October 25, 2017 (Card #808)
Burning Hills Amphitheater, Medora, North Dakota

The show opens with the tune, "Awake and Alive" by Skillet playing overhead. DAYTONDAVE & WARLORD make their way through the crowd in the amphitheater, greeting the throng of fans as they head to the ring. To the surprise of the crowd, EDDIE KINGSTON is awaiting in the ring, holding the Filsinger Cup trophy.

Kingston: Daytondave- I got something to say to you, and to all these people. You see this trophy? Yeah, it's the Filsinger Cup, it's mine, and that makes me the baddest man in the Heartland. I earned this cup when I beat your champ- and I am here tonight in the middle of nowhere to call out DELIRIOUS for a title match!

Daytondave: Well now that's a powerful statement, Eddie. I can't argue with that logic and you know I like a wrestler who wants to make things happen. So let's bring the champ out here and get this thing booked!

The fans cheer as DELIRIOUS appears on the stage and heads for the ring. Without warning, Delirious is attacked by BRODIE LEE! Lee nails Delirious with a big boot to the head, and Kingston quickly joins Lee to put the boots to the fallen champion. Kingston picks up the Grand Championship belt from Delirious, and slams the belt onto Delirious' head! The fans sit in stunned silence.

Kingston: Do I have your attention now? I ain't a man who does a lot of negotiating, Daytondave. There are two things in life that I am good at- beating people up, and cashing checks.

Daytondave: Cashing checks? Who put you up to this?

Kingston grins. The fans are shocked, and immediately begin booing with the arrival of TIM DONST & TROY XAVIER. Donst, Xavier, Kingston, and Brodie exchange handshakes as the booing intensifies.

Donst: You didn't listen to my warnings, Daytondave. You think a couple of screenshots are going to scare me away? Not on your life! People, say hello to my new friends- Eddie and Brodie- my Alpha Dogs!

Donst laughs and leads his crew away from ringside.

Warlord: What the...

Daytondave: Fans, I am shocked. Tim Donst has upped the ante here in the Heartland by bringing together these Alpha Dogs- and the CHIKARA Grand Champion is the target. What a shocking way to begin our first venture into the Dakotas! But we are certainly glad to be here in Theodore Roosevelt National Park with a four-pack of Heartland action. Tonight we will see the first-ever Fatal Four-Way match in the history of the Heartland! The winner will receive a shot at the Generic Secondary Championship! We've already seen some unexpected fireworks here tonight, and we're gonna keep the wrestling fires blazing all night long. So relax, grab yourself a cold one, and enjoy the show!



2017 INDEPENDENT TAG TEAM LEAGUE
CATCH POINT (1-7) vs. OI4K (4-4)
Two teams battling for pride in the final round of the tag league. The battle went back and forth for several minutes before Catch Point isolated Jake and wore him down. Dave came to the rescue briefly, but the beating continued until Yehi forced Jake to tap out to the Koji Clutch.


WINNERS: CATCH POINT


Daytondave: Nice job by Williams and Yehi. It was a rough year for those guys, but they managed a couple of wins to finish the season.



SHAZZA MCKENZIE pinned MADISON EAGLES*****
In a surprisingly one-sided match, Shazza came out on the attack and took control of Madison with suplexes and a nasty pump handle gut buster. Madison battled back, levelling Shazza with a running big boot which sent Shazza tumbling out of the ring. Madison pursued Shazza to the amphitheater floor, but Shazza dodged another big boot attempt and Madison crashed awkwardly with her right leg draped over the steel security railing. Shazza took advantage, taking a running start and ramming both knees into the back of Madison! Madison slumped to the floor, and barely made it back to the ring ahead of the ten-count. Shazza immediately shoved Madison to the turnbuckle and rolled up Madison for the pin!


Daytondave: What a performance by Shazza! She took down a much larger opponent in a battle of Aussie ladies. Well done!

Warlord: Dilly, dilly!

Daytondave: Dilly, dilly! And next up- two of our top eight contenders will do battle!



TJ PERKINS***** defeated GREG EXCELLENT** by submission
It was an uphill battle from the start for TJ, as Excellent took the battle to the amphitheater floor frequently. Perkins was unable to brawl with Excellent, and TJ took a ton of punishment. Excellent beat down Perkins and drilled him with the Tiger Driver, but TJ miraculously managed to kick out! On the verge of desperation, Perkins caught Excellent off guard and nailed Excellent with a Detonation Kick! Excellent fell to the canvas, and TJ quickly locked on the Headscissors Crucifix. Excellent was trapped in the center of the ring, and despite his best efforts, he was unable to escape and was forced to give it up!


Warlord: Oh, no! My man tapped out!

Daytondave: No chicken and waffles for Excellent tonight.

Warlord: Wrong, my man- a loss means a double order of chicken and waffles!

Daytondave: I stand corrected. But let's not overlook the fact that TJ Perkins just made a clutch move tonight to pick up a very important win in his CHIKARA career. All right, fans- it's now time for tonight's Fatal Four-Way. We have never seen a match like this in the Heartland- this ought to be great!



