LOW MARCH MADNESS
3/15 ROUND 1 MATCHESD-Lo Brown beat Konnan with the Shakey, Shakey Leg Drop. - Konnan comes out swinging, but keeps making mistakes allowing D-Lo to get the upper hand on offense. Toward the tail end of the match, Brown falls of the ring and seems to be running out of gas. Sensing an opportunity to advance into the tournament, Konnan goes for a suicide dive, but misses! D-Lo throws his downed opponent back into the ring and nails the Shakey, Shakey Leg Drop for the victory. Brown will now face Nick Bockwinkel on Thursday in his second round match up.
Bob Roop beat Al Snow with a spinning neckbreaker. - Interesting meshing of styles here with the Olympian squaring off against the multifaceted Al Snow. Al tries early to show he can go pound-for-pound on the mat with Roop, but the Olympian has a distinct advantage that Snow can not match. Eventually Snow works in his striking game and has Roop reeling. Snow, trying to seize the moment, takes his attack into the air hoping to put the final nail in Roop’s coffin. Bob, however, is not going to fall prey to an air assault and jumps out of the way allowing Snow to fall face first into the mat. Roop picks his opponent up and nails a spinning neckbreaker for the victory. The Olympian moves on to face The Destroyer in the second round.
The first round ends tomorrow with Danny Hodge taking on Brad Armstrong and Kip James doing battle with Ox Baker!

LOW MARCH MADNESS
3/16 ROUND 1 MATCHESBrad Armstrong beat Danny Hodge with the RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP. - Danny Hodge may have been the favorite, but he looked like a man with something to prove against the young Armstrong. Oklahoma’s favorite son used his strength to gain advantage over Brad, but the pesky young man from Marietta, Ga would not give in to the veteran. Hodge eventually became frustrated with his young opponent’s zeal and tried to take his assault outside of the ring. Measuring Brad up for a clothesline, Hodge made a dramatic charge only to come up empty and turn around to eat a dropkick. Armstrong rolled his downed opponent into the ring and nailed a RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP to advance. It is still an uphill battle for Brad, however, as he meets #1 overall seed Mil Mascaras in the second round.
Kip James beat Ox Baker with a powerslam. - We’ve seen some great scientific wrestling in these first round matches, however, there was none to be found here! Baker and James brawled all over the arena and no one could keep these two warriors apart for long. Eventually James nailed a power slam for the victory and will face Pepper Gomez in round two.
This brings the first round to a close and the tournament kicks into high gear tomorrow afternoon. Just look at the exciting second round match-ups for Thursday:

LOW MARCH MADNESS
3/17 ROUND 2 MATCHESThe Destroyer beat Bob Roop with the intelligent sleeper hold. - Coming off the strength of his first round victory over Al Snow, Roop came out swinging and worked an early advantage over Destroyer. Destroyer, however, used his ring prowess to advance into the third round.
Ivan Koloff beat “Exotic” Adrian Street with the RUSSIAN BEARHUG. - Koloff did not seem to have time to waste as he made quick work out of Adrian Street with the vicious RUSSIAN BEARHUG.
Antonino Rocca b Bryan Danielson with the flying dropkicks. - Danielson grabbed a microphone prior to the match and promised the fans that they were looking at the King of LOW. He attempted to get the KOL board members out to cancel the tournament and officially coronate him as a king, but instead Rocca charged the ring and sent Danielson packing early.
Jim Londos beat Bobby Eaton via pinfall. - Londos is considered a leading sleeper to win the whole tournament by some, but he had a lot of trouble with Bobby Eaton. However, Londos’s speed and athleticism were too great for “Beautiful” Bobby.
Red Bastien beat Killer Kowalski via disqualification after Kowalski removed the turnbuckle padding and rammed Bastien’s head into the exposed rod. - Kowalski took an early advantage, but the pesky Bastien would not give in to the ferocious monster. After Bastien worked his way out of the CLAW two times, Kowalski shoved the referee out of the way and ripped the padding off of the turnbuckle. He then rammed Bastien’s head into the rod and was disqualified from the tournament. Bastien moves on to face The Destroyer in the third round, but was left bloody in the center of the ring here.
Nick Bockwinkel beat D-Lo Brown with the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK - Not a good day for our first round winners as Brown quickly falls to Bockwinkel. Nick had better not get too confident, however, as he faces a tough third round challenge in Ivan Koloff.
Bob Orton, Jr. beat Antonio Inoki with a middle rope splash. - WOW! Our first real shocker as Inoki could not gain an advantage over Orton. Bobby moves into the third round to the surprise of absolutely everyone!
Bruiser Brody beat Ray Stevens with the JUMPING KNEE DROP. - Madness is not a new concept to Brody and he showed off his own brand here, as he beat the living tar out of Ray Stevens. Brody is big, tough, and nasty. He’s hard not to consider a frontrunner to win the King of LOW tournament.
Jushin Lyger beat Frank Gotch with a cross body splash. - Lyger pulls the upset, but he is always difficult against light weights. Gotch, in fact, may have taken the challenge too lightly as Lyger seemed to gain an advantage over Gotch in every possible area.
George Hackenschmidt beat King Kong Bundy via pinfall - The Russian Strongman is another sleeper candidate and he made short of Bundy in this round match up!
Giant Baba beat Jimmy Valiant - Match of the day. Baba could not keep Valiant down and when Jimmy took control it looked like he might sneak into the third round over Baba.
Don Leo Jonathan b One Man Gang when Gang missed 747 SPLASH. - Great battle between two big men. Jonathan’s agility and power mix, however, were almost not enough to take out Gang. It was only when the big man missed his 747 SPLASH that Jonathan took home the victory.
Diamond Dallas Page beat Greg Valentine via DQ - Most of the wrestlers fought a very clean today, but Greg Valentine registered the tournament’s second DQ when he could not pin Page for the victory. After several pinfall attempts, Valentine went outside of the ring for a chair and laid into Page. The stress of the tournament looms large!
Ted Dibiase beat Ilio Dipaolo after a LOADED GLVOE punch. - Dipaolo put up a good fight, his big fists are difficult for a any man to handle, however Ted Dibiase’s assisted fist was too much for Ilio.
Curt Hennig beat Don Muraco with the HENNIG PLEX - Hennig mentioned earlier in the day that he was looking forward to shutting his critics up by winning over Muraco. Curt did just that and moves into the third round to face Giant Baba.
Hawk beat Yukon Eric with the FLYING CLOTHESLINE. - Hawk was without his tag team partner Animal, but he looked no less impressive than usual in his victory over the man from the Yukon!
The second round closes tomorrow with these exciting matches:
Harley Race vs. Larry Zbyszko Masked Superstar vs. Sabu Bobo Brazil vs. Gorgeous George Al Costello vs. John Pesek Steve Williams vs. Bob Orton, Sr. Rob Van Dam vs. Larry Hennig Dan Severn vs. The Sheik Mil Mascaras vs. Brad Armstrong Rikidozan vs. B.G. James Buddy Rogers vs. Dewey Robertson Johnny Valentine vs. Angelo Mosca The Crusher vs. Dick Hutton Rick Rude vs. Animal The Iron Sheik vs. Roy Heffernan Pepper Gomez vs. Kip James Jimmy Snuka vs. Tiger Mask
