Louis Brown Center, Piscataway, NJ

The show opens with the tune, "Awake and Alive" by Skillet playing overhead. The Rutgers crowd is animated, but the mood turns somber as WARLORD storms through the curtain with a scowl. Warlord is joined by LARRY SWEENEY, who is visibly upset. KIMBER LEE walks alongside Sweeney, red-faced and fighting back tears.

Sweeney: Unbelievable. UN-FLIPPING-BELIEVABLE.

Kimber: It was HORRIBLE!

Footage is displayed from the special appearance by DAYTONDAVE at the Atlanta Wrestling Entertainment awards presentation. Daytondave presents the Tag Team of the Year plaque to JIMMY RAVE & DONOVAN DIJAK. Out of nowhere, Rave is interrupted by a superkick to the back of his head! It's the YOUNG BUCKS! Matt Jackson drilled Rave while Nick Jackson nailed Dijak with a trash can! The Bucks then double superkick Dijak in the stomach and follow up with a double superkick to the face! As Rave starts to recover, Nick picks up the dropped plaque and smashes it over his head busting the "Savior of Atlanta Wrestling" wide open! Wheeler takes off, heading for the hills and tries to pull Dayton Dave along with him. Dave stands his ground and says, "I'm tired of you Ring of Cowards! I'll-" and just like that, Dave got his invitation to the superkick party, as both Bucks superkicked him in the face! The Bucks then told the downed Dave, "Watch this!" Nick hoisted Rave up in a fireman's carry and went for a Death Valley driver, but at the last second, Matt slid the Tag Team of the Year plaque in between Rave's head and the floor, busting Rave's head even worse. Matt went back to Dave and said, "We're calling that the DaytonDaveDriver! Hope you liked it! Oh, and thanks for inviting us to your little tag team league thing..." The Bucks then grabbed the plaque and ran off laughing.

Warlord: Those little punks need a beating.

Sweeney: You're telling me. Daytondave is still in a coma! But you know, more than anything, he would want the show to go on. So we are here tonight to wrestle! I've been working the phones all day, and we got guys here in Piscataway who are ready for action. We're gonna kick things off with some tag team action! As the man himself would say, relax, grab yourself a cold one, and enjoy the show!



HALLOWICKED & FRIGHTMARE defeated TO INFINITY AND BEYOND (COLIN DELANEY** & CREECH)
The opening tag match was nearly over before it started. Clearly angry about the events surrounding Daytondave and the insults from the Ring of Honor, Frightmare and Hallowicked lit into their overmatched competition. Delaney bore the brunt of the attacks and Hallowicked quickly finished the destruction with the Go 2 Sleepy Hollow.


Warlord: Whoa! That was awesome!

Sweeney: That's a level of aggression we don't usually see from Hallowicked. The CHIKARA locker room is not a happy place tonight. All right- let's see who's up next.

Kimber: Larry? I talked to a new girl and set her up with a match tonight. How about a ladies' match?

Sweeney: Great work, Kimber. Bring it on!



KELLY KLEIN***** defeated SHAZZA MCKENZIE***
In her CHIKARA debut, Kelly put on quite a show of power! Klein threw Shazza around the ring with suplexes and Samoan drops until the Aussie could barely get to her feet. Shazza battled back bravely and dropped Kelly with the Shaztastic Stunner, but Shazza didn't have the strength to hold Kelly down for the three count. Kelly got back to her feet and put Shazza away with the End Of The Match.


Warlord: That is one impressive lady! She is a powerhouse!

Sweeney: Well done, Kimber! One of the most dangerous ladies in the indies is here in CHIKARA and no one is safe! Okay- we have another match lined up- and it's gonna be two of our top 8 contenders! UHAA NATION has taken CHIKARA by storm, but if he wants to stay in contention for the Grand Championship, he's gonna have to beat TJ PERKINS to keep his spot.

Warlord: TJ Perkins? Ain't he a Ring of Honor guy?

Sweeney: He is- and if he steps out of line, you have my permission to break him in half.



