aliens and I won't give away the ending other than to say it does not interfere with the canon of the Alien franchise.
It is a very gory movie though even by Alien standards and many of the deaths in the movie are not really quick and merciful. But if you like horror movies and/or Alien movies then you will enjoy this movie.

On a side note, it looks like at first glance there are just not that many movies coming out until at least October that I am interested in seeing especially in the theater. Usually the start of the NFL season coincides with the overall best (Fall) season for movies and I typically go to a movie almost every weekend while placing my weekend bets, but this year I might leave the casino after placing my bets instead of going to the theater inside the casino too. I see there are a couple of movies in October that I will see for sure and a number in Novmeber and December, but probably not much the rest of August and september (why did they remake The Crow?, it was good and really did not need to be remade?)
