They will need one or two big non-tourney matches on night two. My guess is that Young Bucks will defend on night 2. Perhaps against a duo of high-profile singles guys eliminated night 1. Usually for BOLA they have a huge tag match involving all the losers from the previous night between the Semi-Finals and the Final match. If they do the same thing then it would be an 8 man tag that 2nd night. But I think the Young Bucks still owe 2 Skinny Black Guys (Human Tornado and El Generico) a title shot since they lost to them in a non-title match at Threemendous II. 2 Skinny Black Guys were then set to get a title match against tthe Young Bucks until Chuck Taylor challenged El Genrico and then defeated him at Speed of Sound in that #1 contender's Reseda Street Fight match to instead give that title shot to the Men of Low Moral Fiber (Taylor and Kenny Omega) who then lost to the Young Bucks at Against the Grain. So the way they have the tournament bracket set up with Matt Jackson wrestling Human Tornado, if Alex Shelley can upset El Generico and if Brandon Gatson can defeat Nick Jackson as I think he is going to do, I could see Matt Jackson and the Human Tornado battling to a double DQ to end the first night with Human Tornado with Nick Jackson and El Genrico then perhaps coming out to back up their tag team partners. That could lead to a title defense of the Young Bucks vs 2 Skinny Black Guys either the second night of BOLA or at an upcoming PWG show (perhaps the one at WrestleReunion 4- but I think an El Generico/Jushin Liger match that night would be good too).

If they're bringing Lyger in for one show, then I'd rather see him against like, Chris Sabin or Brian Kendrick.
That said, I hope Roderick Strong wins the tournament.

It has been announced that Chris Sabin won't be able to compete at BOLA due to a neck injury he aggravated at a TNA taping that's expected to sideline him for a couple of weeks. Johnny Goodtime is taking Sabin's spot in the tournament and will compete against Roderick Strong in the first round.

Going into tomorrow night's first round matches, here are my first round picks: Block AKenny Omega vs Kevin Steen I think there is a chance Omega (but he's not my pick- instead I think it's going to be either Brian Kendrick or Roderick Strong)wins this tournament and there was recent speculation that Steen, who hasn't wrestled in PWG much during the past year anyway, wouldn't be able to make this tournament due to injuries with his knees. It's been verifed that Steen will be there, but I'm picking Omega although recent reports that Steen is going to be wrestling more often in PWG next year make me perhaps a little less certain of this pick. Scott Lost vs Jerome "LTP" Robinson Looking forward to a possible Omega vs Lost match on night two of this tournament. Block BAustin Aries vs Brian KendrickUnless, like Steen, Aries is going to be wrestling more often for PWG in 2010 than he has recently, I don't think there is any chance at all he wins this tournament for the vacant PWG Championship. I could see this match going either way but, since Kendrick is a PWG regular and thus has a much better chance of winning this tournament than Aries, I'm picking Kendrick (probably by cheating in this heel vs heel match). Colt Cabana vs Joey RyanAs much as I like Colt Cabana, I'm picking Ryan. Block CBrandon Gatson vs Nick Jackson Gatson is an awesome wrestler and I think he gets a push by advancing in this tournament. El Generico vs Alex ShelleyI'm calling it, Shelley gets by El Generico. Block DJohnny Goodtime vs Roderick StrongStrong (who I think will at least advance to the finals of this tournament and quite possibly win it) gets past Goodtime who was just announced as the replacement for the injured Chris Sabin. Matt Jackson vs Human Tornado= Double DQ2 Skinny Black Guys (Human Tornado and El Generico) still need to get their deserved title shot against the PWG tag champions the Young Bucks. So I say they get it on night two when this match to end night one ends in a double DQ and El Generico and Nick Jackson both get involved in a 4 man brawl to set up a title match against the Young Bucks on night 2- that's my pick.

