I take it that the Ultramega Title will now be vacated due to DELIRIOUS leaving Ultramega.

Following the shocking conclusion to UltraMega Wrestling's first season, executives today released the following statement :
"While we are disappointed in Delirious' decision to sign an exclusive contract with Chikara, we are in fact even more disappointed in Chikara's decision to even offer such contracts in the world of independent wrestling. One of the stronger selling points of independent wrestling is a wrestler's ability to work for multiple companies, which in turns means that that wrestler's fans now have more access to see him perform in multiple promotions. What we find ironic in Chikara's decision is that only Delirious was offered an "exclusive" contract, while other UltraMega stars, such as Mike Quackenbush, Jigsaw & Chuck Taylor, will be "allowed" to wrestle for both companies. We view this as a blatant, deliberate slap in the face on Chikara's part to sign our champion away from us. Despite their best efforts, the UltraMega championship belt is safe & secure in our hands & will not be accompanying Delirious to Chikara. Once again, we would like to state our extreme disappointment with Chikara's decision & deep regret that our "relationship" with a fellow promotion has begun THIS way."
When asked what is to become of the UltraMega championship, the company offered no reply.
They did, however, address the departure of one Brian Kendrick following the controversial decision at "Windy City War", which initially saw the Briscoes disqualified, only to have UltraMega executives seated ringside order the match restarted, which in turn led to the Briscoes reclaiming the gold.
"We at UltraMega felt the referee was a little quick to disqualify either team in a championship match, and therefore, ordered the match restarted as we did not want our fans disappointed. Nobody wants to see a disqualification or count-out or time limit draw in a championship match, so unless there is a blatant disregard for the rules, or a wrestler gets physical with a referee, we will try at all costs to avoid these types of outcomes in championship matches. As for Mr. Kendrick's reaction at the conclusion of the match, we gracefully decline to comment." When asked if Kendrick would be wished the standard "good luck in future endeavours", the executive replied with : "We gracefully decline to comment."
UltraMega executives also announced that Jerry Lynn & Super Crazy would not be returning for Season 2.
"We would like to thank both wrestlers for their contributions to a successful first season. Their leadership & veteran presence in the locker-room was invaluable and will not be forgotten. We wish both men the best of luck in all their future endeavours."
It was also announced, though no reason why was given, that the North Star Express would not be returning for Season 2.

Former UltraMega tag team champion Icarus, like Delirious before him, is the latest UltraMega star to sign an "exclusive" contract with Chikara, and will no longer be appearing at UltraMega events.
The "bad blood" that neither company will fully admit exists, continues to boil, as UltraMega executive staff members released the following statement in response to Chikara's announcement:
"Once again we are left saddened & peplexed by Chikara's decision to sign away yet another UltraMega star & furthermore, prevent them from appearing in our promotion while under contract to Chikara. What we had hoped could perhaps be a peaceful, maybe even successful coexistence, is rapidly devolving into a contest of who can hurt the other guy more by signing away his talent. It's unfortunate, but as we've all heard so many times before, this is a business, and from here on out, will be treated as such. If Chikara feels they can raid our roster & then prevent the talent from appearing at our shows, well, turnabout is fair play & UltraMega can type up some "exclusive" contracts of it's own, as well as "invite" those wrestlers NOT exclusively signed with Chikara to appear at our events."
When asked how the current situation between the 2 promotions will affect those wrestlers who have agreed to appear for both companies, the executive said:
"I'm sure it may be awkward, and that's unfortunate, as we plan on "sharing" some very talented wrestlers. Hopefully, it does not turn into a situation where the talent is forced to decide to play for one team and not the other. Not only will the wrestlers suffer, but that would be a tremendous loss for the wrestling fans out there as well."
As the UltraMega roster suffers yet another loss, many continue to speculate as to exactly who will be appearing along side current stars Bryan Danielson, Austin Aries and Roderick Strong during Season 2, which is rapidly approaching...

We have learned that the contracts signed by Delirious & Icarus do NOT bind them into appearing exclusively at Chikara events, they just prohibit them from appearing at UltraMega events! We have yet to be able to contact anyone affiliated with the Chikara promotion to provide further details, and they have yet to release any information either.
In addition to both Delirious & Icarus, reports have surfaced that the former UltraMega stars listed below have also signed "exclusive" contracts with Chikara that prohibit them from appearing at UltraMega events:
Eddie Kingston Fire Ant Green Ant Soldier Ant Ultramantis Black
Stay tuned as this situation continues to "escalate"...

