Card #8 Legends Arena: Quest for Greatness
Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express come to the ring and call out Commissioner Cox. Cornette tells the fans and Cox that it is an outrage that the Ortons are getting a shot at the Tag Team Titles tonight when the Midnight Express beat them in this very ring on April 26th. Cornette demands that the Midnight Express be given tonight’s title match. Cox tells Cornette that instead the Midnight Express can face the number one contenders Killer Bees tonight. Which ever team wins the match cleanly gets the next shot at the Champions.
Match 1: Angelo Mosca v. Dick Hutton Solid heat for Mosca during the introductions. The action spills to the floor almost immediately and Mosca takes control. Mosca loads his elbow pad for a Big Nasty Elbow Drop. Hutton tries to get something going by sending Mosca into the ropes but Mosca counters a backdrop with a piledriver. SLEEPER and Mosca remains undefeated. (R3/P4)
Match 2: Killer Kowalski v. Ilio DiPaolo Solid ovation for DiPaolo as he comes to the ring looking for his first win. Much to the delight of the fans it is all DiPaolo from the opening bell. Big right hands down Kowalski and DiPaolo hits an AIRPLANE SPIN for a 2 count (R5/P8). Kowalski powers out of a figure four leglock (ch) (P7/P4) and finds himself trapped in the ropes after a deathjump. The fans are on fire as DiPaolo lays in the right hands to his helpless opponent. Kowalski counters a rolling short arm scissors but DiPaolo manages to trip up Kowalski and trap him in a figure four leglock (ch) again. Kowalski rolls out of the hold (R9/P5) but when both men return to their feet DiPaolo catches Kowalski in an AIRPLANE SPIN for the win (R8/P8). The fans are very pleased.
Match 3: Don Leo Jonathan v. Terry Gordy It was on April 11th when Gordy assisted Killer Kowalski in an attack on Jonathan but know Jonathan was fully recovered and was looking for revenge. Both men move quickly and at one point criss cross the ring until Gordy runs straight into Jonathan’s boot. Jonathan mounts the corner for a deathjump smash but Gordy rolls clear and Jonathan crashes to the mat. Gordy covers Jonathan for a ½ count (R11/P2) and then hits deathjump knee smash. Jonathan battles back and takes the action to ringside but misses a falling double hammer and crashes hard into the steel rails at ringside. Gordy attacks with a PILEDRIVER for the win (R2/P5). Snake Eyes strikes! Killer Kowalski arrives and joins Gordy for a two on one attack on Jonathan. Gordy holds Jonathan’s legs and Kowalski comes off the top of the buckle with a bombs away knee drop. Bruiser Brody arrives and clears the ring with his chain. Brody then chases Gordy and Kowalski to the back. Jonathan needs assistance leaving the ring.
Match 4: Road Warriors w/Paul Ellering v. Mongols w/Captain Lou Albano The Mongols victory last time these two teams met was considered a major upset and some insiders say kept the Warriors from the number one contender’s position. The Warriors were out to show that the match was a fluke. Hawk still has his ribs tapped up as his injury continues to linger. The Mongols look impressive early on cutting of Animal from his corner. Back to back double clotheslines down Animal for a 1 count (R7/P3). TOP ROPE KNEE DROP. Bepo blocks Hawk and Animal kicks out of the cover (R10/P5). Bepo tags in and chokes out Animal with his chains. Animal is in trouble and cannot make the tag. Geeto is in and the Mongols crush Animal with a double team clothesline. Cover. Hawk makes the save. It is all Mongols with double team clotheslines, slams and suplexes. Animal finally counters a head butt and tag in Hawk who goes on the attack against Geeto Mongol. Bepo tags in after Geeto takes a gorilla press slam. The Road Warriors make a pair of well timed defensive tags to keep the momentum and Hawk takes out Geeto Mongol with a deathjump cross body block for a ½ count (R11/P3). The Mongols makes a tag and Hawk takes the fight to Bepo Mongol. The Warriors hit a double team clothesline of their own. Hawk comes off the buckles onto Bepo at ringside and the crowd explodes. Bepo takes a double team clothesline and then a high vertical suplex forces him to the floor. Bepo drags Hawk to ringside and whips him into the ring post. Geeto forces Hawk to the floor with an Oriental Spike. Geeto follows the Road Warrior to the floor and rams Hawk’s face into the ringside rails busting Hawk open. Animal is able to tag in but the Mongol’s maintain control. The Warriors make a hot tag and Hawk rebounds Geeto off the ropes into his boot. Things turn around at ringside when Geeto catches Hawk at ringside and rams him back first into the ring apron. Bepo with a running stomp for a 1 count (R7/P3). It is all Bepo Mongol including an impressive running slingshot in the corner. A bloody Hawk eats the ringside rails again and the referee allows the action to continue. Running stomp for a1 count (R8/P4). Hawk counters a bite with a vertical suplex and the action goes to the floor. Hawk wins a wild brawl and tags in Animal. DOOMSDAY DEVICE. The pin save is blocked but Albano distracts the referee. It is back and forth with the Mongols making tags to try and get something going against Hawk. The Road Warriors stands his ground and a vertical suplex stuns Bepo and sets up a DOOMSDAY DEVICE. Animal hooks the leg while Hawk blocks Geeto. Albano jumps into the action but Animal takes him out with a clotheslines. Animal with a double underhook slam on Bepo. Cover. 1, 2, kick out (R8/P6). POWER SLAM and Bepo raises his shoulder at the last second (R8/P7). Animal punishes Bepo with a deathjump clothesline. Animal goes for a second one and takes out the referee! It is bedlam in the ring. Albano takes out Animal with a chair shot and Bepo covers the Road Warrior. The referee has recovered! 1, 2, shoulder up! Order is restored. Both teams are able to make tags and Hawk takes out Geeto with a running clothesline. Hawk with a falling body block onto Geeto at ringside. Geeto crawls back in at the 9 count and Hawk tosses him to the floor again. Hawk mounts the corner and leaps onto Geeto again! The fans are unglued. Geeto crawls back in for more. DOOMSDAY DEVICE. 1, 2, 3 (R8/P9).
Bill Apter hosts the Hotseat with a new face to the Legends Arena, Fritz Von Goering. Von Goering cuts a sold promo running down America and the fans calling them weak and helpless. Dick Hutton comes out and gets into a verbal exchange with Von Goering. Hutton challenges Von Goering to a match at the next Legends Arena card.