FATAL FOUR-WAY
ACH vs. JIMMY RAVE vs. MATT CROSS vs. RODERICK STRONG

The opening sequence was lightning quick as ACH took on Rave. ACH delivered a flurry of electrifying moves, only to crash into the turnbuckle. Rave rolled up ACH, but when Strong went for the save, Rave speared Strong into the canvas! Rave and Cross delivered a double suplex to Strong, leaving Roderick holding his back and gasping as he rolled away. Strong remained in trouble as his three opponents battled, but ACH broke free and crushed Roderick with a Big Bang Attack! Rave made the save on the pin attempt, and all four men got into a stiff brawl. Strong and Cross took to fighting on the amphitheater floor, and ACH performed a spectacular dive onto both men! But Cross tackled Strong to the ground, causing ACH to miss the attempt and crash hard to the floor.

Daytondave: ACH went for broke in that situation- and it cost him!

ACH was incapacitated, and the three remaining men battled on. Cross seized the opportunity, grabbing both opponents and crashing them together with a Double Noggin Knocker! Strong went down, and Cross pounced with a nasty Double Stomp! Strong was down, but Rave prevented Cross from making the cover and tossed Cross out of the ring. Cross grabbed Rave by the ankles, pulling Rave out of the ring. Cross got the drop on Rave, and executed a crisp Snap Suplex onto the amphitheater floor! Rave smacked down hard, and Cross slid back into the ring to finish off Strong. But Roderick had staggered to his feet, and as Cross got to his feet, Strong nailed Cross with a Sick Kick and covered him for the three count!


WINNER: RODERICK STRONG


Daytondave: Now that was a shocking finish! Congratulations to Roderick Strong for finding a way to win the Fatal Four Way!

Warlord: I thought Strong was done!

Daytondave: We all did- everyone but Roderick himself. Strong took a lot of punishment tonight, but he dug deep and took advantage of the opportunity to steal the victory! Roderick Strong is your winner, and he has earned his opportunity at the Generic Secondary Championship. All right, fans- we're done here. Thanks for checking us out tonight! CHIKARA will be back this Saturday night with a full night of action! The Filsinger Cup-winning threesome of 3.OLE will be challenging for the CHIKARA Trios Championship against the dangerous squad of TIM DONST & WAR MACHINE. That's our show, and I AM OUTTA HERE!

I also liked the big upset win for Shazza McKenzie over Madison Eagles and that killer win for Roderick Strong in the main event. A great card overall and I will conclude this Aftershow with a great track from Led Zeppelin - Whole Lotta Love...

Bismarck Event Center, Bismarck, North Dakota

The show opens with the tune, "Awake and Alive" by Skillet playing overhead. The fans cheer loudly as DAYTONDAVE & WARLORD make their way down the aisle. As the commentators reach the ring, the arena suddenly goes dark. The Dakotatron lights up, showing footage of DELIRIOUS lying unconscious on the floor of the Burning Hills Amphitheater after being ambushed by the ALPHA DOGS. After a moment, the video fades and an image appears on the screen:

The fans fall silent. Slowly, the image fades and the house lights return.

Daytondave: Wow... just... wow. Fans, welcome to our Saturday night edition of CHIKARA. Our tour of the Dakotas is only two shows in, but the ramifications continue to escalate. Usually, we introduce the show by promoting the Main Event- but tonight, I have no idea what lies ahead.

Warlord: Reprisal!

Daytondave: Reprisal, indeed. These mystery messages have been popping up for weeks now and they have been directed at TIM DONST. We don't know who is responsible, but as we saw on Wednesday, Donst and TROY XAVIER have brought in reinforcements and this thing has become a powder keg. Donst is scheduled to wrestle in tonight's Main Event as part of the CHIKARA Trios Championship! Donst and his partners, WAR MACHINE, are defending the championship tonight against 3.OLE.

Warlord: Do you think 3.Ole is responsible for the videos?

Daytondave: I have no idea... but I suspect we are about to find out. We have some terrific matches lined up tonight, folks, and there is no doubt we will all be on the edge of our seats waiting for the appearance of the so-called "Unmanglers". It's the Heartland, and anything can happen- so relax, grab yourself a cold one, and enjoy the show!


CHIKARA CONTRACT MATCH
DONOVAN DIJAK pinned ULTRAMANTIS BLACK**
Ultramantis plotted his strategies to take down the huge Dijak, but all the chops and submission holds had no impact on big Donovan. Ultramantis worked his moves for several minutes until Dijak drilled Ultramantis with a huge boot to the face. Ultramantis was stunned, and Donovan drilled Black into the mat with The Dijection and covered him for the pin.


Warlord: That is one big scary dude. Ultramantis tried everything, and nothing fazed him.

Daytondave: Welcome to CHIKARA, Donovan Dijak! His tag team partner, JIMMY RAVE was unable to strike gold in his CHIKARA run, so we'll see if this behemoth can do better.



