Wow! Thanks for the info on Farmer Burns! Would love to team him with Frankie G now.

I book Gotch as a mix of Kurt Angle and Shane Douglas. He's good and he knows it. He's a tweener in my fed when I use him but closer to the face side of the spectrum.

Ya know I could see that combination of characters working rather well for Gotch. Gotch had a best of 7 with Jim Londos for the Provincial Championship and man what a series of matches those were. I found that it could go either way with those two!

I also used Gotch like Angle, even calling himself a wrestling machine. After a period of being near the top yet not being able to win the big one he turned hel and started hurting people. Eventually a series of brutal mat wars with Iron Sheik turned him face again.

I sorta thought of him like that when I first started but lately I have been playing him as what I think he was viewed which is a true American hero who everybody loves. I have him in a stable with Hack, Severn & Hodge called the Shooter's Gallery. I am thinking at some point to have Hack break away with maybe Koloff & Breznikov.

I remember when I brought Gotch into my fed. I envisioned personality promos showing him talking into the camera, but it was silent movie style, where you see him moving his mouth, and then a slide is shown onscreen showing what he just said. Later, I had him come out as a guest commentator, but he spent most of the match trying to figure out the headset, since those didn't exist in his day. I also thought of something really far out, which was the concept of using computer graphics to make Gotch black-and-white during his matches, where everything and everyone else was in full color.
As far as in-ring, I envisioned a cross between Angle and Benoit. I leaned more towards Benoit, since I gave much of the Angle-style character to the Lou Thesz bootleg.
