What a huge victory by Jones over FVG, plus it's a shame that the PWiT winner in Bruiser Brody lost to Thesz, but yes Lou is a tough champion...

Cruefan + MSG has equaled magic for some time and 916 was no exception. A slow start to the night perhaps but The Sheeperherders shocker over Atlas and Brazil took things up a notch and the momentum built from that point onwards. Great finish to the Junior Heavyweight Title Match. Gotch has always run hot and cold for me so perhaps the upset by Hutton was not as big as you might initial think. The last four matches of the night were fantastic and might be best run of consecutive matches you have ever presented. Great night.

Thanks for the comments Pariah, Daytondave, Crimson, Bookerbill and Kamala. The MSG shows are always fun to put together and I am glad you enjoyed it. Thesz vs. Brody, Andre vs. The Sheik and Lufisto vs. Mercedes were my favorite matches. All three could have gone either way and it would have been something to see The Sheik end the undefeated streak of Andre. Savage vs. Brody being reignited in my fed is something I am really looking forward to and I am happy that you liked the post-match action. As for the upsets, there were a few on the card but S.D. Jones winning like that was pretty cool. I was trying to build up Fritz Von Goering in the NWC so of course he lost lol. Those darn dice can really mess with things but I wouldn't have it any other way. Up next is some action from Pacific Coast Wrestling...
LOW Pacific Coast Wrestling - San Diego Sports Arena - San Diego, CA (Card #917)
1) Brad Armstrong defeated Nikita Breznikov by Count Out: The opening contest saw the popular Brad Armstrong out of Marietta, GA, take on Nikita Breznikov appearing courtesy of ASW. Breznikov looked good in the early going catching Armstrong with a clothesline out of the corner and a bodyslam. Armstrong quickly rebounded and had Breznikov on the defensive for a good stretch. He caught him in the abdominal stretch and followed with a blistering dropkick. Breznikov bailed out of the ring and threw his arms up before storming to the back losing via count out. The fans jeered the actions of Breznikov but were happy that Armstrong picked up the win.
2) John Tolos defeated Doug Gilbert: Doug Gilbert had the tough task of taking on John Tolos, a former co-holder of the LOW World tag team titles with his brother Chris Tolos. Gilbert likely saw the dominant win by Tolos over Cousin Luke on the last PCW card and tried to get the edge early. He pounded away on Tolos until he was nailed with a thumb to the throat by the “Golden Greek”. Tolos then took it to the outside and roughed up Gilbert including dropping him throat first on the guard rail. Tolos continued his attack back inside and executed the Flying Knee Drop to score the pin. It was a solid win for Tolos who could be serious trouble for all future opponents in PCW.
3) The Grappler & Ray Stevens defeated P.N. News & Lash Leroux: Exciting tag team action saw the “Rap master” P.N. News & “Rajin Cajun” Lash Leroux team up to battle The Grappler & Ray “The Crippler” Stevens. Both teams went all out attempting to win this match and that included The Grappler using his controversial Loaded Boot on both men. Leroux put on a great performance which included him catching Stevens with the Whiplash at one point resulting in a big near fall. The Grappler made the save there and he and Stevens put forth a solid attack from that point forward. They isolated News for a good stretch forcing Leroux to make a pair of timely saves. The finish saw The Grappler use the Loaded Boot nailing Leroux in the head to score the pin.
4) Pepper Gomez defeated Playboy Buddy Rose: The popular Pepper Gomez out of Mexico City, Mexico, had the full support of the crowd as he took on Playboy Buddy Rose, a member of Sharpe Sports Agency, Inc. “Pretty Boy” Larry Sharpe was in the corner for Rose and hoping that the Playboy could pick up a big win. Gomez never gave Rose a chance as he quickly took over in the early going and caught him with the Mexican Cradle for a big near fall. Rose barely had time to recover and a failed distraction by Sharpe saw Gomez execute the Mexican Cradle for a second time to score the pin. It was an impressive victory for Gomez over a man with a lengthy track record in LOW.
5) The Sandman defeated Jimmy Snuka: Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, a former two-time LOW World Heavyweight champion, took on the hardcore icon known as The Sandman in a feature match. The Sandman jumped Snuka at the bell and quickly nailed him with the Heinekenrana and White Russian Leg Sweep. That was followed with a Singapore Cane shot out of view of the referee but Snuka kicked out before the three count. The Sandman didn’t let that bother him and he continued with a brutal attack. He fired Snuka out of the ring and hit him over the head with a beer can. Snuka was out of it by that point and as he struggled to climb back into the ring he was nailed with another Singapore Cane shot by The Sandman. The referee grabbed the weapon away but didn’t call for a disqualification. Instead he dropped to the mat and counted the pin giving The Sandman a huge victory. The crowd jeered the decision as The Sandman celebrated by downing a few beers including pouring one out over a downed Snuka. It was a surreal sight to see Snuka laid out in decisive fashion and the win by The Sandman was no doubt his biggest to date since joining PCW.
