I originally wanted to post this in the Mr.X thread, but since it has results I posted here....
Usually run tournament with all the wrestlers in the new set competing (LEs included). Here are the results from "Syracuse, NY".
First Round Kevin Sullivan b. Bill Dundee with a clubbing forearm Sheepherder Luke b. Mr. X, COR William Muldoon b. Sheepherder Butch with a body lift & throw. Eddie Gilbert b. Jerry Lynn, DQ Super Crazy b. Lou Thesz with a TRIPLE MOONSAULT! Mr. Fuji b. Val Venis with a small package off the ropes
NOTE: Mr. X looked awful in his debut as he spent more time on the arena floor then in the ring. Lou Thesz was upset with a maneuver he never saw before! Thesz mentioned that this will not be the last you hear of him as "he who laughs last, laughs best".
Quarterfinals Sheepherder Luke b. Kevin Sullivan, DQ William Muldoon b. Eddie Gilbert with a reverse crucifix Super Crazy b. Mr. Fuji, DQ after a salt throw (winner receives bye to finals)
Semifinals Sheepherder Luke b. William Muldoon, DQ for throwing Luke into the steel guardrails Super Crazy receives a bye
Special feature: Nora Greenwald b. Jazz, DQ
Finals Sheepherder Luke b. Super Crazy, COR. Crazy missed a moonsault and Luke promptly rammed Crazy's head into the corner post. Sheepherder Luke is tournament champion!
PROMOTER'S NOTE: Lady Luck rode with Luke all night! What a performance to pull out some big wins, especially Muldoon with his 2 DQ rating! Snake-eyes also did in the other favorite: as Lou Thesz fell to the Triple Moonsault. The dice were dangerous tonight and was hoping Mr. Fuji would pull off the win after the favorites fell down.

King of The Hill Rumble in Boston
6-lady “Queen of The Hill” Elimination Match – Every Woman for Herself: Featuring Champion Sherri Martel, April Hunter, Penny Banner, Jazz, Ida Mae Martinez and Naughty Nora.
Eliminations – Nora pinned Hunter with FLIP SEATED SENTON. Martel W, COR Nora Jazz pinned Ida Mae, DDT Banner W, DQ over Jazz Martel pinned Banner with TOP ROPE SPLASH to win “Queen of the Hill” and retain title.
Extreme Rules with special referee, Sandman – Rob Van Dam (with Fonzie) def. Jerry Lynn after a wild ringside brawl and landing FIVE STAR SPLASH. Unbelievably both Van Dam and Lynn shook hands after a hard-fought match. Sandman shook his head at the display of sportsmanship.
One-on-One: Lou Thesz (with Strangler Lewis) defeated Buddy Rogers (with Bobby Heenan). Rematch of a match where Thesz ran the gauntlet defeating Mr. X, Savage T and Super Crazy, but a weakened Thesz was pinned controversially by Rogers after Heenan distracted and aided the fall. Heenan was a factor again as he broke up a sure pin on a THESZ PRESS, but Lou recovered nicely and used a GRECO-ROMAN BACKDROP, STP and another backdrop to beat a groggy Rogers. The Nature Boy finally got back on his feet minutes after the decision (well after Thesz returned to the locker room) and exclaimed on the house mic “doubt he could do this twice”. Heenan and Rogers left amid hisses, heckles and catcalls.
Tag-Team Champions Ted Dibiase and Virgil “Soul Train” Jones (with Andre The Giant) W, DQ over Sabu & Sheik (with the Ultimate Wizard). The surprising champions had the Wizard’s men reeling but a Wizard-assisted ARAB FACEBUSTER on Virgil prompted a DQ from the referee.
Magnum TA W, DQ over Heavyweight Champion Bruiser Brody (with the Ultimate Wizard), Brody retains title. Magnum controlled much of the contest and landed a BELLY TO BELLY on a surprised Brody. The Wizard interfered in his second match, breaking up the pinfall and saving Brody’s title! Commissioner Bruno Sammartino did mention that unlike the Tag-Title defense, the challenger will receive a rematch due to the controversial decision.