Ok first the bad news. Grant couldnt make the show so I was on my own which wasnt too bad, and the place was packed. The Great news is that despite spending 2 and a half hours on the freeway, my car overheating TWICE, I still made it to the show on time! Whoohoo for me. The show didnt start until 8:30 so I was in good shape either way.
The first match was a tag match. The Cutlers vs Ryan Turner/Malakai Jackson. It was pretty good, with the Cutlers winning by spike Tombstone on Turner.
Block A Kenny Omega vs Kevin Steen This was the second to last match. They both talked for about 10 minutes before the match got started. Lots of gay jokes and Canada jokes were flying but it was a funny exchange. Omega got the win with a crucifix rollup.
Scott Lost vs Jerome "LTP" Robinson First match. Both guys were over, and they both talked shit on each other. LTP had the line of the night when he said Scott Lost smelled like poo and cheese, very funny. Lost ended up winning. I also almost ended up with Scott Lost in my lap during the match but I was able to get out of the way just in time.
Block B Austin Aries vs Brian Kendrick These two also talked before their match and Aries even came out wearing his ROH Title Belt. He said he was thinking of putting the belt on the line but that we the people didnt deserve to see an ROH World Title match. It was a great heel vs heel match with them both trying to out cheat each other which provided some funny moments. The end of the match came with Kendrick hit Aries with a rolled up something and Aries tried to hit Kendrick with the belt but missed and Kendrick got the pin. Afterwards they both played up knee injuries and had to be helped to the back by the ref which was funny only to turn around and go to the bar for a drink.
Colt Cabana vs Joey Ryan Your basic Colt Cabana comedy match. There was lots of funny moments but also some good wrestling. Joey Ryan took the win here.
Block C Brandon Gatson vs Nick Jackson Before the match some guy in the crowd gave Nick a Balloon that said Thinking of you, and some Sun Flowers. We all thought that was funny. The Balloon was even used to punch Gatson in the head. Jackson did make a mistake though and Gatson got the win.
El Generico vs Alex Shelley The Main Event of the night. It started off slow but they finally got going and hit some nice moves on each other. Shelley finally got the win with a Sliced Bread from the top rope.
Block D Johnny Goodtime vs Roderick Strong This was a good match. It was pretty back and forth with Strong playing the semi heel to Goodtime. During the match Strong threw Goodtime out and he tried to to drag Strong out with him. Strong grabbed onto the ropes and kicked Goodtime into the crowd and he took out a guy that didnt have time to react or get out of the way and it happened so fast hardly any of us had time to move. They pounded on each other for a bit longer before Strong finally got the win.
Matt Jackson vs Human Tornado This match had the highlight of the night. It was back and forth as you would expect. Toward the end Tornado threw Matt out of the ring and went to dive onto him on the side I was sitting on. Nick tripped him up and Matt got back in. Nick bounced off the ropes and went to dive out onto Tornado on the opposite side when Ref Rick Knox closelined Nick out of his boots. The crowd went nuts, and Knox went from being that semi heel ref to instant face. Tornado then got back in as Matt was arguing with Knox and rolled him up for the win.
So this is how the rest of the BOLA shapes up for tomorrow.
Kenny Omega vs Scott Lost Brian Kendrick vs Joey Ryan Brandon Gatson vs Alex Shelley Roderick Strong vs Human Tornado
I am sure there will be a few surprises and I cant wait.

Excaliber announced during the show that The Great Muta will be making an appearance either at the PWG show or Wrestle Reunion in January! Sweet! That's awesome! I saw on the WrestleReunion site that Great Muta was announced yesterday, but I didn't know he might also be appearing at PWG's show for WrestleReunion 4 that weekend. Wow! In addition to Rob Van Dam and Jushin Liger already announced as making guest wrestling appearances for PWG that weekend, how cool would it also be if the Great Muta wrestles for PWG that weekend too? I'm leaving for Los Angeles for the 2nd night of BOLA in about half an hour. Cman, after I check into the Hojos a block and a half away from the union hall where PWG runs its shows, I'll walk over to meet you at El Cancun. If I'm running late, I'll call you on your cell phone.