Match 5: Number One Contenders Match - Bruiser Brody v. Rikidozan Rikidozan is undefeated since his Legends debut last month but Brody is his greatest challenge to date. It is closely contested match in the ring with Rikidozan holding his own against his much larger opponent. Brody blocks a backdrop with a piledriver and the action goes to the floor. Brody loves the action at ringside and chokes Rikidozan with his chain. Back in the ring Brody comes off the corner with perfect cross body block for a 1 count (R5/P1). It is all Brody with stomps and kicks. A Bruiser Backbreaker forces Rikidozan to retreat to the floor but the Japanese Legend pulls Brody to the floor and whips him into the steel ring post. Brody is busted open. Rikidozan hits a deathjump smash followed by a THUNDEROUS CHOP for a two count (R6/P4). Rikidozan attacks a bloody Brody with another THUNDEROUS CHOP and covers Brody for the pin (R5/P5). Rikidozan will face Mascaras for the Title at the next Legends Arena card.

Bruiser Brody teams with Don Leo Jonathan to take on Terry Gordy & Killer Kowalski in a rematch from April 26th.
Match 6: Midnight Express w/Jim Cornette v Killer Bees Commissioner Cox made at the outset of tonight’s card. Whichever team wins the match cleanly will receive the next opportunity at the Tag Team Titles. The two teams know each other having battled three times already. Stan Lane opens against B. Brian Blair and the Express take control with a Flapjack on Blair. Both teams are able to make tags and the action evens out. Cornette trips up Blair from ringside. Lane takes Blair to the floor starting a wild brawl. Blair grabs Cornette’s tennis racket and clubs Lane. The referee calls for the disqualification. The Bees clear the ring with dropkicks and the Express retreat to the back. There is no clean winner so who is the number one contender?
Match 7: Antonino Rocca v. Rob Van Dam w/Bill Alfonso Rocca continues to have problems with Van Dam and his manger Bill Alfonso. Great heat for Alfonso at ringside. Rocca takes early control of the action including a series of victory rolls and flying dropkicks. A crushing body scissors forces Van Dam to the floor but Van Dam pulls Rocca to the floor and whips him into the steel ring post. FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH for a 1 count (R7/P3). Van Dam mounts the corner for another one and pauses to give the fans the thumbs to the shoulder which allows Rocca to recover and toss Van Dam to the mat. Van Dam goes into the ropes and rebounds with a flying tackle and then hits a split legged moonsault. Leg drop across the guardrails hurts Rocca and Van Dam cover him for a 1 count (R8/P2). Alfonso assists Van Dam in setting out another legdrop across the guardrails and the fans are frantic. Van Dam hooks the leg for a 1 count (R11/P3). The action returns to the floor and Rocca, pumped up by the fans, wins a brawl against Van Dam and takes over the match. Rocca tosses Van Dam to the floor and comes outside and attacks Van Dam with a chair. The referee calls for the bell and Van Dam picks up the disqualification victory. Rocca chases Van Dam and Alfonso to the back with the chair.
Match 8: Dan “The Beast” Severn, Ed “Strangler” Lewis & Buddy Rogers v. Frank Gotch, World Champion Mil Mascaras & Jim Londos Huge ovation for the World Champion and his teammates. Dan Severn takes on Mascaras and Gotch early on but the crowd explodes when Londos and Lewis step into the ring. Lewis blocks an arm breaker and uses a full nelson to set up a STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK but Londos escapes (R7/P1). Londos gives way to Mascaras who trades moves with Londos before Rogers sees his first action. Rogers takes Mascaras to the floor and comes off the top of the buckles with a falling body block onto Mascaras at ringside. Mascaras is able to crawl back into the ring but Rogers takes the fight to the floor once again and uses a steel chair on Mascaras’ leg. FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE and Mascaras is able to roll Rogers over to break free (R9/P6). Mascaras is able to counter a forearm smash and Gotch tags in and takes the fight to Rogers forcing him to leave the ring with a crossface and arm bar. Rogers trips up Gotch from the floor and rams Gotch’s leg off the ring post. The bell sounds and Rogers has been disqualified. Mascaras and Londos quickly come to Gotch’s aid and the heels retreat to the back.
Match 9: Best of Three Falls World Tag Team Title Match – The Last of the Famous International Playboys v. Cowboy Bob Orton & Bob Orton Sr. The champions take several minutes to pose for photographs with the ladies at ringside. Brutus Beefcake controls the action from the bell against Cowboy Bob Orton. Beefcake with a chokeslam (ch) and covers Orton for a 1 count (R11/P3). Both teams make tags and Buff Bagwell takes the fight to Orton Sr. including an incredible high back body drop. Orton reverses Beefcakes whip into the buckles and catches Beefcake with a running slingshot. Cowboy Bob Orton tags in and finishes the first fall with a SUPERPLEX (R4/P5). Beefcake questions Bagwell about not saving him between falls and the bell sounds for the start of the second fall. Beefcake tags out to Bagwell very early. Bagwell avoids Orton’s charge into the corner and rolls him up for a 2 ½ count (R5/P4). BUFF BLOCKBUSTER. Beefcake blocks Orton Sr. but Orton kicks out of the cover at 2 (R8/P6). Playboys with a double body slam and Orton leaves the ring with Beefcake in pursuit. Orton wins the brawl at ringside and tags in his father. Beefcake is outmatched by Orton Sr including a wicked deathjump knee drop followed by a deathjump clothesline. Orton tags in and connects with a second deathjump clothesline. It is all Orton. Beefcake hot tags in Bagwell and the fans explode. Bagwell reverses an Irish whip into the corner and follows with a running slingshot. Bagwell hits a deathjump clothesline of his own. Orton manages to rebound off the ropes with a flying tackle and tags in his father. Both teams make tags and Beefcakes catches Orton with a studded armband smash and Orton leaves the ring. Orton drags Beefcake to the floor and whips him into the ring post. Orton Sr. works over Beefcake in and out of the ring. Beefcake is a busted open after eating the ring steps. Deathjump clothesline. Orton Sr. comes off the top of the corner onto Beefcakes at ringside with a falling body block. A bloody Beefcake crawls back under the ropes and Orton Sr. plants him with a PILEDRIVER. 1, 2, 3. New Champions! The Orton’s celebrate at ringside as Bagwell checks on his partner. Bagwell helps Beefcake to his feet and then hits a BUFF BLOCKBUSTER on Beefcake leaving him dazed in the ring!

The Midnight Express will face the Killer Bees in a Ladder Match with a contract for a World Tag Team Title Match hung above the ring. The first team to climbs the ladder and obtain the contract will get the first shot at the Ortons

Card #9 – 2010 Legends Arena: International Implications
Match 1: Dan “The Beast” Severn v. Ilio DiPaolo Solid reaction for DiPaolo who is coming off a huge win over Killer Kowalski. DiPaolo takes Severn to the mat with an arm wringer throw and moves to a leg nelson but Severn easily counters (R12/P3). DiPaolo hits a running head ram into the turnbuckles and covers Severn for the shocking pinfall (R3/P4). DiPaolo seems to be heading up the rankings.