MAIN EVENT -25-Man King of the Hill Rumble: Order of Entry – 1. Hillbilly Jim 2. Kevin Sullivan 3. Larry Zbyszko 4. Rick Rude 5. Angelo Mosca 6. Masked Superstar 7. Mr. Fuji 8. Hacksaw Duggan 9. Sheepherder Luke 10. Eddie Gilbert 11. Killer Kowalski 12. Steve Williams 13. Diamond Dallas Page 14. One Man Gang 15. Sheepherder Butch 16. Terry Gordy 17. Masked Superstar II 18. Magnificent Muraco 19. Curt Hennig 20. Missing Link 21. Giant Baba 22. King Kong Bundy 23. George Steele 24. Antonio Inoki 25. Andre the Giant
Notes: Masked Superstar led the match with five eliminations, but was tossed by Prime Time Champion Diamond Dallas Page…Page and Zbyszko each were second place with three eliminations, with Page upended by Magnificent Muraco. Muraco wants a shot at the Prime Time Title…King Kong Bundy lasted the shortest. He was led to the ring by Bobby Heenan and was constantly jawing with crowd. This continued once he entered the ring, but Giant Baba took the opportunity to toss him over...George Steele subsequently took Baba by surprise (with Bundy’s “help”) after that fracas…Antonio Inoki entered at 24 and kicked Steele over the rope, but had to go through #25- Andre the Giant for the win….Inoki tried tossing Andre to the turnbuckle, but the Giant would not budge. Andre then took his turn, threw him into a corner and a body slam with a turnbuckle squash later became King of The Hill!!
Winner: Andre The Giant. Andre was also involved in some post match hijinks as Bobby Heenan offered Andre a briefcase full of cash to sign with a manager who can bring him a Heavyweight title shot. Andre gestured he already earned one with this Rumble win. Heenan continued pleading his case and handing the money to the Giant! Andre opened the case and began tossing some of the cash to the crowd. Heenan panicked and grabbed the remaining cash with an Olympic-style dash to the exits. The crowd exploded!
Roll Call of Champions Intercontinental Champion: Bruiser Brody #1 Contender – Magnum TA #2 Contender – Andre The Giant (King of the Hill Rumble Champion)
Intercontinental Tag-Team Champions: Ted Dibiase & Virgil Jones
Prime Time Champion: Diamond Dallas Page
Ladies Champion: Sherri Martel

Two big stories of breaking news from the recent TV taping:
Magnificent Muraco captured the Prime Time Wrestling title from Diamond Dallas Page. Muraco's manager Mr. Fuji, played a role in the outcome as he jabbed DDP in the ribs while trying to enter the ring. Muraco took quick advantage and hit the HAWAIIAN HAMMER to win the belt.
Bill Apter closed the show with an interview with Magnum TA who the Commissioner granted a rematch with Intercontinental Champion Bruiser Brody. Magnum mentioned he had Brody beat during the title match at "King of The Hill" until Brody's manager the "Ultimate Wizard" interfered, breaking up the pin. Magnum is looking forward the return bout, but would love to get a match where that "snake" Wizard could not interrupt the match.
Brody and Wizard then appeared on queue, with Wizard verbally berating the challenger. Magnum had enough and was about to hit the manager until Brody slugged him with the title belt. Brody continued with some kicks and choked him with his chains. Officials broke up the encounter while the show went off the air.
Stay tuned for an update on Magnum's health and if it impacts their upcoming return match.

The second part of the recent TV taping in Providence, RI.
Two big matches on the bill, along with an update on the Magnum TA-Bruiser Brody IC title situation from Bill Apter. ]The capitol of the Ocean State has some special matches in store after hosting last week’s Prime-Time Wrestling Title Change.
The show opens with a special “Kings of the Hill” tag-team rumble with the winners securing the top contenders slot for the Intercontinental Tag-Team Championship. The match features 12 teams, starting with two teams in the ring with an additional team entering at two-minute intervals. Teams are eliminated when a member is tossed over the rope and to the floor.