UHAA NATION pinned TJ PERKINS**
Uhaa launched into TJ with great vengeance and furious anger! As soon as the bell rang, Uhaa pitched Perkins out to the arena floor and pounded TJ into the concrete. Uhaa slammed TJ onto the ring apron, then dropped Perkins crotch-first onto the steel security railing! The referee allowed the beating to continue, finally coaxing Uhaa to bring the match into the ring. TJ never stood a chance as Uhaa finished him off with the Ultra Combination.


Warlord: Yeah! Kick his Ring of Cowardly butt!

Sweeney: And the referee just let it all slide. You Ring of Honor boys feeling froggy? You think you're big stuff because you superkicked our Commissioner? Come get a piece of this, jabronies!

Warlord: You tell 'em, Sweeney!

Sweeney: You're damn right. All right, Rutgers- you deserve a great match to send you home happy on this cold Wednesday night. How about a title match?

(Cheers)

Sweeney: We're going to treat you fine folks to a Generic Secondary Championship match tonight!

BRODIE LEE stalks down to ringside, carrying the Secondary title belt, accompanied by TROY XAVIER. Troy looks quizically at Sweeney as he awaits the challenger.

Sweeney: Your challenger is the man who was runner-up in the CHIKARA Grand Championship tournament, and one of the top guys in all of the Indies. Put your hands together for ADAM PEARCE!

The fans hiss as Pearce strides down the aisle, but Lee waves Pearce into the ring and the referee calls for the bell.

Warlord: How did we just KNOW that Sweeney would book his own guy for the title shot?

Sweeney: What?!? Warlord, are you accusing me of misconduct? Favoritism? I resent that implication!!

Sweeney storms away from the announcers' table as the match starts.



FEATURE MATCH: GENERIC SECONDARY CHAMPIONSHIP
ADAM PEARCE pinned BRODIE LEE* (c)
As the competitors squared off, Sweeney continued his tirade, storming around the ring yelling at the fans, the referee, and even Troy Xavier. Pearce took advantage of the situation, nailing Brodie with a low blow! Pearce immediately hoisted Brodie up for a Jumping Piledriver! Pearce made the cover, and Sweeney grabbed the legs of Lee to prevent him from kicking out as the referee made the three count!


ADAM PEARCE WINS THE GENERIC SECONDARY CHAMPIONSHIP


Warlord: Wait- what? I believe we have been hoodwinked! Bamboozled! Swindled!

Chaos erupts at ringside as Pearce rolls out of the ring. Sweeney grabs the Generic Secondary Championship belt and hurriedly leaves with Pearce following behind.

Warlord: Heavens to Betsy! We have a new Generic Secondary Champion. Troy Xavier sure doesn't look happy about that. I guess that's all for tonight, but I am pretty sure we'll be back on Saturday. Until them, I am going to go check on my buddy Daytondave. Good night, everybody!

I tried to warn joebreakdown about Jessie McKay but I guess he was blinded by the attention. Don't worry, Joe, you will recover quickly as she is not worth the time especially being associated with the likes of Kimber Lee and Larry Sweeney. The King of the Indies and the 20218 Tag League events look amazing. That is why I tune into the Heartland. Sweeney and his goons can take a long walk on a short pier for all I care, especially after cheating Brodie Lee out of the Generic Secondary Championship. Oh how I would love to see Sweeney take a Big Boot from Lee somewhere down the line.

While the wrestling action was great on the last two shows, the outside the ring activity was particularly brutal especially the Young Bucks taking out Dayton Dave. Not cool. Even worse is with Dayton Dave out Sweeney was on commentary. Somebody push the mute button. At any rate that is all for this Aftershow and I will end it with an Iron Maiden classic - 2 Minutes to Midnight...

King of the Indies: Chikara!

Comcast Center, College Park, Maryland

The show opens with the tune, "More More More" by the Andrea True Connection playing overhead. The fans respond with surprise as LARRY SWEENEY struts through the curtain, accompanied by ADAM PEARCE. Sweeney struts down the aisle in time with the music, drawing cheers and jeers from the crowd. Pearce carries the Generic Secondary Championship proudly over his shoulder as he joins Sweeney at the announcers' table.

