Card 93 from Cobo Hall.
Bobo Brazil, the most popular wrestler in Detroit, was not scheduled to wrestle on this card due to a nagging back injury, but he appeared in suit and tie as a ring announcer.
The Road Warriors won the World Tag-Team Belts from the Masked Superstars in a great comeback! Hawk got pummeled by the Superstars but Animal brought the Warriors back and he finished off MS I with the DOOMSDAY DEVICE! This is the 4th time Hawk and Animal have won the tag belts.
Gorgeous George won by DQ over the Sheik.
Frank Gotch won by DQ over Ivan Koloff when Sherrie Martel interfered. Ivan was ticked off and slapped her. This was supposed to be a Finisher Match.
RVD beat Sabu in a Falls Count Anywhere Match.
Rick Rude made a comeback to beat Val Venis with the RUDE AWAKENING. This match took place after the Ivan Koloff match and Sherrie Martel walked to ringside to watch. She drooled over the two men and seems to be shopping around for a new team affiliation.
The Sheepherders defeated the Love Brothers.
Johnny Valentine massacred Diamond Dallas Page and bloodied him with repeated ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHERS to make a statement in support of his team (Masked Superstars) dominating the Legion of Doom (Road Warriors). Hawk and Animal weren't intimidated.
Brutus Beefcake scored another exciting win with time running out, this time over Nikolai Volkoff.

TV taping prior to card 95: Val Venis was interviewed by Lord Layton and revealed that he's got a girlfriend of his own, and "not some tramp like Sherri Martel." He challenged Martel to fight her on the next card. Rude and Martel are not happy and Martel accepted the challenge! The next card will take place at Grand Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles. This is the debut card at this classic venue and there are several great treats for the fans! Lou Thesz will battle Dick Hutton in the main event. Thesz is temporarily wrestling in the LWF to replace an injured Andre the Giant. Dick Hutton defeated him years ago to win the NWA World Title. This rematch will make wrestling history! Also scheduled: Road Warriors vs Harley Race and Johnny Valentine (nontitle) in a Cage Match. Frank Gotch vs Ivan Koloff in a Chain Match. Jimmy Snuka vs Don Muraco (nontitle). Sherri Martel vs Surprise Wrestler. FANS IN LOS ANGELES ARE THRILLED TO SEE THAT THE LEGENDARY LWF IS COMING TO THEIR AREA! If you've never heard of Lord Layton (a former wrestler and announcer) here he is announcing a Sheik match from the 1960s. Great video! Sheik and Farouk cause a near riot at TV taping! www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9m9tnd9aRE

Card 95: Debut event at Grand Olympic Auditorium
NWA World Champion Lou Thesz defeated Cowboy Dick Hutton with the THESZ PRESS.
The Road Warriors easily won a Cage Match vs Harley Race and Johnny Valentine by destroying Race (JV never tagged in) and finishing with DOOMSDAY DEVICE.
Frank Gotch used his Iowa backdrop to beat Ivan Koloff in under a minute in a Chain Match. Koloff and Ted DiBiase were arguing with the referee about how to adjust the chains on Koloff's wrist and Gotch flew into action!
The Sheik and Sabu made a comeback to beat Gorgeous George and Brutus Beefcake when Sheik finished off Brutus with the CAMEL CLUTCH. The match turned around when Sheik used his foreign object to his advantage.
Masked Superstar II defeated Diamond Dallas Page and once again proclaimed himself the unbeatable giant of professional wrestling.
Jimmy Snuka won by DQ over Magnificent Muraco when Mr. Fuji interfered by throwing salt in his eyes.
Nora Greenwald won her debut match against Sherri Martel with the FLIPPING SEATED SENTON to enrage Rick Rude who was at ringside. Nora is the new valet for Val Venis.
In an unpopular decision Virgil won by DQ over Koko B. Ware when Koko's bird went into attack mode, flying around Virgil's head outside the ring, terrifying Virgil. Virgil ran away to the locker room to the laughter and delight of the fans.

TV taping:
Huge surprise. Lord Layton is joined in the studio by Andre the Giant who is dressed in a leisure suit. The fans erupt! Andre notes that Masked Superstar II has been calling himself the "unbeatable giant" of wrestling. He also says he has a score to settle with Ivan Koloff who broke his ankle. Koloff is the only man to defeat Andre. Lord Layton asked Andre how he's healing and Andre said he hopes to be back "very soon."
Some matches signed for card 96 at Akron Armory:
Road Warriors vs Sheepherders (tag title match)
Sheik vs Gorgeous George (rematch for US Belt)
Frank Gotch vs Ivan Koloff in a return Chain Match.
Rematch: Lou Thesz vs Cowboy Dick Hutton
Mixed Tag: Val Venis and Nora Greenwald vs Rick Rude and Sherri Martel.
THINGS ARE HEATING UP IN THE LWF LEADING TO CARD 100 WHICH WILL FEATURE THE VERY FIRST "SUPER BOWL" OF WRESTLING FROM CLEVELAND STADIUM!

Nice to see Molly/Nora in action. Loving the feud between Gotch and Koloff and the Virgil/Frankie thing was just too funny.

It was also announced in Forbes that the LWF has been bought out by Dark Menace Promotions and will be called the DMP from now on. This is essentially a behind the scenes move and there will be no loss in continuity. The new owners are very enthusiastic and are promising to maintain the outstanding ring action!