6) Tom Prichard defeated Curt Hennig: After dropping a decision to Dr. Tom Prichard on the last PCW card, Curt Hennig was looking for some revenge in this rematch. Unfortunately for him Prichard was on top of his game and went into his bag of tricks to pull out another big victory. Hennig seemed off a step most of the way as Prichard seemed to have him well scouted. He struck with signature moves like the enzuigiri and slingshot suplex to keep Hennig on the defensive. Hennig made a nice comeback late in the bout but Prichard cut that off and pulled out a pair of brass knuckles delivering a Foreign Object attack to score the pin. The referee missed that action by Prichard who defeated Hennig for a second straight time in similar fashion. Prichard boasted to ringsiders about his win as an angry Hennig stared at him from the ring. Hennig then grabbed the mic and said that Prichard could never beat him straight up and said that since he loves to cheat he challenged him to a Texas Death Match. Prichard was about to walk off without accepting when Hennig decided to up the ante and said that if he loses the match he will leave PCW. Prichard responded saying that he was going to accept as there would be nothing better than forcing Hennig to pack his bags. The match was then made official for the next PCW card in Los Angeles, CA (Card #926).
7) Dutch Savage & Don Leo Jonathan defeated Red Bastien & Billy Red Lyons: A tag team challenge match was up next as Dutch Savage and “The Mormon Giant” Don Leo Jonathan took on the Sharpe Sports Agency Inc. team of the “Flying Redheads”, Red Bastien & Billy Red Lyons. “Pretty Boy” Larry Sharpe was at ringside and after the earlier failure of Playboy Buddy Rose he was hoping to guide his team to a big win. Savage was very aggressive in the early going especially going after Bastien who owns a singles win over him. Lyons tagged in and turned things around until Savage caught him with a big knee drop. That left an opening for the “Mormon Giant” who took over on Lyons using his size and speed to dominate. The finish saw Jonathan level Lyons with an Atomic Drop to score the pin as Savage fended off Bastien in the corner. Sharpe was livid over the loss and was seen speaking strong to Lyons and Bastien as they left for the back. Savage and Jonathan, meanwhile, celebrated their victory with a high five and cheers from the crowd.
8) LOW International Heavyweight title: Roddy Piper defeated Greg Valentine© by DQ: The main event saw “Rowdy” Roddy Piper going for the gold as he took on Greg “The Hammer” Valentine, accompanied by his manager Captain Lou Albano, for the LOW International Heavyweight title. Valentine has had a pretty impressive championship run but a determined Piper was looking to win his first championship in LOW. Piper was all over Valentine early including trapping him in his own finisher, the figure four leglock, which was broken up in the ropes. Piper then trapped him in the Sleeper Hold going for the submission win but Albano grabbed his leg from the outside breaking up the hold. Piper then stomped on Albano’s hand to cheers from the crowd but the slight distraction allowed Valentine to take over. The “Hammer” quickly took Piper down and before long trapped him in his trademark Figure Four Leglock. He applied the pressure going for the submission but somehow Piper was able to reverse it over and grab the ropes for a break. Valentine continued on his attack punishing Piper with such moves as the shoulder breaker, Valentine chops and falling elbow hammer. Piper battled back and hit a nice knee lift and swinging neckbreaker combo for a near fall. Things broke down when they went to the outside and it was Valentine getting disqualified snake eyes style when he hit Piper over the back with a chair. Piper was awarded the victory by disqualification but Valentine retained in his version four defense of the championship.

Huge victory for Sandman over a competitor as prolific as Jimmy Snuka... Was surprised that the ref did not call for the disqualification... Now that's what I call 'letting them fight'...
Curt Hennig is laying it all on the line with his challenge to Prichard... Will he be able to sink to his rival's level in order to save his career in PCW?
Was happy to see Piper gain the win over the Hammer... Unfortunately it was a DQ decision and he wasn't able to claim that title gold... Is a rematch in the cards for the Rowdy Scot? Hope so...
Another great show from the master of the multi-promotional, mixed era fed... Always a pleasure!

