Match Highlights:
The Real World Tag League was the focus of this show from a sold-out Korakuen Hall featuring one A Block showdown and three B Block matches. Jushin Liger & Wani posted a huge A Block win over The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) that may have prevented the team from the City of Angels from having a chance at winning the block. The two teams had a great battle that culminated with Liger scoring a big near fall on Fulton with the Liger Bomb. That set up Wani scoring a flash pin on Fulton with a Small Package hold giving him and Liger the victory. The Fantastics were bitterly disappointed with the loss but shook hands with Liger and Wani afterward drawing cheers from the crowd. The Fantastics still have an outside shot of tying for the lead as they have a match left with front runners Giant Baba & The Destroyer but they need to win out while Baba and Destroyer would have to lose out in their remaining matches. Mr. Fuji & Mr. Saito can also benefit from a Fantastics win over Baba and Destroyer so there are still some intriguing scenarios left.

The B Block saw Devastation Corporation (Max Smashmaster & Blaster McMassive) take the lead early in the night with a hard-fought win over War Machine (Hanson & Raymond Rowe). It was a brutal battle that saw Hanson busted open, tons of near falls scored and a Death Blow finish. Devastation Corporation, representing the CHIKARA promotion, have been a surprise contender in the B Block and for at least a brief time they held the points lead. That was until a brief time later when Antonio Inoki & Tiger Mask tied them on top by scoring a victory over Bullet Club members the Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) in a highly anticipated battle. The Bucks tried to use their trademark double-teaming but Inoki and Tiger Mask would have none of it. They managed to survive and Tiger Mask, the reigning LOW Junior Heavyweight and IWA J-Crown champion, finished off Matt with a Tombstone Piledriver followed by his Tiger Suplex. One team that is closing in on the B Block lead is Power Surge (William Forve & Paul Pope) who scored a solid win over Johnny Saint & Zack Sabre Jr. Saint and Sabre went in winless and did their best to score the win but in the end Power Surge took it to secure sole possession of second place in the B Block by the end of the night.

Ring Angels champion Mildred Burke survived an impressive challenge from Ida Mae Martinez in what was her version eight defense of the title. Martinez had the upper hand late until Burke executed a counter into a Suplex for the pin. Rikidozan, who is the co-founder of the Ring Angels division along with Sumie Sakai, was on hand to raise the arm of Burke and hand her the title belt. He was supposed to be inactive for the night but wound up showing up unexpectedly following the main event where Terry Gordy won by disqualification over Bullet Club leader “The Cleaner” Kenny Omega. Gordy was jumped by Omega and his associate Adam Cole until Rikidozan hit the ring laying in some thunderous chops. Gordy recovered and joined in sending the Bullet Club members out of the ring. Rikidozan, who defeated Gordy on the opening night of the tour, shook hands with him afterward leading to the two agreeing to team up against Omega and Cole on the final night of the tour.

Match Highlights:
A huge night of action at Sumo Hall culminated with Bullet Club leader “The Cleaner” Kenny Omega declaring himself the “GOD” of Kings Road United. That came after Omega and Adam Cole scored a win over Rikidozan and Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy in a grudge tag team bout. The match was a total war between the two sides and by the time all was said and done Omega, Rikidozan and Gordy were all busted open. Each side picked up multiple near falls including one where Cole saved Omega from being pinned by Rikidozan and reversing the pinning position. Omega also survived both the Power Bomb and the Oriental Spike by Gordy. Omega won it when he used the vicious Tokyo Chainsaw Massacre on Rikidozan and rolled him up for the pin. Fellow Bullet Club members the Young Bucks, “Hangman” Adam Page, Terex and Voodoo Kaos joined Omega and Cole in a post-match victory celebration which saw Omega run down Rikidozan who looked on angrily from ringside. Omega said that Rikidozan is called the “Father of Puroresu” but that he is the “GOD” of KRU as he proved in the ring. Omega then threw down a bold challenge for Rikidozan to face him in the main event at the Seibu Dome (Card #1150) which was accepted by the KRU founder.

