The tag team main event and the semi-final six man tag had a real Japanese feeling where you would see usual pairing of American competitors in tag team action. Great stuff as always Crue.

Thanks for the comments guys and next up is the tour ending show for KRU...
LOW Kings Road United - Nakajima Sports Center - Sapporo, Japan (Card #764)
1) S.D. Jones defeated C.W. Anderson: The popular S.D. “Special Delivery” Jones of ASW scored another big win on the tour as he defeated C.W. Anderson. It was rough for Jones early as Anderson was able to dominate especially after tagging him with the Anderson Left Hand. Jones bounced back strong, though, and caught Anderson in a sleeper hold followed by the Headbutt for a big near fall. He had Anderson reeling after that and would connect with a second Headbutt to score the pin.
2) Ox Baker defeated Doug Gilbert: The nefarious Ox Baker, the “Master of the Heart Punch”, showed why he is so feared in this battle with PCW star Doug Gilbert. Baker, accompanied by his manager Abdullah Farouk, jumped Gilbert at ringside launching into a brutal assault. Gilbert got on offense briefly before Baker took over again. He attacked Gilbert in and out of the ring, narrowly avoiding a disqualification, before blasting him with the Heart Punch to score the pin.
3) Masked Superstar defeated Genghis Khan: A battle of two tough men saw the Masked Superstar take on SWA star Genghis Khan. Coming off of an upset loss to S.D. Jones in Chiba, Khan was hoping to get a big win over the masked man. Early action saw the Superstar trap Khan in the Cobra Hold but it was broken up in the ropes. Khan battled back furiously but was unable to get the victory as after a battle on the outside it was the Superstar hitting his trademark Spinning Neckbreaker to score the pin.
4) Johnny Saint & Jim Brunzell defeated The Destroyer & Jushin Liger by DQ: A feature tag team battle saw Johnny Saint & Jim Brunzell, of the GWA and AWE respectively, take on the KRU tandem of The Destroyer & Jushin “Thunder” Liger. Early action saw The Destroyer looking very impressive as he scored near submissions on Saint using the intelligent sleeper hold and Figure Four Leglock. Brunzell was able to reverse the momentum and looked great during his time in. Unfortunately a great bout ended on a fluke technicality as Liger was disqualified after he hit the referee by accident with the shoda as he charged at Saint on the floor. The official was stunned but Liger helped him back up graciously accepting the result and both he and The Destroyer shook hands with Saint and Brunzell afterward. Ironically it was the third disqualification decision that Brunzell was involved in on the tour.
5) The Mongols defeated Nick Bockwinkel & Boris Zhukov: The Mongols (Bepo & Geeto) faced the unique pairing of free agent stars Nick Bockwinkel & Boris Zhukov in this match. Bockwinkel, a noted two-time former LOW World Heavyweight champion, used his veteran experience and technical skill to handle his much larger opponents. Things were looking good for the Bockwinkel and Zhukov tandem until Bepo helped turn the tide. He assaulted Zhukov and set him up for Geeto who locked on the Gobi Nerve Hold going for the submission. He locked it on as Bepo cut off a save attempt by Bockwinkel and the end result was Zhukov tapping out to end the match.
6) Bruiser Brody defeated Giant Baba: The first of three main event battles saw Shohei “Giant” Baba and freelance star Bruiser Brody engage in a tremendous bout. Both men came ready to fight and traded blows in and out of the ring throughout this one. Both were also busted open during the course of the battle. Brody nailed Baba with a piledriver and twisting vertical suplex for a pair of near falls. Baba battled back and connected with the 16-Mon Kick (boot to the face) and Russian Legsweep for some near falls of his own. The fans were going crazy as this one built to the finish with both men traded stiff blows back and forth. Brody gained the upper hand and connected with a running legdrop that left Baba in a bad way. Moments later it was Brody lifting Baba up for a One Hand Bodyslam and applying the press to score the pin. It was a huge victory for Brody who celebrated by swinging his chain and leaving through the crowd causing them to run away from him. Baba, who was a bloody mess, had to be helped out of the ring by the seconds but he was able to walk to the back on his own receiving cheers from the fans.
7) Rikidozan & Antonio Inoki defeated Mr. Fuji & Mr. Saito by DQ: A heated tag team bout saw Rikidozan & Antonio Inoki lock horns with Mr. Fuji & Mr. Saito coming off of the altercation the night before in Chiba. Rikidozan took a heck of a beating in this one as Fuji and Saito got the heat on him for an extended stretch. That included Fuji scoring a near fall with a suplex and Saito going for the submission with the Scorpion Leglock. He managed to tag out and Inoki exploded on offense including trapping Saito in the Octopus Hold for a submission chance. He also scored with the belly to back suplex and top rope kneedrop. The bout really got heated building to the controversial finish as Fuji drew a snake eyes disqualification after tossing salt into the eyes of Rikidozan. The battle continued post-match with Fuji and Saito holding the upper hand until the blinded Rikidozan recovered and was able to help Inoki drive them out of the ring.
8) LOW International Heavyweight title: Harley Race defeated The Sheik to win the title: History was made as former two-time LOW World Heavyweight champion Harley Race also became a two-time LOW International Heavyweight champion as he won the belt from The Sheik in the main event. Arguably the greatest champion in the history of the title, The Sheik, accompanied by his manager Abdullah Farouk, hoped to turn back a strong challenge from the Kansas City, MO, native. Backed by the support of a sell-out crowd in Sapporo, Race dominated the early action including scoring a big near fall with a vertical suplex. He also tied up The Sheik with his painful version of the Indian Deathlock. The two fought out to the floor several times and it was on the outside that The Sheik was able to get in some major offense. He managed to trap Race in the sadistic hammerlock and then scored a near fall with the elbowdrop. Race bounced back and hit his trademark Piledriver but he was unable to go for the pin as Farouk distracted both him and the referee. The Sheik took over as he executed a foreign object attack on Race before again taking the battle out to the floor. Late in the bout, with The Sheik having been busted open, Race came off of the top rope with a flying bodypress for a big near fall. Moments later it was Race connecting with a Running Lariat (ch) and covering The Sheik to score the pin. The crowd erupted in cheers as Race, representing Kings Road United, was crowned the new LOW International Heavyweight champion.
●Manager Abdullah Farouk was visibly upset after The Sheik, a record four-time LOW International Heavyweight champion, lost the title to Harley Race. He spoke to local reporters and said that the “biased officiating” in KRU helped Race become the new champion. He also said that the “noble” Sheik will have his revenge by going to Madison Square Garden in New York, NY (Card #767) and winning the LOW World Heavyweight title from Frank Gotch. It will be a rare world title opportunity for the Sheik who has been a mainstay in the competition for the LOW International Heavyweight title over the last few years. As for Race, the new champion happily spoke to the press and said that he may show up at MSG to challenge the winner of the Gotch-Sheik match but that he must also concentrate on his first title defense which is scheduled to take place on the next PCW card at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, CA (Card #772), against Don Leo Jonathan.

