GODSEND seems like a fun and enjoyable character for Tom to write. Brining him back gave us both Pinnacle and Myth Worlds.

I do think it's an interesting question: writing a character who's permanently semi-omnipotent can be a challenge because if the guy can just snap his fingers and undo the story, or change the setting of the story, you can lose the investment of the reader/viewer real quick because either nothing has stakes or there's no possible moment of triumph for the heroes that can't be wiped out of existence.
There's a reason why Marvel tended to limit the direct involvement of guys like the Living Tribunal and Eternity, and why other omnipotent characters in fiction (Mr. Mxyzptlk in the Superman comics, Q in the Star Trek universe) are written as pests who are only dabbling in our mortal realms, and treated accordingly. With a few exceptions, Superman and Picard respectively tended to treat Mxyzptlk and Q with eyerolls when they made their appearances rather than as threats to humanity.

I guess my big question is, WHY bring back Godsend when you successfully closed the door on him and moved on with Grand Master? Now we're back to square one, needing Vallah freed from the cage that he's been in since 2134 and then he just disappeared from COTG lore. The only thing I can think of in bringing Godsend back is if he is just a part of a way bigger story Tom is going to tell. Yeah, but now Godsend seems like just a story crutch IMO. The cruiser taking the GWF to their next show could have passed through some mysterious nebula or portal and was transported to Myth Worlds. I don't know, not my circus, not my monkeys. I, like everyone else, am along for this bizarre ride.

I’m in the camp with fans who believe that Tom could have just as easily pulled off the Myth Worlds theme without Godsend - but maybe not the Pinnacle character, depending on where he goes w it.
And I agree that Endgame and Cosmic Woman and everybody else involved in stopping Godsend the first time look a little foolish if he can freeze all of Dimension K then whisk the GWF to some mythical wonderland.
You could argue that what he’s doing now is a lot worse than what he was doing the first time around w the Crime Stoppers.

It seems as if MythWorlds is the GWF’s version of Secret Wars.I agree there are ways they could have got there without Godsend.Although I don’t know how we would have got Pinnacle,Terh and a evolved Demonicus.Perhaps Godsend is becoming more unhinged and unstable as a entity.I also think that this is most likely the farewell for Perfect Specimen and Catfight, the last two Future Shock characters.

Interview went great. Will need some editing but looking to get it out by Wed or Thursday if not earlier. Thanks to everyone for their questions. I was able to ask them all except for a few that Tom answered in the course of our discussion.