Some pivotal action in the ongoing Real World Tag League tournament saw matches in both the A and B Block presented. By the end of the night it was made clear that it is going to take a lot to stop Giant Baba & The Destroyer from winning the A Block. That is because Mr. Fuji & Mr. Saito blew a chance to tie for the points lead when they lost to Giant Bernard & “Dangerous” Dan Spivey. The match between the two teams was a great brawl that saw all four men hit their finishing moves during the match. Fuji managed to kick out of a Power Bomb late from Spivey but a bearhug and Running Avalanche by Bernard did in “The Devious One”. The loss means that Fuji and Saito neede to win their one remaining match while hoping that Baba and Destroyer lose both of theirs. The Fantastics also have a chance to tie under similar circumstances if they win both of their remaining matches, one of which is against Baba and The Destroyer. In the other A Block bout, Nikolai Volkoff & Boris Zhukov picked up their first tournament win by toppling The Sheepherders. It wasn’t looking good late but then The Sheepherders missed the Running Knee Smash tandem move allowing the Russian duo to come away with the victory moments later.

Over in the B Block it was a team that didn’t compete on this night that left in technical hold of first place as Devastation Corporation (Max Smashmaster & Blaster McMassive) took the top spot over Antonio Inoki & Tiger Mask. That was because Inoki and Tiger Mask suffered a pivotal loss to Da Hit Squad (Monsta Mack & Dan Maff) in what many would call an upset. It was the size of the Combat Zone Wrestling duo that proved to be the deciding factor as late in the match they isolated Tiger Mask and put him away with the Figure Four & Frog Splash combo. The win by Da Hit Squad gives them an outside shot to get to first place while also giving both Power Surge and the Young Bucks a solid chance as well depending on how the remaining matches go. Speaking of the Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) representing the Bullet Club scored a much-needed win over the still winless combination of Johnny Saint & Zack Sabre Jr. representing World of Sport. It was not a lack of effort by Saint and Sabre Jr. that did them in it was simply the great teamwork of the Bucks who won it with the Indytaker on Sabre Jr. after a hard-fought battle.

The highly anticipated Painted Legends Warfare II between Sting and the Great Muta did not disappoint. Muta, hoping to avenge his previous loss at the Tokyo Dome, jumped Sting before the bell setting off a wild battle with multiple near falls and outside the ring action. Muta kicked out of the one handed bulldog late but then Sting trapped him in the Scorpion Deathlock in center ring. Muta tried to fight out of the punishing hold and then get to the ropes but Sting sat back on it resulting in a tap out victory. Sting improved his record to 2-0 against Muta in LOW because of his dramatic victory. Muta was in a trance like state following the match but then extended a hand to Sting who shook it drawing cheers from the crowd. Both Sting and Muta are signed to part-time contracts with KRU and afterward both expressed an interest in possibly teaming up at the Seibu Dome…Almost lost in all the action on this night was the fact that the “Under Boss” Terex of the Bullet Club scored a huge count out victory over Giant Baba. He received help from both “Hangman” Adam Page and Voodoo Kaos which contributed to the count out decision but the fact remains that Terex won the match over Baba. Also lost in the action was the performance of Shynron who teamed with The Destroyer battling to a time limit draw with Harley Race and Michael Elgin. Shynron held his own impressing everyone and survived some serious offensive moves including taking the Avalanche Elgin Bomb which saw The Destroyer break up the pin. Race and Elgin both shook hands with Shynron afterward as The Destroyer urged the crowd to cheer on the young masked star.

The massive disrespect shown by Kenny Omega to Rikidozan was appalling. I'm sure the KRU roster will make him answer for it. And I'll want a front row seat!

Devastation Corp. is tearing it up in the Tag League. A possible confrontation between them and the Baba/Destroyer team could be epic!

And since I have been catching up, Adam Pearce winning the TV title was cool. And with the sad passing of Lance Russell, your ASW show will carry his torch high.

Nice to see Sting in action as well as Muta too.

I'm not too familiar with Kenny Omega but he sounds like a pretty serious wrestler.

Really looking forward to him and Rikidozan locking horns soon. Rikidozan (for me) has always been one of the most powerful wrestlers in the game, across any of the product lines.

Hoping Rikidozan takes that one.

KRU matches are always enjoyable - looking forward to how that wittles down to the final match ups.
