I was wondering how ya imagine your arena set up when you play. Back in the beginning, I imagined a set up like old Jim Crockett's WCW. But now day I have different idea.
I think of a traditional 4 sided ring, with the one turnbuckle instead of the 3 separate ones. The entrance way is like you would see in Japanese MMA groups like Pride or Dream. No "Titan Trons" just a set with lots of lights. A walk way that leads to the ring, that is raised up above the fans, and before the match stops, it retracts behind the barrier to allow access to that section of ring side. I don't think of current music, each wrestler has something unique, most of the time instrumental.
Also, I only do "house shows" no holovision/tv shows or ppvs. There are no in ring interviews, the only time a wrestler has the mic is when he speaks to the crowd after winning a title. I use the Japanese style for title matches. The introduction has the World anthems of each wrestler played, then the President reads the declaration, then each man is announced. If a wrestler wins the belt, he is presented with the official declaration, a trophy, and the title. He then poses for pictures.
I know it may be weird for a kid from Tennessee to do things like the Japanese so much. But I have always like the way they respect the business and the art and production of their events. It is more fun that guys comes out curtain and walks to ring. And the "sports entertainment" style of WWE does not do much for me anymore. Just too over produced. Even the Undertaker has become boring for me, isn't that sad? Oh well....
So, what do ya think of when your doing your shows?