That was a stellar title bout between Race & Sheik, either outcome would've been awesome. Seeing Harley take the Int. belt for a second time is really cool stuff. I'm not much of a Sheik fan, but in your system he is one of my favorites to follow with such a great & rich history he has for you...

That was a real fun bout to roll out and could have gone either way. The Sheik has been off the charts good for me as the dice really seem to love him, though I guess Abdullah Farouk and disqualification decisions have helped him out as well. Thanks for the comments Crimson.

Race finally knocks off the Sheik which looked like a great moment. Baba puts over Brody in Japan which is awesome. Would like to see a rematch in the tag team semi-main event down the road.

I just got done reading the last two nights of the KRU tour.
Some of my favorite matchups from those 2 shows were Liger vs Fuji, Inoki vs Saito, Rikidozan, Baba, and Destroyer vs Brody and Mongols, Saint and Brunzell vs Destroyer and Liger, Rikidozan and Inoki vs Fuji and Saito, Brody vs Baba, and of course The Sheik vs Race leading to Race winning the title.
Good stuff cruefan68!

Thanks for the comments Bookerbill and Vegas. The KRU tours are so much fun to put together. I only do them three times per calendar year in my fed, plus a Tokyo Dome show, but I love coming up with who will participate on the tour not to mention the unique match-up possibilities. I try to give them the feel of a traditional Japan tour. Thanks for noting your favorite matches Vegas. Also Bookerbill I think that a rematch between those two teams is a strong possibility for the next tour (Card #792-794). Hope to have another show posted soon and thanks as always for reading and giving your feedback.
