Match Highlights:
A scintillating main event for World of Sport featured Exotic Adrian Street, accompanied by Miss Linda, taking on “The Villain” Marty Scurll. The first four rounds of a six-round bout saw both men trading offense in a blistering fashion. Scurll used his controversial umbrella as a weapon in the opening round drawing the ire of Miss Linda and almost resulting in a disqualification decision. A heated round five saw Street score a big near fall with the Crucifix which he argued was a three count. That led to Miss Linda spraying perfume in the eyes of Scurll as the referee was distracted. Street followed with a roll-up on the blinded Scurll to take a one to nil lead. Very early in round six it was Street using the face ripper followed by the Crucifix to score the pin and pick up a two to nothing victory. Scurll was none too happy with the outcome as Street pranced around ringside drawing cheers from the crowd.
The World of Sport rules were not in effect for the Real World Tag League matches presented by Kings Road United with two A Block bouts featured on this night. Mr. Fuji & Mr. Saito earned a tie for the A Block lead winning by disqualification over The Sheepherders (Butch Miller & Luke Williams). This was a war from the opening bell with both teams pulling out all the stops, including Fuji using the salt and The Sheepherders taking the fight outside multiple times. The disqualification came when Miller used a tire iron on on both Japanese stars while they battled outside the ring. The Sheepherders, who recently signed contracts to join WOS, were supported by the crowd in their battle with Fuji and Saito. The powerful team of Giant Bernard & “Dangerous” Dan Spivey earned an important win over Jushin “Thunder” Liger & Wani who remain winless in the tournament thus far. Liger and Wani put on a gutsy performance but the size difference proved to be too much with Spivey planting Wani with a Power Bomb for the win.
Former LOW Tex-Arkana Television champion Roderick Strong made his official WOS debut with a solid win over “Flying” Fred Curry. It took him a little into the first round to get on track but once he did Strong dominated scoring wins in consecutive rounds. Another impressive WOS debut saw “Hot Sauce” Tracy Williams wage a good battle with Tommy End trading falls before End put him away in the sixth round…The best match of the night saw David Taylor and the “King of Wrestling” Bobby Shane battle it out over an intense six rounds. Taylor caught Shane with the British Suplex at the end of round five to go up one to nil. Sensing victory he quickly seized on Shane to open round six and executed a floatover fallaway slam for the pin earning a two to nil decision…The six-man tag team bout with King Kong Bundy, Bill Dundee & Martin Stone vs. One Man Gang, Iron Sheik & Finlay only went into the second round. Some heated action saw OMG disqualified snake eyes style as he assaulted Stone outside the ring. Stone was livid afterward and demanded a one-on-one match with OMG which will take place in Kent, England (Card #1140).
