Heartland Championship Wrestling Heartland Havoc XXII: The Dawning of a New Era University of Dayton Arena, Dayton, Ohio December 20, 2008 The show opens with the HCW Leadership Team in the ring: COMMISSIONER LUKE, JR JAMES, and DAYTONDAVE. All three are dressed in black tuxedos. Streamers fall from the ceiling as the tune "Black and Blue" by Van Halen plays overhead. ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeIc2bZkbvw ) MISS BERTHA joins Luke, dressed in a short black cocktail dress and perched precariously on high heels as she wriggles her hips in time to the music. Luke smiles broadly as JR appears nauseous. Daytondave puts on a pair of sunglasses as he steps forward to address the packed arena.Daytondave: Welcome, fans of the HCW! Tonight is the night for Heartland Havoc XXII! Daytondave is in the house and comin' at ya along with my Old School counterpart, JR James, to bring you The Dawning of a New Era! JR, give me the 4-1-1 on tonight's action! JR: I think I miss Christy Hemme... Daytondave: Easy there, my man. Don't diss the Commish! JR: Indeed. Daytondave: Fans, you've heard the hype- and now it is time for the Heartland to deliver! We've got three titles on the line, capped off by the top prize in the federation as BRUISER BRODY defends the Heartland Heavyweight Championship against TAKESHI MORISHIMA!JR: That will be a tremendous battle, Daytondave, no question about that. We'll also see the Old School United States Championship contested, as BOBBY HEENAN leads his man, RAY "THE CRIPPLER STEVENS, into the ring to challenge the current title holder, THE DESTROYER! Fans- we have just gotten word of an incident taking place backstage! Let's get our backstage crew to give us a report on the action! WILDMAN BUTCH MICHAELS- what is going on? Wildman: JR- Warfare Combat Champion THE MISSING LINK has been attacked backstage! Of course you know, the Combat Championship is defended under 24/7 rules- and TITO SANTANA has jumped Link in the locker room! The camera arrives backstage to reveal Santana and Link pounding away at each other! Link drives a knee into the gut of Santana, doubling him over. He grabs Tito by the back of the neck and drives him face first into the lockers! Santana goes down, and Link stomps him furiously. Link turns over a table, grabbing a steel chair! Before Santana can get to his feet, Link waffles him across the back! Santana goes down in a heap on the floor.Wildman: The fight is on, JR! I can see referee HEATHER OWENS headed in this direction to watch the action! JR: Thanks for the update, Wildman! Fans, we already have a match waiting in the ring! We'll keep you informed about the Combat Championship brawl, and if anything is decided back there, we'll have that footage for you. Now, let's head to the ring for tonight's opening contest. NO DISQUALIFICATION GRUDGE MATCH: HARLEY RACE vs. KING KONG BUNDY (w/ JIM CORNETTE)(Referee: Charles Robinson)In the first major grudge match of the evening, the infuriated Harley Race came out with a vengeance! Race dominated Bundy all over the ring, nearly scoring a victory after dropping him with a spinning neckbreaker. When Cornette came in and interrupted the pinfall, Race clotheslined him over the top rope, sending him tumbling to the concrete! Race pursued Cornette, but Bundy cut him off and a brawl broke out on the arena floor. Bundy attempted to smash Race onto the ring steps, but Harley reversed the move and smashed Kong's head solidly onto the steel. With Brody stunned, Race lifted him for another piledriver on the floor! Cornette screamed madly, and STAN LANE and BOBBY EATON dashed to ringside to attack Race. The Midnights were able to take advantage against Race, stomping him to the ground. They pulled Race up to his knees, where Cornette prepared to swing his tennis racket, but HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN roared in from back stage swinging his 2x4! Cornette dropped his racket and dashed away to safety as Duggan and Race brawled with Bundy and the Midnights. Despite being outnumbered, Harley and Hacksaw beat back Cornette's men and the battle raged until Heartland Security, led by BIG JIM THE ENFORCER, got the situation under control. MATCH RESULT: NO CONTESTJR: What an opening to tonight's broadcast! We've only had one scheduled match take place, but already two huge brawls are taking place! Nothing has been settled between Race and Cornette. Wildman, what is going on backstage? The scene returns to the hallway in the backstage area. Santana is down on the floor, and Link climbs onto a steel crate, preparing to leap onto Tito with a double axe-handle blow. But Santana recovers, and grabs Link on the crate. Santana hurls Link to the concrete floor! Link crashes down hard, clearly in pain. Tito immediately wraps Link into a figure-4 leglock! Link howls furiously and pounds on his own chest with his fists as he fights through the pain.Wildman: Would you look at that, fans? Link is trapped in the figure-4 but he refuses to submit! Link finally has the presence of mind to reach over and grab a nearby mop, which he drives into the stomach of Santana. Tito is forced to break the hold and both men stagger to their feet.JR: Thanks for the update, Wildman! Things are out of control back there! But we have another match ready in the ring, so let's take a look at the Warfare Cruiserweights! JOHN CANDY CRUISERWEIGHT CUP: MIKE QUACKENBUSH (c) vs. DANNY HODGE(Referee: Joe Kopasz)The much-anticipated match-up between Quackenbush and Hodge exceeded expectations! Hodge kept the match at a slow pace, grinding together chain wrestling moves on the mat. He stretched Quackenbush repeatedly, wearing his foe down with a grueling abdominal stretch and repeated applications of the Boston Crab. But Quack fought back, picking up the tempo of the match with a series of running palm strikes and flooring Hodge with his unorthodox arm drags. The rugged Hodge took the match to the arena floor, but Quackenbush was up to the task, twice getting the edge in the free-for-all, then sending Hodge back into the ring where he delivered an amazing Swanton Dive! Hodge kicked out of the pinfall, then grabbed Quackenbush by the tights and hurled him out of the ring. This time, Hodge got the best of the champion and planted him with a suplex on the concrete floor. Quackenbush was unable to return to the ring as Joe Kopasz delivered a 10-count and awarded the decision to Hodge by countout. After the bell, Hodge grabbed a microphone and shouted at Quackenbush. Hodge: I gotta hand it to ya, kid. You showed me a little more gumption than I expected tonight. But I still ain't impressed. Your flippin' and your floppin' ain't the way to win a wrestling match. Next time I get my hands on you, I'm gonna wear you out. I'm gonna prove to you that I am the best daggone cruiserweight in this business! WINNER: DANNY HODGE(Quackenbush counted out after suplex on arena floor)Daytondave: I don't believe either man is satisfied with that result. Both men brought everything they had into this contest, but it looks like this is a rivalry that is destined to continue. Hodge just laid down another challenge. Let's see what Commissioner Luke has to say about that! Luke, what do you think? The camera shifts up to the Commissioner's box. Cousin Luke and Miss Bertha are sitting together in a love seat. Bertha has shed her high heels, and her size 13 feet are strewn across Luke's lap. Luke is smiling broadly and painting Bertha's toenails.Daytondave: Luke? Sir? Do you have a ruling on Danny Hodge's challenge? Luke: Dadgum it, Daytondave! You of all people oughta know not to interrupt a feller in the middle of courtin'. Now git that camera outta here! Daytondave: You're right, Mr. Commissioner. We'll check with you about that later. JR: I think I just threw up a little in the back of my mouth. Before JR can continue, MISSING LINK and TITO SANTANA burst through the curtain, still brawling fiercely! Link catches Tito by the back of the head and drops him hard on the steel ramp with a DDT! Tito rolls over, dazed, with a nasty gash across his forehead! Link goes for the elbow drop, but Santana alertly rolls aside. Link crashes hard onto the ramp, stunned. Referee Heather Owens begins to put the count on both men. RAY "THE CRIPPLER" STEVENS and BOBBY HEENAN emerge through the curtain. Heenan stands over Santana briefly, poking Tito with his toe and watching for signs of life. Stevens looks down at Link, shrugs his shoulders and heads to the ring.HCW OLD SCHOOL UNITED STATES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIPTHE DESTROYER (c) vs. RAY "THE CRIPPLER" STEVENS (w/ BOBBY "THE BRAIN" HEENAN)(Referee: Charles Robinson)Destroyer and Stevens hooked up in a highly competitive match. The advantage went back and forth, and Destroyer gradually took control after 15 minutes. Destroyer locked in the figure-4, and it appeared that Stevens was finished until Bobby Heenan managed to assist him to reach the bottom rope. In frustration, Destroyer went to the floor and chased Heenan away from ringside! But Stevens took advantage of the distraction and regained his strength. The Crippler caught The Destroyer coming off the ropes and slung him throat-first across the top rope! Destroyer went down hard and Stevens took advantage, going immediately to the top turnbuckle and delivering the Bombs Away to capture the pinfall! WINNER: RAY "THE CRIPPLER" STEVENS(Stevens pinned The Destroyer after a Bombs Away)RAY STEVENS CAPTURES THE UNITED STATES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIPJR: A terrific bout! Both men came with their best tonight, but Bobby The Brain gave Stevens just the advantage he needed to come away victorious. Congratulations to The Crippler on his first taste of HCW gold! At the top of the ring ramp, both Link and Santana have recovered and are staggering to their feet. Link picks up a steel chain and wraps it around his fist. Santana lunges at him, but Link delivers a mighty blow with the chain. Santana goes down hard. He returns to his feet, wobbly and bleeding