Before revealing the first two teams, here are the other contestants in order of entry: Curt Hennig & Eddie Gilbert, Missing Link & George Steele, Hillbilly Jim and Hacksaw Duggan, Steve Williams and Terry Gordy, The Sheik & Sabu, The Masked Superstars, Mr. Fuji & Don Muraco, The Sheepherders, One Man Gang & Killer Kowalski and Playboy Buddy Rose & Pretty Boy Larry Sharpe.
The first two teams were the Kings of Wrestling versus Rob Van Dam and Jerry Lynn. Things got extreme right away and both Kings double-teamed Van Dam to toss him after Lynn fell through the ropes missing a shoulder block.
Other highlights included:
Masked Superstar and Hillbilly Jim going over in a heap together...
The Sheepherders eliminating Mr. Fuji from the match after a Battering Ram, with One Man Gang immediately tossing Butch afterwards....
This left House of Humperdink member One Man Gang with Killer Kowalski versus Sensational Sherri’s team of Rose and Sharpe. The two behemoths did not need much time to toss Sharpe from the ring and the match, winning the rumble!
Kowalski and One Man Gang celebrated and claimed it will take the same amount of effort to rest those belts from Dibiase and Virgil!
Bill Apter provided a remote interview with Commissioner Sammartino. Bruno mentioned that Magnum was not cleared to wrestle for the upcoming return IC title match against Bruiser Brody in Hamilton, Ontario. The Commissioner also stated that the title defense is postponed and will make a ruling on future IC title matches next week during the live event from Hamilton. Apter asked why the delay and Bruno mentioned that Federation officials were flooded with cards, letters and phone calls regarding this situation. His last words in the segment that he needs extra time to make a fair ruling on such an important matter.
The show returns with a remote interview with the Ultimate Wizard alone wondering “Why the “great” Bruno Sammartino would need such time. Can’t that spaghetti-bending blowhard make a decision without fans, friends and cohorts? The Wizard goes on record that he is in protest on whatever flimsy, fabrications omit from the Commissioner’s office next week.”
The show returned with Masked Superstar faced Eddie Gilbert in a Lumberjack Match. Gilbert is trying to avenge a past attack and injury from the Superstar which occurred in another federation.
The expected action with all the ringside traffic occurred, as both wrestlers had outside assistance. First, Masked Superstar #2 interfered leading to a pin attempt on Gilbert. Gilbert did rally and then things got out of hand. Superstar had Gilbert pinned, but with all the ringside confusion Jimmy Snuka reversed the pin attempt placing Gilbert on top! Things did not finish there however as Superstar kicked out and threw Gilbert to the floor.
The third time was the charm for mayhem as this time a full-scale brawl erupted, forcing a no-decision as the program left the air.
Stay tuned for the Commissioner's big announcement from Hamilton!

TextThe evening opened with Bruno Sammartino joining the ring announcer on the house mike with a special announcement:
“I would like to thank the fans for all the cards, letters and telephone calls into the office showing concern for Magnum TA and the calls for justice. As most fans know, on the latest television episode we announced that Magnum TA will not wrestle until he receives full medical clearance. The reason he is sidelined is because of the heinous attack from Intercontinental Champion Bruiser Brody and his manager The Ultimate Wizard. Due to the attack, I have suspended Brody until Magnum returns. Fortunately, we are told he may have doctor’s clearance in about a week.
I apologize for the delay on my decision as this attack occurred during a time when we are in negotiations with a block of promoters from the Western United States for a future tour. These negotiations prevented me from reviewing the events the past few weeks. My decision for Intercontinental Championship Match is a rematch between the two for Buffalo, NY and have recommended to our referees to watch the Wizard closely so he may not interfere in the outcome.
Additionally, we also have arranged three matches tonight to provide reasonable substitutes for the originally scheduled title match. The federation advertised two title matches tonight and we will have them: Don Muraco defends the Prime-Time Championship in a return match to former champion Diamond Dallas Page tonight. Mr. Fuji will also face Hacksaw Jim Duggan in a bonus match. We also flew in two special guests and two local teams to compete in a three-falls eight-man tag team. The Love Brothers team with Kiwi Sheepherders to face local favorites the Crusaders and special guests The Road Warriors!
