The recent Rob Van Dam signing has raised the profile of the game and at least one person on the boards has already suggested that other wrestlers may be more receptive to being in the game now, which I think is likely true. Maybe the timing is right for Tom to grab another big name with Jeff Hardy's WWE contract expiring in July. From what I've heard he plans to take a break from wrestling for a while so he won't be signing with TNA either. Maybe he could be signed for the next set or for a single SE card. I'd love to have an official card of the Charismatic Enigma and I'd even be willing to pay more than we're used to for a single card of him or a set with him in it if it took some extra cash to sign him. I'm just sayin'...

I don't really see wrestlers more agreeable to signing because RVD is in the game. If that's the case, it's a matter of who each specific person watched or admired coming up, and seeing that person already in the game could possibly have some influence. Someone who was a big Rude fan, etc.

what soul and i are saying is that he has friends and a better contact list than most legends of modern era wrestlers,so hes playing the game passing some time and wrestler so and so calls "hey Rob whatcha doin'n tonight?" "oh im just kick'n it back playing me in this game" "what video game is that?" "Not a video game, this card game called legends of wrestling,i just Vandamnanated Bobby Eaten!" "oh wow i loved the Midnight Express groing up,how can i get a set or get in the game!" "Just call Tom Filsinger or e-mail him i'll get you that number..."
thats all im saying.

I don't know if Rob will ever play the game or not, but I think that having him in the game maybe gives it more credibility with current wrestlers because he's a contemporary and not someone who's been retired for 20 years. From some of the things I've read about how Tom and Co get people to sign on networking is an important part of it and maybe RVD puts a good word in with some guys or passes on some contact info. I'm not saying it would be easy or a sure thing to get Jeff or anyone else but I think having a higher profile guy who's still young and has contacts in the business could be helpful in signing some people.
And in the case of Jeff Hardy Rob has actually worked with him in WWE so he does know him to some extent even if they aren't best buds. A lot of things could go wrong(he could change his mind and re-sign with WWE and keep wrestling, VInce could sign him to some type of merchandising or ambassador deal that keeps him from signing with LOW, he might want too much money, or may not be interested at all) but this is not impossible like it would be to get someone like Triple H or Edge who's locked in with WWE or TNA and likely to stay that way for a while. It's very much worth some effort to try to get it done IMO. And who would have thought RVD would be in a set? I haven't been around as long as some of you but I think that was a pretty big deal and wasn't a sure thing from the start of the process...

I agree with both Pride and Tystates in regards to wrestlers signing because of another wrestler they know is in the game, especially like a referense like Jeff Hardy and RVD worked a few angles together, Jeff may sign because Rob is in the game. What is difficult for Tom and crew with signing certain wrestlers starts with money, then ego (both good and bad ego), it all a buisness and you succed in buisness by knowing and understanding how to aquire certain things for as little or no money. Listen if you guys want Scott Norton money won't be an issue, Abdullah is different a recent dinner with him went as so" so Larry when arre you gonna hang it up?, response "When the money stops." is not rude its just fact, Vampiro is a little different you would have to approach Ian alittle differently then both those guys, its a buisness and I think the guys who are working with Tom to sign legends are doing a great job, but I think if wrestlers are getting approached about this game by some fan asking for contact info, you will lose alot of wrestlers who will be weary. If you know wrestlers well and want to approach them thats and feel comfortable talking buisness with them great. All wrestlers can be signed who are not under any other contract (WWE, TNA, etc.) this means Warrior, Hogan, and Savage...with Savage you would have to sign him before Hogan if you want him. Good luck with what you guys do, and again great work Tom and crew with Filsinger games.