Sweeney: Maryland... how are ya? A fine-looking bunch of Terrapins you are! Larry Sweeney here, large and in charge for tonight's broadcast of CHIKARA. Sadly, my man DAYTONDAVE is still in a coma down in Atlanta after the unprovoked assault by those snarky little twits THE YOUNG BUCKS. WARLORD took a truck full of Wide Load guys down to check on him, so tonight's show is brought to you by your good friends from Sweet 'N Kimber, Incorporated! Even without Daytondave, we're gonna have plenty of fun tonight- so let's get it started!


CHIKARA TRIOS
THE UNSTABLE (COLIN DELANEY***, STIGMA**, & VIN GERARD) defeated THE BATIRI (OBARIYON***, KODAMA, & KOBALD)
The trios match started fast and furious as all three Batiri stormed the ring and pummeled Delaney. Colin was lucky to survive the onslaught and escape the ring, but Stigma fared no better. Kobald took down Stigma with the Demon's Toilet, but Gerard made the save. Gerard managed to slow down the pace of the match and take control against Obariyon. The Unstable ground the match into the mat and it was Stigma who finished off Obariyon with the Stigmata.


Sweeney: How about that? CHIKARA trios action is as exciting as it gets around the indy scene. Good job by the Unstable to take down the former trios champions.



KELLY KLEIN pinned ANGELUS LAYNE**
In a surprisingly quick match, Klein moved her record to 2-0 in the Heartland after dominating Angelus and putting her away with The End Of The Match.


Sweeney: Quite an impressive newcomer! Kimber did well to convince Kelly to come here.

As Sweeney analyzes the match, TROY XAVIER and BRODIE LEE stride to ringside. Adam Pearce quickly stands up to protect Sweeney. Lee moves into the face of Pearce, glaring at Pearce and eying the Generic Secondary Championship belt.

Sweeney: Security! Security! Get these guys out of here!

Immediately, a team of Heartland Security officers sprints to the announcers' table. Lee continues to glare at Pearce, but Troy backs away and leads Brodie away from ringside without incident.

Pearce: What did you do that for? I had everything under control.

Sweeney: I am in charge around here, people. When you are the big dog like me, you get the VIP treatment.

Pearce: I'm not afraid of that big galoot.

Sweeney: I hear you, partner.



2018 INDEPENDENT TAG TEAM LEAGUE
INCOHERENCE (0-0) vs. THE ADDICTION (0-0)
Hallowicked came out in a furious rage and took the fight to Christopher Daniels. Hallowicked beat down Daniels for several minutes and teamed with Delirious to deliver the Headless Horseman! It looked like Daniels was done, but Kazarian made the save and rolled Daniels out of the ring. Kazarian hit Hallowcked with Back To The Future and covered Hallowicked for the three count.


WINNERS: THE ADDICTION


Sweeney: Blast it! I hate losing to those guys!

Pearce: Incoherence was more interested in beating up the Ring of Honor guys than winning the match. The Addiction stole that one.

Sweeney: Bite your tongue, Adam. It's "Ring of Cowards."

Peck had the fans on his side and all the momentum until he ran into The Spinning Dwayne from Page which ended Archie's night.


Sweeney: He got all of that one! Great work by Ethan Page, squashing that tomato can. All right, Terrapins- obviously it is a busy night for Larry Sweeney. So to take care of tonight's review of the indie scene, tonight's edition of "Sweet Talk" will be presented by the First Lady of CHIKARA, KIMBER LEE!

The scene shifts to the set of "Sweet Talk". Kimber Lee stands nervously at the podium, behind a large stack of notes. JESSIE MCKAY is beside Kimber, helping her prepare for the show, as JOEBREAKDOWN sits patiently on the couch. The crowd listens quietly as Kimber takes a deep breath and begins the show.

Kimber: Hello, everyone. Welcome to "Sweet Talk". I can't believe all of these notes! There is so much happening around the indies- I don't know how Larry keeps track of it all!

Jessie: He's a smart guy.

Kimber: I know, right? First things first, I want to send a sincere "Get Well Soon" to DAYTONDAVE. He's kind of a dork, but he runs a good show and he gave Larry a job, so I certainly don't have anything bad to say about him.

Jessie: Daytondave is a dork? I think he's kinda cute.

Kimber: Really? Well, we know you have crappy taste in men, for sure.

Jessie: What-ev-er!

