I am especially looking forward to of course the main event of the PWG World Tag Team Champions (the Danger Bees- Paul London and El Generico) vs the ROH World Tag Team Champions the Kings of Wrestling (PWG World Champion Claudio Castagnoli and Chris Hero). So only Chris Hero will not be wearing PWG gold in this main event.

Also looking forward to the PWG debuts of both the RockNES Monsters as a tag team and Willie Mack! Good to see the return of PWG regulars Roderick Strong and the Young Bucks after they both missed last month's show The Curse of Guerrilla Island.

At the following PWG show which takes place at WrestleReunion 5 in January, I think Claudio will be putting the title on the line against either former champion Davey Richards who had to abdicate or against Joey Ryan who won that automatic title shot by winning the 2010 Battle of Los Angeles back in September.

Is there much in the way of storylines that go on in PWG? I know there are the titles, but is there any history in setting up the undercard at all?

IMO, PWG is more about the actual action that goes on inside the ring instead of being a storyline driven fed.

But nevertheless there are indeed some storylines involved in setting up the undercard. For example, throughout the first half of 2010, Chris Hero was in undercard matches while constantly in pursuit of and demanding a rematch for the PWG World Championship that he lost to Bryan Danielson back in 2009.

Also, the formation of the Danger Bees was somewhat of a storyline as they fought each other at Titanica in April as each sought to raise money for their orphans (El Generico wanted to raise money for his orphans in Mexico and Paul London wanted to raise money for his orphans in Outer Space.) After their match, they formed a friendship and then the next show they competed as a tag team at DDT4 where they won the tournament and thus the PWG World Tag Team Championship too. So there was a storyline in how they formed as a tag team instead of just being randomly paired for the tournament and becoming the new tag team champions.

Other recent storylines for the undercard would include the recent feud between the Young Bucks and the Cutlers and last year's feud between El Generico and the Men of Low Moral Fiber (Kenny Omega and Chuck Taylor.)

Also, sometimes the storylines/explanations for some of the matchups are provided by Silverback on the PWG message board. For this next show, for example, it was explained that Joey Ryan decided not to use his title shot because he wants to keep Claudio on edge about when Ryan (who was the last person to pin Claudio in the center of a PWG ring which happened in the Semi-Finals of the 2010 Battle of Los Angeles) will cash in his title shot.

So instead, Silverback said that Ryan will take on Brandon Gatson to see if Gatson (another Semi-Finalist from the 2010 Battle of Los Angeles) should remain in the title picture too and that Ryan's decision not to challenge Claudio allows Claudio to team up with Hero to challenge the Danger Bees because Claudio would like to earn an actual title shot against them to join El Generico as the only wrestler to simultaneously hold both the PWG World Championship and the PWG World Tag Team Championship.

The match between Kevin Steen and Akira Tozawa was explained as part of Tozawa's current efforts to earn a title shot as he has to defeat a past PWG World Champion first in Steen.

But at the same time, there are also some matches on the undercard without a storyline reason for them such as the upcoming match between Roderick Strong and Chuck Taylor.

I am also really surprised that the Fightin' Taylor Boys are not wrestling the RockNES monsters on this show since they interfered last time against both Johnny Goodtime and Johnny Yuma in their individual matches. It sort of seemed like a good reason for Goodtime and Yuma to team up for the first time in PWG as the RockNES Monsters and take on the Fightin' Taylor Boys for the next show. But instead, the RockNES monsters are indeed forming up, but they are taking on the Cutlers while the Fightin' Taylor Boys are taking on the Young Bucks. Perhaps something at this show though will happen to advance what looked like an emerging storyline between the RockNES Monsters and the Taylors?

So overall I would say that PWG probably has less storylines than some other Indy feds. But there are still definitely some storylines in PWG.