profusely from the forehead as he stumbles through the curtain. Link pursues him back stage and Heather Owens follows.Daytondave: Santana has adorned the proverbial crimson mask! I think our man may have bitten off more than he can chew. We'll have Butch Michaels keep an eye on that situation while we go back to the ring for another exciting match. CHRIS CANDIDO has had his hands full of RICK RUDE, and tonight that feud comes to a head! If Candido can defeat Rude tonight, the Ravishing One will face a 60-day suspension! But, if Rude wins, TAMMY LYNN SYTCH will belong to him for one month. Who will prevail? WARFARE GRUDGE MATCH: SPECIAL STIPULATIONS "RAVISHING" RICK RUDE vs. CHRIS CANDIDO (w/ TAMMY LYNN SYTCH)(Referee: Joe Kopasz)The hatred between Candido and Rude exploded yet again! Rude dominated the early stages of the match, pummeling Candido with high impact clotheslines and a top rope sledgehammer. Candido escaped to the ring floor, where he attacked Rude with everything he could get his hands on! Candido landed a mighty shot to Rude's head with the ring bell, dropping him to the floor in a daze. Tammy cheered as her man tossed Rude back into the ring. But Rude was far from finished, rallying again with a knee to the face of the charging Candido. That was all the opening that Rude needed to set up the Rude Awakening. Three seconds later, Rude emerged victorious. WINNER: "RAVISHING" RICK RUDE(Rude pinned Candido after a Rude Awakening)After the decision, Rude turned his attention to Tammy. He smirked and began to swivel his hips! Tammy scowled and turned away, running up the ramp. But before she could escape, BIG JIM THE ENFORCER caught her! Jim hoisted her onto his shoulder and carried her back toward the ring. Rude met Jim halfway up the ramp, picked up Tammy and carried her through the curtain. Candido staggered to his feet in the ring and kicked at the ropes in frustration.Daytondave: That is a travesty of the highest magnitude, fans. Chris Candido just saw the love of his life taken away from him and there's nothing he can do about it. Of course, I have NO IDEA what he is going through- I've never been jilted by a lady in all my days as a chick magnet. And poor Tammy, she is stuck with Rick Rude for the next 30 days! Fans- the brawl between Link and Santana rages on back stage! Wildman, give us an update! Wildman: Daytondave, it's out of control back here! Link has chased Santana back to the concession area! The camera follows as Santana and Link brawl through concession stand. Santana grabs Link by the arm and whips him into the popcorn maker! Link crashes through the glass, sending popcorn flying everywhere. Link stumbles to his feet, as the camera reveals a deep cut in his back. Santana charges at Link with a clothesline, knocking him back onto the grill! Link shrieks as his back lands on the hot metal, searing his flesh before he drops to the floor. Tito immediately grabs him by the leg and wraps him into the Figure-4! Still howling in pain, Link taps out, and Heather Owens quickly pulls Santana away and calls for security to provide assitance. Both men lie on the concession stand floor, beaten and broken as paramedics arrive on the scene. WINNER: TITO SANTANA(Santana forced Link to submit to the Figure-4 Leglock)TITO SANTANA CAPTURES THE HCW WARFARE COMBAT CHAMPIONSHIPDaytondave: Fans, that is the kind of action that Warfare is about! I don't know whether to congratulate Tito Santana, or to offer my condolences- now that he holds the belt, he has to watch his back constantly! Here's hoping that both Santana and Missing Link will recover quickly and without serious injury. That was one helluva brawl! JR: No question about that, Daytondave. Finally, fans, it is time for tonight's main event! The biggest prize of all, the Heartland Heavyweight Championship, is on the line in our final match of the evening. MAIN EVENT: HEARTLAND HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP BRUISER BRODY (c) vs. TAKESHI MORISHIMA(Referee: Nick Patrick)In a stunning contest, Morishima opened with a flurry and quickly put the champion on the defensive! Morishima exploded off the ropes and planted Brody with a flying forearm. Before he could recover, Morishima nailed him with a Running Hip Attack! Brody was stunned, and Morishima quickly took advantage, delivering a devastating Powerbomb Hold and pinning the champion cleanly! WINNER: TAKESHI MORISHIMA(Morishima pinned Brody after a Powerbomb Hold)TAKESHI MORISHIMA WINS THE HEARTLAND HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIPJR: Congratulations to Takeshi Morishima! This superstar from Pro Wrestling NOAH has captured the top title in Heartland Championship Wrestling! No question, this event will make international news! Daytondave: You got that right, JR! They said it couldn't be done! But Brody proved himself human tonight, and is now a FORMER HCW Champion. He will most assuredly exercise his rematch clause and get back in the ring with Morishima for what should be an epic return bout! COMMISSIONER LUKE makes his way to the ring to present Morishima with the title belt. A Japanese contingent of TIGER MASK, JUSHIN LIGER, GIANT BABA, and ANTONIO INOKI joined Morishima in the celebration. Brody stomped the mat in frustration, then shook the hand of the new champion and left the ring. Daytondave: Fans, it has been a helluva night here at the UD Arena! Three title changes! Not to mention some serious bloodshed. We thank you for joining us for tonight's show. HCW will be back on Wednesday night with the next episode of Warfare! We expect to hear from the Commissioner on a number of issues, including the response to the challenge laid down by DANNY HODGE for another shot at MIKE QUACKENBUSH and the Cruiserweight Cup.. So until then, fans, that's our show and WE ARE OUTTA HERE!

Heartland Championship Wrestling Wednesday Night Warfare December 24, 2008 (Card #183) Weaner Center, Defiance, Ohio The show opens with Warfare GM DAYTONDAVE in the ring, dressed in a red Ben Sherman velvet blazer, green shirt, and black Santorelli slacks as he addresses the crowd.Daytondave: Merry Christmas! Fans, good evening and welcome from the metropolis of Defiance, Ohio for tonight's episode of Warfare! Everyone has their Christmas spirit on tonight! But before we get started, let's bring out a VERY special guest! The music, "Jingle Bells" plays overhead as SANTA CLAUS makes his way down the aisle alongside RUDOLF THE RED-NOSED REINDEER.Daytondave: Santa Claus! Santa: Ho, ho, ho! Merry Christmas! Have you been a good boy this year, Daytondave? Daytondave: Let's just say, I am surprised to see you here tonight, Santa. Santa: Ho, ho, ho! You naughty boy! Daytondave: I'm not the only one. I happen to know that YOU have been naughty yourself! Santa: Now, now, Daytondave. Be a good feller and hush up about that! Daytondave: Okay, Santa. Fans, we have a great night of action for you tonight! But first, a special announcement from HCW Commissioner COUSIN LUKE! Santa: Uh, Daytondave? Luke ain't here tonight. Daytondave: He ain't? Santa: Naw. But he sent you this! Santa hands Daytondave an envelope. Daytondave tears open the envelope and reads it. Meanwhile, Santa and Rudolf depart.Santa: Merry Christmas to all y'all! And to all y'all a good night! Daytondave: I could swear I've seen that guy somewhere before... but anyhow, fans, it's time to get to business! Let's get some wrestling action started! (Tonight's referee: Heather Owens)CHRIS CANDIDO vs. GEORGEOUS GEORGE (w/ CHERIE DUPRE)Candido came out an angry man and tore through George, powerslamming him viciously to the mat and pinning him in under one minute! WINNER: CHRIS CANDIDO(Candido pinned George after a Power Slam)Daytondave: How about that, fans? Candido is one pissed off man- and I pity the dude who gets in his way! Now, fans, we really DO have an announcement from COMMISSIONER LUKE. Come on down! COMMISSIONER LUKE comes down to the ring, accompanied by MISS BERTHA.Daytondave: Miss Bertha! How lovely to see you. Ummm.. did you forget to take off your Rudolf nose? Luke: Um... Daytondave... that's her real nose... Daytondave: Oops... my bad. So, Luke, what's on your mind? Luke: The HCW Tag Team Championship! One week from tonight! OX BAKER and LARRY ZBYSZKO will be right here at Warfare to defend the belts! Daytondave: That's right, my man! TITO SANTANA and PEPPER GOMEZ have earned that title shot- right here next week! But I got a message from Santa Claus... it's signed by Tito Santana's doctor. It says that Tito is unable to wrestle for the next three weeks! He got banged up pretty badly in that Combat match at Heartland Havoc. He has requested that their title match be postponed. What are you going to do about that, Mr. Commissioner? Luke: No can do, Daytondave. The tag champions have a 30-day time limit to defend the belts! If Tito can't wrestle, we'll hafta find someone to take his place. PEPPER GOMEZ strides to the ring angrily.Gomez: No, Senor Luke! You must not divide the men of Peligroso! I cannot face the champions without my amigo Tito at my side! Luke: Sorry, feller. I done searched high and low. You know, Pepe, there are lots of the boys angry with you after what you and Tito done to that Muskrat feller. Daytondave: Mil Mascaras? Luke: Yeah, him. But I finally found you a partner for your title match. And I signed you two for a match later tonite! Gomez hangs his head in dismay as Luke departs.Daytondave: Well, fans, I guess later tonight we'll learn the identity of Pepper Gomez' partner for the championship match! Now, let's see some more action in the ring. "LIGHTNING" MIKE QUACKENBUSH vs. TIGER MASKQuackenbush and Tiger Mask put on a high-flying exhibition of spectacular moves! Quack wrestled a smart match, keeping inside of the ring and preventing Tiger Mask from launching his vaunted aerial attacks. As Quackenbush began to prevail, DANNY HODGE came to ringside and grabbed him by the ankle! Heather Owens quickly had Hodge removed from ringside, but Tiger Mask grabbed the momentum and leveled Quack with a Jumping Spin