Match 2: Fritz Von Goering v. Dick Hutton Great heat for Von Goering during the introductions to his first match at Legends Arena. Hutton counters a backdrop with a piledriver and the crowd pops. Hutton climbs the corner but Von Goering rolls clear of the deathjump smash and covers Hutton for a 1 count (R11/P3). BACKBREAKER. 1, 2, 3 (R4/P6).
Match 3: Bruiser Brody & Don Leo Jonathan v. Terry Gordy & Killer Kowalski Business is about to pick up. Jonathan has his ribs taped up to protect his injury suffered at the hands of Gordy & Kowalski. Kowalski looks impressive against Brody early on but Brody turns things around whipping Kowalski into the ring post. Jonathan tags in and mounts the corner for a deathjump smash but a bloody Kowalski rolls clear and Jonathan crashes hard to the mat. Kowalski hooks the leg for 1 (R8/P3). Gordy takes the fight to the floor but Jonathan counters a double hammer with a punch to the midsection. Brody is in and tosses Gordy to the floor. Brody slams the ringsteps in Gordy at ringside and Gordy is nearly counted out of the ring. Brody mounts the corner for a deathjump knee drop but Gordy rolls clear. Cover for a 1 count (R9/P3). Kowalski dominates against Jonathan including at one point, hanging Jonathan in the corner and stomping away on his injured ribs. Brody tags in to a solid pop but Kowalski wins a brawl on the floor. Gordy tags in and plants Brody with a PILEDRIVER for the win (R4/P5).
Match 4: Frank Gotch v. Buddy Rogers Solid pop for Gotch during the introduction. Rogers is the master at drawing heat. Gotch schools Rogers on the mat early on and the action goes to the floor. Gotch comes outside and slams Rogers onto the arena floor. Back inside, Gotch traps Rogers in a rolling kneebar but Rogers is able to roll through and escape (R11/P2). Gotch takes the action to the floor and Rogers wins the brawl with a series of stiff forearms. FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE and Gotch cannot find a counter (R4/P5).
Buff Bagwell is the guest on the Hotseat. Bagwell tell Bill Apter that he is tired of playing up to all the pigs at ringside and that he was the true talent in the International Playboys. Brutus Beefcake simply does not have what it takes to hang with Bagwell. Brutus Beefcake hits the set and Bagwell quickly disappears. Beefcake tells Apter that Bagwell cannot run forever.
Match 5: Road Warriors w/Paul Ellering v. The Mongols w/Captain Lou Albano The fans are bracing for another wild encounter between these two teams and the action starts before the bell when the Mongols jump the Warriors on their way to the ring. The Warriors turns things around quickly and Animal rams Geeto Mongol into the ring side table and tosses him inside. DOOMSDAY DEVICE. Geeto kicks out (R9/P7). Hawk works over Geeto for several minutes. Animal is in and Geeto finally is able to make a defensive tag. It is back and forth now. Geeto is in against Hawk and slows the match down with a Gobi Nerve Hold. Hawk powers out (R9/P2) and Geeto moves to an Oriental Spike but Hawk again escapes (R11/P3). Bepo tags back in and sends Hawk into the ropes and ducks down for a back drop but Hawk counters with a piledriver. The crowd loves the action. Animal tags in. DOOMSDAY DEVICE. Animal blocks Geeto from breaking up the cover but Bepo kicks out at 2 (R10/P8). The fans thought it was over. Hawk and Bepo brawl around ringside. Hawk takes out Albano and the crowd roars. The referee comes outside and Hawk shoves the referee to the floor and continues to hammer away on Bepo. The bell sounds and the Road Warriors are disqualified. Albano and The Mongols quickly retreat to the back leaving the frustrated Road Warriors in the ring. The crowd gives it to the referee after the decision is announced.
Match 6: Ladder Match – Killer Bees v. Midnight Express w/Jim Cornette The contract for a World Tag Team title shot is hung above the ring and the teams are introduced. The crowd is buzzing. It is bedlam at the bell. The referee does not know what to do so he just stands at ringside and watches. B. Brian Blair battles Bobby Eaton and Jim Brunzell goes after Stan Lane. Brunzell with a figure four leglock and then he rams Lane’s face into a ladder busting Lane open. Cornette is assisting Eaton in choking out Blair and Brunzell rams the ladder into Lane in the corner. Eaton attacks Brunzell from behind with a ladder shot across the back. Cornette tosses Eaton a chair and Eaton smashes Brunzell busting him open. Eaton goes for an Irish whip into the ladder but Brunzell reverses. Blair and Lane have recovered and exchange blows. Lane connects with a SUPERKICK (R8/P4). Brunzell is ramming Eaton’s face into the ladder busting him open. Brunzell and Lane both climb the ladder and fight at the top. The ladder topples over and both men crash to the mat. All four men are down! Cornette is going insane. Brunzell is up first. KILLER DROPKICK on Lane. Brunzell scales the ladder but Eaton stops him from reaching the top. The crowd is going nuts. Flapjack on Blair. The Express are in control now. Lane rams the ladder into Blair in the corner busting Blair open. All four men are bleeding now. Lane mounts the second rope and slams the ladder onto Blair. Eaton sets up a second ladder in one corner and Lane sets up the other ladder in the opposite corner. Brunzell is Irish whipped into one ladder and then the other. The crowd is all over the Express. Great spot where Lane and Brunzell brawl on one ladder and Blair and Eaton brawl on the other. Both ladders go over. The Midnight Express are killing the Bees. Lane with a flying dropkick off the ladder into Brunzell. Double Goozle for Blair. Lane hits a choke slam on Brunzell and then climbs the ladder to grab the contract while Eaton beats down Blair. The Bees fall from the top of the contenders list in dramatic fashion.
