Copied from the other boards...thought it might be useful here as well:
Look at it like this so as to better understand the "insert editions" concept.
Imagine you're back in the mid-late 1980's and you heard about the Champions of the Galaxy wrestling game.
Then, imagine the original GWF 24 set came out just like it originally did...
THEN, instead of Invasion 2088 with 12 characters coming out a year later, Tom released an "Invasion Insert Edition" a few MONTHS later... Imagine that it featured only the 3 original Ani-Men and Spike. Included would have been the cards for those guys and a little write-up about the Ani-Men vs. Gladiator feud, etc. Of course, Tom would have also touched on what everyone else was up to...maybe swapped the feuds so that Pulsar fought Kahn instead of Mutant...hell, maybe he even gives Beast Rider new art at this point after realizing how bad people said it sucked.
Then, imagine that a few months after THAT, Tom released "Invasion Insert Edition #2" - included in that maybe would have been Bishop Hell, Billy Joe Boxer, and Splatter (and their stories, of course). Again, he'd touch on existing guys, make Star Warrior a little bit better statistically...maybe even create brand new feuds out of left field based on the responses from his fan base.
And so on...
Please remember, this is all just in the CONCEPT phase...but with Online and the ability to tweak stats and have as many pages for booklets as we want, we can actually make this concept happen. Just like character progression, it adds a sense of realism to the game.
I mean, how often do you see the WWE debut 9 rookies and 3 repackaged veterans on New Years Day?
