Why are the prices different for both of these and why do you have to start with First Time Buyers? In the end, isn't it all the same?

I'm not sure what you mean by First Time Buyers. Can you clarify what you mean? I won't be able to answer anything about pricing but was not sure what you meant.

I don't see different prices. I see different products, but the ones with the same name have the same cost. Unless I am missing something.

This is just a guess Cernunnos, but I thinking that the 'first time buyers' one probably includes every guy active in those years, while the 'packs' are the sets like you'd get if you bought the cards.
Perhaps someone that's purchased them could confirm or deny.

My guess..... is that the price difference is ultimately like you are purchasing the online service. There is no subscription anymore so the first purchase is 'higher'. Now I was trying to figure out why some are grossly different in prices. I'd wonder if Revolution and Civil war first times are higher as you get previous sets? But when I checked it out Civil War comes after Revolution so it theoretically should be higher than Revolution.
But I would assume that the first time buyers is to purchase the service basically....