JESSIE MCKAY*** (w/JOEBREAKDOWN) pinned COURTNEY RUSH******
Two Heartland Ladies engaged in a titanic struggle! Each lady pieced together a long series of punishing moves, but both were determined to press on as the action continued. Courtney scored with a Northern Lights Suplex for a near-fall, prompting Jessie to roll out of the ring for a breather. Courtney followed Jessie to the floor, where Courtney was confronted by Joebreakdown! Joebreakdown stepped between Courtney and Jessie, but Courtney ducked down, caught Joebreakdown by the leg, and flipped him over her shoulder with a sweet Olympic Slam!

Warlord: Look at that! That may be the single greatest thing I have ever seen!

Jessie shrieked in anger as Joebreakdown hit the floor, and Jessie attacked Courtney with a vengeance. Jessie nailed Courtney with a running clothesline, rolled Courtney back into the ring, and annihilated Courtney with the School Girl Crush! Courtney flopped to the mat, and Jessie immediately made the cover and picked up the three count.

After the match, Jessie immediately rolled out of the ring to check on Joebreakdown. Joebreakdown appeared to be out cold, and Jessie shrieked for help as she knelt beside her beau. Jessie showered Joebreakdown with kisses as the Heartland Trainers rushed to ringside. But before the trainers arrived, Joebreakdown threw his arms around Jessie, rolled her over to the floor, and began kissing her passionately! By the time the trainers arrived, Jessie and Joebreakdown were in full makeout mode.

(Awkward silence)


Daytondave: I think I just threw up a little in the back of my mouth.

Warlord: I think they're gonna need the jaws of life to separate those two!

Daytondave: So that's the end of tonight's ladies' match. As soon as we get things under control at ringside, tonight's show will continue.



2017 INDEPENDENT TAG TEAM LEAGUE
THE THROWBACKS (3-5) vs. HALLOWICKED & FRIGHTMARE (4-4)
It was a crazy tag match, with all four men going all out for the opportunity to win. Hallowicked and Frightmare had their tag team strategy working, isolating Dasher for several minutes and doing plenty of damage. But Dasher finally escaped and tagged in Sugar D, who went crazy on both opponents! Dunkerton obliterated Frightmare with a piledriver, and only quick thinking by Hallowicked to rescue his partner allowed the match to continue. Dasher caught his second wind, and joined Sugar in the ring to waylay Hallowicked with a Grandslam Dunk for the win!


WINNERS: THE THROWBACKS


Daytondave: What an exciting match! That one could have gone either way. A very costly defeat for Frightmare and Hallowicked- they still had an outside chance of catching the BRAVADO BROTHERS in the CHIKARA Division with a win tonight. We'll see the Bravados later on tonight as they attempt to clinch the division.



JERRY LYNN pinned ALEX REYNOLDS****
It was an efficient performance by Lynn tonight, as he was never really threatened. After taking control of Reynolds with several high-impact moves, Lynn sealed the deal with the Cradle Piledriver.


Daytondave: Jerry Lynn looked great out there tonight. He is another step closer to a shot at the championship. All right, fans- it's been an interesting night so far, and you know there's never a dull moment when LARRY SWEENEY takes the stage for "Sweet Talk"!

The scene shifts to the set of “Sweet Talk”, where LARRY SWEENEY struts across the stage, grinning broadly.  He is accompanied by KIMBER LEE, who proudly carries the Filsinger Cup trophy.  Kimber holds the trophy overhead, and the fans jeer as Sweeney drops to his knees, waving his hands up and down in adoration of the cup winner.
 
Sweeney: That's right,  jabronies, say hello to the queen of the wrestling scene!  What a proud moment for Sweet ‘N Kimber Incorporated!

Sweeney:  Boo all you want to, losers.  Jealousy is an ugly thing.  But success- there's nothing sweeter!  My girl Kimber owns the Cup- and CHEERLEADER MELISSA- we are coming for the Heartland Ladies Championship!   

(Boos)

Sweeney: Enough out of you people already.   Let's talk about the Indies. The new rankings are out! To the surprise of no one, ADAM COLE is still the number one guy.  He has dominated the King Of The Indies Championship and he has turned aside every challenger.  Next up for Cole is the little dynamo RICOCHET!  Ricochet just won the Best Of The Best Championship in Ultimate Kombat Wrestling,  and he has earned his shot at glory.  This little guy is capable of big things, but I don't know if he is the guy to take down Cole.

Sweeney:  KENNY OMEGA & CHRIS SABIN are still on top of the mountain in the tag team world.  These guys have the skills and the chemistry to have a long run with the titles.  The new number one contenders are the duo of ROPPONGI VICE.  Beretta and Romero have been up and down the road a few times, but they recently won the EVOLVE tag team championship and put themselves in line for a title shot.  Good luck,  boys!

