This will be the first Chikara DVD I've ever watched. What do you think?

Looks good. Is that the set that was released at Wal Mart a few years back?

Looks good. Is that the set that was released at Wal Mart a few years back? I don't know if it was part of a larger set or not. I found it at the library just as a single disc. It has a 2007 copyright date.

I have that. It's okay, though a little too much lucha for my tastes. The first match starts with about 5 minutes of flying headscissors, one after another. Then, the Hero/Claudio matches show up and steal the entire show.
Overall, not bad, especially if you can get it cheap.

Too much lucha? But...didn't Chikara come into existence on the premise of American Lucha?

At the time I bought it, I didn't realize what Chikara revolved around; I thought it was a mix of styles. Still, watching 5 minutes of nothing but flying headscissors seems less like wrestling and more like a circus act.
But that's just my view. Those who are into that still will probably enjoy it.
