Just a backstory. He was released as part of the Superstar Wrestling Game (the wrestling game before COTG came out). No one knew who he was. Some say he was a winner's creation from a contest, others say he was the creators dog!?!?! Now here he is, a part of the Legends universe, a place he once squared off with the Legends of the old Superstar Wrestling Federation. Picture isn't great since it's from my iPhone. I'm also going to colorize it as well

I used to play that game a lot.
The only thing I didn't like about it was that there were only countouts and they didn't add DQ's until the manager cards came out.
But, Dr. Red Fang was awesome. I always teamed him with Kevin Sullivan as a part of his demonic clan with the Purple Haze. I always pictured him as a masked wrestler for some reason.

Looking back, there wasn't a lot of flow, having to re-roll on that OC/DC chart each time. But in it's time, very fun A masked guy is interesting as well. I like that. I may have to try it out as well

I never got into COTG, I just didn't like the Sci-Fi element of it. Guess I need all my guys to hail from Earth.
I have about a dozen COTG special edition guys and when I use them I just make them fit.
I was incredibly psyched when LOW was released because I agree that the game mechanics for both games have a great flow to them. Plus with the fan community and so many house rules and charts you can do practically everything that happens in real pro wrestling.

I ordered The Superstar Pro Wrestling game NWA set off ebay and I'm just waiting for it to come in the mail .I have a few questions about this game . !. Are there wrestlers names on the cards?... and if not is it easy to figure out who they are? 2.Do any of the cards besides Dr Red Fang have art ? 3. Is game play easy to learn? 4. Are there more sets out there from the 80's -90's? 4. Does anyone on this thread have any of the other sets that they would like to sell?...If so please pm me

None of the cards have art. game play is simple to learn. It's not a bad game but has some flaws. As far as I know there were no sets made in the 90's. Some of the sets had real names, a few didn't, and a few of the later ones had names like Nikita Cooloff. There's a yahoo group games.groups.yahoo.com/group/prowrestlingsuperstargame/with links to a free PC version, user created cards including current wrestlers, original game charts, cards, and a bunch of other stuff. Hope this helps

Actually, the NWA set you ordered did have small photos on the cards. It was the last set in the series, I believed it was released in 1988.
The group and PC game version that Todd mentioned are a great resource. Enjoy!
PS:
Back to the original topic, I had Hannibal King draw a Dr. Red Fang character for our nGo sets. I never released the character, but maybe LWPD can post it after we get the other sets put out there.

Be careful on E-bay because there's something called the original superstar pro wrestling game. It's not the same game or nearly as good

It's not official yet but I have a prototype for a Dr. Red Fang character to be part of GWFZ TERRITORIES. I've got what I believe to be a pretty cool twist to add to the character.
