I must say though, that these vintage wrestlers have strong cards. Frank Gotch and Jim Londos are, in physical size, small men. Would they really handle bigger wrestlers so easy in real life as they do in the game?

As I've noted before, there are a few guys (maybe 8-10) we'd like another shot at. Hopefully when there's a second printing of the various editions, we'll get thet chance.
Some of those are due to stat changes. Others relate to ideas that sounded good at the time - play tested well - but ultimately didn't work out like we thought.
It's a hard sell trying to give great stats to someone like Gotch or Lewis, who most modern wrestling fans (and potential customers) have never heard of.

It's a hard sell trying to give great stats to someone like Gotch or Lewis, who most modern wrestling fans (and potential customers) have never heard of. In some ways, that's a good thing. I mean, Strangler Lewis ranked up there with Ruth and Dempsey among the elite athletes of his time. Learning what a monster that he was can't be ALL bad. But I for one was extremely excited to see him in the LOW lineup- and I'd like to see a bunch of other vintage-era guys. I must say though, that these vintage wrestlers have strong cards. Frank Gotch and Jim Londos are, in physical size, small men. Would they really handle bigger wrestlers so easy in real life as they do in the game? As for his size... Muhammed Ali is still widely considered among the all-time greatest heavyweight boxers of all time. Would he be able to compete with the 250 + pound heavyweights of today? I don't know, but my inclination would be to say yes. Likewise, if small guys like HBK (225 pounds), Y2J (231) and others can be multiple-time heavyweight champions in the modern era, I don't think that it's much of a strech to imagine the Strangler winning a title (or 10) today. At 265 pounds, the Strangler was the same weight as current WWE Champ Randy Orton, 5 pounds lighter than HHH and 5 pounds heavier than John Cena. Heck, Edge (240 pounds) is being booked credibly against the Undertaker (300 pounds). All those weights are what the guys are LISTED at... I have no doubt that some may be slightly smaller than that. As for guys in the 200-210 pound range.... if Rey Mysterio can be credibly booked at 5'3", 140 pounds... I think that the rest of these guys could manage.

Last month, I actually set up a poll right here on this board asking who did better in matches between Jim Londos and his historical enemy Strangler Lewis in others' LOW feds. I just checked and the current results are Londos 8 and Lewis 4. filsingergames.proboards106.com/index.cgi?board=lpolls&action=display&thread=262 In my own personal fed, if I am remembering my records correctly, Lewis is 2-1 so far because he just recently made his debut on my RAW brand. Lewis defeated Hacksaw Jim Duggan and later S.D. Jones but lost to Buddy Rose. I am interested to see how Lewis does overall in my fed and against Londos. Speaking of Londos, he does really well for me and he is my current Intercontinental Champion.

Wow, one of my posts actually went through. I keep getting told on both boards that I've been banned.

I don't claim to speak for the rest of the LOW team, but I believe his final stats were toned down from the draft we provided. I no longer have the original, but I believe the changes were: Charts were B/A/B/B instead of B/B/B/C He had a "dazed-1" on Level 2 Defense in place of a "hurt-2" A dazed 1? Did Brody have something like that before he got the Down-3 on his Level 2 Defense? ;D

*Laughs* I'm amazed no one brought up Orton's 0 power yet.
