First off this has been the first Con I've been to since '02 and I must say I had a great time.

*Eliath: He offered me his room at the Con, then put me up in his house Thursday and Sunday. He's now a guy that I consider one of my really great friends. He and his family were very hospitable and I am grateful for that.

*Meeting Daytona Dave (inside joke) and J Mello for the ride up to NY and they were a fun time, real class acts.

*Me channeling Jim Kelly of the Buffalo Bills and making it to 4 tournament finals and losing them. I guess I won many matches that way though, so I can't complain.

*Eliath said it right when he said that John and Ryan are truly genuine people and as the con progressed I found myself drawn to John as he just seemed so easy to talk to. Others were to, but John just had this aura for some reason.

*It was great finally meeting Chewey after years of chatting via IM and catching up on things. Got reacquainted with Smoke after all these years and I must saw WOW has Jaron grown up. I remember last time I was there he was just a pup.

*UFC PPV on Saturday night was off the hook. The Brock Lesnar promo in the end after he won was classic.

*Of course the epic battle between Jim Steel and Rob for the Galactic Cup was truly amazing, especially seeing Monolith MISS THE END OF ALL THINGS 3 times against Endgame!

*Entering the Trivia royal rumble first and totally sucking. It's amazing how one forgets so much when put on the spot. Congrats to Rob for winning.

*Chuck Carter doing drawings of characters for people and doing Avarice in a different pose was awesome. The pic totally rocks and I will post it online when I get it scanned.

*Which leads me to meeting Osk, the mastermind of aCe, the fed that I so dearly love. He was cool to talk to and share stories with.

*Getting to see Broc and Sam again as I rode and stayed with them the first 2 times I went. I've seen pictures online of Sam's incredible weight loss, and it's even more amazing in person. Very glad to get to talk to them again. FEEGS

*Of course the now-infamous "Wendy's Incident." Leaving Wendy's I was spacing off and attempted to get into what I thought was Eliath's vehicle and infact got into the one next to us that was backing out. It housed a couple of kids and their mother. She was as shocked as I was and then stated "Oops, wrong car?" I said, "Yeah, mine's over there." Very lucky to get out of that one alive and unmaced, untased and unshot

*There's probably a lot more that I am leaving out, but most everyone there were class acts. A big round of applause for Eliath and the Tournament Overmaster J-Mello for doing an outstanding job on the tournaments. Things went so smoothly than I ever remember in the past.
To Tom and the gang for keeping this tradition alive for as long as it has, and I hope to make it back again next year.

Here are my thoughts/memories of the Con in no particular order...

Having Werner bring to life another member of The Messenger's family...

Watching Troy Xavier slide step Matt out of position while watching the Galacticon Cup finals; Matt showed a TON of class & took a step back; Troy then showed a TOTAL LACK OF CLASS by stepping further into the space & shouldering Matt totally out of position. Matt never said a word; just moved somewhere else. Troy, I know you're reading this; you owe that man an apology...

Listening to Nitro immitate Arnold for the entire Con...

Jmello organizing the tournaments & then second guessing himself...You did an OUTSTANDING JOB; no matter what Troy Xavier might have said!!!

Climbing over four fallen bodies & using Nathan Wilde's head for a step to win the MITB LADDER MATCH & ultimately the INTERPLANETARY TITLE!!!

Speaking of the IP TITLE; Endgame beating the HELL out of Swarm for the belt...and having Troy Xavier asking me about 100 times if he could get the Swarm MMA card that I had while I was in the middle of playing a match against Fire...

Playing against Mark Ashby in the MMA tournament & winning!!

Crickets chirping after the reveal of Iron Hand as Sly Drury; reading the book & still hearing chirping; thinking about it & still not liking the idea of it...

Meeting Eric & beating him senseless at PreCon 1...then watching him open another car door & try to get inside: Lady: "Oops; wrong car?" Eric: "Yea, sorry." LMFAO!! Eric is a GREAT guy & friend!!

