Thanks for the awesome feedback Crimson, Pariah, Bri, Troy, Joebreakdown and AJ. I was truly unsure of how I would handle Eddie Gilbert running CHIKARA, though I did feel that he would likely hand out pink slips and try to at least change things up. I actually thought that Mike Quackenbush would win so I wasn't planning to add CHIKARA back on my schedule so soon. For the time being Eddie has "bought out" the 8MW spots on the schedule so that could be the end of that promotion in my fed, though I might have the stars of 8MW face each other as a special "sports entertainment" attraction on KRU tours down the line.
Once the dice handed Eddie that huge win I had to think things over and came up with his new version of ECW. Of course in real life he was in on the ground floor of the promotion so it made sense to link him to it and what luck than to have CHIKARA start with a "C" making ECW a possible name for his take on it. Just for the record I am a fan of both Quackenbush and Paul Heyman so any comments Eddie made about their accomplishments was just him heeling it up naturally and no disrespect by me was intended. I had a blast coming up with that exchange between him and Lance Russell on the show and of course Eddie taking CHIKARA to the "extreme" is going to be a lot of fun. I also liked the idea of Eddie running his ECW in the south, based out of Tennessee, just to have a different take on things.
As for guys like Rusty Brooks and Mr. X II, not to mention "The Duke of Dorchester" Pete Doherty, what more can I say than thanks to Joebreakdown and Kat Rana for putting out cards for them. I love rolling out matches with the undercard talent as you never know when they might pull off an upset. Brooks and Bruiser Costa did very well in their match with the Rock n' Roll Express albeit in a losing effort. Joe, I should let you know that they were paid good for looking up at the lights
As for Fred Blassie vs. John Tolos and the Midnight Rockers vs. Andre the Giant & Big John Studd stay tuned for what I hope to be great battles to come. Thanks again guys and next up will be a Golden Age Wrestling card headlined by Johnny Valentine challenging The Sheik for the LOW International Heavyweight title.