Kimber: So anyway, let's get on with the show. We have had a lot of new champions crowned this week! Cheers to promoter MARC KANTER who awarded a bunch of titles this week! MARK STERLING, MARTY SCURLL, WILLIE MACK, and WILL OSPREAY won championships in Marc's new territories.

Jessie: Will Ospreay? What a dweeb!

Kimber: He must be a dweeb if even YOU don't like him! When are you dumping that JOEBRONIE loser anyway?

Jessie: That's not nice. Come here, Joebreakdown, you big stud!

Joebreakdown smiles and walks over to Jessie. Kimber sticks her leg out and trips Joebreakdown! Joebreakdown falls to the floor, and Jessie kicks him hard in the ribs!

Jessie: You are worthless! You are pathetic! You were supposed to help me win the championship!

Joebreakdown gets to his hands and knees, but Kimber boots him on the back of the head and knocks him back to the floor. Jessie puts her foot in the middle of Joe's back, holding him on the floor as she removes her belt. As Jessie prepares to whip Joebreakdown, a commotion is heard backstage. CRUEFAN bursts onto the set, accompanied by NICOLE SAVOY & SHAYNA BASZLER. Kimber shrieks and scurries away, but Shayna catches Jessie from behind and locks Jessie into a tight full nelson. Nicole prepares to tee off on Jessie, but Larry Sweeney and Adam Pearce dash to the set and put a stop to the melee.

Sweeney: EVERYONE OFF MY SET! NOW!

Cruefan helps Joebreakdown to his feet. Jessie is seething with rage, but Larry and Kimber lead her away from the set, trying to calm her down.

Joebreakdown: Dude... why did you do that? After I stole your girl?

Cruefan: Boys before toys, my man. I got your back.

Shayna: Come on, boy toys. You're coming with us!

Joebreakdown's eyes widen as Shayna and Nicole grab each man over their shoulders and carry them to ringside. The announcers' table remains empty for a moment, until the tune "Copacabana" by Barry Manilow hits the speakers. The crowd comes to its feet as COLT CABANA struts his way down the aisle and takes a seat.


Cabana: What? There's no announcer? Never fear, boys and girls, Colt Cabana at your service! I just heard that the MMA ladies are headed to the ring for a tag team match! Let's do this!



SHAYNA BASZLER & NICOLE SAVOY (w/ CRUEFAN & JOEBREAKDOWN) defeated THE DOLL HOUSE (MIA YIM* & MARTI BELLE**)
It was total domination for the MMA ladies! Shayna started the bout by beating the stuffings out of Marti. Marti tried to escape the ring, but Shayna caught her on the arena floor and dumped Marti with a gut wrench suplex onto the concrete. Shayna rolled Marti back into the ring, where Nicole picked up the action and wrapped Marti into the Texas Cloverleaf. Marti screamed in pain, but refused to submit until Mia hit the ring to make the save. But Nicole immediately wrapped Mia into the cloverleaf, and there was no escape until Mia finally gave it up.


Cabana: That's pretty darn scary. Nicole and Shayna are two of the most intimidating women I've ever seen. And believe me- I've seen some pretty intimidating women in my day. Joebreakdown- dude- you just went from the frying pan into the fire! So... now what? Sweeney left his booking notes here. Looks like we have another match scheduled!



CHIKARA GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP: #1 CONTENDERS MATCH
RODERICK STRONG* pinned JERRY LYNN********
A terrific battle between the two top contenders! Lynn and Roderick battled for over 20 minutes, with Strong controlling most of the action. Roddy locked Lynn in a series of submission holds, but Lynn stubbornly refused to give it up. Lynn rallied briefly and hit a pair of TKO's, but Lynn was too spent to put Roddy away. Strong regained the momentum and dropped Lynn with Death by Roderick to secure the victory.


Cabana: What a great match! Both those guys can go- but Roderick is going to have his hands full when he challenges RICOCHET for the Grand Championship! That was such a good match, I had a fried bologna sandwich AND read Sweeney's booking sheet while those two went at it. So I am proud to announce tonight's Main Event- a King Of The Indies Championship Tournament match- featuring Ricochet himself!