Kick! Tiger Mask rallied, but the resilient Quackenbush weathered the storm and mounted a comeback of his own. Tiger Mask went for an aggressive charge into the turnbuckle, but Quackenbush lifted a knee and sent Mask sprawling. Quackenbush immediately dropped Toger Mask with a Quackendriver and scored an impressive victory! WINNER: MIKE QUACKENBUSH(Quackenbush pinned Tiger Mask after a Quackendriver II)Daytondave: There is your Candy Cup holder, ladies and gentlemen! Quackenbush just got the best of one of the greatest high-flyers in the world. He has every right to lay claim to the title of the Best Cruiserweight on the Planet, whether Danny Hodge likes it or not! As the next match is being prepared, DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE strides to the top of the ramp and takes a microphone.Page: People of Ohio- check this out! Me and my man Playboy would like to introduce you to our new friend and manager. Put your hands together for the new face of the High Rollers- the JERSEY GIRL, TRINITY DENUCCI!THE HIGH ROLLERS (DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE & PLAYBOY BUDDY ROSE w/ TRINITY DENUCCI) vs. BLOODLUST (JUSTIN CREDIBLE & DRAKE YOUNGER w/ JONNY FAIRPLAY)The duo of Bloodlust, with an assist from Jonny Fairplay, knocked off the High Rollers tonight. Jonny kept referee Heather Owens distracted while Justin Credible worked over Buddy Rose with the Singapore Cane to set up the victory. WINNERS: BLOODLUST(Credible pinned Rose after a Short Power Bomb)Daytondave: I don't know much about this Trinity chick, but she didn't prove to be very useful for the Rollers tonight. You gotta be one dumb dame to get outsmarted by Jonny Fairplay. And speaking of dames... let's see how TAMMY LYNN SYTCH is getting along with her new beau! On cue, "RAVISHING" RICK RUDE appears at the top of the ramp, dressed in his sequined robe. He reaches back stage and pulls TAMMY LYNN SYTCH to his side. Tammy is in tears as Rude pulls her to the ring. She is dressed in a tiny black bikini, and tries to cover herself as Rude roughly drags her down the ramp. As they reach ringside, CHRIS CANDIDO bursts through the curtain and dashes toward the ring! Tammy shrieks as Candido heads down the aisle, but BIG JIM THE ENFORCER is on the spot. Jim intercepts Candido and forces him back to the dressing room as Tammy cries out to him. Jim escorts Candido back to the locker room as Rude hits the ring to start the match."RAVISHING" RICK RUDE (w/ TAMMY LYNN SYTCH) vs. STEVE CORINOThe match turned into an all-out war between Rude and Corino! The Ravishing One dominated the early stages of the match, delivering a pair of Rude Awakenings onto Corino and leaving him virtually out cold on the mat. But Rude took to showboating, pulling Corino off the canvas for a piledriver. As Rude swiveled his hips toward Tammy, Corino slipped out of the ring and retrieved a baseball bat from under the ring! Corino caught Rude in the stomach with the bat, and the momentum turned. Corino worked over Rude with suplexes and slams, and accumulated multiple near falls as the fans cheered and Tammy squealed with delight. But Rude survived the onslaught and fought back, stunning Corino with a knee lift and dropping him with a spinning neckbreaker. Finally focused on his objective, Rude came off the top rope with a kneedrop onto the fallen Corino and put him down for the three count. WINNER: "RAVISHING" RICK RUDE(Rude pinned Corino after a top rope kneedrop)Daytondave: What a match, fans! Corino gave Rude all he could handle in that match. Hopefully Rude learned a thing or two about underestimating an opponent. Tammy still doesn't look very happy to be carted around like a possession, This is only going to inflate Rude's ego that much more. PEPPER GOMEZ & TOM PRICHARD vs. THE BACKSEAT BOYZ (JOHNNY KASHMERE & TRENT ACID)The makeshift team of Gomez & Prichard got off to a rocky start, with Prichard being dominated by Trent Acid. Gomez looked disgusted at the s;uggish performance of his partner, until Prichard foiled an attempted double-team by hitting the Boyz with a vicious double clothesline! Gomez tagged into the match and immediately took control, smashing Acid with a Mexican Leap, and stunning Kashmere with a flurry of Monkey Flips. But the Boyz put their team chemistry to good use, tagging frequently and keeping relatively fresh. Gomez wore down and tagged Prichard back into the match, but the Boys caught him with the T-Gimmick. Gomez saved his partner from a pin attempt, but as Heather Owens cleared him out of the ring, the Boyz delivered a crushing double dropkick to Prichard. Kashmere made the cover as Heather turned her attention back to the action and counted the pinfall. WINNERS: THE BACKSEAT BOYZ(Kashmere pinned Prichard after a Double Dropkick) Daytondave: The Backseat Boyz continue to impress! These guys are now 3-0 in HCW competition. Gomez and Prichard showed a few flashes of adequacy. Gomez is a genuine tough guy in the ring, and Prichard is a wily and experienced tag team wrestler. But one warm-up match, in my opinion, is not gonna be enough to prepare them for the tag team champions. Heenan will have his team ready to go to work in next week's title match, and Baker and Zbyszko will have to be your prohibitive favorites to retain the titles. MAIN EVENT: HCW WARFARE AMERICAN HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP- QUALIFYING MATCH DANNY HODGE vs. THE SANDMAN (w/ JONNY FAIRPLAY)Hodge took no prisoners in this important match. He took the fight directly to the Sandman with a straight-on scientific dismantling, forcing a submission in under three minutes. WINNER: DANNY HODGE(Hodge forced Sandman to tap out to an Indian Deathlock)Daytondave: Now THAT was impressive! Danny Hodge may have failed in his first shot at the Candy Cup, but he was unstoppable tonight! Hodge is now in line for a shot to become the first ever American Heavyweight Champion! But you can rest assured that he will face a monumental task to capture that belt. Next week's qualifying match will pit MIL MASCARAS against SABU for the right to battle Hodge for the belt. That bout will be part of an exciting Double Main Event on next week's broadcast of Warfare. Of course, the biggest match of the night will be for the HCW Tag Team Championship, as we will see BOBBY HEENAN lead his champions, OX BAKER & LARRY ZBYSZKO, into a title defense against PEPPER GOMEZ and TOM PRICHARD. You won't want to miss next week's episode. And of course, be sure to tune in on Saturday night for the Old School broadcast featuring JR JAMES. We'll be back on New Year's Eve! Until then, fans, that's our show, and I AM OUTTA HERE! Warfare American Champion: Warfare Tag Team Champions: Warfare Combat Champion: TITO SANTANA

Heartland Championship Wrestling Old School Saturday Night December 27, 2008 (Card #184) Memorial Athletic Center, Kent, Ohio The show opens with JR JAMES in the center of the ring. Before JR can begin his introduction, BOBBY "THE BRAIN" HEENAN parades to the ring.JR: Good evening, fans, and welcome to HCW Old School Saturday Night! We have an outstanding card planned for you this evening! The time has come for Old School to crown a Great Lakes Champion, and in our main event tonight, we will see the first qualifying match for that championship as NICK BOCKWINKEL faces off against BOBO BRAZIL. Also, I am pleased to be joined by Bobby "The Brain" Heenan here this evening. Mr. Heenan, this is certainly a surprise! Heenan: It's a surprise to me too, Mr. Old School. It's a surprise that you have failed to recognize that you are in the presence of greatness. In case you may have missed it, humanoids, my man RAY "THE CRIPPLER" STEVENS is your new United States Heavyweight Champion! How do you like them apples? JR: No question, it was a fine performance by Stevens. The Crippler is to be congratulated! Heenan: And another thing, dummy. Don't forget about my Tag Team Champions! JR: Indeed, Mr. Heenan, your team of OX BAKER & LARRY ZBYSZKO has a stranglehold on the HCW Tag Team Championship. Heenan: And did you see those two ham-and-eggers that are challenging for the belts on New Year's Eve? TOM PRICHARD & PEPPER GOMEZ? That's the best that Warfare has to offer? JR: Perhaps if Daytondave were more concerned about promoting and less interested in the night life, then his product would be more competitive. Now, let's head to the ring for tonight's opening contest! (Tonight's referee: Charles Robinson)HEARTLAND SIX-MAN TAG TOURNAMENT: SEMI-FINALS DON MURACO, NICK BOCKWINKEL & THE CRUSHER vs. BOBBY EATON, STAN LANE, & KING KONG BUNDY (w/ JIM CORNETTE)After a tightly contested bout, Muraco surprised Bundy dodging a clothesline and nailing the big man with a backbreaker to win it! WINNERS: DON MURACO, NICK BOCKWINKEL & THE CRUSHER(Muraco pinned Bundy after a Backbreaker)JR: What an impressive show of strength by Don Muraco! Heenan: Not bad. But I doubt if he could pull off a move like that against Big Daddy Elmer. You see, Cornette can't recruit a big man the way I do. I have a much better eye for talent. JR: Whatever you say, Brain. Muraco and his team advance to the finals of the Heartland Six-Man Tag Tournament with $30,000 on the line! DICK HUTTON vs. STEVE "DR. DEATH" WILLIAMSWilliams overpowered Hutton and dominated this match from the outset. Dr. Death hit Hutton with a pair of Backdrop Drivers, and it looked like the outcome was decided. But when Williams went for a clothesline against the turnbuckle, Charles Robinson inadvertently took the blow and tumbled out of the ring. Williams continued to punish Hutton, ramming him headfirst to the security railing outside the ring. Hutton could easily have been counted out, but referee Robinson was still woosy and the match continued. Hutton finally turned the tide and worked his way back into the match. After punishing Williams with an Abdominal Stretch, Hutton took the match to the mat and outwrestled his foe. After Doc kicked out of an Oklahoma Sideroll, Hutton lifted him into a crushing Atomic Drop to capture the victory! WINNER: DICK