Results from Buffalo, NY
The Sheepherders beat Playboy Buddy Rose 'n Pretty Boy Larry Sharpe (with Ladies Champion Sensational Sherri), after a sneaky double-team school boy. The Sheepherders celebrated after the match by licking Sherri much to her dismay.
The Sheik (with the Wizard) beat Mr. X, CAMEL CLUTCH after using a hammerlock with Xs arm wrapped on a ring post.
Intercontinental Tag Team Champions Ted Dibiase and Virgil TIME LIMIT DRAW against The Varsity Club (Mosca and Dr. Death with Kevin Sullivan) Superfly Snuka (with Lou Albano) beat Sabu, DQ. Wizard and Sabu double-teamed Superfly.
Magnum TA defeated Intercontinental Champion Bruiser Brody (with the Wizard) to win the title!!!!! Magnum TA hit a running forearm which looked like a three-count, but the Wizard rang the bell "ending the match". The referee did order a restart as the Wizard's ploy confused Brody too. Magnum used a BELLY-TO-BELLY SUPLEX for the pin after the Wizard was escorted back to locker room by league officials.
Hacksaw Duggan and Koko B Ware defeated Eddie Gilbert and Curt Hennig. Both teams had crowd support and Duggan warned Gilbert about any funny stuff like he used against Masked Superstar. Duggan pinned Gilbert with a FLYING SPEAR after a close-fought contest.
George Steele (with Lou Albano) defeated Mr. Fuji (with Don Muraco), DQ. Steele had things going his way until Fuji threw salt in the Animal's eyes stopping the match. A blinded Steele chased the referee, Muraco and Fuji before Albano calmed things. Killer Kowalski defeated One Man Gang (with Oliver Humperdink) following a Bombs Away Knee Drop.
Don Leo Jonathan and Masked Superstars (with Bobby Heenan) defeated Andre The Giant, Hillbilly Jim and Cousin Luke (with Lou Albano) in a wild six-man contest. The fans anticipated the first ever in-ring meeting between the Mormon Giant and The French Giant, but they had to wait as the rivalry between the Superstars and the Hillbillies dominated the action. Jonathan did make an appearance against Andre, but quickly tagged to play mind games. Evenly fought contest which saw the Mormon Giant take control against Cousin Luke with a MORMON SWING. Luke briefly came back, but Don Leo used his uncanny agility to launch a flying body press for the pin!

Recent TV Taping from Syracuse
The show started off with a special recap of the recent events from last weeks footage from Buffalo. A special Star Wars: Spring Showdown weekend is on the schedule featuring the first two rounds of a 16-man tournament to determine the Spring Star Wars Tournament champion. The weekend is spread over four locations: Detroit, Long Island, Denver and San Francisco. Each location will hold three tournament matches representing North (Detroit), East (Long Island), Denver (Midwest) and San Francisco (West). The winners of each bracket advance to the "final four" in Philadelphia which will feature a Steel Cage Showdown between Jimmy Snuka and Andre The Giant versus Sabu and The Sheik. Each team is placing special stakes on the line: Andre The Giant his IC Title Shot, a haircut for Snuka and Sheik and Sabu will leave the area if they lose!
Seedings and special matches to be announced next week. Now onto this week's action....
Masked Superstar defeated Cousin Luke, DQ. Hillbilly Jim interfered to help his Cousin fight off Masked Superstar II and Bobby Heenan. The problem was that the referee only saw Jim!
Prime Time Champion Don Muraco (with Mr. Fuji) defeated George Steele (with Lou Albano), HAWAIIAN HAMMER. Wild match with interference from Lou and Fuji. Fuji and Muraco continued the assault after the bell and used the Prime Time Belt to injure the Animal in a spike-like maneuver.
The Varsity Club (Steve Williams and Angelo Mosca led by Kevin Sullivan) beat Johnny Rodz and George South, DQ. Mosca and Williams looked like a well-oiled machine early with quick tags on Rodz. The Unpredictable One lived up to his nickname and lost his temper using a chair to chase ward off the attacks. South and Rodz did not see eye to eye with each other after the decision was rendered.
Bill Apter interviewed Killer Kowalski and was interrupted by One Man Gang. The Gang used his chain to blindside Kowalski and chase off Apter! The chain only grazed Kowalski as he was able to chase off Gang with a nearby steel chair!
See you next week with some great action and the seedings and bonus matches for the Spring Star Wars Showdown Tournament!