Match 7: Ed “Strangler” Lewis v. Jim Londos The reaction for Londos is off the charts and he responds by dominating the early action. Lewis manages to counter a spinning neckbreaker (ch) and sends Londos into the ropes. Londos with a perfect cross body block for a 1 count (R7/P2). Lewis is able to use his power advantage to take control of the action trapping Londos in a full nelson. STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK and Londos escapes (R9/P1). It is back and forth. Both men are rebounding off the ropes and criss cross three times before Londos bends for a backdrop and Lewis counters with a piledriver. Lewis tosses Londos to the floor and when Londos crawls in Lewis is ready with a STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK. Londos escapes (R10/P3). Londos grabs the ropes to escape another STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK (R5/P3). Londos grabs the ropes again to escape a fourth STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK (R7/P4). Lewis switches things up with a spinning neckbreaker and then a running slingshot in the corner. The fans can smell the end coming. STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK and Londos again reaches the ropes (R7/P5). Londos goes into the ropes and rebounds with a flying shoulder ram. The crowd explodes. Lewis goes into the ropes and Londos clotheslines him to the mat. Lewis into the ropes again and Londos telegraphs his backdrop allowing Lewis to counter with a piledriver for the second time in the match! Lewis continues to target the neck with a spinning neckbreaker. Lewis goes for a jack-knife arm scissors but Londos counters and Lewis goes into the corner. Running slingshot. The crowd is roaring again as Londos has new life. Lewis ends the rally by overpowering Londos and the action goes to the floor. Lewis Irish whips Londos into the ring steps. Lewis with a spinning neckbreaker (ch) and cover Londos for a 1 count (R11/P6). STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK and the match is over (R3/P7).
Match 8: Hardcore Texas Death Match – Rob Van Dam w/Bill Alfonso v. Antonino Rocca The battles between these two have been intense and things are turned up a notch tonight. Van Dam opens with some brawling. The fans hate Alfonso. Rocca with flying dropkicks and covers Van Dam for a 1 count (R10/P1). Rocca grabs a chair and smashes Van Dam with it in the middle of the ring. A bloody Van Dam then is whipped into the rails at ringside before he takes a chair shot across the back. Somehow, Van Dam makes a comeback and Rocca goes into the ropes and rebounds into a spin kick by Van Dam. Van Dam and Rocca brawl around ringside. Rocca ends up on a table and Van Dam slingshots over the ropes and puts Rocca through the table! The crowd is unglued. It is all Van Dam now. Body scissors cradle for a 1 count (R7/P2). FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH and Rocca kicks out (R10/P5). Both men brawl around ringside. Van Dam goes up top for a FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH but Rocca dropkicks Van Dam’s legs out from under him sending him crashing to the mat. The fans eat it all up. Rocca whips Van Dam into the rails and then goes for an ARGENTINIAN BACKBREAKER but Van Dam counter with a low blow drawing huge heat. FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH for a 2 count (R9/P6). Rolling Thunder sets up a body scissors cradle followed by a FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH. 1, 2, shoulder up! (R8/P7). The crowd is on fire. Rocca reverses an Irish whip into the rails. It is back and forth in the ring with both men missing moves. Van Dam catches Rocca charging into the corner with an elbow to the face and follows with a Van Daminator! Leg drop across the guardrail on a bloody Rocca. Van Daminator! Rocca reverses a whip into the rails and grabs a metal pipe to use on Van Dam but Van Dam kicks Rocca in the stomach and smashes him with the pipe. Van Dam sets Rocca on a table and hits a moonsault off the corner through the table! The crowd is chanting! Van Dam is in total control. Van Dam mounts the corner and points to himself. Rocca takes advantage and knocks Van Dam’s leg out from under him causing Van Dam to crotch himself on the corner! Van Dam and Rocca battle for the metal pipe and Van Dam comes out on top and clocks Rocca spilling more blood. Rocca manages to counter a monkey flip and smashes Van Dam with a chair but Van Dam counter by smashes Rocca in the midsection with a the metal pipe. FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH. 1, 2, 3! (R8/P11)
Match 9: World Title Match – Mil Mascaras (ch) v. Rikidozan Rikidozan is undefeated since making his Legends debut in April. Mascaras is out to a solid ovation. Media from Japan cover the action from ringside. Rikidozan counters a leg trip and downs Mascaras with a scoop slam for a near fall (R2/P1). Mascaras goes into the ropes and rebounds with a cross body block for a ½ count (R9/P1). A pair of deathjump smashes downs Rikidozan and Mascaras hits a CROSSBODY ATTACK for a 1 count (R8/P2). It is all Mascaras. Full nelson suplex and Mascaras hooks the leg for 1 (R8/P3). Mascaras dives through the ropes onto Rikidozan at ringside. A bow and arrow forces Rikidozan to the floor and Mascaras leaps over the ropes onto Rikidozan. The crowd is rocking. Rikidozan turns things around with a whip into the ring post drawing great heat. Piledriver and Rikidozan covers. 1, 2, shoulder up (R3/P2). Rikidozan wins a brawl at ringside and dominates the action. At one point, Mascaras is tied up in the ropes and Rikidozan chops away drawing solid heat. HIPLOCK for a ½ count (R12/P3). Rikidozan mounts the corner for a deathjump smash but Mascaras rolls clear. Mascaras covers for 1 (R10/P4). It is back and forth. Both men go for a clothesline and crash together in the middle of the ring. Rikidozan is up first and tosses Mascaras to the floor. Mascaras avoids a double hammer and Rikidozan crashes into the ringside rails. It is back and forth in the ring. Mascaras counters a charge to the corner with a backdrop that sends Rikidozan tumbling to ringside. Mascaras goes out after Rikidozan but Rikidozan’s chops give him control. HIPLOCK. 1, 2, 3 (R3/P4). New Champion!

Card #10 – Legends Arena: Ill Placed Trust
Match 1: Antonino Rocca & Mil Mascaras v. The James Gang Great ovation for Rocca & Mascaras as they are introduced. Mascaras looks impressive against B. G. James. Rocca is in with a victory roll for a 1 count (R10/P2). ARGENTINIAN BACKBREAKER and James submits (R3/P5).
Match 2: Ilio DiPaolo v. Don Muraco The fans give DiPaolo a solid pop when he comes to the ring. Muraco is greeted with a “beach bum” chant and he is not happy about it. Muraco regains his composure as the match gets underway and takes control of the action. Choke slam (ch) for near fall (R4/P3). Muraco with a slingshot choke on the bottom rope and then a vertical suplex. HAWAIIAN HAMMER but DiPaolo kicks out (R11/P6). Muraco comes off the top with a deathjump smash but DiPaolo gets his boot up to block. DiPaolo takes the action to the floor and Muraco blocks a falling double hammer. Muraco with a deathjump knee drop followed by an Asiatic Spike that forces DiPaolo to grab the ropes (R6/P5). DiPaolo avoids a falling elbow drop and takes control including a figure four leglock and running head ram into the buckle for a 1 count (R8/P3). DiPaolo maintains the pressure with big right hands, body scissors and another figure four leglock. The crowd is solidly behind DiPaolo. Muraco bails to ringside and drags out DiPaolo with him. Muraco rams DiPaolo into the ring post busting him open. The referee calls for the disqualification as Muraco tosses DiPaolo back into the ring and plants him with a HAWAIIAN HAMMER. Security arrives to break things up before DiPaolo is injured.
