Shepard's IS coming back, now whether he's known as Shepard is another deal check Online....Peacemaker is another character who I assume is a good guy. Unless 'The Other's' storyline happens before 2123 we have both of them and even when it does you'll still have one of them for the good guys. Unless its the last announcement before the release I doubt we'll see either Paganax or Shepard right away, especially if they go with this new release schedule so one or both can make a grand entrance back into the aCe...but hey what do I know?

This still leaves Warhammer, Ventross, Hybrid and Nicodemus unaccounted for since Battle's end if I am not mistaken.

also, where is the sci fi feel aCe had?! It seems to be mising from THIS version of aCe. Totally disagree there. First off, most of the really sci-fi characters are still around. Their stats might be slightly modified, but guys like Godsend, Nightmare, Exodus and Shock Syndicate are still very much sci-fi characters. Secondly, with so many loose ends around (Paganax's whereabouts, the techno-organic structure on Primus, WTF is Shephard exactly?) I just can't believe that Kris will ever let the aCe be *just* a wrestling company. He's probably just saving his biggest cards for later.

I have a feeling that for a few game years or sets, everything is going to seem "normal" while guys like Nicodemus and the Godsend and the mysterious new syndicate work in the shadows. So, even though we won't have all the sci-fi guys in the ring, there is still going to be that element to the atmosphere. And then BANG. another war breaks out. I think Centra is far from out of the woods yet. patience, grasshopper.

The problem with that is that aCe had that major sci fi feel to it with each of the last three sets. somehting new and unexpected. With set 1, it was Trisis' fate. With set 2 we got gheist , with set 3, we get the Others. Sure some of the previous mentioned stars still lend the Sci atmosphere but it isn't as intense as it was and I fear it may turn people away from the product. aCe by it'd very nature doesn't have time to become anythi resembling "normal" ot ir would suffer as a whole.

Right. Maybe Ashby talked Osk into keeping Nicodemus on the sidelines for a decade, just to build the tension. Plus...and this occurred to me while re-reading the aCe booklets: when the Ravagers were first introduced in the GWFC storyline, they reason they were cosmic nomads is because they were avoding some mysterious dark force called The Plague which destroyed all life that it touched. It's the reason why Dimension Y has so few populated planets. Obviously, Murdok had some ability to do something similr, but THE Plague is still out there. At some point down the road, I think Osk will deal with this and with Murdok. Just MO.

The time period of "normalcy" will be a bit less intense, for sure. Hopefully, Kris has enough awesome ideas to keep things intriguing. I have faith, though! I think if anyone lost interest in the aCe, while they may stop buying sets for a bit, I don't think they will stop following what's going on completely. And then hopefully, when things turn sour again, those players will pick right back up.

But again you are basing your opinion on just the previews you've seen. At least allow the set to come out before you decide it's *just* a wrestling company. Osk wrote a cosmic multi-factioned war that also included the forces of Heaven and Hell, had the storyline play out through a wrestling ring, and did it incredibly successfully. More successfully even than the similar storyline that Tom attempted in the GWF ( I KNow! Sacrilege!). Give him the benefit of the doubt, huh?

Give him the bnenefit of the doubt, huh? not saying he can't pull something out, but Am saying that so far aCe is in danger of appearing that way i.e *just* a wrestling company. am still gonna get the set-don't get me wrong but Avarice's stable and Tournament master coming to aCe, as cool as an idea as both are, don't strike me as particularly Sci Fi.