The full results of the opening rounds of the Spring Star Showdown Tournament. Spring Star Showdown consists of a weekend over four cities representing four brackets: North-Detroit, MI, East-Long Island, NY, Midwest-Denver, CO and West-San Francisco, CA. Winners of each bracket square off in the Final Four in Philadelphia!
North Bracket- Detroit
Opener: Don Muraco & Mr. Fuji def. Koko Ware and SD Jones when Fuji used the BONZAI DROP to pin SD.
North Semi #1: Larry Legend def. Rob Van Dam, DQ when Fonzie interfered in retaliation of Bobby Heenan’s interference.
North Semi #2: Hillbilly Jim def. Masked Superstar II, when Jim reversed a charge outside the ring and followed with a leg drop for the pinfall.
Buddy Rose surprised Johnny Rodz with 3-move combo of an elbow drop, half-crab and BOMBS AWAY.
Dog-Collar Match: One Man Gang def. Killer Kowalski, Killer was in control until Sir Oliver Humperdink broke up a pin. Gang used the diversion to land a 747 for the win.
North Final: Larry Legend def. Hillbilly Jim, DQ. A similar occurrence with Heenan’s interference prompting an explosive response from Hillbilly Jim and his manager, Lou Albano.
East Bracket- Long Island
Johnny Rodz and Mr. X upset the Sheepherders, as Rodz saved X a sure-fire pinfall and in the commotion an illegal double-team ended the match!
East Semi #1: Buddy Rose def. Eddie Gilbert with a BOMBS AWAY.
East Semi #2: PTW Champion Don Muraco def. Savage T, DQ. Savage-T took IC Champion Magnum TA to the limit recently and gave Muraco some uneasy moments. However an overzealous T grabbed Fuji’s salt and threw it Muraco’s eyes instead. Ref only saw T’s infraction and stopped the match in Muraco’s favor.
Mr. Fuji def. SD Jones after SD landed on his arm from a missed dropkick and Fuji hit a shoulder breaker for the pin.
East Final: Buddy Rose WDQ over Don Muraco. Fuji’s interference backfired as the referee caught the devious one tripping the Playboy while running the ropes. Sherri Martel and The Playboy celebrated at ringside as they advance to the Final Four in Philly!
Bonus Lumberjack Match: Sabu and Sheik beat Andre The Giant and Superfly Snuka. Muraco interfered by brawling with Snuka and Don Leo Jonathan attacked Andre. Andre cannot wait to get these two Middle-Eastern alone in the cage in Philadelphia.

Midwest Bracket –Denver
Kevin Sullivan defeated Johnny Rodz
Midwest Semi #1: Mormon Giant Don Leo Jonathan beat California Sensation Joe Schlabotnik with the Mormon Swing.
Midwest Semi #2: Killer Kowalski used only an overhead body slam to surprise Jim Duggan as Hacksaw was preoccupied with a ringsider waving a Russian flag. The whole scene was surreal and Duggan continued jawing then brawling with the man afterwards until arena officials broke things up.
In a bonus tag-team match, Hillbillies Jim and Luke upset the Masked Superstars.
IC Tag-Team Champions Ted Dibiase and Soul Train Virgil Jones beat the Varsity Club (Williams and Mosca) when Dibiase used a Figure-Four on Mosca. Sullivan’s presence was no match for the champions teamwork as Dibiase and Jones continue their surprising run as champions.
Midwest Final: Killer Kowalski def. Don Leo Jonathan with the CLAW to take the Midwest bracket in commanding fashion.
West Bracket- San Francisco
Grudge match: Angelo Mosca beat Virgil, DQ as Virgil used his tag-title belt on Mosca to ward off a double-team of Mosca and Sullivan.
West Semi #1: Curt Hennig WDQ over Terry Gordy. Gordy slugged the referee after the official warned the Bammer against roughhousing. Ironically, Gordy is assigned Special Referee’s duties in the IC title match!
West Semi #2: Steve Williams over One Man Gang as Dr. Death overcome the distraction of a ringside brawl between his advisor Kevin Sullivan and Gang’s manager Oliver Humperdink. Williams surprised the giant with a shoulder block off the turnbuckles.
Handicap Match: Andre The Giant over Mr. Z and Johnny Rodz with the SPLASH on X.
Terry Gordy Special Referee for IC Champion Magnum TA over Bruiser Brody, DQ as Brody and Gordy kept getting in each other’s way. This scenario predictably ended in a slugfest, with Magnum TA left standing alone in the ring watching the two brawl to the back!
