I know the rules state when you roll a tag move in a singles match, to re-roll. I'm thinking of starting to treat it like a (c) move and move down a level. Using the rule as stated makes level 3 offense too strong on some cards where their finisher is rolled more often because there are only 3 or 4 valid moves.
How do you combat this so Al Costello or Stan Lane don't become stronger as singles wrestlers?

Sometimes it does get frustrating when a "tag" wrestler is in asingles match, but don't agree that move should be an automatic - 3 move. I think moving up a level of offense is a good trade off.

This is a problem that Chad, Tim, and I have noticed with a few LOW tag guys, after the fact that the cards have been released. When you take out their (tag) moves, they are too tough in singles. Road Warrior Hawk and Bobby Eaton come to mind, and in my own fed, Johnny Valiant scored several upset wins. If you take out his TOP ROPE ELBOW tag finisher and his "choke with tag rope - 3", he's got more of a chance in singles to hit his SPINNING NECKBREAKER.
With some guys, we sometimes give them a "replacement" singles move for the tag move, that's a level weaker than the tag move. (Example: Butcher Vachon having "abdominal stretch-2" in singles, rather than "illegal abdominal stretch-3" in tags.)
Chad and I have discussed in the past a rule like you described, Havoc. I'm thinking of trying it out in my own fed and see how it works. If anyone else tries it out, we should post here to see how it affects certain tag guys in singles.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm going to start doing it for guys who don't have a replacement move. Hawk made the final four of my inaugural LWF championship tournie. Fortunately, he didn't win.

I think Hawk's biggest singles win in my fed was over Killer Kowalski. Bobby Eaton beat Dick Hutton and Giant Baba in singles. At least with Baba, Eaton and Lane were feuding with Baba and Destroyer, so I had it worked in that Cornette played a part in Eaton's win. Johnny V. got wins over Destroyer, Hutton, Don Leo (if I remember correctly), and others. He often challenged Gorgeous George for the Southern Heavyweight title. He didn't win, but had some good bouts with George.

I believe I will adopt this as well, for GWF and LWF.
As for Greg Valentine...I can't speak for Havoc, but Greg freakin' Valentine has won my World title AND my big annual singles tournament. Its maddening. I *think* I have him off my roster at the moment.

I *think* I have him off my roster at the moment. That is reason enough for you to have him off your roster. Him winning one of the world titles on one of my 2 brands was part of the reason that lead to me going back to GWF and abandonding Legends for 9-12 months. That's the joke he's making although Iron Sheik was partially responsible too as he won the title on the other brand. If Steve Corino's current hot streak in my LWF leads him to a World Title it may be time for another hiatus.
