Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. For those who are big time mma fans then I'm excited that you'll have a fed or league or whatever the hell they call it. Actually the game system is pretty much more geared to mma than wrestling due to repetition of moves strikes etc. I'm not into it and that's how it is for me. POW means nothing to me. My fed is has and always will be the CPC. I wasn't big on the OFC or those matches. Used sparingly.
I am mostly turned off by the it's up to you, promoter that's being thrown around very liberally all of a sudden. I paid the price of the editions almost more for the stories that were being told in the handbooks. Those can bring me enjoyment to this day for all of the three real Feds (GWFZ doesn't count to me - no offense but to me these are just better made bootlegs and I've always been against bootlegs 100%).
The CPC will always hold a soft spot for me as the 2115 through 2118 kept the dice going full blast when the focus in the other official fed got a little too comic book for me. Behind on aCe probably for a similar reason.
Same situation as the lucky charms version of the GWF 2125 in that eventually I'll probably buy this just because I can and maybe the final product will convert me. However, if everything keeps getting left up to me I may as well just make sets full of bootlegs and stop buying what's official.
My opinions I've shared about the goings on recently have been pretty negative and I know I'm not making any friends with the cheerleaders but as much as I like something I never drink the koolaid. This game is great and there's a damn good reason it's headed into year 25. Unfortunately it's looking like it's headed there without this passenger.

This game is great and there's a damn good reason it's headed into year 25. Unfortunately it's looking like it's headed there without this passenger. Have your read the POW 2124 handbook? I enjoyed it more I think than the GWF 2125 handbook. There is a lot of story there. While the fed may be going to MMA theres still way than enough there to build a wrestling fed off of. As far as complaints about MMA moves repeating (the wrestling moves repeat when playing so hows that any different?)...Didn't they say they will still offer wrestling but just in PDF form? So why couldn't your CPC live on? If you don't like things becoming comic booky then wouldn't you like a more straight forward type of fighting and fed? To me besides the Thayne story that's what the POW is and thats how I thought the CPC was more straight forward wrestling. I think you might like the Z as well despite the feelings of them being better bootlegs. I've found it to be a nice deviation from the GWF and the other feds. I like it because I get the story of the characters, any possible feuds, then run my fed. To me it comes off as more of a straight wrestling fed than anything else. I do see what you're saying about making your own boots though. I've been kicking around that idea but haven't had time to do that for the aCe since it is in essence dead. On another note whoever convinced me I was wrong about the Thracians, I bop you on your head! Great job on the handbook! Can't wait to get the cards!

If you don't like the product, so be it. Don't be surprised when people don't side with you, especially when you are being condescending. People loving and supporting a labor of love like Filsinger Games does not make them mindless sheep "drinking the koolaid".

I support the POW. Perhaps Jack Hood needs to revitalize my POC and remind people of the many storylines still available in a mixed martial arts environment.

I'd quote everything I'm responding to but I'm lazy.
Mr. Beefy's post - not everything I'm saying in my previous post is negative. I think the game system is even more geared to mma than wrestling. That to me is a positive thing for a mma fed in the cotg universe. I've also always enjoyed Mark's style and content in the handbooks which is why CPC 2115 to 2118 were so awesome to me when other Feds were getting a little crazy storywise. Again at the end of the day I'll likely buy 2125 and that will have the final say.
Knapik's post - I'm not looking for supporters just acknowledging that my opinions are a minority viewpoint. Cheerleaders and koolaid weren't meant to be condescending so if it reads that way then my bad. The fact there are so many people who will buy editions no matter the changes is a testament to the game. It's a plus to me in that if or when I change my mind on things I know this game will still be around. You better believe that if I heard cotg was in trouble I'd buy two of everything to keep it alive but I doubt that'll be a problem any time soon.

Now I do like the aCe for that reason though! However, I've always looked at it differently than a traditional wrestling/fighting fed (they were in a war after all ). Got my cards today and I must say nice work and I can't wait till I get caught up to use them!
