I'm back... and I'm not alone!

Hey all. it's Jim Steinhoff (aka, Mr. Jimmyface), and I am back on the boards.

The reason I have been away has been because of dealing with a lot of heavy stuff in my life. I won't bore you with details, but suffice to say, I want to thanks to all my friends for giving me some "me time", and for being understanding on why I was only at Galacticon for a brief stay. You guys are awesome, and I am glad to have friends like you in my life.

But enough of the chitter chatter. You might be wondering why I am posting again...

This past weekend, I went back to WNY to spend some time with my family. My nephew John just has his 12th birthday, and when I asked him what he wanted, he told me that some of this friends at school were talking about this "cool wrestling card game", and wondered if I had ever heard about it...

(those of you who know my evil laugh, the most melodious one not made by anyone named DiBiasi, can insert that sound here)

Well, this weekend, I presented him with the full color sets of the GWF, and both he, his sister Jamie, and his best friend Josh have fallen in love with the GWF. It was such a great experience to see them get all excited over the game and the characters involved. The favorites so far are Endgame, Hector, Phantasy, Rotunda, Sly Drury, and Symbiosis (and they can wait to see Monolith!). They even had their first Infinity Challenge draft. Of note:

* First two wrestlers taken were Nitro and Symbiosis
* Last two wrestlers taken were Scimitar and Plethador
* The tag teams on Blue Team: Zygon & Thraxx, American Guy & U.S. Male
* The tag teams on Red Team: Tanck & Gryt, Bloodline & Nitro.

Again, both the fun weekend and some time off to work through life have made my life sweet again. I will be back at Galacticon, and will be bringing the young fans (or as I call them, The Super J Crew) with me this summer, as they were excited about being able to play the game with other players.

that's very cool Jim...it's a neat thing what you did. Nothing like spreading the madness to the next generation I hope to do that with my daugther when she gets to that age (she's almost 3), but I have a little while yet.

Thats awesome Jim. Always glad to see you when you can make it to G-con and glad to hear you'll have a new posse next year.

I'm not holding my breath on my 3 year old daughter being interested in COTG, but we are having a son in February...so I will be slowly brainwashing him over the next decade.

Thanks guys - I'm glad I showed them the game as well, because in seeing them get lit up over it, I got lit up all over again. I talked to my sister, and the boys are on board for the convention next year. My niece likes the game as well, and I think we can get her on board too. Plus, I bought the kids Luchador masks for Halloween - the wrestling bug has hit in a big way!
