WORLD CHAMPION Buddy Rogers Rogers def. Antonino Rocca in a tournament in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to become first IWLF Champion
UNITED STATES CHAMPION Bobo Brazil def. The Sheik Brazil defeated The Sheik in Toronto and claimed the NWLA United States Championship. The NWLA did not recognize the change because it happened outside the US borders and was not officially sanctioned as a title match. When the IWLF split from the NWLA it recognized Brazil as its first US Champion.
TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS The Mongols (Geeto and Bepo) Mongols def. Crusher and Pepper Gomez in a tournament in New Orleans, LA to claim the titles.
Futures eXtreme Champion Bryan Danielson Bryan Danielson def. Jushin "Thunder" Liger in a tournament in Tokyo, Japan to win the title
Ladies Champion Penny Banner Penny Banner was awarded the title upon coming to the IWLF from the NWLA where she lost that version of the ladies championship to Sherri Martel in Los Angeles, CA. Replays showed Martel used the ropes for leverage in scoring the pin but the decision stood. Banner left the NWLA in protest.
