I'm in 2116 and the Troubleshooters haven't been doing that great. I realized that Muss' defense is kind of weak, but he has a lot of (tag)'s. So I'm wondering if being able to tag out on defense would help them. Do you roll a tag of 6 or lower on EVERY (tag) or do you have a limited number of optional attempts like the (ch) options?

So I'm wondering if being able to tag out on defense would help them. Do you roll a tag of 6 or lower on EVERY (tag) or do you have a limited number of optional attempts like the (ch) options? Any time you roll on it (and you are playing with the optional rules), you may try and tag out. However, I have my own house rules about it. I don't like the 2-6 on each level results in a tag and your partner automatically comes in on offense. I don't think it's realistic if you are down, you are as likely to make a tag if you are simply dazed. Also, not all partners should come in on offense. You may make the tag, but the opponent may flatten your partner as he is entering the ring. Just a few of my (tag) house rules. I feel they make the game a bit more realistic. Instead of every tag being successful on a roll of 2-6, If the (tag) is on a Level 1 Defense (dazed), the tag is successful on a roll of 2-6. If the (tag) is on a Level 2 Defense (hurt), the tag is successful on a roll of 2-5. If the (tag) is on a Level 3 Defense (down), the tag is successful on a roll of 2-4. If some opponent has you in an arm bar, it's more likely you are making the tag than if the opponent blasts you with a piledriver. Also, if the "tag" is successful, I roll one die. Even - your partner storms the ring and takes over. Odd - The opponent attacks your partner as he is stepping thru the ropes. Hope I didn't ramble.

Nope, sound good to me. In fact, I'm probably going to adopt your rules with one little tweak. I have the cards laid out side by side. The dice on the left represents the left wrestler and vice versa, higher dice starts on offense. That's how I start my matches and I'll probably use that for when a wrestler on defense is tagged in. (I agree that it's not realistic for the guy on offense to immediate go to defense just because someone made a tag!)
Thanks!

The rule I use for tagging is I add one to the fatigue of the wrestler tagging out. This was something I read that someone was doing and I thought that was a good idea to keep the match moving. I always let the wrestler coming in from a defensive tag come in on level 2 offense. Usually when a wrestler tags out defensively his partner comes in with a lot of energy.

I like the rolling to see who is on offense following a defensive tag. I think I'm going to have to start doing that. I was already using the other part of your rule as far as having it get harder to make a defensive tag the higher level of defense you are.
There is also Thad Killian's Defensive Tag Chart. It's in the Open Source Content Archive. You could check that out too.

Hmm, I am liking the idea of rolling to see who is in control when someone tags out.

Hmm, I am liking the idea of rolling to see who is in control when someone tags out. IN reality in only makes sense. I love the game and play all the time, but want to make it as realistic as possible as well. You don't see the Road Warriors giving anyone any offense after they come into the ring after the tag now do ya?
