Hi Everybody:
Quick question about Harley Race's card art. Underneath the NWA World Championship belt that's on his shoulder there's a white/grey material. Does anybody have any idea what the heck that is? Is it some sort of padding or is it something else? I've seen the source photo online and it's there too so Werner's drawing is accurate in that regard.
I realize this is a silly thing to wonder about but I can't help but notice it every time I use Race's card.
Any help answering this question would be appreciated.

It is the backside of the belt as the belt is folded up on itself.

It is the backside of the belt as the belt is folded up on itself. Gotcha. Upon looking at the photo again I see it now. Most of the time when a wrestler has a belt over their shoulder they have it completely unfurled and not folded so I assumed that was the case here too. If it was a head-to-toe photo of Race I would have noticed it right away. Thanks for clearing that up. Now I don't have to wonder anymore.

Here I thought it was where some of his skin had peeled back and showed the metal that is under it. You know, like any Terminator. The man was not human.

I thought it was because Harley carried a gun...that and him being the Greatest Wrestler On God's Green Earth.
