Family Feuds?

I recently booked an angle that involved a father (Exo-King) wrestling against his son (Jack of Diamonds). The angle came about through their failure to compete successfully as a tag team in an extended round robin event. The team had initial highs but stalled out in the end.

I played the signs up with post match arguments and tension during interviews. I used a formula with the father being an aging veteran who was trying to 'toughen up' his idealistic son whose commitment to following the rules and avoiding shortcuts hindered what could have been a money run. I referenced the blow off match below.

My question to the group is:

Have you ever booked inter-family conflict? If so give an example of how one such conflict was introduced and eventually resolved.

Exo-King vs Jack of Diamonds

Before the match starts Exo-King has the mic...Exo-King: "Jack my boy...I know you're reluctant to face me...but son...I demand that you give me the respect of your best effort...you want to stay scientific...show your old man what you got..."

JOD enters the ring and says numerous times 'I don't want to fight you dad!' Exo-King slaps him in the face and starts going to work...In the first fall EK levels the youngster with a series of Death Vises. He then throws his kid out of the ring and knocks him unconscious with a perfect flying cross body block...JOD fails to answer the bell and is counted out! 1-0. In the second fall Jack seems to be in no condition to continue...but Exo-King continues the beating with His Majesty's Mauler for a near fall...Exo-King gets cocky and tries to deja-vu his out of the ring suicide dive...but this time he misses! Back inside JOD hits an immediate DIAMOND CUT...1,2,3! Tied at 1. JOD asks his dad to shake his hand so they can just walk out together and call it a draw...but Exo-King kicks him in the balls. In the rubber fall EK punishes the lad with power slams, King Death Vise and a series of reverse back breakers. The Sovereign Suplex scores a near fall. A cocky Exo-King goes for a double ax handle but misses...JOD hits a roll up and hook of the tights...1,2,3!

Jack of Diamond defeats Exo-King

After the match Exo-King accuses his son of illegally hooking his tights. Jack of Diamonds reluctantly cops to it...and Exo-King winks at him and nods approvingly!

I did have a family feud that I ran between the Valentines.

Greg became increasingly annoyed at Johnny's constant bickering in his ear. Johnny arranged a big match between Johnny and Killer Kowalski with Greg as guest referee...Greg called it right down the middle further infuriating the situation. In a tag match, Greg refused to help a beleaguered Johnny...and actually laughed as Johnny had to give up to Bockwinkel's Figure Four. The two finally met in a blow off match loser leaves town match. Greg miraculously won the match. A couple of weeks later, a mysterious masked Mr. V shows up. Greg and Kowalski were battling over the U.S. Title. Mr. V got included in a three way match and won the title. As of yet, Mr. V, has not removed his mask. Is it Johnny Valentine?

New Blood vs. Old Blood (Family Edition)

I had a similar feud back in one of my non-posted feds. I had, at one time, most of the fathers and sons together as tag teams. However, I started the huge Blood vs. Blood feud when Ted DiBiase turned on Mike DiBiase. Orton, Jr. was the second to turn on his father and join DiBiase. Once Brad Armstrong turned on his father, Bob Armstrong, it was apparent what was taking place. Fathers were coming together to face their sons. Then Greg Valentine eventually joins the New Blood, but the biggest turn was when Curt Hennig turned on his father, Larry Hennig. It was now a full fledge feud that took forever to build up... and I still have the full feud to run with. It worked perfectly.

Although it wasn't a full blown on camera family feud, I did have a smaller family feud that still boils in my Great Lakes Federation. Curt Hennig and Larry Hennig started out in Great Lakes as the Hennigs tag team and they are still there to this day. However there was a brief stint in Year 1 where Larry took a mysterious "vacation" while Curt Hennig was in the title hunt. Rumor has it they were upset about something. However they came back together but they are on uneasy terms (I don't roll for defensive tags nor do they get pin saves) Bobby Heenan has secretly been trying to get Curt Hennig to go solo or get a new tag partner but he has stuck with his dad. This is getting ready to come to a head at a PPV and who knows what way I will take it but either way is good cause the family card can be played

Depends on how you look at it, I had a family feud between Divided We Fall (Bloodline and Encubus). I call them "family" as in my mind and I hope it is revealed later, but it may not be, that Bloodline is also Thantos' son and really not Star Warrior's.
They tagged since they were put together. The feuded before this any how in Tom's story I believe. It came to them losing a lot more than they should, one would blame the other, etc.
When they were in Martial Law with Sly Drury, things came to blows as Sly favored Encubus more and kinda casted away Bloodline. They'd fight like brothers and throw fists, then they broke up.
From there it was Bloodline attacking Thantos and breaking his neck. Later on it was Encubus breaking Omega's leg. They fought several matches. The culmination was a Stretcher match recently at my PPV where Encubus may have broken Bloodline's neck (DDT from the ramp to the floor!) and we may never see him again. That is my family feud.

In LLUSA, I had the Young Bucks feud briefly against one another. Nick was annoyed that the two kept losing their Tag Title matches, and turned on Matt. They had a 2/3 falls match on one of my PPVs, but other than that, it's pretty much become like the Martel/Santana feud where the only time it matters is when it needs to (ie when they face each other on TV).

Since I was a little kid (I'm 26 now, I have always booked my wrestling persona (Scott Fire) as being Bret Hart's cousin in various games.. This was mainly due to me being a huge Bret Hart. Filsinger Games is no exception

I started off with Bret and I getting along great, but then on one evening I turned on him. The reason being, similar to Owen, I was tired of him getting all the praise from the family.

The first contest between us took place at, fittingly enough, the Stu Hart Memorial Cup tournament. The Hitman took the duke at that event. I then tied the score with a Submission Match victory.

This lead to a blowoff match, where Bret's career was on the line VS. a LWF contract. I took the duke here to. However, after the contest, we made admends, and the Hitman got his contract.

I've also ran family feuds Mike Dibiase VS. Ted Dibiase & Bob Orton Sr. VS Bob Orton Jr. .

The Dibiase feud was based on "Iron" Mike trying to remind his son where he came from, and the Orton feud was based Orton Sr. trying to get his cheating son back on the right path. In both feuds, the sons dominated and ran their fathers out of my LWF.

I ran a Bob Orton Jr. vs. Bob Orton Sr. Bob Jr. was in a heel stable called The Four Henchemen. Bob Sr. told Jr. if he was a man he would stand on his own. Sr. kept on calling out Jr. week after week. Bob Sr. got jumped by the Henchmen. Orton Jr. stood there watching the mayhem go on. Jr. finally put the boots to his dad. Orton Sr. teamed up with Mike Dibiase to face off against various Henchmen tag teams. Finally at a PPV Orton Sr. got his singles match against Jr. and picked up the win. Bob Sr. said he had finished his business with his son and taught him the lesson he was trying to teach him. The feud was a very vicious blood feud. It was a great feud and storyline for me to run.