Sweeney: Besides the Roppongi Crew, we got some other new champs around the indies to recognize tonight. How crazy is Ultimate Kombat these days? Not only did Ricochet win a title, the tag belts changed hands TWICE! Right now, THE YOUNG BUCKS hold the belts. The Bucks beat BLKOUT after BLKOUT won a Triple Threat match over the original champs DA HIT SQUAD and also THE GENTLEMAN'S CLUB. I don't know how Commissioner BIG DADDY KANTER keeps all that straight- but I do know that Da Hit Squad and BLKOUT are two nasty teams. The Young Bucks better keep their heads on a swivel if they expect to survive that situation.

Sweeney: Lemme also give a shout-out to BRIAN DANIELSON, who is the winner of the first-ever Full Impact Pro Championship. Dude survived a Battle Royal and a Fatal Four-Way before he finally finished off RODERICK STRONG to win the championship. Well done, Dragon!

Sweeney: All right, now- the last thing on my mind tonight is what you might call the 800-pound gorilla in the room. The UNMANGLERS are coming tonight…. seriously? I know TIM DONST has been stirring up trouble- but does anybody really believe that these mystery messages mean anything? I smell a hoax. These videos are creepy, but it takes more than just special effects to get the best of a man like Donst. This guy is a tactical genius- PLUS he's got TROY XAVIER, WAR MACHINE, EDDIE KINGSTON, and BRODIE LEE watching his back. What could possibly go wrong? My money says that the so-called Unmanglers are a no-show tonight.

Sweeney looks into the camera dramatically, drops the microphone, and walks off the stage.


Daytondave: Wow! Strong words from Larry Sweeney. Maybe he has some inside information, or maybe he is just going out on a limb.

Warlord: Did Sweeney just do the mic drop? That cocky little son-of-a-gun. All I know is, the past few weeks we have seen a big man and a big lady, a dude with his arms up, and a couple of dudes doing the double biceps. Who know what will happen next?

Daytondave: We won't know until we get back to the ring for the rest of tonight's action.



UHAA NATION****** defeated AUSTIN ARIES*****
Two newly signed performers threw down in a massive battle to prove themselves. Aries busted out everything in his arsenal and nearly pinned Uhaa after a Brainbuster. But Uhaa survived and returned fire, reversing a suplex and taking down Aries with the All Out Assault. Action spilled outside of the ring, where both men risked disqualification in the battle for dominance. The match was almost declared a double countout, but the brawl returned to the ring where Uhaa planted Aries with an impressive powerslam! Uhaa took control, and several moments later, Uhaa picked up the victory with the Ultra Combination.


Warlord: What a match!

Daytondave: They put it all on the line tonight. Both these guys are hungry for success in the Heartland! Kudos to Uhaa Nation for coming out on top in that match. Ladies and gentlemen, throughout 2017, the Independent Tag Team League has been hotly contested- but tonight's match may be the most important of the year as THE BRAVADO BROTHERS attempt to right the ship and clinch the top spot in the CHIKARA Division.



2017 INDEPENDENT TAG TEAM LEAGUE
THE BRAVADO BROTHERS (5-3) vs. THE ROUGHNECKS (4-4)
It was a dominant performance from the Bravado Brothers when they needed it most. The Bravados isolated Grizzly in the ring and controlled the action from start to finish. Things were looking grim for Grizzly when Lancelot planted Redwood with a Deadlift German Suplex. Brodie hit the ring to make the save, but the conclusion was inevitable. The referee put Brodie out of the ring, and the Bravados took the opportunity to team up on Grizzly for the Gentleman's Approach for the finish.


WINNERS: THE BRAVADO BROTHERS


After the decision, Brodie returned to the ring and helped Grizzly to his feet. As Grizzly regained his senses, Brodie hurled Grizzly to the ropes, then leveled the little lumberjack with a big boot! Brodie picked Grizzly off the canvas, and hurled Grizzly out of the ring, sending Grizzly rolling acorss the floor and under the announcers' table.


Daytondave: That was sad. It's the end of the Roughnecks.

Warlord: Brodie Lee has bigger fish to fry, Daytondave. He's an Alpha Dog now!

Daytondave: But the big news here is that the Bravados have clinched the CHIKARA Division of the Tag Team League. It will be the Bravados vs. The Tribe for the 2017 championship! Congratulations to both these teams for an outstanding 2017 campaign. And now, fans- it's time for the Main Event!



MAIN EVENT: CHIKARA TRIOS CHAMPIONSHIP

The challengers, 3.Ole, waited in the ring for the arrival of Donst & War Machine. As soon as the champions hit the ring, the arena went dark! Sirens blared and colored lights flashed around the arena. Chaos erupted in the ring and bodies flew around ringside. When the lights came up, both members of War Machine were handcuffed in opposite corners of the ring! Tim Donst lay face down in the center of the ring, dazed and confused. The fans erupted in cheers at the sight of

Warlord: They're here! They're here! It's the Unmanglers!!

Daytondave: OHMYGAWWWWWD!!!

Donst attempted to stagger to his feet, but Claudio grabbed him by the legs. The fans went into hysterics when Claudio picked up Donst and began the Giant Swing! Around and around went Donst as the crowd rose and chanted. Finally, Claudio turned Donst loose, sending Donst slamming into Hanson in the corner!