HUTTON(Hutton pinned Williams after an Atomic Drop)JR: That was a remarkable comeback victory by Dick Hutton indeed. Heenan: I thought Williams had him dead to rights in the first ten minutes. JR: Those two big Sooners put on a heck of a show tonight. Hutton has knocked off a couple of tough oppoenents here in his Old School tenure. GIANT BABA vs. JOHNNY VALENTINEBaba and Valentine wore each other out in a very evenly matched bout. But Valentine proved himself to be a half-step better in the end, tapping out an exhausted foe. WINNER: JOHNNY VALENTINE(Valentine forced Baba to submit to an Abdominal Stretch)JR: Another terrific match-up indeed between two of the true legends of the sport! Didn't Valentine beat your guy RAY STEVENS a few weeks back? Heenan: I don't see him wearing the United States Championship, JR. So what does it matter? JR: It matters, Brain, because those two may well be on the road to another confrontation inside the squared circle. Heenan: We'll be ready for him, JR. I didn't get to be the manager of champions by accident. JR: I can't argue with that logic, Bobby. Let's see some more action in the ring. We have a tag team match up next, pitting two teams which have really struggled lately. TEAM CANADA (THE MOUNTIE & ANGELO MOSCA) vs. THE FOREIGN LEGION (IRON SHEIK & FRITZ VON GOERING w/ NIKITA BREZNIKOV)The frustrations were evident on both sides from the opening bell. Mosca started with a cheap shot on Von Goering to put his team in control. But Fritz quickly took matters to the arena floor, slamming Mosca face first to the steel steps. Sheik tagged into the match and the brutality continued. The Iranian floored Mosca with a loaded boot, then latched on the Camel Clutch. Mountie had seen enough, and dug his fingers into the Sheik's eyes, forcing him to break the clutch. Charles Robinson struggled to control the mayhem. Mosca escaped the clutch and caught Sheik in a Sleeper Hold! This prompted von Goering to remove his boot and pound Mosca across the back of the head. Mosca went down in a heap, and Robinson finally called for the bell and disqualified Von Goering for the infraction. WINNERS: TEAM CANADA(Von Goering disqualified for use of a foreign object)Following the match, Iron Sheik berated von Goering for yet another loss. Von Goering shoved Sheik, and the two partners came to blows! Sheik floored Fritz with a clubbing forearm blow, and began kicking him viciously with his loaded boots. Breznikov joined in, putting the boots to the fallen von Goering. Finally, Sheik and Breznikov turned to leave the ring, abandoning Von Goering in a crumpled heap.Heenan: Hey, Breznikov! You call that a tag team? That's pathetic. First Volkoff, and now Von Goering have been kicked to the curb. What kind of a dumbkopf are you? Breznikov turns and marches back to the announcers' table.Breznikov: SILENCE! I will not tolerate your insults! Heenan: What are YOU going to do? Russkie, you ain't worth my time. Since it looks like your tag team is kaput, maybe I can hire you to work for me. That hat makes you look like a limo driver! Maybe you can drive my HCW Tag Team Champions to the arena. You'll probably learn a thing or two about tag team wrestling in the process! What do you say, Comrade? Iron Sheik: Hach-ptooie! You American maggot must not insult this dignified gentleman! Iron Sheik swings a forearm across the announcer's table. He catches a glancing blow to Heenan's head, sending him sprawling onto the arena floor. Sheik and Breznikov begin putting the boots to Heenan until BIG DADDY ELMER emerges from the locker room! Elmer scowls and strides boldly to ringside, causing Sheik and Breznikov to scurry for the exit. But before Elmer can come to the aid of his fallen manager, he is attacked by a figure coming out of the crowd! HILLBILLY JIM clobbers Elmer from the blind side and knocks him to the floor. Jim: You dadburned polecat! You know how long I been waiting to get my hands on you? Elmer staggers to his feet. Jim lunges at him, and the two engage in a fierce brawl. Heenan makes it to his feet and charges into the fray as officials stream out of the locker room. Elmer and Jim are pulled apart, still shouting and lunging at each other.JR: Hold it! Hold it right there! Security- don't take these guys anywhere! You two want to fight? You'll do it TONIGHT- right here in Kent, Ohio! Fans, you are in for a special treat tonight- a no-disqualification, main event grudge match! The fans cheer as Hillbilly Jim glares at Elmer. Elmer spits into his hands and rubs them together, ready to scuffle again. But cooler heads prevail as the two hillbillies are escorted back to the dressing area.JR: Wow! Hillbilly Jim has returned- and there is no question what's on his agenda. Thank heavens that security was able to quell that situation before things really got out of control. And yet to come tonight- the big scuffle between Jim and Elmer! But before we get to that monumental confrontation, let's head back to the ring for another match. HARLEY RACE vs. MASKED SUPERSTAR (w/ SLICK)Slick paid dividends in a big way tonight! Race was firmly in control and executed a devastating piledriver on Superstar. But Slick jumped onto the apron and distracted Charles Robinson, allowing Superstar to stun Race with a low blow! Harley never recovered, and Superstar capitalized to ride the momentum to victory. WINNER: MASKED SUPERSTAR(Superstar pinned Race after a Spinning Neckbreaker)JR: No question, this has not been one of Charles Robinson's better nights. Slick played him like a cheap fiddle in that contest. But in the end, it is the Masked Superstar who goes to the pay window. Fans, I have just been informed of a situation taking place backstage! Let's get a camera back there and see if WILDMAN BUTCH MICHAELS can give us a report! The camera appears backstage, where BOBO BRAZIL is fighting off an attack in the locker room. NIKITA BREZNIKOV is diracting traffic as THE IRON SHEIK and two accomplices are putting the boots to Brazil.Wildman: JR, Bobo Brazil is under attack! I don't know where they came from, but THE VACHON BROTHERS are assisting Iron Sheik and Nikita Breznikov! MASKED SUPERSTAR rushes to the scene and begins shoving Vachons left and right. Sheik and Breznikov scatter and Brazil gets to his feet. He appears to be okay as Superstar escorts him to the ring. Breznikov marches to Butch Michaels and shouts into the camera.Breznikov: Heartland, you are fools! There will be no retreat for the Foreign Legion! We eliminate the weak and we consolidate the strong. Destruction to the evil Americans! Butch looks into the camera and signals to cut off the transmission. After a moment, the scene returns to the ring.JR: What a deranged lunatic! Bobo Brazil was lucky to get out of there alive. But Bobo- and the entire Old School roster- now has the Vachon Brothers to deal with! Let's see how Bobo will fare in this qualifying match for the Great Lakes Championship. GREAT LAKES CHAMPIONSHIP: QUALIFYING MATCH NICK BOCKWINKLE vs. BOBO BRAZIL (w/ SLICK)Brazil appeared a step slow after the locker room attack, but still gave Bockwinkel a stiff test. The bout was rugged, with action spilling outside the ring on several occasions and neither man taking a step back. In the end, Bockwinkel was the better man on this occasion, managing to put aside Bobo and move ahead for a Great Lakes title match. WINNER: NICK BOCKWINKEL(Bockwinkel forced Brazil to submit to the Bockwinkel Sleeper)JR: That has got to be a disappointment to Brazil. To come this far, and be the victim of a deranged attack by the likes of Iron Sheik and Nikita Breznikov, is a crying shame. This Foreign Legion has picked a dangerous man to antagonize indeed. But now, fans, an unexpected surprise is in store for you as we have a special Main Event! MAIN EVENT: NO-DISQUALIFICATION GRUDGE MATCH HILLBILLY JIM vs. "BIG DADDY" ELMER (w/ BOBBY "THE BRAIN" HEENAN)The angry hillbillies threw down in a brawl of epic proportions! Elmer pounded away at Jim with haymakers, but Jim fired back with lefts and rights. Elmer hurled Jim out of the ring and slammed his face into the steel ring steps! Jim was staggered, but managed to pounce on Elmer in the ring and nail him with a falling elbow drop. Elmer went for the Hillbilly Splash, nearly crushing Jim, but Jim managed to kick out! Jim caught Elmer at the turnbuckle with a stunning boot to the face! Elmer went down, and Jim came off the turnbuckle with a powerful elbow drop. Elmer was in trouble, so Heenan charged into the ring- but Jim caught him coming and clotheslined him over the top rope! As Elmer staggered to his feet, Jim clamped on a massive Bear Hug. It didn't take long before the weary Uncle was incapacitated. Charles Robinson dropped the arm three times and called for the bell as the fans went berserk! WINNER: HILLBILLY JIM(Jim forced Elmer to submit to a Bear Hug)JR: What a return for Hillbilly Jim! I am confident that wasn't the first scuffle that these two have had, but the animosity tonight was indeed palpable. Jim got the best of his uncle on this occasion, but I am sure Big Daddy will not rest until recompense is served. Fans, we do thank you for joining us tonight! Don't forget about the HCW Tag Team Championship match on Warfare thie Wednesday night, New Year's Eve! And of course, ladies and gentlemen, Old School will be back with you this coming Saturday night at 6:05 pm. Be sure to tune in next week, when we will crown the first-ever Old School Tag Team Champions! Until then, fans, so long from the Buckeye State! Heartland Championship Wrestling Wednesday Night Warfare December 31, 2008 (Card #185) Rotary Lions Community Center, Napoleon, Ohio The show opens with Warfare GM DAYTONDAVE in the ring in the small local community center. He is decked out in an Elie Tahari blazer as he addresses the festive holiday crowd.Daytondave: Hey, fans, HCW Warfare continues its tour of small-town USA with a special New Year's Eve edition of Wednesday Night Warfare! It's a big night for Warfare, fans, as tonight we will see the HCW Tag Team Champions LARRY ZBYSZKO & OX BAKER in action. BOBBY "THE BRAIN" HEENAN brings his men to town to defend the tag titles in our main event against PEPPER GOMEZ & TOM PRICHARD. We also have a loaded undercard for you, so let's get it started! (Tonight's referee: Joe Kopasz)As Joe Kopasz prepares the ring, LARRY SWEENEY struts to the top of the ramp with a microphone.Sweeney: Listen up, you losers! This is Larry Sweeney, Super Agent representing Sweet and Sour, Incorporated! I am here tonight to introduce my newest acquisition. Larry Sweeney is the man with the plan, and the Corporation needs a man to maintain law and order. So I have recruited one of the legendary enforcers in the wrestling business to protect my assets. Here he is, fans, COWBOY BOB ORTON!JUSHIN "THUNDER" LIGER vs. COWBOY BOB ORTONBefore Daytondave had even completed his introductions, Orton jumped Liger and plastered him with a vicious elbow to the throat! Liger was slow to recover, and Orton crushed him with an Atomic Kneedrop to score the pin in under one minute! WINNER: COWBOY BOB ORTON(Orton pinned Liger after an Atomic Kneedrop)Daytondave: Bob Orton is one crafty son-of-a-gun! He's the perfect enforcer for Larry Sweeney and his crew. Not the most honest guy in the world, but that has never been a requirement for employment with Sweeney. Now let's see how Sweeney's tag team performs. THE KINGS OF WRESTLING (CHRIS HERO & CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI w/ LARRY SWEENEY) vs. THE NAPTOWN DRAGONS (SCOTTY VORTEKZ & "DIEHARD" DUSTIN LEE)This match was insane! Lee put the hurt on Hero from the opening bell, thrilling the fans with his "Die Hard Trilogy" of suplexes. Only a timely save by Claudio prevented Hero from being pinned. Once Claudio hit the ring, he dominated Scotty Vortekz, forcing Lee to make the save after a thunderous Ricola Bomb. At this point, tempers flared and the match broke down. A brawl erupted on the ring floor, where it was Lee again getting the best of Hero as Scotty chased Larry Sweeney up the ring ramp. With Hero staggered, the Dragons crushed him with a Double Dragon and captured the pinfall! WINNERS: THE NAPTOWN DRAGONS(Lee pinned Hero after the Double Dragon)Daytondave: Outstanding performance by the boys from Naptown! I figured the Kings would control that match, but the Dragons managed to neutralize Sweeney and come away victorious. Now, we'll see two of the Beasts of the Heartland square off. DAN "THE BEAST" SEVERN vs. NECRO BUTCHERThe two beasts brawled furiously, but the technique of Severn proved to be superior. Severn tied Necro in knots repeatedly and ultimately gained a submission. WINNER: DAN SEVERN(Severn forced Necro to submit to a Wakigatame)Daytondave: Same size, same toughness, but about 50 points difference in IQ decided that bout. THE HEADSHRINKERS (SAMU & ALOFA) vs. THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS (KIP & BG JAMES w/OLIVER HUMPERDINK)In a highly competitive match, the Outlaws narrowly edged the Headshrinkers. BG James sustained a tremendous amount of punishment, but kept his intensity and came back to devastate Alofa and turn the tide of the match. After a pair of Spike Piledrivers, Alofa was unable to respond and fell prey to the pinfall. WINNERS: THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS(Kip pinned Alofa with the Fame-Asser)Daytondave: The Outlaws continue to be one of the top teams in the Heartland! That's about as well as I have ever seen a man wrestle after a shellacking like BG James took in that match. I think the addition of Oliver Humperdink will be very helpful as the Outlaws try to claw their way back to the top of the tag team division. How does Humperdink stack up to Larry Sweeney? We'll find that out in our next match. ADAM PEARCE (w/ LARRY SWEENEY) vs. KONNAN (w/ OLIVER HUMPERDINK)Konnan was the dominant force in this match, controlling the action against Pearce despite Sweeney's best efforts. WINNER: KONNAN(Konnan pinned Pearce after a Sit-Out Face Buster)Daytondave: The Mexican legend made that bout look all too easy. The House of Humperdink has enjoyed a highly successful evening! Before our next match, let's go backstage where WILDMAN BUTCH MICHAELS has a few words from the former Warfare Combat Champion. Butch: Thank you, Daytondave. I am here with THE MISSING LINK, who just two weeks ago lost the Combat title to TITO SANTANA. Neither man has returned to action following the injuries suffered in that match. Mr. Link, sir- how are you feeling? Link: Link want belt! Butch: I see. You're interested in getting the title back from Santana. But just last week, Daytondave read a note from Tito's doctor! Tito has not been cleared to wrestle again. Link: Link want Tito! Butch: Mr. Link, sir, please understand. Tito is not here. Missing Link shoves Butch aside and snarls as he tears through the locker room area.Link: Link want Tito! Link want belt! Link be champion! Link turns over tables and tosses aside chairs as he storms from room to room backstage. He finds Heartland Referee HEATHER OWENS in a back hallway. He reaches down and picks up Heather, who squeals. Link tosses Heather over his shoulder and carries her down the hallway. He kicks open the back exit, carrying Heather as he disappears into the night.Daytondave: Fans- do you believe that? Missing Link has just kidnapped Heather Owens! What the- !?!?!? Of course you know, the Combat title is defended under 24/7 rules. So wherever Santana is hiding out, he had better beware, because Link is coming for him- and he's bringing his own referee! I do see the logic in his actions- but the man is a maniac and I fear for the safety of young Heather. Heartland Security has already put in a call to the Henry County Sherriff's department, but you just never know what you're going to get with the local yokels. We'll keep a close eye on the situation with Missing Link and Heather Owens, ladies and gentlemen. HCW WARFARE AMERICAN HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP- QUALIFYING MATCH SABU vs. MIL MASCARASA spectacular match! Both competitors took to the air early and often. Sabu unleashed a flurry of suicidal dives to put Mascaras in trouble, but missed a triple jump moonsault to shift the momentum. Mascaras took advantage with his own aerial assault, leaving both men battered and broken. Mascaras missed on a suicide dive, and Sabu latched on an agonizing Camel Clutch! But Mascaras refused to submit, clawing his way to the bottom rope to force Joe Kopasz to call for the break. Sabu responded in frustration, grabbing a steel chair and smashing Mascaras with an Arabian Facebuster. Mascaras was nearly unconscious on the mat after the move, but Kopasz called for the disqualification and awarded the decision to Mil. (Total fatigue tokens: Mascaras 9, Sabu 6) An angry Sabu picked up the chair and threatened to hit the fallen Mascaras again, but Kopasz quickly interposed himself and prevented any further damage. WINNER: MIL MASCARAS(Sabu disqualified after an Arabian Facebuster)Daytondave: Unbelievable! Those two flyers brought the house down! If only Sabu had managed to control his emotions, he could be on his way to a shot at the American Heavyweight Championship! Instead, it will be Mascaras vs. DANNY HODGE for the most prestigious championship that Warfare has to offer. Kudos as well to Joe Kopasz- he handled that situation with the level of professionalism that makes him the best in the business! Now, fans- the moment you have been waiting for! For the first, and probably only time in the history of Napoleon, Ohio, the HCW Tag Team Championship will be defended, and that match is coming up right now. MAIN EVENT: HCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP OX BAKER & LARRY ZBYSZKO (c) (w/ BOBBY "THE BRAIN" HEENAN) vs. PEPPER GOMEZ & TOM PRICHARDThe match looked to be a squash at the outset, when Baker crushed Gomez with a Heart Punch. But Gomez survived the trauma and fought on. Prichard and Gomez seemed to gain momentum as the match progressed. Tagging frequently, the challengers kept Heenan's men on the defensive, and nearly stole the belts when Gomez surprised Baker with a Mexican Cradle for a near-fall. But Bobby Heenan managed to waylay referee Kopasz long enough to allow Baker to break free of the hold and the match continued. Prichard and Zbyszko went toe-to-toe for several minutes of spirited action. Finally, Prichard tagged to Gomez, but the savvy Zbyszko caught him coming off the ropes and rolled him into a small package for a surprise pinfall! WINNERS: OX BAKER & LARRY ZBYSZKO(Zbyszko pinned Gomez with a Small Package)BAKER & ZBYSZKO RETAIN THE HCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPDaytondave: That was a tougher match than the champions expected, but the team of Baker and Zbyszko continues to dominate the tag ranks in the Heartland. We may have seen the emergence of a more functioning team with Gomez and Prichard, but my guess is that Prichard is only a temporary replacement until Tito Santana makes his return to tag team action. So, fans, thanks for joining us tonight on Warfare! We're still keeping a close eye on the Heather Owens situation. No word from the Sherriff yet- we hope to have an update for you when we return on Saturday night with our next episode of Old School! JR James will be at the helm with a great card- and Old School will be crowning its first-ever tag team champions! Be sure and tune in as THE VALIANT BROTHERS take on BOB & BRAD ARMSTRONG for the Old School Tag Team Championship! And of course, we'll be back next Wednesday with more exciting action on Warfare. Until then, fans, that's our show, and I AM OUTTA HERE! Warfare American Champion: Warfare Tag Team Champions: Warfare Combat Champion: TITO SANTANA

Great read Dave, but I didn't make it to Napoleon for this show! Love the team of Baker and Zbyszko, Sabu getting DQed, and the upset of Naptown Dragons over the Kings of Wrestling. The Missing Link holding a title? Say it ain't so Dave, say it ain't so. Thank God for Tito, he was always my favorite Jackson anyway, that flying jalapeno is deadly!