Match 3: Dick Hutton v. Fritz Von Goering Hutton demanded this rematch from the last card after Von Goering pick up a convincing win. Solid heat for Von Goering before the bell. Von Goering tries out muscle Hutton with a lengthy standing full nelson but Hutton finds the counter and takes down Von Goering with a shoulder throw. Oklahoma sideroll for a 2 count (R5/P3). Hutton keeps the momentum on his side eventually forcing Von Goering to the floor with a figure four leglock (ch). Von Goering grabs a chair but Hutton wrestles it away and clocks Von Goering with it. The referee calls for the bell and disqualifies Hutton. Von Goering does not stick around to celebrate his win.
Match 4: Frank Gotch v. Angelo Mosca The fans have grown not to like Mosca over the past few cards and they let him know when he comes out for the match. Gotch has struggled to find consistency so far in the Legends Arena ring. Mosca sends Gotch spilling to the floor with a running clothesline. Mosca comes outside and rams Gotch into the ring post busting him open. It is all Mosca with every brawling tactic in the book. Choke slam (ch) and a bloody Gotch kicks out the cover (R9/P1). SLEEPER and Gotch is finished (R2/P2). Huge victory for Mosca! Snake eyes strikes again!
Bill Apter welcomes World Champion Rikidozan to the Hot Seat and Rikidozan has nothing nice to say thought his interpreter during his second appearance with Apter. Rikidozan complains that the wrestling media has refused to recognize his greatness and he blames Apter for this. Rikidozan grabs Apter and his about to unleash THUNDEROUS CHOPS when Tiger Mask and Jushin Liger arrive break up the attack and Rikidozan retreats to the back.
Match 5: Brutus Beefcake v. Buff Bagwell Bagwell draws serious heat on the way to the ring. Bagwell grabs the mic and tells the fans to eat their hearts out before striking a series of flexes. Beefcake is out to a solid pop. It is all Bagwell from the bell but Beefcake does not go down easy and counters a backdrop with a piledriver that thrills the fans. FLYING KNEE SMASH for a 2 count (R6/P5). FLYING KNEE SMASH. 1, 2, 3 (R5/P6). The crowd loves it and Bagwell loses his mind at ringside after the bell.
Match 6: Terry Gordy & Killer Kowalski v. Don Leo Jonathan & Bruiser Brody Gordy & Kowalski go on the attack before the bell and meet their opponents in the aisle. When the action returns to the ring, Kowalski controls Jonathan. Gordy tags in and sends Jonathan into the buckles but Jonathan is able to backdrop Gordy to the floor. Gordy drags Jonathan to the floor and rams him into the ring post. ORIENTAL SPIKE and a bloody Jonathan is able to power out (R12/P3). Gordy goes back to the hold again but Jonathan is not worn down enough yet (R9/P4). Kowalski tags back in and Jonathan counters a choke slam (ch) and Brody tags in to a huge ovation. One hand body slam and Kowalski bails to the floor. Kowalski avoids a falling double hammer at ringside. Kowalski with a giant swing and the action returns to the floor. Brody eats the ring side rails and is busted open. KOWALSKI CLAW and Brody is able to punch free (R7/P4). Both teams are able to make multiple tags before Jonathan counter Kowalski’s backdrop with a piledriver. Gordy forces Jonathan to the floor with a Bamm Bamm Slam as the action continues to go back and forth. Gordy cracks Jonathan with a chair shot at ringside and then traps him in an ORIENTAL SPIKE but Jonathan powers free (R12/P5). PILEDRIVER. Brody makes the pin save. PILEDRIVER and Gordy pins Jonathan for the second straight match (R8/P9).
Match 7: Road Warriors w/Paul Ellering v. The Mongols w/Captain Lou Albano Solid pop for the Warriors as they come to the ring. The fans are all over Albano at ringside. Animal and Geeto Mongol trade moves. Mongol reverses a whip into the corner and Animal hits the corner and then counter Geeto’s charge with a running clothesline. Animal with a deathjump double hammer and then he tosses Geeto to the floor. Animal with a battering ram into the ring post! Hawk tags in and climbs the corner for a deathjump fist drop but Albano knocks Hawk off the top of the corner and the Road Warrior crashes to the mat. A bloody Geeto covers for a 1 count (R6/P2). Bepo takes the action to the floor and Hawk wins the fight. Animal tags in and plants Bepo with a POWERSLAM for the three count (R2/P4). Snake eyes for the second time tonight! The Warriors are not finished. Double clothesline for Geeto and then a DOOMSDAY DEVICE for Bepo. The Warriors stand on the corners of the ring soaking up the cheers from ringside. Bepo is not moving and needs medical assistance.

Match 8: Jim Londos v. Ed “Strangler” Lewis The crowd is solidly behind Londos especially the ladies at ringside. Both men counter wrestle to perfection until Lewis catches Londos in a full nelson and then moves to a STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK. Londos gets free (R4/P1) by grabbing the ropes. STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK and Londos twists free (R8/P2). Lewis is able to counter a stepover toehold and the momentum turns but Lewis is able to counter a backdrop with a piledriver. Lewis with a bear hug followed by a double wristlock. STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK and Lewis counters (R6/P3). STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK and Londos refuses to go down (R10/P4). Lewis has an answer for everything Londos can throw at him. Londos reverses an Irish whip to the corner but Lewis is able to backdrop Londos over the ropes to the floor. Lewis comes outside and roughs up Londos at ringside. STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK but Londos hangs on (R8/P5). STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK and the again the Golden Greek escapes (R9/P6). STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK and that is it. (R5/P7). Dominating win by Lewis.
Match 9: World Tag Team Title Match – Cowboy Bob Orton & Bob Orton Sr. (ch) v. Midnight Express w/Jim Cornette The Express made their way into this match at the expense of the Killer Bees with an impressive victory in a ladder match on May 13th. The fans don’t like either team but they cannot stand Cornette and give it to him at ringside. Bobby Eaton frustrates Cowboy Bob Orton and Orton tags in his father who also struggles to get something going. Eaton’s deathjump smash takes out the referee but only for a moment. Stan Lane tags in and Orton Sr. catches Lane on the top of the corner and tosses him to the mat. Orton tags in and hits a SUPERPLEX on Lane for a 2 count (R8/P5). Orton Sr. is back in and hits a deathjump smash on Lane that traps him in the ropes. Orton hammers away on Lane and when the referee steps into free Lane, Orton shoves him to the mat and is disqualified. The beat down continues until security arrives and break things up.

