LOW All-Star Wrestling (Episode 68) - WMC-TV5 Studios - Memphis, TN (Card #1091)Bullet Points:
• Announcers Lance Russell & Dave Brown opened the pre-WrestleCade 11 weekend broadcast by informing everyone that the full card lineups for the events would be posted on the LOW website following the show. Russell said that the one match that has everyone talking is the main event for WrestleCade 11 where Bruiser Brody will challenge Andre the Giant for the LOW World Heavyweight title. Brown agreed and said that later in the broadcast PWI Editor Bill Apter will have exclusive pre-recorded interviews with both men.
• LOW Commissioner Charlie Cox appeared via satellite from company headquarters in New York, NY, stating that he had suspended Big John Studd and fined him $10,000 for his post-match attack on a referee at Madison Square Garden. That came after Studd suffered an upset loss to CWA newcomer Scott Taylor. The scheduled tag team match for ASW with Taylor and “Wildfire” Tommy Rich against Studd and Larry Zbyszko was changed to Studd’s manager J.J. Dillon replacing him. Cox initially deemed a suitable replacement would be named but once Dillon threatened to file a lawsuit over the fine and suspension he informed the manager that he would have to get into the ring on ASW instead. Cox also announced that a one-on-one rematch between Taylor and Studd has been signed for WrestleCade 11.
• An exclusive video aired from the recent card at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY (Card #1085) where Bruiser Brody won the 12-Man Gold Star Battle Royal to earn the LOW World Heavyweight title shot at WrestleCade 11. It was shown from the perspective of KRU founder Rikidozan who was defeated by Brody that night. The camera tracked Rikidozan to the backstage area where he came upon a scene of his protégé Antonio Inoki arguing with Lou Thesz (Golden Age Wrestling) and Magnum T.A. (CWA). Inoki was frustrated about being eliminated by Magnum in the heat of the battle while Thesz tried to play peacemaker between the two. It wound up with Rikidozan taking the side of Inoki and getting into it with Thesz, who he eliminated from the match. LOW officials moved in to prevent a physical altercation and challenges were tossed around between the four. In the end, they agreed to face off in a best two-out-of-three falls tag team match which will headline the Tokyo Dome card (Card #1101) opening the new year in LOW.
• Promotional videos aired for Kings Road United and the pending debut of Lucha Underground. KRU promoted their next tour (Cards# 1092-1094) which will feature Combat Zone Wrestling stars Masada and Sick Nick Mondo. The two will be in for one show only, at the Chiba Port Arena in Chiba, Japan (Card #1093), facing off in a Cage of Death Match. This will be their third extreme match in KRU and each man has one victory so an ultimate winner will be decided. Other stars featured on the tour will be Mil Mascaras, Davey Richards, Playboy Buddy Rose, Finlay, Ivan Koloff, “The Ego” Robert Anthony and the Rockness Monsters (Johnny Goodtime & Johnny Yuma). In addition, it was announced that legendary stars
Sting and the
Great Muta have been signed to a singles match at the Tokyo Dome…The Lucha Underground video had some mysterious masked images and shadowy figures performing Lucha Libre style moves. The video concluded inviting everyone to join them at The Temple in Boyle Heights in Los Angeles, CA (Card #1103) for what promises to be an historic night of action. Brown said that he is very intrigued by Lucha Underground especially since no roster has been announced to date so we should expect some big surprises there.

