Though the match originated in the AAA promotion in Mexico (I know, right?), some of you may be familiar with this match, because TNA also uses a dome cage, but this match is different in a few ways, and is generally worked a lot better. Basically, there's a big dome cage around the ring, about the size of a normal cage. There's a hole in the top of the cage. Basically, the goal of the match is to climb through the top of the cage, and then you win. Did this in about 15 minutes a month or two back, I remember asking LWPD for advice on this.
STARTING OFF:
- This is generally a 3 vs. 3 or 4 vs. 4 team battle, but I've seen it done like a 13 man Royal Rumble where you can't leave until everyone is in, and Mesias/Wagner are facing in just a one-on-one version of the match. It's all up to you, basically.
- Use Cage Ratings.
- When a finisher is rolled, Add 1 to the opponent's pin rating as opposed to whatever number is printed on the card.
- Into the Ropes and Into the Turnbuckle work as normal. Deathjump and Out of the Ring do not work in this match.
- The match ends when everyone but one person has left the cage. Typically, the last person in the cage has to unmask, or be shaved bald.
- When a wrestler is ready to leave the cage, roll on the chart below. A wrestler can leave the cage when the opponent rolls PIN on their Level 3 Defense Chart, or when they hit their finishing move.
CAGE ESCAPE CHART (Roll 2D6):
If the wrestler's Cage Rating is 1-4..
2-6: With your opponents brawling with your partners, you attempt to make the big escape. As you're climbing, an opponent begins tugging at your leg, trying to pull you down! If your agility rating is better than that of your opponent's power rating, you shrug him off and escape the cage! If not, your opponent pulls you back into the ring, and takes over on Level 2 Offense.
7: As you begin to climb the cage, one of your opponents hits you with a chair! The opponent rolls on Level 3 Offense or makes an attempt to escape.
8-11: You're at the top of the cage, but an opponent leaps up and grabs onto your legs! You're struggling, trying to avoid being pulled down when another opponent jumps from the top rope, bringing both you and his partner to the mat! Everyone involved in the spot adds 1 to their cage rating. Roll initiative.
12: You're all alone at the top of the cage when one of the opposing team/wrestler's allies climbs the cage and throws power in your eyes! You fall back through the hole at the top of the cage, landing hard on the mat below. Add 1 to your Pin rating. Your opponent takes over on Level 2 Offense.
If the wrestler's cage rating is 5 or 6..
2-4: Your attempt to escape is in jeopardy as your opponent is on the cage with you as well! Roll two dice. 2-6: You kick your opponent off the cage, and continue to exit the cage! 7-12: Your opponent hits you with a DDT from the bars of the cage! Add 1 to your Pin Rating. Opponent either rolls on Level 3 Offense or makes an attempt to escape.
5-8: You begin to climb the cage when your opponent hits you with a chair! Opponent rolls on Level 3 Offense or makes an attempt to escape.
9: You and your opponent are battling atop the cage when suddenly you both give into fatigue and plummet to the mat! Add 1 to both wrestlers' pin ratings, and roll initiative.
10-12: As you go for the top of the cage, you grow increasingly tire as the match is taking a toll on you. Roll one dice. Even: You find the strength to push yourself through the top of the cage! Odd: You attempt to push through the top of the cage, but fall back through to the ring below! Opponent rolls on Level 3 offense.
If the wrestler's cage rating is 7 or higher..
2: You hit your opponent with your finishing maneuver, and the crowd is going nuts! This gives you the boost you need to climb to the top, and through the cage! You've won the match!
3-5: You begin your ascent, but the amount of damage you've taken proves to be too much for you as you fall off the cage into the arms of your waiting opponent, who drives you into the mat with a powerslam! OPPONENT ATTEMPTS TO ESCAPE.
6-7: You and your opponent begin climbing on opposite sides of the ring. At the middle, where the hole in the top of the cage is, it's a battle to see who will escape the cage first! At this point, the wrestler with the lower cage rating wins the tug of war and escapes the cage.
8-11: As you start to climb the turnbuckle, the opponent pulls you off and plants you with a back suplex! You're both exhausted from the battle that has been waged inside the cage. The wrestler with the lower cage rating at this point attempts to escape. If after rolling on this chart again, you get this result, re-roll.
12: It's just you and your opponent at the top of the cage. Just when it seems like they're going to win, one of their allies climbs on top of the cage and begins stomping on their fingers, sending them to the ring below! As the crowd is shocked by this change of heart, the opponent's former ally helps you through the top of the cage! You've successfully escaped!