West Final: Curt Hennig over Steve Williams, HENNIG PLEX. Officials banned all seconds (in this case: Eddie Gilbert and Kevin Sullivan) due to all the outside interference. Williams gained momentum with his power, but dropped his head a little early on a back drop and Hennig countered with his finisher!
------
North winner: Larry “Legend” Zbyszko
East winner: Buddy Rose
Midwest winner: Killer Kowalski
West winner: Curt Hennig
Next card in Philadelphia features Curt Hennig facing Larry Legend and Rose facing Kowalski in the other semifinal. The two winners will face later the same evening for the Spring Star Showdown trophy! Two cage matches are also on tap as IC Champion Magnum TA faces Bruiser Brody and Andre The Giant with Superfly Snuka go against Sabu and Sheik. Sabu and Sheik must leave the federation if they lose, while Snuka will get his haircut if he loses. Andre places his guaranteed title match from winning the King Of The Hill Rumble if he loses. The stakes are high for this event!
The Varsity Club challenges for the IC Titles again and two slobberknockers are also scheduled. One features Jim Duggan and One Man Gang while Hillbilly Jim squares off against the Mormon Giant. Meanwhile Bill Apter will provide an update on that Russian fan in Denver as there is apparently more to this confusing issue. Stay tuned!

Philadelphia - Featuring Spring Showdown Tournament Final Four, Double Steel Cage Main Events and other big matches....
Sheepherders over Rodz and Mr. X in two straight falls, avenging their loss a few weeks earlier.
Semifinal 1: Curt Hennig WDQ Larry Legend where Heenan’s interference marred a fantastic mat battle!
Semifinal 2: Killer Kowalski over Buddy Rose with a Bombs Away Knee Drop. Kowalski added another tournament opponent to his list of victims!
IC Tag-Team Champions Ted Dibiase and Soul Train Virgil Jones beat the Varsity Club (Williams and Mosca) when Dibiase used a spinning neckbreaker to stun a bent-over Mosca for the pin! The champs continue to impress.
SD Jones WDQ over Mr. Fuji due to Fuji throwing salt in Jones’ eyes.
Don Leo Jonathan over Hillbilly Jim with the MORMON SWING.
Jim Duggan WDQ over One Man Gang in an awesome, hard-hitting, back and forth encounter. Apter asked Jim Duggan if he had any information on that Russian Fan who attacked him in Denver. Duggan told Bill Apter wants a rematch with Gang first and worry about that later. Apter revealed that he cannot further disclose what happened due to legal issues, but is working on lifting that gag order soon…
Tournament Final: Killer Kowalski over Curt Hennig, DQ. Another DQ as Hennig retaliated to Killer’s rough tactics with some of his own. The only difference is Hennig crossed the line and ignored the referee’s count against the ropes! Kowalski wins tournament and earns #1 contender slot.
Double Cage Main Event: IC Champion Magnum TA used three BELLY-TO-BELLY SUPLEXES to stun Bruiser Brody and walk out the cage! Both men had chances to escape, but Magnum took advantage of a worn down Bruiser first.
Ultimate Escape rules Andre The Giant with Superfly Snuka over Sabu and Sheik. The hard-fought battle between these four men ended without drama as Andre used repeated SPLASHES to destroy Sabu and Sheik. The evening did not end there for Andre as Don Leo Jonathan attacked Andre viciously leaving Andre a bloody mess on the arena floor!
NOTES: The Tag-Team Champions are on one of the hottest streaks ever and it has taken the entire wrestling world by surprise! Is there a team that can dethrone the winningest team in the world today?
Killer Kowalski forced his way into the IC title picture in impressive fashion, what will happen when he faces champion Magnum TA? Magnum has shown he can handle big wild wrestlers winning the title from Brody and defeating Bruiser in subsequent rematches....
Interesting development with Curt Hennig asking to be the official when Magnum defends against Kowalski, things should get interesting with those three in the ring! This title match is signed for the New Jersey Meadowlands, with two other match hard-hitting bouts: One Man Gang versus Jim Duggan with Falls Count Anywhere Rules and Bruiser Brody faces Terry Gordy!
Other bouts to be announced soon along with upcoming updates on the Andre The Giant-Don Leo Jonathan situation and the latest on that Russian Fan. As of this writing this "fan" is working on a settlement with the federation officials concerning his altercation with Jim Duggan in Denver. Stay tuned!