Gotta love putting your career on the line by Curt Hennig and that loss to Tom Prichard making that bold move by Hennig was huge, but can Prichard win again. I'm pulling for Piper to dethrone Valentine, plus I really wanted the Redheads of the SSAInc. to win that match...

Thanks for the comments Pariah, Kamala and Crimson. I am hoping to set up a Piper vs. Valentine rematch at some point and the Hennig-Prichard situation surprised me. I did not expect Prichard to beat him twice so now Hennig is putting his PCW career at stake. Should he lose he would definitely be a valuable signing for another territory so that is a huge match upcoming. Next up is action from SHIMMER and this time it is not at the Eagles Club. Hope you enjoy the action...
SHIMMER - Women Athletes - Volume 26 - The Olympic Theatre - Cicero, IL (Card #918)
1) Global Green Gangsters defeated Cherry Bomb & Evie: The SHIMMER debut at The Olympic Theatre opened with a brand new team called the Global Green Gangsters (“Rate Tank” Kellie Skater & Tomoka Nakagawa) taking on Cherry Bomb & Evie. 3G met during a recent training session in Japan and decided to pursue a tag team title opportunity in SHIMMER. Their opponents, Cherry Bomb & Evie, have already been successful in tag team competition so it was a big first test for 3G. Both teams showed great teamwork with quick tags and the opportunity for a win several times. Evie was the standout for her team keeping both opponents on the defensive for good stretches. Cherry Bomb nearly won it when she trapped Nakagawa in Anger As Beauty but she got to the ropes for a break. Late in the match it was 3G isolating Evie and Nakagawa picked up a big near fall with a basement dropkick. That set up Skater hitting Skate and Destroy on a stunned Evie to score the pin.
2) Jessicka Havok, Sassy Stephie, & Nevaeh defeated Courtney Rush, Jessica James, & Delilah Doom by DQ: Six-woman tag team action featured the popular trio of Courtney Rush, Jessica James, & Delilah Doom taking on Jessicka Havok, Sassy Stephie, & Nevaeh, the dangerous trio out of Ohio. James nearly won it for her team early when she caught Nevaeh with The JJ Kick for a big near fall. Stephie was the standout for her team helping to turn the advantage several times. The diminutive Doom took a beating from the opposition including Havok scoring a near fall with a chokeslam. The finish saw Stephie trap Doom in a Bridging Chinlock going for the submission but both Rush and James broke it up. James, in fact, dove off of the top rope onto Stephie and that was the reason for the disqualification decision as top rope save attempts on pins or submissions in tag team matches are illegal in LOW. Amber Gertner bravely tried to interview the winning team post-match but Havok got angry with her line of questioning and threatened her. That led to a surprise appearance by Thunderkitty who got into the face of Havok until she retreated along with Stephie and Nevaeh. It has been learned that Thunderkitty will face Havok one-on-one at Volume 27.
3) Athena defeated Malia Hosaka: Two popular stars squared off here as Athena took on Malia Hosaka. Both women are looking for a breakthrough win so this was an important match. Hosaka got the jump on Athena early but that advantage didn’t last long. Athena struck back with a missile dropkick (deathjump) and cartwheel double knee drop for a two count. The two battled furiously from there, including on the outside, before Hosaka made a fatal mistake. She went for a deathjump (ch) but Athena caught her up top and hit a nice superplex followed by a sidewinder slam. A stunned Hosaka then got back to her feet and Athena blasted her with an Enzuigiri to score the pin.
4) Angelus Layne defeated Jessie McKay: The beautiful Jessie McKay out of Sydney, Australia, took on the double tough Angelus Layne hailing from Hell, MI. Layne was dominant from the opening bell as McKay barely had a chance to get any offense in. She was nearly disqualified after hitting McKay with a chair on the outside but the referee waved it off ordering them back into the ring. Layne followed hitting Victory Layne, a TKO, but McKay impressively kicked out just before the three count. Layne kept up her attack, though, and quickly trapped McKay in the Angelock, a leg capture and half nelson hold, scoring an impressive submission victory.
5) Barbi Hayden defeated Heidi Lovelace: Malibu, CA, native Barbi Hayden is already becoming very popular in SHIMMER not just for her beauty but for her in-ring ability as well. This time out she took on the very capable Heidi Lovelace, a native of Lafayette, IN. Lovelace had a strong showing in the early going before Hayden took control. She scored a two count when she caught Lovelace with a corner headscissors converted into a cradle hold. Not looking to take any chances it was Hayden then nailing Lovelace with the Hayden Halo, an elevated spike DDT, to score a snake eyes pin. Amber Gertner caught up with Hayden at ringside following the match and she expressed her gratitude for the crowd support and said that her goal is to one day become the SHIMMER champion.
