With a first round like that, I can't wait for round 2!

I know in another thread you were a little concerned about the upsets, but that's part of the deal. I'm sure someone must have "interfered" in the Flair match, perhaps someone wanting Flair out of the title picture.
That's the kind of stuff you need to dance around so that the dice don't drive you mad.
Keep it going, you never know what will happen next!

This has been one unpredictable ride so far. I thought Dirge was going to beat John Studd, but Studd would just not go down. The last round I picked 3 of the 4 winners wrong. The only one that made it to the final 4 was The Destroyer. I thought Dick Hutton would make it, even though Rocca seems better. Stunned that Bob Orton Sr. beat DLJ. I thought DLJ was going to be my first Heavyweight champion after the way this all shook out, but I guess I should have known better by now.

PPV: ARMAGEDDON
FINAL FOUR MATCH: AWA HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE Antonio Rocca defeats Pepper Gomez with the ARGENTINIAN BACKBREAKER. A pretty good match that saw Rocca finally put Pepper away.
FINAL FOUR MATCH: AWA HEAVWEIGHT TITLE Bob Orton Sr. defeats The Destroyer by pinfall with the PILEDRIVER. A back and forth match that saw Orton pull off the win, setting up a Rocca/Orton Sr. finale.
Big John Studd defeats Harker Dirge by submission with the BEAR HUG. The rematch from the Heavyweight Title Tournament saw Studd dominate this match.
The Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Ole/Arn Anderson) defeat The Vachons (Butcher and Mad Dog) by DQ when Mad Dog rams Arn into the steel steps. A pretty decent match that saw a lot of action. Neither team could get their finishers applied, and Mad Dog was DQ'd when a big brawl broke out outside the ring.
Ed "The Strangler" Lewis defeats "Dirty" Dick Hutton by submission with the STRANGLER HEADLOCK. Hutton was very close to pulling the upset, applying the ABDOMINAL STRETCH, but Lewis escaped. Had to apply his finisher 4 times to finally put Hutton away for good.
The Dream Team defeats The Valiants by submission when The Hammer applies the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK to Jimmy Valiant. A match that went back and forth for awhile, but The Valiants continue their losing ways.
AWA TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH-TOURNAMENT FINALS The Fabulous Kangaroos defeat The Killer Bees by DQ when B. Brian Blair rams Costello into the ring post. A pretty good match that ended badly. Red Berry came out and grabbed the title belts off of the table and holds them in the air. Commissioner Cox comes out afterwards, and announces that their will be a future rematch. And it will be a STEEL CAGE ELIMINATION MATCH that will decide the new AWA Tag Team Champions!
AWA TV TITLE MATCH Mil Mascaras defeats Jim Londos with the CROSSBODY BLOCK to become the first AWA TV Champion! A pretty good match overall, pitting 2 great competitors. The title will be defended on All-Star Wrestling TV show, airiing Wednesday nights on FX. All matches will have a 10 minute time limit.
Ric Flair defeats Dupae Rupa by submission with the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. Total domination by Flair in this one. Where was this performance in the heavywieight tournament???
GRUDGE MATCH------DOG COLLAR MATCH Bruiser Brody defeats Abdullach The Butcher by pinfall with the FLYING KNEE DROP. The Butcher dominates a lot of the match, strangling Brody with the chain on several occasions. Brody ends up getting control of the match, and finishes off Abdullah. Both men were bleeding after the match. The hatred between these 2 men runs deep, and this is far from over.
AWA NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP-TOURNEY FINALS Steve "Dr. Death" Williams defeats DLJ by pinfall with 2 OKLAHOMA STAMPEDES to become the first AWA NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPION! A great match that went back and forth, either man could have won this one. Dr. Death shakes DLJ's hand after it, and says he looks forward to a rematch down the road. The Destroyer meets Dr. Death in the ring, and raises his hand while Williams holds the belt in the air.
AWA HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH-TOURNAMENT FINALS Antonio Rocca defeats Bob Orton Sr. by submission with the ARGENTINIAN BACKBREAKER to become the first AWA Heavyweight Champion! A really good match that saw Orton Sr. put up a great fight in this one. Bob Orton Jr. was sitting at ringside, rooting his father on, but it wasn't enough. Jimmy Hart ran into the ring afterwards and congratulated his man on a huge win.