Main Event – Title versus Title, Winner Take All! Intercontinental Champion Magnum TA versus Prime Time Champion Magnificent Muraco (with Mr. Fuji) with the winner crowned first United Wrestling Federation Champion.
GIANT Grudge Match Andre The Giant versus “Mormon Giant” Don Leo Jonathan. Andre tries to get revenge on Don Leo for breaking his ribs after Andre and Superfly Snuka won a loser-leave-Prime Time match against Sabu and The Sheik. The Ultimate Wizard is in Jonathan’s corner.
Tag-Team Title Match Intercontinental Champions Ted Dibiase and Soul Train Jones face against #1 Contenders The Masked Superstars to become the first United Wrestling Federation Champions. Bobby Heenan’s team of masked mayhem won a tag-team battle royal earning this golden opportunity. Can The Heenan Family cash in?
Special Siberian Survival Match for “Eurasian” Tag-Team Trophy UWF officials went on record that they plan to recognize only two titles after the Baltimore card: UWF Championship and the UWF Tag-Team Championship. However Ivan Koloff and his manager Nikita Brezhnikov offer to place the trophy on the line against special challengers The Road Warriors and Hacksaw Duggan. Ivan’s partners Nikolai Volkoff and Boris Zhukov round out this six-man tag-team elimination match. Duggan vows revenge against Brezhnikov as the wily manager disguised as a fan, attacked Duggan after a bout in Denver.
#1 Contenders Match, Best of Three Falls: Killer Kowalski versus Curt Hennig. Kowalski holds a controversial win over the perfect one. The first wrestler to win two decisions becomes the new #1 contender!
Three other matches feature hard-hitting action as Bruiser Brody continues his solo campaign when he locks horns with The One Man Gang, Superfly Snuka battles Terry Gordy and in a power struggle; Steve Williams from Kevin Sullivan’s Varsity Club takes on Hillbilly Jim. Hillbilly Jim (with Cousin Luke) defeated Steve Williams, DQ from Kevin Sullivan’s Varsity Club. The Varsity Club gets involved as the match between these two powerhouses spilled to the floor. Mosca speared Jim outside the ring clear in the referee's sight.
Superfly Snuka defeated Terry Gordy with a SUPERFLY LEAP as Snuka rallied from a piledriver and getting tossed onto the floor by Gordy. Snuka fought his way back into the ring and used his finisher for the win.
Tag-Team Title Match #1 Contenders The Masked Superstars defeated Intercontinental Champions Ted Dibiase and Soul Train Jones to become the first United Wrestling Federation Champions. Bobby Heenan’s team of masked mayhem won a tag-team battle royal earning this golden opportunity and take home the unified tag-titles!
Masked Superstar #2 was disqualified for choking Dibiase against the ropes in Fall One, setting the stage for dominating Fall Two with a BACKBREAKER on Jones. Jones never rallied in the final set and fell victim from a clothesline from Star #2. Jones was thrown into the corner, but Masked Superstar flung him back to center ring and into the final clothesline for the win!
Another best of three falls encounter followed with Killer Kowalski versus Curt Hennig in a number one contenders match. Hennig started fast and landed the HENNIG PLEX for Fall One. Kowalski came back in Fall Two with some ringside brawling and evened things with a CLAW. The last fall featured Hennig with a dramatic comeback and looked like he was to capture the fall with a cross body block. Killer moved out of the way at the last split-second and locked in a Giant Swing to win the match.
Bruiser Brody destroyed the One Man Gang (with Oliver Humperdink). Brody fired out of the gate early, but Humperdink caused enough distraction to delay a loss for the Gang. Brody retaliated by whipping Gang into his manager and then landed the JUMPING KNEE DROP for the duke.
Special Siberian Survival Match for “Eurasian” Tag-Team Trophy UWF officials went on record that they plan to recognize only two titles after the Baltimore card: UWF Championship and the UWF Tag-Team Championship. However Ivan Koloff and his manager Nikita Brezhnikov placed their trophy on the line against special challengers The Road Warriors and Hacksaw Duggan. Ivan’s partners in this match were Nikolai Volkoff and Boris Zhukov. Volkoff eliminated Animal after a vicious triple-team outside the ring. Duggan stormed the ring and had the Russians on the move, but missed a corner charge lending himself to an easy rollup pin by Ivan. This left Hawk in a 3 on 1 situation. Hawk pummeled Ivan and looked on his way to a win until Ivan smacked Hawk with his chains out of desperation. Boris and Nikolai continued the beatdown on Hawk, but Hawk grabbed the chains left behind by Ivan and went on a rampage. He cleared the ring in short order of Russians, managers and referees alike. Officials declared the bout a No-Decision and Hawk punctuated the evening by smashing the trophy against the ring posts, much to the fans delight!