Card #11 – Legends Arena: Ceremony
Match 1: Antonino Rocca v. Dan “The Beast” Severn The fans are not pleased to see The Beast back in action at the Legends Arena and let him know it. Severn escapes to the floor after a crushing body scissors and Rocca comes off the top of the corner onto Severn’s shoulders and hammers away with punches. Severn counters a backdrop with a piledriver and takes the action to the floor after a heel hook. Severn cracks Rocca with a chair across the back. Severn ties Rocca in the ropes and hammers away drawing solid beat. Bow and arrow and Rocca battles free (R6/P1). Heel hook followed by WAKIGATAME but Rocca escapes (R7/P3). It is all Severn including a fireman’s carry slam. A German suplex sends Rocca to the floor but Severn misses a double hammer off the apron. Rocca scales the corner and tries to leap onto Severn’s shoulder again at ringside but Severn reverses the move and fireman’s carry slams Rocca through a ringside table! The crowd is going insane. Back inside, Severn tries for the victory with a heel hook but Rocca escapes (R9/P4). Rocca maneuvers out of bow and arrow (R9/P5) and Severn continues to control the action. A face slap with foot enrages Severn and he makes the mistake of sending Rocca into the ropes allowing Rocca to counter a backdrop with a piledriver. The crowd cannot believe it and Rocca locks in the ARGENTINAN BACKBREAKER but Severn is able to hook the ropes (R6/P5). Flying dropkicks topple Severn to the floor and Rocca dives out onto Severn at ringside. The crowd is roaring. It is all Rocca. Three consecutive victory rolls make the fans and Severn dizzy. 1, 2, shoulder up (R5/P4). The action goes to the floor and Rocca comes off the buckles onto Severn. The fans are going wild. Severn eats the ring rails and is busted open. Flying head scissors for a 2 ½ count (R6/P5). Deathjump smash sets up a bow and arrow and Severn cannot escape (R6/P6). What an opener!
Match 2: Don Muraco & Fritz Von Goering v. Dick Hutton & Ilio DiPaolo The fans are still buzzing after the last match and give Hutton & DiPaolo a warn reception. Von Goering and DiPaolo trade moves. Muraco is in and scores with a vertical suplex followed by a choke slam (ch) and DiPaolo kicks out of the cover (R5/P3). HAWAIIAN HAMMER for a 1 count (R10/P6). Von Goering is back in with a spinning neckbreaker for a 2 count (R7/P5). It is all Von Goering and a pair of knee drops to the throat that sends DiPaolo to the floor. DiPaolo whips Von Goering into the ring post busting him open. Hutton tags in to a hug pop. Atomic drop sets up an ABDOMINAL STRETCH but Von Goering escapes (R7/P4). Hutton uses a side salto to take down Von Goering before tossing Von Goering to the floor. Hutton cracks Von Goering across the back with a chair shot and is disqualified.
Match 3: Frank Gotch v. Ed “Strangler” Lewis Lewis remains undefeated in singles competition heading into this match including a previous victory over Gotch on April 11th. The fans are solidly behind Gotch and give Lewis huge heat when he attacks Gotch at ringside but Gotch is able to turn things around and Lewis eats the ringside table. Gotch with a double hammer off the apron but Lewis counters with a bear hug that has Gotch wincing at ringside. Back inside. STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK. Gotch escapes (R8/P1). Lewis with a stepover toehold followed by a full nelson. Gotch escapes (R11/P2). Gotch countered a spinning neckbreaker with an Iowa backdrop and Lewis bails to the floor. Lewis eats the ringside rails and is busted open. Gotch cannot hold the advantage and Lewis works over Gotch with full nelsons, a huge back body drop and a double wrist lock. STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK and Gotch gets free again (R6/P3). STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK and Gotch breaks free (R10/P4). STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK and Gotch finds the counter again (R12/P5). Lewis and Gotch both miss moves and Lewis downs Gotch in the corner with a shoulder tackles. Gotch goes into the ropes and Lewis shoulder blocks him to the mat. Gotch goes into the ropes again and Lewis goes for a back drop. Gotch counters with a piledriver! The crowd explodes. Guillotine choke and Lewis counters (R6/P2). GOTCH TOE HOLD. Lewis is in the middle of the ring and has nowhere to go. Lewis taps and drops his first singles match (R6/P6). Huge comeback win for the Peerless One!
Match 4: Tiger Mask & Jushin “Thunder” Liger v. Rob Van Dam & Buddy Rogers w/Bill Alfonso The fans just hate Alfonso and give it to him at ringside. Solid pop for the Japanese masked superstars. Media from Japan cover the match at ringside. Liger is cut off from his corner early on by Van Dam and Rogers. Rogers plants Liger with three consecutive piledrivers! The crowd is going nuts. Liger counters Van Dam’s choke slam (ch) and the action turns around as Mask tags in. Van Dam goes to ringside and Mask dives over the ropes onto Van Dam sending both men crashing into the rails. The fans are roaring. Alfonso is whistling. Mask flies over the ropes a second time with a dive that sends Van Dam spilling up the aisle. Rogers and Alfonso check on Van Dam and Mask flies a third time taking out all three men! The fans cannot believe it. Mask with a pair of deathjumps when Van Dam returns to the ring but Van Dam counters a chokeslam (ch) and Rogers is back in. Jumping knee smash to Mask’s leg sets up a FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE. Mask cannot escape (R5/P5). Mask is not pleased after the match and gets in Liger’s face no doubt wondering why he did not save him. Liger turns to leave the ring and then attacks Mask with an enzuigiri leaving Mask dazed in the ring.
Road Warriors and Paul Ellering make their second appearance on the Hot Seat with Bill Apter and tell the fans that any team that stands in their way will end up just like the Mongols. The Warriors tell everyone that they will be the next World Tag Team Champions.
Match 5: Killer Kowalski & Terry Gordy v. Killer Bees Gordy & Kowalski have been on quite a run this month with a pair of big wins over Don Leo Jonathan and Bruiser Brody while the Bees have fallen from the top contenders position and are looking to get back there again. B. Brian Blair step in against Kowalski and we are underway. Kowalski goes into the ropes and the Bees double up for a backdrop and then an atomic drop for a 1 count (R7/P3). Blair takes the match to ringside but Kowalski counters a double hammer with a bear hug and rams Blair back first into the ring apron. Gordy relieves Kowalski and downs Blair with a running lariat for a 2 count (R6/P4). POWERBOMB. Kowalski blocks Jim Brunzell from making the save and Gordy gets the 3 count (R7/P7).
