As a former Fed of the Month winner, I say keep the program!
It made me feel great to have my IWF Fed win the prize! It was humbling to know that enough people thought my Fed was the best on the board that month...
I would love to put my fed against the other FOTM winners to fight for Fed of the Year...I don't think I would win it; but then I never thought enough people read my fed in the first place. I'm definately for a FOTY!
I agree that the GBITG is a GWF board & this board is focused on LOW...I know the LOW section gets a ton of readers. I never won the FOTM over on the GBITG; it came down exactly as I predicted to Mr. Vegas in PM at the beginning...it was more of a popularity contest; even though there were some really great feds that deserved to win the prize.
I would love to have some kind of Fed Rankings that would put those interested in being Ranked into an order based on the quality of their shows, viewer feedback etc.
I agree that the FOTM should be stickied at the top of the Fed Forum so that it gets added exposure over the course of it's month.
I think that perhaps we should go to the same voting format as the GBITG; 2 votes, one of which can be for your own fed. That way people can support their own efforts. Heck, if Osk has too much on his plate, I'd be willing to help out or take over running the FOTM program.
All in all, I think that every Fed that was recognized with FOTM deserved it on this board. They are all great Feds. When Feds won that I don't normally read; I went to check out what they had going on because I was interested. I'm always looking for ways to make my Feds better. Immitation is the highest form of flattery after all.