Title versus Title, Winner Take All! Intercontinental Champion Magnum TA downed Prime Time Champion Magnificent Muraco (with Mr. Fuji) to crown the first United Wrestling Federation Champion. Back and forth classic with Muraco gaining the edge late. However, TA proved his mettle and shook off interference from Fuji along with a vicious Muraco assault to hit the BELLY-TO-BELLY SUPLEX. Magnum celebrated in the ring with Superfly Snuka, Road Warriors, Hacksaw Duggan and Andre the Giant!
GIANT Grudge Match, the French Giant versus the Mormon Giant as Andre The Giant throws down against Don Leo Jonathan. Andre used payback to gain the early advantage on Don Leo and essentially never looked back as he used two head butts: one from the middle rope and a follow-up while holding Don Leo up. No surprise when the big Mormon was a victim of a pinfall. Andre left the ring to a standing ovation, while Don Leo clawed his way up the turnbuckles wanting more fight from Andre! Unbelievable final scene to the evening as the fireworks started in the ring and continued in the post-match sky!

World Wide Wrestling hits Pittsburgh, PA
Announcers Gorilla Monsoon and Bill Watts mention the Top Rank Contenders Series, where contestants in the tag-team and singles divisions vie for rankings on the contenders ladder. Each division has a special match tonight, plus the World Wide Wrestling Tag-Team Titles are defended in a rematch with the Masked Superstars against former champions Ted Dibiase and Virgil "Soul Train" Jones. Plus, Andre The Giant and Don Leo Jonathan try to settle their differences in a Steel Cage Main Event!
Superfly Snuka (with Lou Albano) pinned Curt Hennig in an action-packed opener.
Top Rank Contenders Series (Tag Team)The Varsity Club (Steve Williams and Angelo Mosca, managed by Kevin Sullivan) defeated The Hillbillies (Jim and Luke, managed by Lou Albano)
Top Rank Contenders Series (Singles)Don Muraco (with Mr Fuji) defeated Bruiser Brody, DQ. Muraco did not earn a clear win here as Fuji snuck a cane shot on Brody while the action tumbled outside the ring. Bruiser's temper flared and kicked Fuji to the floor, grabbing the cane to use on Fuji then Muraco! The referee only saw Brody with the cane and halted the match.
Bill Apter "Hotseat" Interview with Andre The Giant Andre mentioned that he plans on running off the Mormon Giant for injuring him earlier this year. Andre figures the Steel Cage is his way to do it.
Best of Three Falls Match for Tag-Team Titles: Masked Superstars (with Bobby Heenan) beat Dibiase and Jones 2-1. Superstars win the first fall with a giant slam on Jones. Soul Train rallies in fall two, ending with a Dibiase Sleeper on Superstar I. Things got messy in the third fall and Dibiase was DQd for using his glove on Heenan and Superstar II. The referee only knew part of the story as Heenan and Superstar I kept Dibiase in the opposite corner by underhanded tactics (trunk pulls, ankle trips, etc.)
The broadcast went off the air alerting the fans to possibly two rematches down the road: Muraco and Brody and the Tag-Team Titles and both matches tonight ended controversially.
Next week Magnum TA defends the World Wide Title against Killer Kowalski and Muraco and Brody get their rematch. Plus an update on the LOD-Russians feud.
Steel Cage Main Event: Andre The Giant demolished Don Leo Jonathan from bell to bell, starting with a series of bodyslams and finishing with a BIG SPLASH before walking over the Mormon Giant to exit through the cage door. A bloody, beaten Jonathan had to receive assistance from medical staff to get back to the locker room. Andre did most of the major damage busting open Jonathan with a vicious series of headbutts and a pair of SPLASHES.

That is the biggest news, but Rick Rude, The Sheepherders and Buddy Rose have also taken absences. Many are wondering if Terry Gordy will return to competition after his current tour of the Orient concludes. Rumor has it that since Bamm-Bamm had such a successful run he may consider an extended Japanese schedule.