Man what a night it was at BOLA last night. As expected everybody and their mother was there for night two.
Joey Ryan vs Brian Kendrick This was the opener. Ryan got the mic and said he wanted Kendrick to be happy instead of angry all the time so he went to the happiest place on earth Disneyland! He came back with Mickey Ears for Kendrick and put them on his head. That started the match as Kendrick got POed about the ears. Pretty back and forth match that the crowd was into when Ryan got the win with a Superkick.
Kenny Omega vs Scott Lost Some what a comedy match but that is expected with any Omega match. They started out pretty good, Omega spit water in Losts face and when Lost went to return the favor ended up blasting the ref which was pretty funny. They both hit low blows on each other and complained to the ref to dq each other but the ref said to stop being wussies and fight! It finally got going and Omega won with what I think is called his Omega Driver.
Brandon Gatson vs Alex Shelley Holy crap what a match. Gatson impressed me and everybody with what he could do. It was really entertaining and Gatson got the surprise win with a roll up.
Roderick Strong vs Human Tornado Tornado attacked Strong before the bell when he leapfroged over the ring announer into a dropkick on Strong. Another good match with both guys over as you would expect. Strong eventually got the win.
After intermission it was a six man with the losers from last night being Johnny Goodtime/Colt Cabana/Jerome LTP Robinson vs Austin Aries/The Cutler Brothers. Your basic comedy match of the night. LTP played your miget face in peril for most of the match. At one point Johnny Goodtime dove out onto Aries and the Cutlers and LTP did his Carlton dance from Fresh Prince which dumbfounded Colt and I think is the first time Colt had no clue what to do. Very funny. LTP managed to get the win with a swinging Tombstone on one of the Cutlers.
Joey Ryan vs Kenny Omega I have never heard a louder chant for Joey Ryan in my three PWG shows then I did last night. It was insane. Omega was just as over. Very good match which could have gone either way with the crowd split but I think most wanting Ryan to win. It just didnt happen as Omega moved to the finals.
Brandon Gatson vs Roderick Strong This was good. At one point during the match Strong was on the outside and Gatson went for his flip dive that he does but Strong moved and somehow Gatson landed on his feet on the outside of the ring. Just wow. Strong finally got the win in a very good match.
Kevin Steen/El Generico(Steenerico) vs The Young Bucks (PWG Tag Team Title Match) Holy Crap! This was match of the night in IMHO. First Steen got a bit gay by teabagging Matt Jackson, then licking his ear but it was over with the crowd. Lots of near pins and close finishes. Toward the end of the match Steen tried his finisher from the top rope but that didnt work so Generico tried his and that failed too. The Bucks hit More Bang for your Buck but Generico made the save. The crowd was hot for the bucks to finally lose but it just didnt happen. They hit Steen with what seemed like 1 million kicks to the face and head before he finally went down for the pin and another successful defense for the Bucks.
After a short 5 minute intermission it was time for the Main Event.
Kenny Omega vs Roderick Strong Second match of the night. They went all over the place. Omega even did a moonsault onto Strong from the announce table which was pretty cool. Back in the ring they were back and forth, toward the end you could tell they were tired because moves were not hitting like they should have been. In the end Omega hit Strong with his finisher and got the win and the title!
Afterward he made a speech and said he loves the PWG and is only wrestling here because he loves it or would be in Japan. Then he brought the bucks out to celebrate with him since they are friends but they turned on him and attacked. Brian Kendrick came out to join in on the fun when El Generico made the save. Colt then come down from commentary to talk to Omega and convince him Generico was saving him. They all finally shook hands as they all have a common enemy in The Young Bucks.
That was the show and to me was much better than Night One. I am just glad I got to experience a BOLA for the first time and will def be back for next year. The next PWG show will be Wrestle Reunion weekend and I will be there.