Daytondave: Now that's what I call a Reprisal!

As Donst and War Machine lay helpless in the ring, TROY XAVIER began waving frantically to backstage. Instantly, BRODIE LEE & EDDIE KINGSTON burst through the curtain!

Warlord: It's the Alpha Dogs! There's gonna be hell to pay now!

Lee and Kingston charged down the ramp, when out of nowhere, both Dogs were assaulted with Kendo Sticks! Lee and Kingston went down, and the Kendo Stick beating continued without mercy! The fans again came to an uproar as the assailants were recognized:

Warlord: Bryan Danielson! Sara Del Rey!

Daytondave: What a crew! This new faction of the Unmanglers is dishing out hard justice here tonight! Ladies and gentlemen- the first shot has been fired in a new and incredible war! The entire Xavier Alliance has been decimated!

Warlord: We ain't havin' no Trios Championship Match tonight!

Daytondave: I think that is the last thing on the mind of the Alliance right now. The fury of the Unmanglers has been unleashed! This is far beyond anything that I anticipated, and I think I speak for all the great fans of the Heartland when I applaud the Unmanglers for making an impact here tonight. What an unbelievable attack! All right, fans- we're done here. Thanks for checking us out on this unforgettable night! CHIKARA will be back in action next Saturday night, and the fallout of tonight's events will begin. But that's not all, fans- the CHIKARA Grand Championship will be defended next week! In a rematch from their previous battle which ended in disqualification, DELIRIOUS will once again put his title on the line against JOCK SAMSON. That's our show, and I AM OUTTA HERE!

I only have one word for joebreakdown - RUN! Other than that this was an outstanding event and what could top the reveal of The Unmanglers? Claudio, the Bucks, Danielson and Del Ray make for a great unit and the Heartland may never be the same again. So much action but so little time for this Aftershow. I will conclude it with a tribute to The Unmanglers - The Final Countdown by Europe...

The show opens with the tune, "I Won't Back Down" by Tom Petty playing overhead. DAYTONDAVE & WARLORD enter through the curtain to the cheers of the crowd. The hosts make their way down the aisle, but as they enter the ring, the music stops abruptly. The tune, "God's Gonna Cut You Down" by Johnny Cash hits the speakers, and BRODIE LEE emerges on the entryway accompanied by TROY XAVIER. Lee and Xavier stalk down the aisle.

Daytondave: Hey, fans! Welcome to Heartland Championship Wrestling live from Fargo! It's great to be with you this evening from North Dakota State University- and it looks like we are going to be joined by some unanticipated guests. Not surprising, considering what went down last week in Bismarck. What's on your mind, gentlemen?

Troy: You know, Daytondave, you and I have been friends for a long time. In my heart of hearts, I know that you were not personally responsible for the debacle that took place last week when my men were ruthlessly victimized in an unprovoked assault. And when the Alpha Dogs tried to intervene- they were beaten with sticks!

Brodie: We were beaten like dogs!

Warlord: The Alpha Dogs were beaten like dogs? How ironic...

Troy: Pipe down, baldie. This doesn't concern you. This concerns Brodie Lee and Bryan Danielson. Tonight, right here in Fargo, we challenge Danielson to a Kendo Stick Match!

Warlord: Who do you think you are to come out here and make demands-

Daytondave: Easy now, big man. Troy has a point- and Danielson has an open contract. Brodie Lee- I don't like you and I don't trust you- but you have your match. This is the Heartland- and we settle our business in the ring. And tonight, we will see a Kendo Stick match. So Troy, you and Lee get yourselves ready. And fans- you better get yourselves ready, too! A big night of action just got bigger! In addition to the grudge match, we have the CHIKARA Grand Championship in our Main Event! DELIRIOUS is here- JOCK SAMSON is here- and tonight these two will collide once again with the title on the line. So relax, grab yourself a cold one, and enjoy the show!



TEAM SLAP HAPPY (HEIDI LOVELACE** & EVIE) defeated THE KILLER DEATH MACHINES (JESSICKA HAVOK*** & NEVAEH)
It was a stellar debut for Heidi and Evie! The newcomers went back and forth with the Machines for several minutes until Heidi found herself in big trouble against Nevaeh. Nevaeh took Heidi to the brink of defeat, but Evie rescued her partner after Nevaeh gained a near fall with a bridging German Suplex. Jessicka stormed into the ring, but ate a crushing Yakuza kick from Evie! Heidi was on the spot and immediately went to the top rope, coming off with a Frog Splash for the pin!


Daytondave: A big victory for the new team of Evie and Heidi!

Warlord: Pretty impressive. I thought that the Machines would have won that one.

Daytondave: I see your point. But the Machines have been in a heated feud with the CANADIAN NINJAS these past few weeks and I am sure they are not at the top of their game. Still- Heidi and Evie are off to a great start in their Heartland run.



