Great seeing Brody qualify for the PWI Invitational Cup Tournament... Not a huge fan, but it's better than seeing Valentine go through... I really like how things are shaping up for the introduction of the IWA... The addition of the Pringle Dynasty should make for some interesting moments, to say the least... Really enjoyed the closing bout as well... Although it ended in a draw, it looked like all four competitors brought their A-game with them... Looking forward to the WrestleCade IX weekend... Looks like there will be lots on the go... Excellent work!

Congrats to Brody for advancing in the tournament and I am looking forward to WrestleCade IX weekend in Las Vegas.
Speaking of Brody and Las Vegas, his widow was in town last month during the CAC to accept a posthumous award on behalf of Brody. Me and Chad saw her talking to Tom for awhile during one of the nights of the live event matches.

That was a great debut for Percy Pringle III and Brian Cage winning for the PD is top notch, plus the IWA could be on troubled waters if Pringle does build a Dynasty. I liked that John Pesek won, but the Poffo segment was cool and I would not be sure about him if I was Savage, fun stuff Crue...

Thanks for the comments Pariah, Vegas and Crimson. The PWI Cup is always fun to plan out and I figured Brody vs. Valentine was an awesome way to kick things off. That was a nice story about Brody's widow and Tom, thanks for sharing Vegas. Also Vegas I just want to let you know that you have front row seating comps for all of the events in Las Vegas during WrestleCade IX weekend The IWA is something I am really psyched about and hope that it will add something new and exciting to my fed. It will be a blend of ROH, CHIKARA, Evolve, CWFH, and the other indy sets. I figured it would be a great way to blend all of the talent together and it was really cool using Percy Pringle III and Brian Cage for the first time. I can't believe this topic is at 250 pages, wow! Hoping to post the next show sometime this week. Thanks for reading and commenting guys I really appreciate it.

I am lookng forward to your Indy hybrid fed rolling out. The expansion of the Indy Filsinger Universe (hey that might be good name for someone's fed) in the last two to three years has been awesome. Artwork that is off the charts and impeccable card mechanics have really raised the gaming experience to a new level in my opinion. I personally have found it difficult to balance my playing time between my legends cards and the Indy feds. It was only a few years ago when I had a similar dilemma when faced with the decision to play Legends or COTG.

It was only a few years ago when I had a similar dilemma when faced with the decision to play Legends or COTG. That is spot on Bookerbill, I couldn't have said it better myself. With so many cards to use and already having a lot of territories in my fed I decided to phase out ROH and CHIKARA so I could mix all of the great indy sets together into one promotion. I will still be using elements from those feds, such as Code of Honor and King of Trios, but now I can set up a hybrid roster which should be fun. They are tough decisions to make but also nice ones to have to make as well. This game has been a godsend to me especially during tough times as it is a great escape plus we have such an awesome and supportive community on here. Keep those dice rolling