Heartland Championship Wrestling Old School Saturday Night January 3, 2009 (Card #186) Sky Bank Arena, Findlay, Ohio The show opens with JR JAMES in the ring before a Standing-Room-Only crowd.JR: Good evening, fans of the Heartland, and welcome to Old School Saturday Night! On behalf of everyone associated with Heartland Championship Wrestling, it is my pleasure to wish you all a Happy New Year! 2008 certainly had its ups and downs, but the proud HCW is roaring in to 2009 with style! We have some very special events planned for tonight broadcast of Old School, including the crowning of the first-ever Old School Tag Team Champions! But first, ladies and gentlemen, we have a very special presentation. JR is joined in the ring by HCW Commissioner COUSIN LUKE, and Warfare GM DAYTONDAVE.Luke: How y'all doin'? Me and Daytondave are joinin' you tonight to give out the Year End Awards for 2008! Daytondave, please read for us this year's award winners! Daytondave: It would be my pleasure, Mr. Commissioner! Please put your hands together for the 2008 Award Winners! MANAGER OF THE YEAR: BOBBY "THE BRAIN" HEENAN
FEUD OF THE YEAR: HEARTLAND VS. TRADITION
MATCH OF THE YEAR: STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN VS. NATURE BOY RIC FLAIR, FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE, HEARTLAND HAVOC XVI
TAG TEAM OF THE YEAR: THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS
WRESTLER OF THE YEAR: BRUISER BRODYThe fans applaud loudly for the 2008 award winners. Heenan, Brody and the Outlaws come to the ring and receive plaques from JR James. The spotlight shines to the crowd, where RIC FLAIR is seated with ANGELINA LOVE and VELVET SKY. Flair struts to the ring and holds his plaque overhead. A commotion is heard from the opposite side of the arena, and Tradition Promoter ROB BENNETT pushes his way past Heartland Security and climbs into the ring. Bruiser Brody steps forward to confront Bennett, but DAYTONDAVE calls Brody off and greets Bennett with a handshake and a smile. Bennett and Daytondave enjoy a brief "dude hug" and Daytondave hands Rob the award plaque. The cheering of the crowd turns to boos as Bennett holds the plaque high. Bennett smirks as he struts back to his seat, where SO CAL VAL awaits. As the remaining award winners clear the ring, JR James takes the microphone.JR: Congratulations to this year's award winners. I never thought I would see Rob Bennett back in a Heartland Arena, let alone see him embraced by our own Daytondave. They say you can judge a man by the company he keeps. If that is the case, my respect for Daytondave has just dropped a notch. Now, let's head to the ring for tonight's opening contest! (Tonight's referee: Nick Patrick)JIM LONDOS vs. ANTONIO INOKIIn a well-fought match on both sides, Inoki outdueled Londos to gain the submission. WINNER: ANTONIO INOKI(Inoki forced Londos to submit to the Octopus Hold)JR: A supreme demonstration indeed of the game of human chess within the squared circle. THE KILLER BEES (B. BRIAN BLAIR & "JUMPIN" JIM BRUNZELL) vs. CURT & LARRY HENNIGThe Hennigs executed beautifully, trapping Brunzell in the ring and overpowering him. Blair tried to intervene, but Curt caught him and smashed the Bees together with a vicious double noggin-knocker! Blair tumbled out of the ring, allowing Larry Hennig to finish off a weakened Brunzell for the victory. WINNERS: THE HENNIGS(Larry forced Brunzell to submit to a Bearhug)JR: A well-coordinted effort by the father and son duo, who continues to move up in the tag team ranks. I don't know that we'll see much coordination or execution in this next bout, but I anticipate that it will be an exciting one indeed. DON LEO JONATHAN vs. THE CRUSHERThe battle between these two monsters lived up to expectations. The action was hard-hitting and the momentum shifted back and forth. As the match wore on, both men took uncharacteristic risks, and it proved costly to Jonathan. The big Mormon went for a deathjump, but Crusher sidestepped and sent Jonathan crashing to the canvas. Don Leo was easy prey from that point, and Crusher was quick to seal the victory. WINNER: THE CRUSHER(Crusher forced Jonathan to submit to a stomach claw)JR: No question, the "man who made Milwaukee famous" takes a step back from no one. He took Jonathan's best shots, and gave as good as he got. A fine victory for the Crusher! JIMMY "SUPERFLY" SNUKA vs. "MAGNIFICENT" DON MURACOIn a reprise of one of the great feuds in WWF history, Muraco came out strong and had Snuka on the defensive. But Jimmy exploded off the ropes with a running spear, planting Muraco on the canvas and setting him up for a patented Superfly Leap! WINNER: JIMMY "SUPERFLY" SNUKA(Snuka pinned Muraco after a Superfly Leap)JR: A magnificent manuver indeed by one of the most popular and talented grapplers there is! Let's look now at another compelling tag team confrontation. THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (STAN LANE & BOBBY EATON w/ JIM CORNETTE) vs. BRUTUS "THE GEEK" BEEFCAKE & GREG "THE HAMMER" VALENTINEA wild match between two well-matched teams! The action was competitive and both teams were devious, bending the rules and taking liberties as referee Nick Patrick struggled to maintain control. Patrick was clearly fighting a losing battle, and before long, found himself on the receiving end of an inadvertent spear from Beefcake. Patrick went down, and both teams began double-teaming repeatedly. Finally, CHARLES ROBINSON sprinted to the ring and took over the officiating duties. The pace settled down, as Beefcake and Eaton duked it out. Beefcake got the upper hand, gaining control and wearing out Eaton with his roughhousing tactics. Beefcake tagged to Valentine, but The Hammer was smacked across the back by Cornette with his tennis racket! Before Beefcake could react, Eaton covered Valentine and captured the pinfall! WINNERS: THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS(Eaton pinned Valentine after Cornette Interference)JR: Disgusting. Why James E. Cornette can't keep his mangy mitts out of a match is beyond me. His men are plenty talented to fend for themselves. But on this night, it is clear that the interference of Cornette paid off and his men steal a victory. The good news is, Nick Patrick appears to be okay, and he is back on his feet and ready to officiate our next contest- and it will be a big contest indeed. These men despise each other- and both are in line for a shot at becoming the first-ever Great Lakes Champion! GREAT LAKES CHAMPIONSHIP: QUALIFYING MATCH KING KONG BUNDY (w/ JIM CORNETTE) vs. "HACKSAW" JIM DUGGANNot surprisingly, action in this bout broke down nearly from the outset! When Cornette tried to get his hands on Duggan, Hacksaw swung wildly at him. Bundy came to the defense of his manager, launching himself at Duggan along the ropes. Duggan ducked for cover, and once again Nick Patrick found himself in harm's way. Bundy crushed Patrick, sending him through the ropes and out to the arena floor in a heap. Neither competitor took pause, and the brawl spilled out to the arena floor as well. CHARLES ROBINSON again dashed to the ring, and this time he immediately called for the bell and threw the match out. ***DOUBLE DISQUALIFICATION***After the decision, Bundy and Duggan continued to brawl! As Heartland officials streamed in to restore order, NICK BOCKWINKEL strutted down to ringside and took the microphone.Bockwinkel: Thank you! Thank you very much! I would just like to congratulate... myself... for becoming the first-ever Heartland Great Lakes Champion! Jim Cornette hustles over to the announcers' table and grabs the microphone from Bockwinkel.Cornette: Bockwinkel! Have you taken leave of your senses? You don't just walk out here and declare yourself the Great Lakes Champion! Hacksaw Duggan pushes his way over to Bockwinkel and takes a poke at him. Bundy shoves Duggan again, and the brawl escalates between all three wrestlers. Finally, COMMISSIONER LUKE makes his way to ringside and grabs the microphone.Luke: All y'all knock it off! Now hush! Bockwinkel, you ain't gonna come down here and make yourself no champion! We're gonna settle this next week- in the ring! All y'all be here- we gonna have us a Triple Threat Match!JR: Oh, my goodness! Ladies and gentlemen! Commissioner Luke has just issued a forceful ruling to put an end to this fracas! One week from tonight- we will have a triple threat match- Bockwinkel vs. Bundy vs. Duggan - for the Great Lakes Championship! You talk about three volatile personalities! What a matchup that will be! But fans, we are not finished yet- we still have the Old School Tag Team Championship to be decided! It does appear that Charles Robinson will be officiating this match. We seem to have order restored, so let's head back to the ring for tonight's Main Event! MAIN EVENT: OLD SCHOOL TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP THE VALIANT BROTHERS (JIMMY & JOHNNY) vs. BOB & BRAD ARMSTRONGIn a surprising finish, Brad Armstrong snatched victory from the jaws of defeat to earn his team the Old School Tag Team Championship! The match was tightly contested, until Brad went for a flying tackle on Jimmy Valiant, missed his target, and nailed his father Bob! Bob went down hard, and the Valiants took control. Bob fought back gamely, but the Valiants pummeled him and wore him down. It looked like Bob was finished when Johnny Valiant blasted him with a Top Rope Elbow, but Brad returned to make the save! When the Valiants tried to gang up on Brad, he ducked under their attempted double clothesline, then sprang from the rope and drilled both Valiant brothers with a stunning double lariat! Jimmy Valiant sailed out of the ring, and as Johnny staggered to his feet, Brad nailed him with another flying dropkick and scored a clean pinfall victory! WINNERS: BOB & BRAD ARMSTRONG(Brad pinned Johnny Valiant after a Flying Dropkick)BOB AND BRAD ARMSTRONG CAPTURE THE OLD SCHOOL TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPJR: Congratulations to the Armstrong Family for becoming the first-ever Old School tag team champions! That was a very competitive match-up and there is no question that either team may have come away victorious. But on this night, Brad Armstrong proved to be the victorious competitor- As JR continues his remarks, THE VACHON BROTHERS and IRON SHEIK storm the ring and attack the Armstrongs! The new champions are taken by surprise and both are knocked to the floor. NIKITA BREZNIKOV takes the microphone. Breznikov: Destruction to the evil Americans! The Foreign Legion must eliminate the weak! Iron Sheik and Brad Armstrong duke it out on the arena floor. The Vachon Brothers go to work on Bob Armstrong. Mad Dog gives Bob a stiff kick to the head, knocking him senseless on the concrete. Butcher Vachon picks up the steel ring steps and drops them onto Bob's right leg! Bob screams in pain. Heartland security, led by BIG JIM THE ENFORCER, hustles to ringside to take control of the situation, but Bob Armstrong remains on the arena floor, holding his right leg and grimacing. The members of the Foreign Legion are escorted from ringside.Breznikov: Destruction to the evil Americans! Heartland trainers arrive at ringside to tend to the fallen Armstrong patriarch, but Bob waves them away. Brad Armstrong helps his father to his feet, and Bob hobbles away from ringside with the assistance of his son.JR: Ladies and gentlemen, I am appalled at what we have just seen! Bob and Brad Armstrong are your Old School tag team champions. But the Foreign Legion has once again made their presence known, much to the chagrin of the fans here at the Sky Bank Arena. We'll try to have an update for you on Bob Armstrong when we return next week. Fans, it has been our privilege to bring you tonight's edition of Old School Saturday Night! We'll be back next week with an exciting card of action, including the Triple Threat match to determine the Great Lakes Championship! And don't forget to tune in Wednesday night for HCW Warfare. You won't want to miss the crowning of the Warfare American Champion, as DANNY HODGE will square off against MIL MASCARAS in Wednesday night's main event. Until then, fans, so long from the Buckeye State! Old School United States Champion: RAY "THE CRIPPLER" STEVENS Old School Tag Team Champions: BOB AND BRAD ARMSTRONG Old School Great Lakes Champion:

