Since the Add 1 thing is such a spirited debate, I thought I'd add the OTHER big rules thing. IMO, the offcial rules here are kinda dumb.. I mean, why list a move if it can never be used. OTOH, I think not using them at all makes PW and AG all but useless.. so I use a happy medium. I use the choice charts every OTHER time they come up... that way it maximizes move variety. I know there are a million different ways people used them... let's hear it

I use them every other show...odd numbered shows, no choice charts...even number shows, choice charts. Gives me more variety (and less to keep track of, as opposed to using them every other time, for instance)...
Heck, I go one further and use a rule I saw ages ago: I modify the target number using the defensive wrestler's stat, as normal, and then apply the offensive wrestler's stat to the die roll...meaning that if both guys have -3s on a stat, they cancel out.

Then doesnt that mean half the time you are playing wrong? j/k mods ;D Ive always used them...just started using them from the first ever card and havent looked back. Dont think I could stop using them if I tried now.

I know there are plenty of folks out there who use the advanced rules except the Choice Charts.

I hate the CH charts...I use them, but man do I HATE THEM. They slow the game down to a crawl!

I've always used the (Ch) charts, just for strategy wise. But they really do slow things down (I admit I do have them memorized though). But working, being married, kids, coaching, and everything else...that really cuts into any amount of free time I have to play COTG (or my Legends, Memphis, etc).
I'm seriously thinking about cutting back on the Ch Charts...just to speed up my playing.

The only time I have really noticed them slowing me down is now, after coming back to the game from a hiatus, because I no longer have any charts completely memorized.
Not only did I know the options offhead, but I had almost precalculated the rolls for each move, so it was a no-brainer.
One time I started playing the game and was something like three matches in when I realized I had never even grabbed the charts from my desk...when you're doing that, not even choice charts slow you down.

I think they only slow you down when you have to look at the charts... when I'm in the groove, playing alot, I rarely look at them (since they're in my head)
@ Tommy - Its really no trouble to keep track of doing every other... its not that strict... its really about the variety... your way sounds decent too though.
I've heard people discuss using the difference in PW and AG instead of just using the opponents rating, and I really think that's a great idea, but I have trouble remembering to do it , for some reason.

I ususalyl just use the listed move but have the roll on the choice chart. Also the only way some guys can ever deathjump.

I did it at random! If I felt like using the listed move, then I did. If I felt like rolling on the (Ch. X) chart, it did it.
