So...I am beginning to get ready to buy the earlier game editions. My question though....
Should I get just 2087 first, or get the Invasion Intro set, which I am assuming has the 2087 guys included. If it does include all the 2087 cards, are they the original stats as in 2087, or are there progressive stats bridging 2087 to 2088?
I see that 2087 is 15 bucks, while the Invasion package is 35 bucks. But, the Invasion Package, which includes all the wrestlers that are active during 2088 - 2090 (which will include 2087, I am assuming) is only 45 bucks.
Those of you who have these sets....can you tell me which one(s) I need to purchase?
Thanks

Those of you who have these sets....can you tell me which one(s) I need to purchase? Thanks I'd suggest buying the sets chronologically. The way the system is structured, you own and have access to digital versions of each wrestler (and their later progressions) concurrent with your purchases of their 'official' cards. Using Thantos as an example, if you own GWF 2087 and later buy the Invasion Package, you would have full access to versions of Thantos ranging throughout all of those game years (ie. 2087-2090). In reality, only the Thantos 2087 card was purchased (with the GWF 2087 Set). The other versions of his card before his official downgrade in 2096 were related privileges that were unlocked by owning the other game year rosters. Think of it in terms of owning a cardstock set, if you have Thantos 2087 and then buy 2088, the right to use his card transfers through both purchases. With the exception of Intro Pack Deals (which have Bonus Cards), if you purchased the Invasion Package sans GWF 2087, you would have no access to Thantos in any form because the right to buy and use his digital card was only being offered with the GWF 2087 Set. Note that when Thantos is officially downgraded in 2096, a player would have to own GWF 2096 in order to use that specific version of his card and gain the rights to that versions future progressions...with that being an issue wholly independent of having previously purchased GWF 2087.

I understand what you are saying, but by my reading, that is not what the product info shows. Here is what the Invasion Intro Package description is:
"Includes everything you need to start playing COTGonline in the Invasion years. THIS PACKAGE IS FOR FIRST TIME BUYERS.
SPECIAL OFFER - You are receiving BONUS PLAYING CARDS with this first-time buyer package! You’ll receive ALL the wrestlers that are currently active in these game years and you’ll have everything you need to play!"
If I am reading that correctly, that Invasion Package (found in the New Buyers section of the online store) has ALL the active wrestlers that are in use between the years 2088 and 2090 (which would include Thantos, with the assumption being the same Thantos card from 2087 UNLESS he had a progressive update from '87 into '88).
I believe I am reading it correctly, though, because in that same section of the store, it has later Intro Packages, which goes up in price. What you are talking about, I believe, is not the Intro Packages. The 2088-2090 Invasion Package costs 35 bucks and only includes the cards introduced during 2088, 2089, and 2090(I believe this is what you were referring to), but the Intro Package for 2088 - 2090 costs 45 bucks and includes EVERY active card during those years, not just the cards introduced during those years.
My question is....were there any progressive updates to any of the original 24 from 2087 going into 2088. Unless I am indeed reading those package deals wrong, then I just need to go back to school, I guess.

I went ahead and just purchased the 2087 set, then purchased the Invasion Package sets.
To answer my question....yes, a few of the wrestlers DO have progressive updates going from 2087 into 2088. So, the extra 5 bucks, to me, was worth it.

Yep, that's the one I was referencing.
Off the top of my head, the only wrestler that was progressed from 2087-8 was Pulsar (with a few others coming later in the Invasion Era).