6) PG-13 (J.C. Ice & Wolfie D) defeated Texas Hangmen (Killer & Psycho)
(Ice pinned Killer – Tilt-A-Whirl, a tilt-a-whirl slam by Wolfie D slamming Ice on top of Killer)Match Highlights:
Larry Zbyszko & J.J. Dillon scored a controversial win over Tommy Rich & Scott Taylor in the opening contest. Dillon, replacing the suspended Big John Studd, did a decent job only tagging in when Zbyszko had the upper hand. In the end, it was outside interference by the “Million $ Man” Ted Dibiase and his bodyguard Virgil that decided it. Virgil distracted the referee as Zbyszko battle Rich. Dibiase then tripped up Taylor from the outside and Dillon pinned him for the win. There was clearly some collusion as Dillon handed Dibiase an envelope as they laughed their way to the back afterward. Dibiase later returned for his match scoring a strong win over Jake “The Milkman” Milliman. Dibiase stuffed a $100 bill in the mouth of Milliman afterward as Virgil waved around a big wad of cash. Rich, seething from the earlier loss, ran in and dropkicked Dibiase from behind sending him out of the ring. He then decked Virgil and took the cash passing it around to studio audience members as Dibiase went ballistic at the announce table. It was later learned that Rich and Dibiase have been signed to a grudge match at WrestleCade 11.
The television main event saw the ASW team of PG-13 score a big win over their PCW rivals the Texas Hangmen. Sherri Martel, the head of Sherri Sports Agency, Inc., was not at ringside as she is on her way to Kings Road United in Japan managing Playboy Buddy Rose. Her absence proved costly to the Hangmen as PG-13 picked up what many consider to be an upset win. The Hangmen were furious throwing chairs around as the broadcast ended…Golden Age Wrestling stars Wild Bull Curry and Yukon Eric looked strong in their wins. Curry won a hard-fought bout over S.D. Jones connecting with a kneedrop after Jones missed with a dive off the top rope. Eric, preparing for a rematch with the “Russian Lion” George Hackenschmidt in Milwaukee, WI (Card #1095) showed the power attack that got him a win over Hackenschmidt by roughing up Savage-T…The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) looked what else but fantastic in their tag team win. During that match, it was announced that the two are signed to compete in the Real World Tag League for Kings Road United with the full lineups available on the LOW website.
Talking Points:
• PWI Editor Bill Apter was featured in pre-recorded interviews with the main event combatants at WrestleCade 11. He first met up with LOW World Heavyweight champion Andre the Giant and his manager Bobby “The Brain” Heenan at an outdoor café in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. A large amount of food, wine and beer was on the table but Heenan slapped Apter’s hand away saying that was all for the giant. Apter wisely backed off and began asking questions to Andre but Heenan jumped in saying that he is the spokesman for the champion. Heenan said that Andre is very pleased that Bruiser Brody won the opportunity as it will give him the chance to polish off a supposed threat to his championship in front of the largest crowd in LOW history. He added that Brody is a dangerous man but that means nothing to Andre who has no equal anywhere in the world which is why he remains, and will continue to remain, undefeated. Apter asked what would happen if Andre loses the match and his undefeated streak but before Heenan could answer Andre reached across the table and grabbed the frightened reporter by the tie. Andre uttered some words in his thick French accent before releasing Apter and staring into the camera saying one word to Brody, “Never!”. Apter thanked them for their time and made a quick getaway to catch his flight to New Mexico…
• Bruiser Brody was found in a wooded area outside of his home in New Mexico chopping down a tree with an axe as Apter arrived. Brody grunted “Huss, Huss!” with each swing of the axe and then grabbed his chain to pull the fallen tree limb away from the stump. He didn’t notice Apter at first but then saw him and growled “what do you want?” forcing Apter to retreat a few steps. Apter finally got up the courage to ask him about the championship match and Brody went on a verbal tirade. He said that he has never held a championship in LOW due to “politics” and “scared champions” but now that was going to change. He called Andre a “huge target” and said that he will “chop him down to size” and take his LOW World Heavyweight title and his undefeated streak. He also threw in a shot at Army of Darkness leader Kevin Sullivan who recently burned him with a fireball. He said that he has not and will never forget that fire and no matter what happens at WrestleCade 11 he has a score to settle with Sullivan and his men. Apter tried to ask another question but Brody said they were finished and just told the PWI Editor to make sure that Andre gets his message.
