Sorry if this is placed in the wrong place (if so please move mods) however I stumbled upon this game a few weeks ago and decided now it is time to invest (a bit more funds and time) and have a few questions. 1) Where to begin! I have read through reviews, faq's and posts however I am still confused. What is the best place to start from there which order or expansion to follow? Looking at the store there are many variants, era's and all sorts. 2) Postage to Australia. Just wondering with international orders how well does this go and time frame wise? Credit Card should be fine if that will change the time frames. Honestly that is all I can think of now but I am sure more will come later.

It allows you to build up and still know what a lot of people are talking about. Going back to 2087 would be too daunting. There's always time for that, as long as Todd doesn't let the cards sit out and get sunburnt. There are a lot of alternative options you can explore later but I think NB would be the best to start. Rockay, this is the place to come to. If you have questions, you'll get them pretty quick. Don't be afraid to ask.

I agree. New Beginnings is absolutely the way to go.

For a completely new player..yeah..New Beginnings. It will give you good exposure to the storylines, a straightforward plot to follow, plus great characters that are easy to get in to.
Also..depending on your age..the wrestling aspects will be more relatable than the original set, since that tends to reflect the 80s kayfabe era.

Thanks to all the posts looks like I know where to start. Just wondering if I do decide to go backwards at some stage does that cause any hiccups? I am gathering various characters have evolved and such? Is there are rule to using characters from certain years?

But it's your fed. Some guys have great feds and use whatever guys from whatever times they want. If you choose to follow the timeline, I'd do New Beginnings. It'll keep you busy for awhile and give you an idea about things. In the meantime, you can research some of the other stuff. If you want to be one of those guys that runs their own fed with guys from all over, you could order Storm the Ring and Brawl. This includes almost everything from 2087 to 2122. You could pick and choose if you like.

I would recommend starting with 2087, simple because its where most players started and because the game mechanics are slightly simpler.

I can answer #2. We have a few promoters in Australia. I know that Soug has gotten items right around a week after ordering. Just order in the Online store with the Credit Card and it gets out of my hands as fast as possible. As for where to start. 2087 or New Beginnings are both good choices. The other variants are great, but its probably best to start with the basic GWF sets.

aCe But I'm biased towards it. In all seriousness, New Beginnings would be the way to go if you want to get more current faster. And cotgonline is great as well...it'd save a ton of time waiting for shipping and eases my woes of breaking out cards when I can turn on the PC.

Thanks all, the online version carries all the same expansions and such as the other? I mean wouldnt that end up costing a fair bit more as from what I see there is a subscription as well? Dont get me wrong that subscription is a modest price but it all adds up.
And thanks for the update relating to Australian shipping