6) Glamour Girls defeated Lacey & Rain: The Glamour Girls (Leilani Kai & Judy Martin) took on the Minnesota Home Wrecking Crew (Lacey & Rain) in a battle of former SHIMMER tag team champions. It was all Glamour Girls from the opening bell as the veterans Kai and Martin took the fight to Lacey isolating her from her partner. Rain looked on visibly frustrated as Kai executed an over the knee backbreaker for a submission chain. Rain then saved Lacey from a near defeat when Martin had her pinned after a Power Bomb. Lacey was busted open late in the bout and it was Martin picking up another near fall after a throat drop on the ropes. Kai took advantage of a fatigued Lacey and trapped her in a Boston Crab to score a submission victory as Martin prevented Rain from making the save.
7) Madison Eagles defeated Saraya Knight by DQ: SHIMMER promoter Dave Prazak entered the ring following the ring introductions and announced that the winner of this match would face Mercedes Martinez for the SHIMMER title in the main event at Volume 27. Martinez then entered the ring clutching her newly won championship having defeated Lufisto in a No DQ Match held at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY (Card #916). She went over to Eagles and the two had a brief stare down before shaking hands. Martinez then turned to face Knight and the defiant British star turned her back on the champion and stared at the corner. Martinez threw up her hands and left the ring with Prazak to watch the match. The two women now knew that the stakes were high and they went all out to achieve victory. Knight came the closest when she caught Eagles with a DDT for a near fall. It wound up going to the outside where, right in front of Prazak and Martinez, it was Knight grabbing the SHIMMER title belt and decking Eagles with it resulting in a snake eyes disqualification decision.
The crowd jeered the actions of Knight who wound up being jumped by Martinez after the bout. Eagles joined in and it was a two-on-one attack on Knight which was perhaps justified. Then out of nowhere it was Lufisto hitting the ring and decking Martinez and that set off a wild four way brawl. Prazak frantically called for LOW officials to hit the ring and attempt to pry the four women apart. They were ultimately successful but not before many blows were traded back and forth. Prazak then grabbed the mic and announced a change for Volume 27 and that instead of Eagles challenging Martinez for the title he was adding both Lufisto and Knight to the match and it would now be a Four Way Elimination Match for the SHIMMER championship. The crowd erupted in cheers for what promises to be a great bout.
8) SHIMMER tag team titles – Steel Cage Match: Canadian Ninjas© defeated Cheerleader Melissa & Sara Del Ray to retain the titles: The main event was a rematch from WrestleCade IX as Cheerleader Melissa & Sara Del Ray attempted to regain the SHIMMER tag team titles from the Canadian Ninjas (Portia Perez & Nicole Matthews) but this time it would be inside of a Steel Cage. The Ninjas, in particular Perez, were clearly against this rematch taking place inside the cage but SHIMMER promoter Dave Prazak made sure that the match would go on as scheduled. Perez tried to run out of the cage after the bell rang but she was quickly pulled back in kicking and screaming by the challengers. Melissa dominated her in the early going until Perez countered a backdrop attempt. The Ninjas hit Funky Cold Medina on Melissa but Del Ray made a last second save. Del Ray laid out Matthews in the process and that allowed Melissa to hit the Kudoh Driver for a big near fall. Del Ray had some great moments in the match including sending both of the Ninjas head first into the cage several times. She also scored near falls on both with the Royal Butterfly. Matthews was busted open late in the bout forcing Perez to work most of the time. Del Ray punished Perez with the released German suplex and hit a power bomb for a big near fall. Melissa then caught Matthews in the Kondo Clutch going for the submission but Perez made the save. The finish of a hard fought battle saw the bloody Matthews survive an offensive by Del Ray and send her head first into the cage. A tag followed and the spunky Perez hopped in and nailed Del Ray with the Quick Dropkick to the head resulting in the pin. As a result the Ninjas were successful in a very tough version one defense of the titles.

The main event was unreal! SDR and Cheerleader Melissa looked great, but the Canadian Ninjas proved they could get the job done inside the cage...
Enjoyed the brutal match between Eagles and Knight, despite the DQ finish... The post-match altercation was a cool way to set up the Four Way Elimination Match for the Shimmer Championship...
Angelus Layne continues to impress... I look to see her as a contender before long... Great stuff!
