I vote to keep illustrations, though that's probably because no photos have been used. To change things wouldn't look right. I don't like the fact that the fonts were changed for Legends International. I can't even use bootlegs unless I can have a picture in the top left corner of the card.
Strange, but that's just me!

I'm definately not suggesting anything change, I was just wondering if there was a thought process involved at Fed HQ, or if it was simply that the set was done the way all the other sets were done.

I've often wondered if, when the drawing is clearly based on a photo reference, if Filsinger ever runs into issues with the photo's copyright owner. For example, Bock here:

For example, Bock here: well, the thing with copy righted stuff, is if you can manipulate or change it enough so that it's different from the original, then you should be safe.

For example, Bock here: I remember when I first got the Legends set...I didn't even know it was Bockwinkel until I saw the name on the card...just a goofy kinda pose. Definitely not Bockwinkel-esq

The one problem with photos is that we would need to buy them before using them. With the art we can find the best pose and use that for the pose. If and when Online comes to fruition, you may have the option for art or photo.

I'm kind of in the consistency camp myself and would prefer artwork. Had they started as photos from the beginning, I probably would have been fine with it. Bear in mind this is from a guy who hasn't played a Legends fed in well over a year.

This probably won't be a real popular opinion but since the topic is being discussed here it is. A lot of the recent legends artrwork has been talked about among game players as looking very much like tracings, where a photo was traced and then shaded in. New art is to be that, something new. A photo can be a reference but a lot of the legends art looks exactly the same as a classic photo. I like having original artwork and think that is what should be asked for from the artist.