Card 2: All Star Wrestling Wednesday Night on FX
Bill Apter: Welcome all to the AWA! This should be one fantastic card. Not one, not 2, but 3 Title matches! Steve Williams defends the AWA North American Championship vs DLJ! The masked man Mil Mascaras defends his TV championship vs Bob Orton Sr.! Orton came within an eyelash of winning the Heavweight title, does he have what it takes to win this belt? And in our main event, The Fabulous Kangaroos take on the Killer Bees in an Elimination style cage match to once and for all decide who the first AWA Tag Team Champions will be!
Baron Von Raschke vs Big John Studd A match dominated by the big man. The power advantage was too great, and Studd finishes him off with a BEAR HUG. Big John Studd wins by submission.
"Strangler" Ed Lewis vs Jim Londos A great match. Lewis and Londos start the match, countering several moves of each other, but Lewis gets control. Lewis applies the STRANGLERS HEADLOCK, but Londos won't give up. Londos gets control and locks in the AIRPLANE SPIN, but Lewis kicks out. Eventually, Londos hits 2 more AIRPLANE SPINS back to back, and finally won this back and forth match. (Londos and Lewis had 4 tokens each.) Jim Londos wins by pinfall.
Apter: Wow, what a match! I am sure these competitors haven't seen the last of each other. Let's go to the ring for.......
(interrupted by bagpipe music. Camera pans up and sees Rowdy Roddy Piper and Ace Orton standing in the Piper's Pit set.)
Piper: Not so fast Apter! Welcome to Piper's Pit! My guest at this time was the man that defeated Dupae Rupa at ARMAGEDDON, and is the uncrowned AWA Heavyweight Champion, its the Nature Boy Ric Flair!
Flair walks onto the set with the rest of the Horsemen.)
Flair: WOOOOOOO! Nice to see that Piper gives me the proper respect. Rocca, your days are numbered as the AWA Champion! The Nature Boy Ric Flair would destroy you in a match! You have no chance versus Space Mountain. (Flair points at a man in the front row.) Shut up fat boy, or your wife will be riding Space Mountain tonight, WOOOOO! Argentinian Dream Antonio Rocca. The only dream you are is the match you won for the AWA Title!
Arn: You tell em Natche. And this little cage match tonight is only a temporary solution, because the Minnesota Wrecking Crew are going to win the AWA Tag Team Titles! And there isn't a [censored] thing you can do about it either. Flying Redheads tonight, what a joke. Bastien and Billy, 2 men that don't deserve to be in the ring with the Horsemen..........
(The Flying Redheads come out to the set, and chase The Horsemen away. Wild Red Berry grabs the mic.)
Berry: Horsemen! The Redheads will destroy you tonight. And they will be the number one contenders to the AWA Tag Team Titles!
Piper: Well this show went well. And congratulations are in order for your dad Bob Orton Sr. on winning the TV championship tonight!
Ace: I am so proud of the old man. Tonight he will become the new TV champion, I guarantee it.......
(end of set.)
"Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs SD Jones Flair dominates this one, working over the legs of Jones, and eventually applying the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK for the win. Ric Flair wins by submission.
After the match, Flair continues to apply the FIGURE FOUR, but Antonio Rocca heads to the ring to make the save. Rocca and Jimmy Hart then grab the mic, and declare that if Flair wants a match for the title, he isn't hard to find.
The Dream Team vs Samoa Island Tribe A short match that saw the unpredicable Samoans run into the ring and start a brawl! The referee could not restore in this one, as all 4 men battled in the ring. DOUBLE DISQUALIFICATION
AWA NORTH AMERICAN TITLE MATCH Steve "Dr. Death" Williams (c) vs DLJ Wow, what a awesome match. This match was brutal, including Doctor Bombs on the concrete, to ramming heads into posts, hitting people with chairs, and pulling off several power moves. This match was a long, bloody match (DLJ 9 tokens, Dr. Death 6 tokens.) Anyone could have won this match. Dr. Death finally hits the OLKLAHOMA STAMPEDE and gets the win. Steve Williams wins by pinfall and retains the AWA North American Title.
Minnesota Wrecking Crew vs Flying Redheads Ole gets the quick win in this one, pinning Red Bastien with the DRIVING KNEE SMASH. Minnesota Wrecking Crew wins by pinfall.
AWA TV Title Match: Mil Mascaras (c) vs Bob Orton Sr. Mascaras dominates this one, and Orton couldnt get anything done. Cowboy Bob Orton interferes in this one, but Mascaras knocks him off the apron, delivers the FLYING BODY PRESS on Orton Sr. and picks up the win. As the ref raises his hand, Orton Jr. smashes Mascars in the back with his forearm cast. The 2 Orton's deliver a SPIKE PILEDRIVER on Mascaras and grab the belt. The Killer Bees run to ringside and make the save. Mil Mascaras wins by pinfall and is still the TV champion!
STEEL CAGE CHALLENGE: ELIMINATION STYLE The Fabulous Kangaroos vs The Killer Bees The match starts off with Blair dominating Costello. After a series of moves Costello finally gets to the corner and makes the tag. Heffernan comes in, and he is on fire, hitting Blair with several moves. The Kangaroos deliver the BOOMERANG on Blair and Heffernan goes for the pin. Costello runs over and smashes Brunzell, and Heffernan gains the first fall in the match. Roy Heffernan elimnates B. Brian Blair. Jimmy Brunzell comes into the ring, and is on fire, clobbering both men. The Kangaroos finally take the advantage and deliver a BOOMERANG on Brunzell. Brunzell kicks out! Brunzell manages to take control back, and looks like he is going to put Costello away. He charges at Costello for a flying body splash, but Costello moves out of the way and Brunzell goes face first into the cage! Brunzell goes down, and Costello pins him for the win. Al Costello eliminates Jim Brunzell and The Fabulous Kangaroos are the first AWA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!
Apter: Wow, what a show! That's all we have this week. See you next time on All Star Wrestling!