LOW Pacific Coast Wrestling - Municipal Auditorium - San Jose, CA (Card #872)
1) Ray Stevens defeated S.D. Jones: The opening contest saw S.D. Jones of ASW taking on Ray “The Crippler” Stevens who was returning from a headlining tour of Kings Road United in Japan. Jones held his own in this one including twice nailing Stevens with the Headbutt but unfortunately the referee was down at the time. Stevens struck back with the Crippling Piledriver for a big near fall before delivering a knee lift followed by a Jumping Knee Smash to score the pin.
2) Lash Leroux defeated Dewey Robertson: The popular “Ragin’ Cajun” Lash Leroux out of Lafayette, LA, took on Sharpe Sports Agency, Inc. member Dewey Robertson who was accompanied by “Pretty Boy” Larry Sharpe. Robertson was looking to barrel through Leroux and stake his claim to a higher spot on the card but he was literally whip lashed by the Louisiana native. After countering a hip toss into a spinning head scissors the fiery Leroux went on a great offensive. He scored near falls with the Bourbon Street Blues and spinout power bomb causing much grief for Sharpe on the outside. He then hit the twisting Northern Lights Suplex going for the pin but Sharpe ran in to break it up. Leroux was ready, though, and he dropkicked the meddling manager out of the ring before hitting Whiplash 2000, a combination three-quarter nelson and Russian Legsweep, on Robertson to score the pin. A stunned Sharpe and Robertson looked on as Leroux celebrated his upset win with the fans at ringside.
3) Love Brothers vs. Texas Hangmen was a Draw: Two of the top ranked teams in PCW squared off as the Love Brothers (Reginald & Hartford Love) took on the Texas Hangmen (Killer & Psycho). Both teams were looking to score a big victory and went all out in a back and forth battle. That included each team scoring near falls with their respective finishers, the Double Slam by the Love Brothers and the Hangmen Backbreaker by the double tough masked men from Waco, TX. Reginald Love showed what he was made of by escaping defeat several times despite being busted open by the Hangmen. Hartford Love picked up the slack and battled hard against the Hangmen down the home stretch. Neither team was able to gain a fall, though, and the bell sounded ending this hard fought match in a time limit draw.
4) Singapore Cane Match: The Sandman defeated P.N. News: The brewing rivalry between “The Rapmaster” P.N. News and The Sandman led to this rare Singapore Cane Match being signed between the two. The Sandman, a master of the Singapore cane, countered the rap music entrance of News by coming out to his traditional Enter Sandman by Metallica. Smoking a cigarette and drinking a beer, The Sandman made his way through the crowd many of whom cheered him on against the popular News. Both men were armed with canes and the brutal shots each took led to this being a pretty quick bout. The Sandman got the upper hand when he sent News into the ropes and blasted him with a cane shot to the head. News fell to the mat in a heap and The Sandman followed with a Legdrop to score the pin. The victory wasn’t enough for The Sandman who taunted News post-match before pouring a beer on his head. News recovered and flipped out going after The Sandman who quickly left the ring. News then grabbed the mic and dared The Sandman to meet him in another specialty match on the next PCW card in Medford, OR (Card #877). The Sandman agreed to it but demanded to know what kind of match and News answered that it would be a Tables Match drawing a big cheer from the crowd.
5) Roddy Piper, Larry Hennig, & Curt Hennig defeated Playboy Buddy Rose, Red Bastien, & Billy Red Lyons: Six-man tag team action saw “Rowdy” Roddy Piper join forces with Larry & Curt Hennig to battle the Sharpe Sports Agency, Inc. team of Playboy Buddy Rose, Red Bastien, & Billy Red Lyons. “Pretty Boy” Larry Sharpe was at ringside hoping to lead his men to a big win. The SSA, Inc. got the heat on Larry Hennig for an extended stretch which included Rose scoring a near fall by using a foreign object. They also got the upper hand on Curt Hennig until he nailed Lyons with a standing dropkick and made the tag. Piper was a house of fire as he entered and did a number on both Lyons and Rose. He also took the match to the outside several times and nearly won it by count out. The finish saw Piper trap Rose in the Sleeper Hold but Bastien ran in to break it up. Piper got the better of that exchange and with the Hennig’s taking care of Bastien and Lyons he caught a stunned Rose with a Bridging Back Suplex to score the pin.
6) Coal Miner’s Glove Match: Dutch Savage defeated Fritz Von Goering: The Coal Miner’s Glove Match, the specialty of Dutch Savage, was featured as the popular Scranton, PA, native took on the rugged Fritz Von Goering out of Berlin, Germany. Savage is undefeated in this style of match and as he recently displayed by beating The Executioner in the CMG match on LOW All-Star Wrestling he is a true master of it. Von Goering was looking to be the first to defeat him in his specialty match which would have been a feather in the cap of the German star. There were some tense moments in the bout but none more so than when Savage attempted to climb the pole only to be crotched on the top rope by Von Goering. That led to Von Goering, who had been busted open by that point, being the one to retrieve the glove which should have given him an advantage. Savage somehow reversed the momentum and was able to get the glove away from Von Goering. The crowd erupted in cheers as Savage used the weapon delivering the Smash with Glove on a bloody Von Goering to score the pin.
7) PWI Invitational Cup Tournament Qualifying Match: Tommy Rich defeated Randy Savage to advance: The qualifying round of the seventh annual PWI Invitational Cup Tournament continued as SWA star “Wildfire” Tommy Rich took on freelance star “Macho Man” Randy Savage. There was a ton of controversy surrounding Savage going into the match largely due to what happened between him and his father, Angelo Poffo, on a recent AWE card. That may have affected him going into the match with Rich who has one of the better won-loss records in LOW. Savage reversed an early attack by Rich and after both men went down from a double clothesline he came off the top rope with his patented Flying Elbowdrop for a big near fall. Rich barely got his shoulder up there and Savage questioned the count by the referee. Savage then tossed Rich to the outside and hit the flying axe handle from the top rope to the floor. It was looking bad for Rich but then he began battling back and scored a near fall with an elbow smash. Both men then traded piledrivers before Rich surprised Savage with the Thesz Press and scored the pin. It was a shocking finish as many expected the “Macho Man” to advance to the tournament even against another highly ranked opponent in Rich. The crowd was split in their support and some even jeered as Rich was declared the winner. Rich went to shake hands with Savage afterward but the “Macho Man” turned his back on him and vaulted over the top rope to the floor angrily returning to the back.
8) LOW International Heavyweight title: Jimmy Snuka defeated Harley Race to win the title: History was made in the main event as Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka defeated Harley Race to win the LOW International Heavyweight title. Race went into the match on a roll having made eight successful title defenses but things may have caught up to him as he met a buzz saw in Snuka. It was a battle of two men who have had incredible success in LOW as both are two-time former LOW World Heavyweight champions and they have also held the LOW International Heavyweight title, Race being a three-time champion and Snuka holding it once. Snuka was on fire from the opening bell and never really let up. After a battle on the floor he tossed Race back inside and came off of the top rope with the Superfly to a big pop from the crowd. A late cover led to Race kicking out just before the three count, though, and the crowd let out a collective gasp. Race struggled to get back into it but it seemed like the damage had been done. Snuka scored another near fall with the leap frog and chop and it was looking real bad for Race. Moments later Snuka went back up to the top rope and connected with a second Superfly and this time he scored the pin. The crowd went crazy as Snuka captured the gold for a second time and “Rowdy” Roddy Piper led a host of wrestlers into the ring to celebrate with him. Race made his way through the pack and showed great class by shaking hands with Snuka before the celebration continued.

Gotta love it anytime I see The Sandman in a Singapore Cane match... Loved the beer-pouring sequence at the conclusion... Wicked!
Big win for Tommy Rich to advance to the PWI Invitational Cup Tournament... Count me in as one of the 'surprised many' that Macho Man failed to qualify... There will be more to this story, no doubt...
And a superb victory by Superfly to capture the big prize from the very formidable Harley Race... Classy move by the former title holder to shake hands with the new champ... Excellent stuff!

Congratulations to Snuka on a historic victory. Even Roddy Piper is celebrating!?!?! I'm with Pariah in my surprise at Macho Man going down to defeat.

When your IWA opens its doors (can't wait!), will you start a shiny, new thread to commemorate the occasion? Or will you just keep everything in this one?