KING OF THE INDIES CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT
SAMI CALLIHAN* defeated RICOCHET** by submission
Ricochet had all the momentum after winning the CHIKARA Grand Championship, but Callihan took control of this bout from the beginning. Callihan launched himself onto Ricochet with a maniacal dive which took out both men! Callihan was first to his feet and wrapped Ricochet into the Stretch Muffler. Ricochet struggled to try to reach the ropes, but Callihan pulled Ricochet back to the center of the ring and used his weight and leverage to prevent Ricochet from escaping and ultimately for the submission.


Cabana: Yeah, baby! Sami Callihan wins it! From his humble beginnings as a little fat kid from Western Ohio, Callihan has become a wrestling machine- and now he is a semifinalist for the biggest prize in all of independent wrestling. Just two steps away from the boyhood dream! And never again will anyone call him "Cannonball"! CHIKARA fans- it has been a thrill to broadcast half of tonight's show. Maybe next week I can get promoted to 58%- who knows? But thanks to everyone for tuning in and good night!

I agree that Kat Rana could kick their butts, and Joe no need to thank me I was just doing what needed to be done. You are a good man and you don't deserve to be linked with that crew. Aside from Shayna & Nicole beating the Doll House, the highlight of the night for me was the shocking win by Sami Callihan over Ricochet in the KOTI tournament. I had Ricochet pegged as a favorite to win but now Callihan is moving on. I also thoroughly enjoyed that victory by Roderick Strong over Jerry Lynn, great bout between two evenly matched foes. Congrats also to THe Addiction on their tag league win.

The show opens with the tune, "More More More" by the Andrea True Connection playing overhead. LARRY SWEENEY struts down to the ring with a huge grin, only to be interrupted by the tune, "Copacabana" by Barry Manilow. COLT CABANA dances his way down the aisle, grinning and greeting the fans as Sweeney gives him a scowl.

Sweeney: Hello, CHIK-

Cabana: Wilberforce! How you doing?

(Cheers)

Sweeney: Who sent you out here? I got this, meathead.

Cabana: WE got this, bro. You and me- this is gonna be great!

Sweeney: Don't test me, Cabana- you step out of line with me, and buddy, I won't hesitate to-

Cabana: Call security? Easy there, sweetheart. You know I am a fun guy and I am just here to help entertain these great fans at Central State University while we all wait for DAYTONDAVE to wake up from his coma.

Sweeney: That's one thing we can all agree on. It will be great to have Daytondave back at the helm. In fact, Daytondave has been moved from Atlanta, where his injury took place, back up to Wisconsin. We're gonna check in with WARLORD tonight for an update on his condition. But tonight- we have wrestling!

Cabana: Wrestling!

Sweeney: And we have a Main Event that you won't believe- another match from the King Of The Indies Championship Tournament! The winner of the Beyond Wrestling Season 1 championship, JONATHAN GRESHAM, is going to face the FIP Heavyweight Champion BRYAN DANIELSON for a spot in the semifinals. And we have plenty of great action leading up to that big Main Event-

Cabana: So relax, grab yourself a cold one, and enjoy the show!


THE THROWBACKS (DASHER HATFIELD & SUGAR DUNKERTON) defeated LOS ICE CREAMS (EL HIJO**** & ICE CREAM JUNIOR)
Dasher and Dunkerton dominated the match from the beginning and put away El Hijo with the Grandslam Dunk.


Cabana: Awww... who doesn't love Ice Cream?

Sweeney: And who doesn't love the Heartland Ladies' Division? Two of the baddest chicks on the planet are gonna throw down next.



TRISH STRATUS** (W/JIMMY HART) pinned MERCEDES MARTINEZ**
These longtime rivals battered each other evenly for several minutes until Mercedes stung Trish with a series of brutal chops to take charge. But Trish fired back with stinging chops of her own and caught Mercedes by surprise with the Stratusfaction for the win.


Sweeney: Whoa! That was painful to watch!

Cabana: My ears are still ringing from all those chops.

Sweeney: I hear you, dude. Now we got two more guys who had strong showings at the Buckeye Bowl looking to get into contention for the Grand Championship.



SCORPIO SKY vs. CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI*** ended in a double countout
It was a hard-fought battle between two terrific athletes! Scorpio had the momentum after hitting the Argle Bargle, and Claudio went to the arena floor for a breather. Without warning, Claudio was confronted at ringside by EDDIE KINGSTON & TIM DONST! Claudio went after Eddie and Donst with uppercuts, and Claudio was holding his own until Donst retrieved a steel chair. Scorpio scurried away from the ring as Donst prepared to smash Claudio with the chair.