Heartland Championship Wrestling Wednesday Night Warfare January 7, 2009 (Card #187) Paulding High School Gymnasium, Paulding, Ohio The show opens with Warfare GM DAYTONDAVE in the center of the ring to address the crowd. He is decked out in a dashing Brooks Brothers double-breasted black suit with an aqua silk tie.Daytondave: Happy New Year! Fans, this is the best-dressed Commissioner in the land comin' back at ya for another YEAR of Heartland Championship Wrestling action! Obviously, COMMISSIONER LUKE has decided to continue the Warfare Tour of Nowhere Land USA, despite the obvious occupational hazards. I mean, how much of a disaster would it be to come home with cow dung stains on a fifteen hundred dollar suit? I guess that's just the chance you have to take as a celebrity these days. Now, fans, we have a big night planned for you tonight! This is the night when we crown the first-ever Warfare American Heavyweight Champion. The top title in the Heartland will be decided tonight, right here in the lovely community of Paulding, Ohio. It will be MIL MASCARAS, the former Ohio-Con Champion, taking on the self proclaimed "best cruiserweight in the business", DANNY HODGE in tonight's main event championship match! We will also have a road report from WILDMAN BUTCH MICHAELS as he has been searching for MISSING LINK and Heartland Referee HEATHER OWENS. As you recall, last week Link declared his intentions to seek out Warfare Combat Champion TITO SANTANA, who has gone into hiding to recuperate from his injuries and avoid defending his title under the 24/7 rules. Link grabbed up Heather and took off in pursuit of Santana, and tonight we hope that our man the Wildman will catch up to Link and Heather. But for now, fans, let's get it started! (Tonight's referee: Joe Kopasz)ADAM PEARCE (w/ LARRY SWEENEY) vs. TIGER MASKThis match was highly entertaining for a curtain-jerker. Tiger Mask took the early advantage, but could not put Pearce down for the count. Pearce turned the tide, hitting Tiger with a stiff knee to the face as he charged the turnbuckle. Pearce followed with a jumping piledriver, but Tiger Mask kicked out. Tiger Mask took control again after Pearce whiffed on a dropkick. Despite Larry Sweeney's efforts to sidetrack the referee, Tiger Mask kept control of the bout and finished Pearce with a pait of Tiger Suplexes. WINNER: TIGER MASK(Tiger Mask pinned Pearce after a Tiger Suplex)Daytondave: Fans, you have just witnessed some sensational aerial action. You'll never see anything like the Space Flying Tiger Drop that Tiger Mask executed in the opening moments of that contest. Where does Tiger Mask belong on the cruiserweight pecking order? We'll find out two weeks from now at Heartland Havoc XXIII, which will feature a one-night tournament of the top cruisers in all of HCW! JUSHIN "THUNDER" LIGER vs. GORGEOUS GEORGE (w/ CHERIE DUPRE)Another epic battle played out in this match! George began the match at a slow pace, stalling frequently and attempting to keep Liger under control. George repeatedly went to the Figure-4 leglock and the spinning toe hold in an effort to slow down his agile foe. The strategy was largely successful and Liger was on the defensive until he surprised George by coming off the ropes with a devastating shoda which turned the momentum. Liger followed with an impressive aerial flurry, piecing together a Liger Dive and a top rope hurricanrana to send George tumbling to the arena floor. But Liger wasn't finished, launching himself onto George with a spectacular plancha to the arena floor! Liger followed with an amazing springboard moonsault, and George was lucky to make it back to the ring by the count of ten. But the delay seemed to give George a chance to regain his footing, allowing him to duck away from a cross-body block and pin Liger with a small package! (Total fatigue tokens: George 6, Liger 5)WINNER: GORGEOUS GEORGE(George pinned Liger with a Small Package)Daytondave: Another amazing bout between two very different athletes. Hell, George is "different" all by himself. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the replay of that bout will show that the Gorgeous One used a handful of tights to secure that victory. And now, fans, I have just received word that WILDMAN BUTCH MICHAELS has caught up to THE MISSING LINK! Wildman, give us a full report! The camera shifts to the exterior of the NAPOLEON MOTOR INN back in Napoleon, Ohio. Wildman Butch Michaels is on camera, but appears speechless with his eyes wide open and his jaw gaping. The door to Room 113 is ajar as MISSING LINK stands in the doorway. Link's face paint is smeared, and he is speechless with his eyes wide open and his jaw gaping. The silhouetted figure of HEATHER OWENS is seen on the bed. Heather is sitting up in bed, covered only by a bed sheet. She is smiling widely and smoking a cigarette. The scene quickly shifts back to the Paulding High School gymnasium, where Daytondave is sitting at the announcer's table. Daytondave appears speechless with his eyes wide open and his jaw gaping.Daytondave: Fans... I am stunned. The State of Ohio is supposed to be smoke-free! Um... let's watch some more action... I mean, let's return to the ring for our next wrestling match. THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS (KIP & BG JAMES w/ SIR OLIVER HUMPERDINK) vs. BLOODLUST (JUSTIN CREDIBLE & DRAKE YOUNGER w/ JONNY FAIRPLAY)The newly anointed Tag Team of the Year looked sharp under the new management of Sir Humperdink. Despite BG taking a couple of tough shots, he managed to tag back in to Kip. Kip floored both members of Bloodlust with a double clothesline, then crushed Younger to seal another victory for the Outlaws. WINNERS: THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS(Kip pinned Younger after a Standing Leg Drop)Daytondave: That was a very deserving win for the Outlaws! With that victory, BG and Kip become the first tag team in the history of Heartland Wrestling to record 20 victories! Congratulations to the James Boys for another notch in their historic run through the Heartland. But I don't think the rivalry between Oliver Humperdink and Jonny Fairplay is quite finished. These two managers have another matchup of their respective competitors coming up next. KONNAN (w/ SIR OLIVER HUMPERDINK) vs. THE SANDMAN (w/ JONNY FAIRPLAY)Humperdink made it 2-for-2 in this match as Konnan outpaced the Sandman. Konnan even decked Jonny Fairplay for good measure before finishing off his overmatched opponent. WINNER: KONNAN(Konnan forced The Sandman to submit to a Tequila Sunrise)Daytondave: Jonny Fairplay doesn't look the least bit happy about the performance of his men here tonight! Konnan simply embarassed The Sandman with how easily he dominated that match. As Joe Kopasz prepares the ring for the next match, "RAVISHING" RICK RUDE steps through the curtain, accompanied by TAMMY LYNN SYTCH. Tammy is wearing a short black cocktail dress with a low-cut front, but she does not look at all pleased to be accompanying Rude.Rude: Cut the music! What I'd like to have right now is for all you fat, out-of-shape, bumbling bumpkins to shut your mouths and watch when a real sexy man looks like while Tammy takes off my robe! Rude wiggles his hips and unties his robe, then extends his arms to the sides and waits for Tammy. Instead of removing his robe, Tammy slaps Rude on the back of the head! Rude scowls and turns back to Tammy, threatening her with the back of his hand. Tammy recoils quickly and Rude sneers.Rude: Never mind, sweetheart. All I can say is, that if a guy like THE MISSING LINK can get lucky, then The Ravishing One has every right to expect some action from you tonight. And baby, you won't see me coming out of a cheap Motor Inn. No sir, for Tammy tonight, it will only be the finest that Paulding, Ohio has to offer- the Bittersweet Inn! We'll be heading that way as soon as I kick the butt of whatever girlie-man that Daytondave has lined up for me tonight. "RAVISHING" RICK RUDE (w/ TAMMY LYNN SYTCH) vs. "LIGHTNING" MIKE QUACKENBUSHRude was caught off-guard in the opening moments of this match, as the unorthodox Quackenbush hit him with a Chikara Special and a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker and picked up two quick near-falls. Rude went to the floor, and Quackenbush launched himself of the top rope with a spectaculr somersault plancha! But Rude smartly sidestepped the move and Quack crashed badly on the ring floor. Tammy squealed, and quickly knelt beside the injured Quackenbush. This infuriated Rude, who grabbed Tammy by the hair and shoved her into a chair at ringside. From there, Rude took pleasure in methodically pounding away at Quackenbush, dropping him with a hard swinging neckbreaker on the arena floor. Quackenbush fought back gamely, but Rude tossed him casually back into the ring and finished him off with an arrogant cover. WINNER: "RAVISHING" RICK RUDE(Rude pinned Quackenbush after a Rude Awakening)Daytondave: Unbelievable. I have always admired Rick Rude, in a manly sort of way- but even I cannot condone the way he put his hands on Tammy tonight. If he ain't careful, some day he is gonna mess with the wrong dude. PEPPER GOMEZ & TOM PRICHARD vs. THE KINGS OF WRESTLING (CHRIS HERO & CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI w/ LARRY SWEENEY)In a stunning match, the hard-luck team of Gomez and Prichard surprised the Kings, dropping Claudio with a deadly double-team combination and a quick pinfall! WINNERS: GOMEZ & PRICHARD(Prichard pinned Castagnoli after a Face-First Double Suplex)Daytondave: Finally, a victory for Gomez and Prichard! These guys have already had an HCW Title Match before they even recorded a victory! With Gomez' regular partner TITO SANTANA remaining in hiding, he and Prichard seem to be starting to work together with more success! But Gomez also needs to continue to watch his back, because MIL MASCARAS is still hot on his tail with a vengeance. But tonight, Mascaras has a bigger objective- to become the first-ever American Heavyweight Champion- and that match is coming up next! MAIN EVENT: HCW WARFARE AMERICAN HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MIL MASCARAS vs. DANNY HODGEThe Heavyweight Championship was a dramatic duel between two determined competitors! Hodge wrestled an amazing match, stretching Mascaras in every conceivable direction. Mascaras gutted his way through the onslaught, surviving a series of tortuous holds and fighting his way back into the match. Mascaras took to the skies, sending Hodge reeling with the Crossbody attack and a slingshot plancha onto the arena floor! Mil nearly took the title after a Flying Bodypress, but Hodge kicked out at 2 1/2 and the match continued. The gritty Sooner took control again and continued to punish Mascaras on the mat. After a protracted struggle, Hodge finally forced a submission from Mascaras to lay claim to the title! WINNER: DANNY HODGE(Hodge forced Mascaras to submit to the Indian Deathlock)DANNY HODGE WINS THE AMERICAN HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIPDaytondave: Congratulations to Danny Hodge for becoming the inaugural American Heavyweight Champion! That was a remarkable match- a potential Match of the Year candidate and we're just getting 2009 rolling! Fans, it has been a great night of action here in Northwest Ohio and we thank you for joining us. HCW Warfare will be back next week with another exciting card of action. And don't forget about Old School Saturday Night this coming weekend, where you'll see an amazing triple threat match for the Old School Great Lakes Championship. That's our show, and I AM OUTTA HERE! Warfare American Champion: DANNY HODGE Warfare Tag Team Champions: Warfare Combat Champion: TITO SANTANA