RODERICK STRONG* defeated ARIK CANNON**** by submission
Two top contenders with contrasting styles went to battle in a competitive and entertaining bout. Strong controlled most of the match with his mat wrestling skills, but didn't do much damage. Cannon took to brawling, hitting some stiff shots, but Roderick absorbed the punishment and took Cannon to the mat for a LeBell Lock. Cannon struggled to get to the ropes but was finally able to force the break. Strong kept in control, and soon manuevered Cannon into the Strong Hold in the center of the ring! This time there was no escape, and Cannon was forced to give it up.


Warlord: That looked like it must have hurt!

Daytondave: No doubt about it. Roderick Strong knows how to hurt people! He also knows how to get it done in the ring, and tonight he proved himself against a rugged brawler.



LOS ICE CREAMS (EL HIJO & JUNIOR) defeated THE DEVASTATION CORPORATION (MAX SMASHMASTER* & BLASTER MCMASSIVE)
Los Ice Creams pulled off a surprise win! Smashmaster was beating down both men, but El Hijo dodged a dropkick and Max fell to the canvas. Junior quickly joined El Hijo in the ring for El Asesino and a flash pin!


Warlord: What just happened?

Daytondave: Los Ice Creams picked up an upset victory!

Warlord: That never happens!

Daytondave: Never say never, my man. All right, fans- coming up next, a big match between two of the top ladies in the Heartland!



MERCEDES MARTINEZ* pinned TRISH STRATUS**** (w/JIMMY HART)
Two former Ladies' champions had an all-out war! The action went back and forth for over fifteen minutes. Trish had the athleticism working, but as the match wore on, Mercedes put a hurting on Trish with chop after puniching chop. Trish tried to escape from the ring, but the punishment continued. Even the attempts from Jimmy Hart to provide distraction proved fruitless as Mercedes delivered the Fisherman Buster for a hard-fought win.


Daytondave: You won't see two better athletes in a more intense battle than what we just witnessed. Both these ladies want to get back to the number one contender's position- but there's still a long road ahead for Mercedes after tonight's win. Fans- the time has come for this week's edition of "Sweet Talk"!

The scene shifts to the set of "Sweet Talk", where LARRY SWEENEY wears his usual grin. KIMBER LEE sashays around the stage with her Filsinger Cup Trophy, while JESSIE MCKAY & JOEBREAKDOWN snuggle happily on the sofa.

Sweeney: Yeah... it's good to be me... and it's good to be part of Sweet 'N Kimber Incorporated! Hard to say which of these two beautiful ladies is happier with their trophies, but we are on top of the world these days. Especially since everybody else around CHIKARA is fighting for survival. Can you believe what THE UNMANGLERS pulled off last week? Sure, I was skeptical- but the sight of CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI, SARA DEL REY, THE YOUNG BUCKS, & BRYAN DANIELSON made me fall out of my chair! Normally, I am not a fan of do-gooders, but Claudio and Sara are two of my greatest friends in this business and I am behind them all the way. Danielson? Not so much- he has a beating in his very near future when BRODIE LEE gets him in the Kendo Stick match tonight.

Sweeney: It was a HUGE week for VEDA SCOTT this week in ROH:New York! Team Veda took all the gold that ROH has to offer! First, it was PUNISHMENT MARTINEZ bringing home the Television Title, and then the ALL NIGHT EXPRESS scored a win over KENNY OMEGA & CHRIS SABIN to win the Tag Team belts! And to top it all off, JAY BRISCOE defeated MICHAEL ELGIN to win the Heavyweight Championship! Kudos to all those guys for winning the titles, and most of all to Veda Scott for making it happen!

Sweeney: If that wasn't enough, things got crazy in Ultimate Kombat Wrestling. UKW also witnessed the crowning of new Tag Team Champions when SCARLET & GRAVES took down the YOUNG BUCKS! These two kids, DEZMOND XAVIER & ZACHARY WENTZ, have all the potential in the world- heck, maybe we should call them the Younger Bucks! But that wasn't even the high point of the show. The UKW Underground Championship changed hands TWICE in one night! TRACY SMOTHERS started the night with the belt, which is not surprising since he is the baddest man on earth. Tracy fought off DANNY HAVOC in the men's room, of all places. But before Smothers could even make it back to the locker room, along comes JOE GACY to beat down Smothers and grab the belt. But Gacy found himself on the wrong end of a hellacious beating from SABU, who finally came away as the champ. Unbelievable!

Sweeney: The indies did see a couple of successful title defenses this week. ROPPONGI VICE managed to take down Scarlet & Graves to hold on to the EVOLVE Tag Team Championship, and over at CCW SuperGirls, it was MSCHIF who took care of business against CHEERLEADER MELISSA.

Sweeney: All right, people- no matter how hard I try, there's only so much knowledge your little Bison Brains can absorb in one night, so that's enough "Sweet Talk" for you. The pleasure was yours!