Saturday morning breakfast: Renee: "Good morning gentlemen...uhhh...gentlemen & lady...Sorry." *snickers*

Sunday morning breakfast: Renee: "Maybe if she doesn't want to be mistaken for a man, she should stop wearing her husband's clothes..." LMAO!!

Learning JMello's ROYAL RUMBLE method at 1 in the morning & CHEERING together when The Messenger hit the THE MESSAGE (+6) - 666 COMBO to eliminate Havoc from the Rumble!!! Witnesses baby!!

UFC 100 - At one point I turned around & saw how many people were there & said: "Damn, there's a lot of people here..." Thanks to everyone who joined us for the night...

After UFC 100; JMello, Grumpy, his step-son & I stayed in the conference room watching Jizz in my pants & then prank calling Grant's booking agent...hilarious...

Watching Nitro miss the only question he could have possibly knew the correct answer to...about himself...

Watching Nitro flirt with every Filsinger daughter at least once...

Listening to JMello complain about the 2124 writing for at least 2 hours on the way home; until he passed out..."People just don't talk like that!! They don't!!"

Hearing Brock Lesner telling everyone who would listen that he: "pulled that horse shoe out of Frank Mir's butt & smashed him in the face with it!" Leave it to a wrestler who knows how to work a promo to say the most meaningful thing in MMA...Great job Brock!!

Telling John that I thought Mike M. would give Ryan the RVD figure even if Mike won the match...and then watching Mike do exactly that...Good man Mike, good man!

Mike Fortune: "Daytona Dave..."

Smoke snoring on the couch; then laughing about it...

Rob making it to the Con; dude, you impressed me with that! STRONG!!!

Broc repeatedly professing that Greg Valentine was the: "greatest wrestler on the planet"...until he lost to Ryan; then changing his story to: "he's still the greatest wrestler on the planet, but doesn't like to beat children." LOL!

Dave asking everyone their booking strategy on the ride home; really got me to thinking about my fed. Thanks Dave!!

Spending some quality time with JMello, Dayton Dave & Avarice on the way to the Con & back again...even though everyone went to sleep on me on the way home...thanks guys!!

There are so many more, but that is enough for now!!!

It was good seeing everyone; can't wait until next year!!!





How long til OhioCon??? LOL!

[Tournament Master]

A great time as always, and I think I had even more fun this year. A few highlights:

- The conversations to and from Jamestown in the car. Darren and Werner make those hours fly by.

- Gene and the "damn queers"

- Tom making up the rules for a basketball game as he went along and beating me out because he kept following Kevin Wible, who airballed most shots.

- The whole Iron Hand identity guessing. The Detroit boys had the best of course.

- BA-DA-BA-DUM

- Tim Horton's for breakfast.

- JMello running the tournaments, and doing a fantastic job. I could see him getting frazzled at times, but he handled it well and it was as fair as possible, which is all that matters.

- Seeing Jack as Louden during the con, as well as him supplying the COTG museum. Awesome stuff. Hope the Kaiju show goes well in San Diego!

- Trivia Rumble had some funny moments. Next year definately back to the battle royal, and more questions from historical sets for sure.

- Kevin Wible waiting until the last second to bid...no wait that was not a highlight. Grant winning the Greg Valentine poster and turning heel and refusing to rip it.

- Getting one of the last sloppy joes...almost missed them again.

- Seeing Osk, getting killed in every tournament, then guiding Dr. Cube to victory in the LOTF tourney.

- Seeing Mike M win the Legends tournament and giving the RVD action figure prize to Ryan. Exactly what I was hoping to see.

- Chuck's big announcement...which I had to hear 2nd hand from Osk.

- Nitro getting into the wrong car in the McDonald's drive thru (when he went to the ATM). Yes, Eric was not the only one.

- The interview with Brock Lesnar after the fight. UFC's monster heel!

- Epic battles with Mike and Rob in the Canada Cup, and going down to the final fall in the Torture Chamber, before losing.

- Watching Rob win the Galacticon Cup, in one of the most exciting matches ever played at Galacticon. Beating Jim with the Andromeda drop added insult to injury.

- Hanging out with everybody. Hope to see you all again next year.
