Ok, so I have all of the GWFZ sets and have been going back and forth on how to set-up/run my GWFZ fed for a while now. I run my GWF fed old-school style and want my Z fed to be something different for me so it doesnt feel like just an extension of my GWF fed. I want it to be compatible as I plan on having cross-overs via a "talent exchange program" too.
I've been toying with the idea of running it like an old-school ECW fed (no DQs) with a few house rules (IE - champions choice if he wants DQs in title matches), and calling it POW (I really like the Outlaw Wrestling part of that name)... Ive tried something similar to this before with COTG and just found that it got too stale and took away from "special matches", but maybe it could be different this time... "No DQ" doesnt mean everyone has to cheat/use weapons, etc...
Thoughts?
Ideas?
Suggestions?
All would be appreciated!!!
Thanks!
- Carl

I like it. While there are some pretty intense story-lines in the Z (especially once we get to InvaZion 2124) most of the fed revolves around guys trying to be the best of the best in the Z and make it to the GWF one day. Running it like you have planned gives it more of that NXT feel it was spawned on.
One thing that has really worked well for me is a roster split like the WWE does with RAW and SD. It's helped me really concentrate on the feuds and run a lot of matches using everyone. Plus that seperates the lay out from my GWF fed too.

I like the different approach you're taking. I too like to mix and have like Inter-promotional battles. I think if you can mix a little of everything together, you can really have fun. And if you think things are getting stale, mixing and changing things up a bit always helps break that staleness.

Your concept looks good, for me I did start off with a true GWFZ but stopped and took a break and when I cameback my Zone of Victory concept was born. I'm using a mix style roster but some of the feuds in the booklets I'm going with too, overall my ZoV is a very different style from a traditional fed and I would look over the many Z feds that are posted here to get a good vibe on whats being done...

Thanks for the feedback guys!
I think that is how I will run it. Ive been having ideas bounce around my head all day here at work as I walk on patrol.
I think the ECW-style will fit well with the POW name and i can have a lot of guys doing things to "get noticed" by the GWF and such (especially during talent exchanges and fed vs fed events). I will run it as a smaller indy kinda fed the way ECW used to be. I think a brand split might help too, once I expand the roster to full size. Just like my GWF fed, Ill be doing my own thing but keeping written feuds in place to get things going.

I look forward to reading your GWFZ.
I'm going to run GOH, Galaxy of Honor (Ring of Honor).
It will be cool to read an ECW-like GWFZ.

I have patterned my GWFZ after my favorite Indy fed Chikara. I have a bunch of the same rules, titles and special events. So it has a completely different feel to it than the GWF, which is more of a straight up WWE style (although with more themed events which the real WWE is finally getting around to).

I remember seeing you plug LOTF at the Chikarmy Forum. I smiled.