Heartland Championship Wrestling Old School Saturday Night January 10, 2009 (Card #188) Beeghley Center, Youngstown, Ohio JR James: Good evening, fans, and welcome to Old School Saturday Night, brought to you by Heartland Championship Wrestling! Things are abuzz in the Heartland as we are gearing up for Heartland Havoc XXIII, which will take place two weeks from tonight! In a bold move, Commissioner Luke has booked this pay-per-view for the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan. It has been some time since HCW ventured out of the Buckeye State, but the time is now and the Joe Louis Arena is a legendary venue indeed. Luke, congratulations on the big announcement! Luke: Thanks, JJ! I also want to announce the new Havoc XXIII theme song. It's called "Devour" by Shinedown! ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VsZRr1YKt8) JR grimaces as the tune plays overhead.JR: Where did you get that noise? Surely we can do better than this for the theme music. Why not George Jones or Conway Twitty? I bet Daytondave picked that music. He's never been known for taste. Luke chuckles.Luke: Naw, we let Daytondave's kid pick that out. You know, the girlie-haired one? JR rolls his eyes.JR: You must mean Bad Chad- the Kurt Cobain wanna-be. Luke: That's the one. JR: Not surprising. Fans, the new theme song for Havoc XXIII is "Devour" by Shinedown, courtesy of Daytondave's kid, Bad Chad, the girlie-haired Kurt Cobain wanna-be. The good news is, the card for Havoc is shaping up nicely. We'll be hearing more about that throughout the evening. Tonight will feature some great action as well, highlighted by our main event- the Triple Threat match to decide the Great Lakes Championship! This title was at the center of controversy on last week's broadcast, so tonight all three contenders will settle their business in the ring as NICK BOCKWINKEL, HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN, and KING KONG BUNDY face off! Now, let's head to the ring for tonight's opening contest! (Tonight's referee: Charles Robinson)GREG "THE HAMMER" VALENTINE & BRUTUS "THE GEEK" BEEFCAKE vs. TEAM CANADA (ANGELO MOSCA & THE MOUNTIE)After a long and competitive bout, Mountie took control and caught a quick pinfall against the Hammer! WINNERS: TEAM CANADA(Mountie pinned Valentine after a Short Choke Slam)JR: What a fine quality opening match! No question, either team may have come away victorious in that contest. Both of these teams would love to work their way into contention for the Old School Tag Team Championship, which was won just one week ago by the team of BOB and BRAD ARMSTRONG. But after that match, we saw the Armstrongs brutally attacked by the FOREIGN LEGION! We have a special videotaped statement from Brad Armstrong with an update on his father's condition. The Videotron lights up and BRAD ARMSTRONG is seen in a workout facility. In the background, BOB ARMSTRONG is seen at the leg machine, working out his right knee.Brad: What's up, fans! Me and Dad just wanted to thank the great fans of the Heartland for your support! Daddy's gonna be just fine. His knee is a little banged up, but it ain't nothing that we ain't come back from before! The Armstrong Clan is proud to be the Old School Tag Team Champions, and we're ready to put these belts on the line against all comers. And you big ugly Vachon Brothers? Iron Sheik? You want some of the Armstrong Clan, you come get some! STEVE "DR. DEATH" WILLIAMS vs. THE MASKED SUPERSTAR (w/ SLICK)In a brief, but wild match,, Superstar and Doc spent as much time outside the ring as in. The two went toe-to-toe until Superstar finally got the advantage, trapping Williams in a protracted Cobra Hold and finally forcing his submission. WINNER: MASKED SUPERSTAR(Superstar forced Williams to submit to the Cobra Hold)JR: That match typified what Old School wrestling is about. Indeed, neither man asked quarter and neither man gave. But on this night, it was Superstar who came out on top. DICK HUTTON vs. JOHNNY VALENTINEIn another old-style showdown, Hutton and Valentine went to war. Hutton controlled the early stages of the match, but was unable to put Valentine down after a well-executed Oklahoma Sideroll. Valentine rallied, catching Hutton coming off the ropes and dropping him throat-first across the top rope! Hutton went down, and Valentine immediately went to the Atomic Skullcrusher to earn a hard-fought victory. WINNER: JOHNNY VALENTINE(Valentine pinned Hutton after an Atomic Skullcrusher)JR: The action continues to run hot in the Heartland! I cannot recall two more compelling matches than we have just seen back-to-back. And fans, there's more to come! HARLEY RACE vs. JIM LONDOSRace was methodical and brutal in dismantling Londos. The smaller Greek fought gamely, but Harley was just too powerful and took control decisively to finish the bout. WINNER: HARLEY RACE(Race pinned Londos after a Piledriver)JR: The Race piledriver claims another victim! As you may recall, it was that same maneuver that took down KING KONG BUNDY and sparked a major controversy with JIM CORNETTE. Race would love to get his hands on Bundy, and indeed, Jim Cornette, when the opportunity presents itself. As Race leaves the ring area victoriously, he is met at the top of the ramp by the emerging JIM CORNETTE, STAN LANE & BOBBY EATON. Race snarls at Cornette, but Eaton and Lane step between. Race fakes a lunge at Cornette, who scurries back and nearly falls off the stage. Eaton and Lane both flinch. Race smirks and disappears through the curtains. Cornette storms to ringside and grabs the microphone.Cornette: Harley Race? Get over yourself, you ugly pug! You cheated, you lost, and that's that. I didn't come out here to waste my time on you. The reason I am out here tonight is to ask a simple question. Why in the sam hill didn't my Midnight Express win the Tag Team of the Year award? Nobody can beat Bobby and Stan- not the New Age Outlaws, and especially not that big lug Ox Baker and his little megalomaniac buddy Larry Zbyszko. Me and my Midnights are coming after your belts, boys, so shine 'em up and get ready for your whippin'! LARRY & CURT HENNIG vs. THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (BOBBY EATON & STAN LANE w/ JIM CORNETTE)Perhaps the distractions were too much for the Midnights! The match had barely begun when Larry Hennig felled Eaton with a massive Double Forearm Hammer and pinned him cleanly! WINNERS: LARRY & CURT HENNIG(Larry pinned Eaton after a Double Forearm Hammer)JR: Oh, my goodness! The Hennigs just scored a victory over the Midnight Express- in under two minutes! You've got to believe that this win will vault the Hennigs up into contention for the Old School Tag Team Championship. No question, it is a tough loss for the Midnights to kick off 2009. Without warning, BOBBY "THE BRAIN" HEENAN strides to the ring with a smirk.Heenan: Hey Cornette- you call that a tag team? If your Midnight Express wants a title match, then shut your mouth and stop losing matches. One thing we both agree on- those New Age Outlaws are a couple of goofs and they have no business walking around calling themselves Tag Team of the Year. Ox Baker and Larry Zbyszko have dominated the tag team division, and MY men deserve that honor. So Kip- BG- if you ever, and that is a big IF- if you ever get a title shot against my men, then your ass better call somebody! And it better be somebody with a broom and a dustpan, because they'll be sweeping your rotten carcasses off the mat! JR: Strong words indeed from the Manager of the Year. No question, his team has been the top of the heap for quite some time. Love him or hate him, the Brain has every right to boast about his accomplishments. Okay, fans- are you ready for another battle of the legendary Old School giants? Then you're in for a treat! BOBO BRAZIL (w/ SLICK) vs. DON LEO JONATHANThe big brawl did not disappoint, as Bobo and Jonathan pounded each other from pillar to post! The battle got so intense that Charles Robinson was knocked to the arena floor! But the brawl continued, and action picked up even more with no third man to oversee the proceedings. Finally, NICK PATRICK hustled to ringside and corraled the battle back into the ring. Bobo took control, and smashed the bigger Jonathan with a series of headbutts, finally putting him down for the count. WINNER: BOBO BRAZIL(Brazil pinned Jonathan after a Coco Butt)JR: That confrontation was indeed a brutal one. Jonathan is one of the few men who can withstand the power of Bobo Brazil. A lesser man would have been overwhelmed by such an onslaught! And now, fans, finally the Old School will crown its Great Lakes Champion! Out Triple Threat main event match is next! MAIN EVENT: GREAT LAKES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP - TRIPLE THREAT MATCH NICK BOCKWINKEL vs. KING KONG BUNDY (w/ JIM CORNETTE) vs. HACKSAW JIM DUGGANIn a wild triple threat match, Bockwinkel and Bundy took their turns bashing on Duggan. Bundy did some serious damage, but Bockwinkel interrupted several pin attempts, and on a couple of occasions tried to cover Duggan himself. This led to Bockwinkel and Bundy getting in to a fracas! Bundy hurled Bockwinkel out of the ring, but Bockwinkel caught Bundy on the floor with a chair shot! Bockwinkel rolled Bundy back into the ring and wrapped him into a Figure-4 leglock! Duggan was too weakened to interfere, and Bundy could not escape the agonizing hold. Bundy was forced to tap out, and Bockwinkel claimed the victory! WINNER: NICK BOCKWINKEL(Bockwinkel forced Bundy to tap out to the Figure-4 leglock)NICK BOCKWINKEL CAPTURES THE GREAT LAKES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIPJR: A masterful performance indeed by Nick Bockwinkel to earn the Great Lakes Championship! He played both Bundy and Duggan to the hilt and came away victorious. A great way to cap off a tremendous night of action. Ladies and gentlemen, we thank you for joining us here in Youngstown. We'll be back next week with another exciting episode of Old School, where we will see the United States Heavyweight Championship on the line as RAY "THE CRIPPLER" STEVENS defends his title against the former champion, THE DESTROYER. And don't forget to tune in to Warfare on Wednesday night to see what DAYTONDAVE and his wild bunch have in store for you. Until then, fans, so long from the Buckeye State! Old School United States Champion: RAY "THE CRIPPLER" STEVENS Old School Tag Team Champions: BOB AND BRAD ARMSTRONG Old School Great Lakes Champion: NICK BOCKWINKEL