2017 INDEPENDENT TAG TEAM LEAGUE
AMASIS & OPHIDIAN (4-4) vs. JOEY RYAN & SCORPIO SKY (4-4)
Ryan & Sky were physically dominant in tonight's match, overpowering the Portal and keeping control throughout the bout. Amasis took most of the punishment and Ryan put him away with the Walk Off.


WINNERS: RYAN & SKY


Daytondave: A solid finish for Ryan and Scorpio. They end the season with a winning record, but not enough to overtake their West Coast rivals THE TRIBE for the top spot in the Independent Division.

Warlord: Pack your bags, boys. It was nice knowing you.

Daytondave: All right, fans- last week we saw the arrival of THE UNMANGLERS. Claudio Castagnoli and his crew came to CHIKARA and picked a fight with the XAVIER ALLIANCE. As a result, we have the first in-ring confrontation between these factions- but I suspect it won't be the last.


KENDO STICK MATCH
BRYAN DANIELSON defeated BRODIE LEE*
In a surprisingly quick battle, Danielson got the drop on Brodie and beat the stuffings out of him with the Kendo Stick! Brodie tried to fend off the blows, but eventually dropped his weapon and fell to the mat. Danielson pounced immediately, rolling Lee into the Cattle Mutilation and forcing him to tap out!

After the match, Danielson began to celebrate, but he was attacked by WAR MACHINE! HANSON & RAYMOND ROWE backjumped Danielson and began putting the boots to him. Before War Machine could do any major damage, THE YOUNG BUCKS charged to the ring and battled back against the big men! It looked like the battle was about to escalate, but TROY XAVIER called off his men and the Alliance left the ring. Xavier marched to the announcers' table and confronted Daytondave.

Xavier: Seriously? Is this some kind of a joke? That little twerp Danielson can't beat anybody without a stick? How fair is that? My men deserve better than that. We want a shot at Danielson and those little pretty boy Bucks- with no weapons!

Daytondave: Count on it. Next week- you bring your guys for a six-man! Brodie & War Machine against Danielson & The Young Bucks! Now get out of here and bring your men back ready to fight.

Warlord: Atta boy, Daytondave! Way to lay down the law!

Daytondave: The Commish has to do what the Commish has to do, my man. We have a Championship Match waiting!



MAIN EVENT: CHIKARA GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP
DELIRIOUS (c) pinned JOCK SAMSON*
Lightning strikes again! Samson came out aggressively and attempted to overpower the champion, but Delirious survived a big body slam and stunned Samson with a headbutt. Samson was stunned, and Delirious went to the top rope to clobber Samson with Shadows Over Heck! Taking control, Delirious hoisted up the big hillbilly and dropped him with the Praying Mantis Bomb for the pin!

DELIRIOUS RETAINS THE CHIKARA GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP

After the decision, Delirious retrieved his title belt and sprinted around the ring in celebration. But the joy was interrupted when the tune, "Bow Down" by Kenny Pickett played overhead. EDDIE KINGSTON stepped through the curtain and stood on the entry way, accompanied by TROY XAVIER. Kingston glared at Delirious, pointing at the champion, then gesturing around his waist as if wearing a title belt. Xavier rubbed his hands together and laughed before the pair disappeared through the curtain.


Daytondave: The gauntlet has been thrown down! Congratulations to Delirious for once again retaining the CHIKARA Grand Championship- but his confrontation with Eddie Kingston is close at hand, and Eddie is sending a message that Delirious had better be ready! It's the Final Countdown...

I absolutely loved the introduction of The Unmanglers and I am going to do my best to keep out of their way. Unlike Sweeney and Crew, these guys (and gal!) are very intimidating and ol' Cruefan wants to stay in good health. I see Sweeney is also trying to stay on their good side. Smart man.

Big win for Bryan Danielson over Brodie Lee in the Kendo Stick Match and I loved the post-match setting up the big six-man tag. I was pulling for Jock Samson to get the upset but Delirious has proven to be a real force as the CHIKARA Grand Champion. The other action was great, especially Roderick Strong over Ark Cannon and Team Slap Happy over the Killer Death Machines.

The show opens with the tune, "I Won't Back Down" by Tom Petty playing overhead. DAYTONDAVE & WARLORD enter through the curtain to the cheers of the crowd. Warlord stops on the ring ramp and silently bows his head. Daytondave appears surprised, and he stops on the ramp until Warlord raises his head.

Warlord: I miss Tom Petty.

Daytondave: The world lost a treasure when Tom passed away. That's why I am pleased to announce that our next Heartland pay-per-view will be entitled Heartland Havoc LXXXIII: I Won't Back Down, which will take place on November 25. Fans, welcome to this Wednesday night edition of the CHIKARA brand of professional wrestling! This is our first venture into the state of South Dakota, and we are proud to be here with an exciting night of action.

Warlord: God bless the Mount Rushmore State! Under God, the people rule!

Daytondave: And, congratulations to Warlord for the first cheap pop in South Dakota history. Now that we have that out of the way, we can move on to tonight's wrestling. ETHAN PAGE is here tonight to defend his Generic Secondary Championship against RODERICK STRONG. But we're going to kick things off tonight with the Heartland Ladies in action. So relax, grab yourself a cold one, and enjoy the show!