Match 6: Brutus Beefcake v. Buff Bagwell Beefcake got the best of his former partner last card at the Legends Arena and Bagwell was not pleased demanding a rematch. Bagwell taunts the fans before the match drawing great heat. Bagwell takes an early control of the match but taunts the crowd after every move and it costs him when Beefcake counters a backdrop with a piledriver. The crowd is behind Beefcake but Bagwell counters a scoop slam and stops Beefcake cold with a dropkick for a close fall (R4/P3). It is all Bagwell and the fans are all over him. Beefcake counters a charge into the corner with an elbow to the face. A running stomp sets up a deathjump knee smash and a deathjump clothesline. FLYING KNEE SMASH but Bagwell kicks out (R11/P6). Beefcake with a series of kicks and slams but Bagwell counters a backdrop with a piledriver and then follows with a double arm DDT for a 2 count (R7/P4). Bagwell hits a swinging neckbreaker and puts Beefcake away with a scoop slam (R5/P5).
Match 7: Angelo Mosca v. Bruiser Brody Brody charges the ring with Zeppelin playing and his chain flying sending the undefeated Mosca to the floor. Despite the impressive entrance, Brody has no offense early on in or out of the ring. Mosca hammers way on Brody and tries to put his away with a SLEEPER but Brody powers out (R8/P2). Mosca continues to dominate the match with stomps, a pair of heart punches and a running clothesline that sends Brody to the floor. Brody eats the rails and is busted open. Mosca comes off the top with an elbow to the top of Brody’s head. SLEEPER and Brody escapes (R9/P3). Brody finally finds a way to counter Mosca’s attack and unleashes hammer punches followed by a twisting vertical suplex. Brody suddenly hooks the leg and the referee is in position. 1, 2, 3/kickout (R3/P3). The bell sounds and Brody hand is raised but Mosca is all over the referee saying he kicked out. Mosca goes after Brody and both men brawl around ringside until security arrives.
Match 8: Stan Lane w/Jim Cornette v. Bob Orton Sr. The Midnight Express picked up a controversial disqualification win over the World Tag Team Champions Bob Orton Sr. and Cowboy Bob Orton on May 17th and now Stan Lane battles Bob Orton Sr. in singles action. Cornette is at ringside drawing great heat but the fans are wondering where Bobby Eaton and Cowboy Bob Orton are. Lane controls the match at the bell but Orton overpowers Lane and slows the match down with three stepover toeholds. Lane wins a brawl at ringside and then rams Orton’s face into the steel rails busting Orton open. The referee calls for the bell and disqualifies Lane. The fans hate the call but the action continues with Bobby Eaton and Cowboy Bob Orton joining in. Security arrives and pulls the two teams apart.

Mascaras scales the corner for a deathjump smash into Rikidozan’s boot. Rikidozan climbs the corner for his own deathjump smash… into Mascaras’s boot. It is all Mascaras with deep arm drags and rolling head scissors. Slingshot plancha for a 1 count (R10/P2). Rikidozan counters a standing surfboard and explodes on offense. Overhead chops down Mascaras for a 1 count (R8/P1). Rikidozan decides not to send Mascaras into the ropes and lands a slap to the chest for another 1 count (R7/P2). Rikidozan tosses Mascaras to the floor and comes out after him but Mascaras reverses a whip into the steel rails. FLYING BODYPRESS for a 1 count (R8/P4). Mascaras ties up the champion in an octopus hold and then hits a deathjump smash. CROSSBODY ATTACK. 1, 2, 3 (R3/P4). Mascaras regains the World Title!

Kids have been ill for the past few weeks so the next card was held up for a while. But everyone is now on the mend and the dice are rolling once again!
Card #12 – Legends Arena: Acceleration
Match 1: Killer Bees v. The James Gang Both these teams have been heading in the wrong direction in recent weeks and were looking to turn things around with a win tonight. B.G. James is on the mic during the introductions and gets some cheap heat from the crowd. Kip James looks impressive against Jim Brunzell early on including a standing dropkick. B. Brian Blair turns things around after a defensive tag and downs James for a 1 count with a full nelson suplex (ch) (R9/P3). BEE STING for a 1 count (R9/P5). Brunzell with a deathjump smash but James rolls clear and Brunzell crashes to the mat. Cover for a ½ count (R12/P3). B. G. James is in and works over Brunzell including a Shake, Rattle & Roll Knee Drop for a 1 count (R12/P4). James Irish whips Brunzell hard into the rails at ringside and then drops him with a DDT for a 1 count (R9/P5). Brunzell counters shuffling punches and Blair hot tags into the action. Arm drag and dropkick leads to a BEE STING. Brunzell hooks the leg for the three count (R4/P5).
Match 2: Dick Hutton and Ilio DiPaolo v. Fritz Von Goering & Don Muraco Dick Hutton’s temper cost him a disqualification loss last time these four men clashed in tag team action. Great heat for Von Goering. The heels attack before Gary Michael Cappetta can finish the introductions but Hutton quickly turns things around on Muraco while DiPaolo brawls with Von Goering. Hutton uses a Cowboy backbreaker followed by an ABDOMINAL STRETCH. Muraco powers out (R10/P3). An Oklahoma sideroll sends Muraco to the floor where the fans are all over him with a “beach bum” chant. Hutton comes outside and brawls with Muraco around the ring. Hutton maintains control when the action returns to the ring and traps Muraco in a figure four leglock (ch). Muraco gives up (R3/P3). Impressive performance by Hutton as neither team makes a tag.
Match 3: Brutus Beefcake v. Buff Bagwell Beefcake is out to a solid pop after Bagwell runs down the fans on the mic talking about his own perfection. Beefcake can get nothing going early on. Both men crash together after each goes for a clothesline but Bagwell is the first to recover. Bagwell with a BUFF BLOCKBUSTER for a 2 count (R7/P4). Bagwell keeps the pressure on with slams and knees. Beefcake counters Bagwell’s clothesline with one of his own and both men go down hard. Bagwell is once again up first. BUFF BLOCKBUSTER. Beefcake kicks out of the cover (R8/P5). Bagwell with a deathjump smash. BUFF BLOCKBUSTER. Beefcake rolls the shoulder (R10/P6). A double arm DDT sends Beefcake to the floor and when he crawls back in, Bagwell finishes the match with a BUFF BLOCKBUSTER (R4/P7).