There is also the scheduled Lumberjack Match between Masked Superstar and Eddie Gilbert with an Intercontinental Tag-Team Title defense by Champions Ted Dibiase & Virgil “Soul Train” Jones versus One Man Gang and Killer Kowalski. We hope you all enjoy the show and refunds are available if these substitutions do not satisfy anyone. Now onto our opening match…”
Koko B. Ware defeated Mr. X by count-out. Mr. X missed a tackle and could not reenter the ring before the 10 count. Koko wins his first match of his return to the area.
Hacksaw Duggan defeated Mr. Fuji with a bearhug after wearing down the tough Japanese warrior with tackles and a spear.
Diamond Dallas Page (with Hacksaw Duggan) defeated Prime-Time Champion Don Muraco (with Mr. Fuji) via count-out when Muraco chased Hacksaw Duggan for attacking Mr. Fuji after the devious one attempted to interfere.
Kevin Sullivan beat Angelo Mosca with a Double Foot Stomp. Mosca used his size to control the match, but the referee kept preventing Mosca from brawling outside the ring. Sullivan quickly took advantage of a distracted Big Ange and scored the upset! Sullivan spoke with Mosca after the decision was announced and their conversation seemed amicable. Hmm….
Intercontinental Tag-Team Champions Ted Dibiase and Virgil “Soul Train” Jones defeated One Man Gang (with Sir Oliver Humperdink) and Killer Kowalski. The champions continued their improbable run by beating these two brutal behemoths. The champions have added some serious notches to their holster during their reign. Defenses against the Kangaroos, Sabu & the Sheik, The Sheepherders and now these giants have really impressed fans and wrestlers alike. Anyway, the match ended when Kowalski missed a turnbuckle charge and Dibiase wrapped the Figure-Four on for the win! Humperdink berated Killer after the match saying he could not hurt a fly, never mind being a so-called Killer. The One Man Gang tossed Kowalski over the top rope before walking down the aisle in disgust. Wow, Kowalski was never treated like this before!
The first match after intermission surprisingly tore the house down as Hillbilly Jim used his easy, kind of charm to rally the crowd behind him against Bobby Heenan’s Masked Superstar II. Jim used a body slam outside the ring and finally inside to weaken Star II. The masked Giant rallied during a ringside scuffle and used a scoop slam to bring Big Jim into the ring. The comeback ended there as #2 launched an attack from the ropes, but Jim rolled through with a cradle for the pin. Awesome finish to a great action-packed match as it truly surprised the crowd and announcers!
The Road Warriors and The Crusaders defeated The Sheepherders and The Loves in two straight falls as Animal used a flying shoulder ram to pin Reginald Love in fall one and repeated the sequence later in the second fall over Sheepherder Luke! Afterwards an unusual hate triangle occurred: Luke battled Animal to the back, while Butch expressed his dissatisfaction on the lack of teamwork from the Loves. Referees, officials and The Crusaders diffused the immediate situation but did not stem any bad blood from the decision!
Buddy Rose (with Ladies Champion Sherri Martel) upset Curt Hennig. Buddy tried using a foreign object early and often until the match spilled out onto the floor. Unfortunately, for Curt this happened once he started to gain advantage over Rose. The Playboy opened his bag of tricks (or more accurately, Sherri’s purse) and slugged Curt while Hennig reached through the ropes to bring Rose into the ring. Buddy scurried under the ropes and gained a flash pin over the Perfect One. Fans doubt this is not the first time for this matchup.
A special Lumberjack Match featured Eddie Gilbert versus The Masked Superstar. Gilbert has chased Masked Superstar around the continent for a past injury suffered at the hands of the masked brute. An in-picture segment showed Gilbert claiming “He had this “fire” for revenge set by a past mentor to settle this old score”. Heenan and Superstar’s rebuttal in the same segment was “This Gilbert thinks he is hot stuff since appearing in the area, but he is the same old package.”