JESSIE MCKAY** pinned SHAZZA MCKENZIE*****
A good battle between two Aussies with different sizes and styles. Action went back and forth until Shazza went to the top rope for a high-risk move. Unfortunately, Shazza crashed into referee BIG JIM THE ENFORCER, who was stunned momentarily. JOEBREAKDOWN took the opportunity to distract Shazza by grabbing her leg, opening the door for Jessie to connect with a running clothesline! Jessie connected solidly to put Shazza down, and Jessie quickly planted Shazza with the Boyfriend Stealer as Big Jim recovered to issue the three count.


Daytondave: That was an important victory for Jessie- she just earned herself a #1 Contender's Match! It's a tainted victory, given the involvement of JOEMEATHEAD there at ringside, but the result stands and Jessie is your winner. Things could get even more interesting in the Ladies' Division, since CHEERLEADER MELISSA is scheduled to defend her title this weekend against Jessie's BFF KIMBER LEE.

Warlord: Riddle me this, crimestopper- did Big Jim just get knocked out by a 125-pound chick?

Daytondave: He wasn't out for THAT long- he still finished the match.

Warlord laughs out loud.

Daytondave: No doubt, Big Jim will hear about that from you and your Wide Load pals. But we have more action to come tonight!



2017 INDEPENDENT TAG TEAM LEAGUE
KODAMA & OBARIYON (4-4) vs. PIECES OF HATE (4-4)
Two teams battling for pride went all out in their final league match. All four men brought the intensity, with double-teams throughout the contest. Things got out of hand when Kodama and Shard went to the arena floor and threw down. The referee could not get control of the action, and eventually counted out both teams.

RESULT: DOUBLE COUNT-OUT

After the referee called for the bell, the brawl continued! Kodama got the best of Shard, and Obariyon came to the aid of his partner. Kodama and Obariyon teamed up to pick Shard off the ground and drop him onto the steel security rail! Shard crumpled to the floor as Jigsaw dashed to help. Kodama and Obariyon shared a scoffing laugh as they strutted away in triumph.


Daytondave: I guess the frustration just boiled over for both those teams after failing to come out on top of the CHIKARA Division.

Warlord: Poor Shard- he don't look so good.

Daytondave: That was a nasty spill he took. There could be broken ribs involved. Amazingly, that goes down as a loss for both teams- and that leaves THE BRAVADO BROTHERS as the only CHIKARA team to finish 2017 with a winning record! The Bravados are headed to the League Championship match at Won't Back Down!



CHIKARA CONTRACT MATCH
'MR. TOUCHDOWN' MARK ANGELOSETTI* pinned MICHAEL BENNETT* (w/MARIA KANELLIS)
With a contract on the line, Bennett and Angelosetti threw down in a fierce battle. Bennett showed himself to be the better athlete, controlling most of the action, but Angelosetti dug deep and threw hands with Bennett on the arena floor. Angelosetti smashed Bennett into the steel ringpost, stunning the Prodigy and causing Maria to shriek! Angelosetti kept his focus, and brought Bennett back into the ring, where Mr. Touchdown scored with the Extra Point to score the pin!


Warlord: It's goooooooooood!

Daytondave: Welcome back to Mark Angelosetti! It looked like Angelosetti was overmatched tonight, but the man is a winner and he is primed and ready for another run here in CHIKARA.

Warlord: He could- go- all- the- waaaaaaaaaay!

Daytondave: Yes, he could!



GENERIC SECONDARY CHAMPIONSHIP
RODERICK STRONG** pinned ETHAN PAGE*** (c)
Page came out determined to hold his title, but Strong outwrestled the champion and nearly forced Page to tap out to the Strong Hold. Page fought his way to the arena floor, then smoked Strong with a BOOM! Head Shot! Page confidently pitched Strong back into the ring, and delivered the Spinning Dwayne! Page made the cover, but Strong shocked the arena fans by kicking out at the count of two! The match continued, and Strong found his second win. A jumping knee strike from Roderick stunned Page, and Roderick propelled himself off the ropes with a Sick Kick to the side of the champion's head! Page was out before he hit the mat, and Strong covered him for the three count.


RODERICK STRONG WINS THE GENERIC SECONDARY CHAMPIONSHIP


Warlord: Ladies and gentlemen, history has been made!

Daytondave: Whoa, whoa, whoa! Big man- no need to break out the hyperbole. It's just the Generic Secondary Championship.

Warlord: But it's the first time in the history of the Heartland that a title has changed hands in the state of South Dakota!

Daytondave: That's a good point.

Warlord: Right here in Rapid City South Dakota! Roderick Strong has finally fulfilled his boyhood dream! Fifteen pounds of gold around his waist! We're done here! CHIKARA will be back on Saturday Night with a great Main Event!

Warlord pauses, then scratches his head.

Warlord: Ummm... Daytondave? Who's in the Main Event on Saturday?

Daytondave: It should be a great-