Cabana: Oh, no! Not on my watch!

Cabana abandoned his post at the announcers' table and sprang to action. Cabana clobbered Kingston with a haymaker, while Claudio grabbed the chair from Donst. Donst quickly fled the scene with Claudio in pursuit, but Cabana and Kingston continued to pound each other at ringside. Officials sprinted to the ring to try to pull apart the brawl without success.

Sweeney: Let them fight! Let them fight! Put them in the ring and let's settle this!

Cabana immediately rolled into the ring and waved Eddie in for a match. TROY XAVIER tried to convince Eddie to return to the locker room, but Eddie slid into the ring and a referee called for the bell!



GRUDGE MATCH: NO DISQUALIFICATION
EDDIE KINGSTON (w/TROY XAVIER) pinned COLT CABANA**
Cabana had the element of surprise in his favor, but Kingston quickly became the aggressor and tore Cabana apart with a series of vicious chops. Cabana fired back, but Colt walked right in to a Backfist To The Future and Eddie made the three count.

After the match, Cabana got to his feet and took the fight to Kingston! Kingston and Cabana battled through the arena and back up the ring ramp as the crowd roared with excitement.


Sweeney: Would you look at that! I think the Unmanglers have a new ally! This issue just keeps on escalating and it's gonna take some time to sort things out around ringside. In the meantime, let's take you to this week's edition of "Sweet Talk"!

The scene shifts to the set of "Sweet Talk". KIMBER LEE stands at the podium, looking more poised and prepared than before. She is accompanied by JESSIE MCKAY. ADAM PEARCE & PINKIE SANCHEZ stand guard over the set, scanning the crowd and looking around the set alertly.

Kimber: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Once again, it is my privilege to present this weeks news from around the independents. I would like to thank Larry Sweeney for the opportunity to be tonight's host. I will be here until DAYTONDAVE returns. We all wish Daytondave the best, and we'll have an update on his condition at the end of tonight's show.

Kimber: Once again, the new territories created my MARC KANTER stole the show on the independent scene! This week we saw some great tag team action all around the western United States and Canada. Four new tag team champions were crowned! Congratulations to all of the winners:

Kimber: In other tournament action, congratulations to AR FOX for winning his first-round match against the 2018 Buckeye Bowl winner, ZACH SABRE, JR. And thanks to TODD JOHNSTON for promoting that match on the season 2 premier of Style Battle!

Kimber: Okay, everybody. That's all I have to say. I know that you are all anxious to check in on Daytondave- so we will now take you to the hospital where Daytondave is still in a coma.


The scene shifts to a hospital room in Madison, Wisconsin. DAYTONDAVE lies unconscious in the bed. WARLORD is sitting watchfully at the bedside, while KING KONG BUNDY wipes a tear from his eye. DON LEO JONATHAN is munching nervously on turkey jerky. GIANT BERNARD is talking to a beautiful young nurse, asking a series of detailed medical questions and writing on a clipboard. ONE MAN GANG stands somberly in the corner, not even noticing the attractive nurse in the doorway.

Warlord: What a sad bunch we are… I just wish he would wake up.

Bundy: I thought that banging those two steel bedpans together might help, but the nurses made me stop.

Gang: Who can think about nurses right now? I just want my buddy to wake up…

Jonathan: Chomp, chomp sluuuuurp……

Warlord: Come on, Daytondave! You can pull through this! We have confidence in you, Daytondave!

Daytondave blinks and stirs. Warlord sits forward excitedly.

Warlord: Daytondave! You're awake!

Daytondave groans and slowly opens his eyes.

Daytondave: Wha… where am I?

Warlord: You're in the hospital, Daytondave.

Bernard: It's great to see you awake, Daytondave! The nurse said you have a grade 22 concussion. Probably no permanent brain damage, though, Daytondave.

Warlord: We're just happy that you're awake now, Daytondave!

Daytondave: What… what did you just call me?

Warlord: Daytondave! Me and my Wide Load buddies think you're awesome, Daytondave!

Daytondave rubs his eyes and looks around.