Both parties’ words were foreshadowing at his finest as Gilbert used a tactic that so far only the Sheik used in these parts: a FIREBALL!!!! Gilbert flamed the Superstar after a wild match where lumberjacks were involving themselves at a fever pitch (no pun intended). After the match, Gilbert said he finally proven he has the “fire” and that he is truly “Hot Stuff”.
The main event was a match of the year candidate as Andre The Giant and Superfly Snuka (with Lou Albano) defeated The Sheik and Sabu (with Ultimate Wizard). The curfew was waived to reach a finish as both Andre and Snuka have suffered injuries from The Sheik. Sabu was no innocent party as he stuck by his uncle’s side through all these attacks.
The match saw all men bloodied and have Sabu save Sheik from a BIG SPLASH pinfall and Sheik save his nephew from a devastating series of SUPERFLY LEAPS. The Wizard prevented yet another pinfall attempt on the Sheik (what else is new). Later in this nearly hour long match Don Leo Jonathan appeared at ringside distracting Andre from pinning Sheik after a Sit-down Splash. The referee reacted quickly as he ejected all ringside allies and ordered the match to continue. Sheik and Sabu hung tough though, seeing The Sheik kicking out of the BIG SPLASH and a series of slams. Snuka finally notched the win over a worn-out Sabu when Superfly flipped him into a power slam for the pin. Wild, bloody match that the fans gave a two-minute standing ovation!

Recent TV Taping Results:
Over-The-Top Rope Challenge: Killer Kowalski tossed One Man Gang after the Gang collided with his own manager Sir Oliver Humperdink.
Don Leo Jonathan beat George South via COR. Jonathan used a GIANT SWING to stun and followed the punishment by suplexing the unsuspecting South over the top rope. South could not get to his feet before the 10 count, nevermind climbing back to the ring! The announcers mentioned that the Giant Mormon is teaming with the Masked Superstars to face the Hillbillies and Andre The Giant in a huge six-man tag in Buffalo
Angelo Mosca walked to the ring wearing a warmup jackup of his Alma Mater: Notre Dame. He grabbed the mike and mentioned before his match he wants the wrestling world to pay special attention to this special hot seat with Bill Apter.
Bill Apter introduced his guest Kevin Sullivan. Apter asked Sullivan if he had an idea why Mosca was interested in this segment. Sullivan responded that he is now guiding the career of King Kong and the first step was to bring Mosca back to his football roots. Sullivan mentioned that this is where Mosca's primal instincts were honed and that the last few years in wrestlers he was stagnating trying to ponder to the common fan. From this point forward, Mosca will only have to please the wishes of the Varsity Club and its leader, "The Gamesmaster". The first example of what the Varsity Club can do will be on display tonight as Mosca tears apart that poor excuse for a tag-team champion Virgil.
Angelo Mosca (with Kevin Sullivan) defeated Tag-Team Title Co-Holder Virgil "Soul Train" Jones (with Ted Dibiase). Quick, action-packed bout which saw Virgil stun Mosca early, but miss a turnbuckle charge. Mosca used his bulk with a running clothesline to pin Virgil. Mosca and Sullivan attempted to put the boots to Virgil, but Ted Dibiase dragged his partner under the ropes to safety.
Sullivan, grabbed the house mike and challenged the champs to a match with the Varsity Club. Dibiase said he has no problem putting the belts on the line against "the club" as he would like to get his hands on Sullivan. Sullivan corrected Dibiase that the team you will face is Mosca and before he had a chance to finish, Dr. Death Steve Williams blindsided Virgil and Dibiase with a double clothesline to the back of the neck. Officials rushed the ring to prevent further brawling, but the Varsity Club secured the next tag-team title challenge in a most explosive fashion.
Featured bouts in Buffalo, NY: Return Match - IC Champion Bruiser Brody (with The Wizard) versus Magnum TA
Tag-Team Champions Ted Dibiase and Virgil versus The Varsity Club with Kevin Sullivan.
Six-Man Tag-Team - Andre The Giant, Hillbilly Jim and Cousin Luke versus Don Leo Jonathan and The Masked Superstars (with Bobby Heenan)
Superfly Snuka versus Sabu (with The Wizard)
One Man Gang (with Oliver Humperdink) versus Killer Kowalski