Match 4: Buddy Rogers v. Don Leo Jonathan Rogers draws great heat during the introductions. Jonathan has struggled recently in his feud against Terry Gordy and Killer Kowalski and changing things up tonight in taking on the Nature Boy. Rogers has a hard time dealing with Jonathan’s size but manages to roll clear of a butt drop and takes the action to the floor. Rogers comes off the top of the corner with a body drop onto Jonathan at ringside. Jonathan crawl back into the ring but Rogers simply tosses him to the opposite floor drawing heat in the process. Jonathan grabs Rogers from ringside, drags him to the floor and whips him into the ring post. Rogers is busted open but manages to block a charge into the corner with a knee to the chest. Jonathan counters a backdrop with a boot to the head. Giant swing bounces Rogers off the mat and onto the floor. The crowd is on fire. It is all Jonathan with a series of big dropkicks and a tackle in the corner. Rogers is able to counter a chokeslam and goes to work on Jonathan’s leg with jumping knee smashes. Rogers takes the action to the floor and tries a falling body block onto Jonathan at ringside but Jonathan counters with a bear hug. The pace picks up when the action returns to the ring. Jonathan hits back to back giant swings but Rogers is able to escape the ring to catch a breather. Jonathan reverses a whip into the corner and catches Rogers with a shoulder tackle. Rogers bails to the floor after a chokeslam and Jonathan comes out after him. Rogers attacks Jonathan’s leg with a chair shot and is disqualified.
Jushin “Thunder” Liger appears on the Hot Seat with Bill Apter. Apter does not waste any time and asks Liger hard questions about what happened between Liger and Tiger Mask. Liger explained that men like Apter referred to Mask as the originator of the junior heavyweight division in Japan but Liger tells Apter that Mask may have been a pioneer in wrestling but it was Liger who in the true face of Japanese junior heavyweight because Liger is the innovator. Liger tells us that he took everything Mask had done made in better. Liger wraps up telling us that he was the one taking the risk and thrilling the fans when Mask was selfish and decided to turn his back on wrestling and his fans. Liger tells the fans that it is a good thing that Tiger Mask hides his face because it is the face of man who cares only for himself. Liger finally states that Rikidozan was right about Mask. He is an embarrassment to Puroresu.
Match 5: Rob Van Dam w/Bill Afonso v. Jim Londos Great heat for Alfonso and his whistle at ringside. The ladies and youngsters love Londos and give him a warm reception during the introductions. It is back and forth from the bell with neither man gaining an advantage. Van Dam hits a split legged moonsault and follows with a body scissors cradle for a 1 count (R5/P1). Alfonso tosses up a chair and it is a Van Daminator. Londos is a bloody mess. Van Dam keeps on the offensive with a standing moonsault and Rolling Thunder. The crowd is frantic. Fozy has another chair. Van Daminator. The referee calls for the disqualification.
Match 6: Bruiser Brody v. Angelo Mosca Brody handed Mosca his defeat at the Legends Arena last card and Mosca was out for revenge tonight. As expected, things get crazy right way as Brody eats the ring post and is busted wide open. Heart punch puts Brody on the mat for a 1 count (R10/P2). Mosca maintains control of the action including a full nelson and a bearhug. Mosca takes the action to the floor and both men tear apart ringside. Brody grabs his chain and Mosca defends with a chair. The referee calls for the bell disqualifying both men. Brody manages to get his chair around Mosca’s neck as security arrives to pull the two men apart.
Match 7: Ed “The Strangler” Lewis v. Frank Gotch Lewis suffered his first loss in singles action at the Legends Arena last card at the hands of Gotch and immediately demanded a rematch. The crowd is solidly behind Gotch during the introductions. Gotch opens with an ankle pick and then sends Lewis into the ropes. Duck under and then both men connect with a clothesline and go down in a heap. Gotch is up first and attacks with a rolling kneebar. Lewis is tossed to the floor and Gotch comes outside and traps him in a GOTCH TOE HOLD at ringside. Lewis is tossed to the floor again but this time he drags Gotch out with him and whips Gotch shoulder first into the ring post. Lewis cracks Gotch across the back with a chair shot drawing great heat. STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK and Gotch counters (R8/P1). STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK and Gotch escapes (R11/P2). Gotch counters a stepover toehold but Lewis overpowers Gotch with a full nelson. Gotch counters (R7/P3) but Lewis applies a STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK. Gotch is able to escape again (R8/P4). Lewis moves to a series of whips into the corner with tackles. Gotch catches Lewis with an elbow to the face and moves right to a rolling knee bar. Lewis barely makes it to the ropes (R5/P4) to keep the match alive. Gotch is in control with a guillotine choke. Gotch with a pair of spinning neckbreakers but Lewis counters a charge to the corner with an elbow to the face. Lewis with his own spinning neckbreaker and then a whip into the corner. Lewis charges into Gotch’s elbow. Both men exchange moves in a clinic of counterwrestling. Gotch scores with a running slingshot but cannot capitalize. Gotch counters a spinning neckbreaker and traps Lewis in a rolling knee bar. Lewis wins a brawl on the floor and then sends Gotch into the ropes. Backdrop but Gotch counters with a piledriver. GOTCH TOE HOLD. Dan Severn attacks Gotch with a German suplex. The referee lets the action continue. Lewis with a STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK. Gotch passes out (R2/P5). Snake eyes! Lewis refuses to release the hold as Severn holds security back. Finally Lewis relents and Gotch falls limp to the mat and needs urgent medical attention. Gotch is removed on a stretcher.
Commissioner Charlie Cox comes to the ring and announces he has suspended Ed “The Strangler” Lewis and Dan “The Beast” Severn for 12 weeks.
Match 8: Road Warriors w/Paul Ellering v. Terry Gordy and Killer Kowalski Great heat for Kowalski and Gordy as they come to ringside. It is back and forth at the bell with neither team getting a clear advantage. Hawk catches Kowalski with a running clothesline for a 1 count (R9/P3). Hawk unleashes the punishment on Kowalski. Gordy is in on defense and downs Hawk with a back suplex for very close call (R3/P2). Gordy with a deathjump clothesline on Hawk followed by a running lariat. Cover for 2 count (R3/P5). PILEDRIVER. Kowalski blocks Animal and Gordy picks up the three count (R6/P6). Huge win for Kowalski and Gordy.
Match 9: World Tag Team Title Match – Bob Orton Sr. and Cowboy Bob Orton v. Midnight Express w/Jim Cornette. Cornette jars with the fans at ringside drawing fantastic heat. Bobby Eaton steps in against Cowboy Bob Orton and they trade moves. Eaton catches Orton with a spinning neckbreaker and hooks the leg for the title win (R3/P2). Snake Eyes strikes again! The fans are stunned.