Daytondave: What… what year is it?

Bernard: 2018, Daytondave. You've been out cold for 11 days now.

Daytondave: Why does everyone keep calling me Daytondave? I haven't lived in Dayton for… eight years now!

Warlord: I was kinda wondering that myself… but I didn't know what else to call you…

Bernard: Why did you leave Dayton, anyway?

Daytondave: For a new career… an awesome job in Wisconsin working for Epic…

Bernard: That does sound pretty… Epic, Dave.

Warlord: EpicDave… that's got a nice ring to it…

Bernard: Yeah! EpicDave… I like it!

Bundy picks up the bedpans and clangs them together in rhythm, shouting "EpicDave! EpicDave! EpicDave!". Soon all the Wide Load members join in the chanting and cheering. EpicDave grabs a pillow and puts it over his ears. The nurse enters the room and tries to take the bedpans away from Bundy, but Gang spies the nurse with a twinkle in his eye. The nurse quickly runs out of the room with Gang in pursuit. The chanting continues as the scene returns to "Sweet Talk".


Kimber: What a touching scene. I am glad that Dayt- I mean, EpicDave, is awake and it looks like he is going to be okay.

Jessie: Me too!



Sweeney: You know, it's not often I agree with Warlord- but I am glad that we're going to see our old friend- with his new name- back in the Heartland. See you soon, EpicDave! Let's get back to action.



2018 INDEPENDENT TAG TEAM LEAGUE
THE BRAVADO BROTHERS (0-0) vs. 3.0 (0-0)
It was a slick debut for 3.0 in the tag team league. Matthews and Parker controlled most of the match, and after a couple of well-executed double-teams, Harlem was forced to submit to the Boston Crab! from Matthews.

WINNERS: 3.0


Sweeney: Those guys ain't my favorites, but they looked good tonight. The Bravados won the CHIKARA Division last year, but they are 0-1 for 2018. And now, people- it's a Heartland Ladies' Tag Team Match with championship implications!



HEARTLAND LADIES' TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: #1 CONTENDERS' MATCH
SHAYNA BASZLER & NICOLE SAVOY defeated NIKKI ROXX**** & ARIEL****
Nikki and Ariel were the decided underdogs in this match, but they came to the ring determined to take down the larger MMA team. Ariel started off against Shayna, actually managing to get some offense in before tagging in Nikki. Nikki did not fare as well. Shayna tossed Nikki around the ring repeatedly, then tagged in Nicole, who peppered Nikki with punishing strikes. Nikki was beaten down badly when she finally tagged Ariel back in, but Savoy immediately dumped Ariel with a Tiger Suplex. Shayna returned to the match and tortured Ariel with painful submissions, finally forcing Ariel to tap out to the Knee Bar.


Sweeney: Wow! That is one intimidating team. Nikki and Ariel did their best, but by the end of that match, Shayna and Nicole were doing whatever they wanted. So the MMA duo moves on to face THE CANADIAN NINJAS for the titles- and the Ninjas had better be ready! And finally, fans- it's time for the Main Event!



MAIN EVENT: KING OF THE INDIES CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT
JONATHAN GRESHAM pinned BRYAN DANIELSON**
Gresham surprised the Ohio crowd, taking control of the match early on and keeping Danielson on the defensive. Danielson tried without success to counter Gresham's attacks, but Gresham wrapped Danielson into a small package and scored the pin!


Sweeney: Son of a biscuit eater! That little guy is one heck of a wrestler. Congratulations to Gresham for a most improbable victory to move into the semi-finals of the King Of The Indies Championship Tournament! It's down to the Final Four- and let's take a look at the brackets:

Daytondave is now EpicDave and what a tale that was to get there. That was amazing and I loved Bundy and crew hanging out in the hospital room plus OMG going after the nurse. That was some epic comedy there. Overall a great show and the KOTI tournament has really had some big upsets. Jonathan Gresham over Bryan Danielson was a shocker. Of the four left in the running I am going with Sami Callihan to take it all.

As for the rest of the show I really enjoyed the Colt Cabana vs. Eddie Kingston angle, 3.0 winning their tag league bout with the Bravado Brothers and Shayna Baszler & Nicole Savoy continuing to show their dominance.