UltraMega executives have just released the following statement:
Following the departures of BOTH Delirious & Icarus to the rival Chikara promotion, we felt we were left with no choice but to take a stand if we wanted to both co-exist & survive in the competitive world of independent wrestling, and while we are still not in favor of making wrestlers sign "exclusive" contracts, we do have to look out for our own best interests and Chikara has made itself a threat to the well-being & survival of our company. Therefore, we have decided to sign the following wrestlers not to exclusive contracts with UltraMega, but to contracts that prohibit them from appearing at a Chikara event without the approval of UltraMega:
Eddie Edwards Davey Richards Roderick Strong Chris Hero The Briscoes MsChif The Young Bucks Paul London Arik Cannon Austin Aries Jimmy Jacobs Akuma Scotty Vortekz
We would like to announce the newest additions to the UltraMega roster, who are also prohibited from appearing in Chikara:
Drake Younger The Osirian Portal
In addition, we have also worked out agreements for the following wrestlers to appear in BOTH promotions:
Brodie Lee Johnny Gargano Hallowicked
As previously announced, the following wrestlers have already agreed to appear in BOTH promotions:
Mike Quackenbush Jigsaw Claudio Castagnoli Sara Del Rey Daizee Haze Chuck Taylor

Bryan Danielson, the only wrestler to appear at every UltraMega event, as well as the winningest wrestler in the promotion's history, has abruptly decided to leave the company in the midst of it's ongoing battle with rival promotion Chikara, leaving perhaps the biggest void yet on the UltraMega roster. Danielson, who compiled 25 victories over the span of season one's 40 events, was also the winner of the inaugural King Of New York tournament. Amazingly, he leaves UltraMega without ever holding a championship, despite several matches against former champion Delirious at the conclusion of season one, including what would turn out to be his final match with the company, a steel cage match loss to Delirious at the season finale, "Windy City War". The departure of Danielson may be the biggest shock of all to UltraMega, who have already seen former champions Tyler Black & Nigel McGuinness leave the company for greener pastures, and more recently have lost their current champion, the aforementioned Delirious, as well as former tag team champion Icarus to the rival Chikara promotion during the off-season. UltraMega executives have yet to announce what their plans are for the vacated championship, as they've recently been quite busy trying to secure talent for their upcoming second season. They did however issue the following statement regarding Danielson's departure:"We are deeply saddened by Bryan Danielson's decision to leave UltraMega. He was an inspiration to the entire company, both in the ring & in the locker room. Bryan's appearing at every UltraMega event during season one is a testament to his desire to compete & his will to win, and is a feat that may never be duplicated. While he leaves UltraMega without ever having won a championship, he leaves an indelible impression on the promotion and his contributions will never be forgotten. If there's ever an UltraMega Hall Of fame, Bryan Danielson will be the charter member. We wish him the best of luck in all of his future endeavours." The departure of the American Dragon is yet another obstacle UltraMega will be forced to overcome if it is to survive. Right about now, the odds are not looking very favorable...

UltraMega Wrestling has finally addressed it's championship situation, and while the decision was a fairly obvious one, the parameters in which it's next champion will be crowned do have a unique feel to them...
"Following Delirious' signing of a contract with Chikara that prohibits him from appearing at UltraMega events, as many have speculated, we are left with no choice but to strip him of the title and declare the UltraMega championship vacant. An 8-man tournament will be held to determine a new champion, and the champion will be crowned at ***UltraMega Mania II***, our fourth event of season two. Prior to that, the 8 men in the tournament will accumulate points during cards 1-3 that will determine the "seeding" for the fourth card. Points will be awarded as follows:
Flawless victory (winner of match never covered) - +3 points Win by pinfall OR submission - +2 points Win by count-out, disqualification OR time-limit draw - +1 point
Wrestlers will also lose points, as follows: Lose by pinfall OR submission - -2 points Lose by count-out, disqualification OR time-limit draw - -1 point
Any matches that may result in a double disqualification will result in ZERO points being gained OR deducted from a wrestler's overall total.
UltraMega Wrestling is pleased to announce the participants in the championship tournament:
Austin Aries Roderick Strong Eddie Edwards Davey Richards Chris Hero Claudio Castagnoli Drake Younger Brodie Lee
