Forget everything you know about ECW, Extreme Championship Wrestling. The only thing you need to remember is that it was small, had amazing talent from all over the world, and it had a cult following. However, what really made it stick out was that there were no rules. *I want to do my best to emulate that experience with Legends of Wrestling and Legends of the Future. I think it would work for the most part because ECW was more than just hardcore; there was lucha libre, puroresu, shoot, and even technical wrestling. I think it would be neat to put the likes of Ed Lewis and John Pesek in ECW. Anyway, here’s the story so far... On April 25, 1992, Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka defeated Sal Bellomo in Eastern Championship Wrestling for the NWA Eastern Championship Wrestling Heavyweight Title. It was then and there that Extreme Championship Wrestling was born under Paul E. Heyman’s wings. After the match, Snuka told wrestling fans that Eastern Championship Wrestling was no more and that Extreme Championship Wrestling had arrived. Snuka told the fans that the title around his waist was now the ECW World Heavyweight Title. Lastly, Snuka said that ECW was officially removing itself from the National Wrestling Alliance. * I do agree that at times ECW could be complete garbage. I plan to fix that.

ECW Newswire April 27, 1992 * Saturday, May 2, 1992, ECW will be at the ECW Arena in South Philly for its “Extreme” debut. Paul E. Heyman has already stated that “the current ECW World Heavyweight Champion, Jimmy ‘Superfly’ Snuka, will put his title on the line against an unnamed opponent.” * “Also, the ‘Extreme Tag Team Tournament’ will kick off on May 2,” Heyman told reports. “We expect to see some of our homegrown talent to participate, as well as tag team talent from all over the world. Actually, we have one team that has signed on, and all I can say is that it’s a miracle that they agreed to participate.”

It'll be fun and interesting to see what you'll have instore with your ECW Dustin, it's funny I thought about doing something similar with LOW, but scrapped that thought and I just introduced a ECW concept with my TNE! in the form of TNE's LiGHTSØUT! show / division...

“No Rules” Rule—One thing I forgot to mention is the “no rules” mechanic I'll be using. When a wrestler rolls his disqualification, if he is indeed disqualified via dice roll, the opponent will roll on level 1 defense. If the attacker is not disqualified, he will continue as the roll instructs. If both wrestlers are disqualified, the stronger wrestler (power rating) will take over on level 2 offense.

Definitely interested in this. I too thought about doing something like this, but went in other directions. I'm guessing this tag team coming in could be the Miracle Violence Connection? I can definitely see them as two faces of ECW, if it is indeed them.

Yeah, I figured that if, for example, Terry Gordy whipped Al Snow into the guardrail, or rammed him into the ring post, Snow may “Hulk up” and fight back, or simply “no sell” the attack. Heck, he may dodge the attack all together. However, in all actuality, he would still have a lot taken out of him, or have his momentum shot down. He could take back over or defend himself, but he won’t be level 3 healthy, you know?

If I could make a suggestion how about the "DQ winner" rolls on level one defense instead since he was the one being assaulted? That way the attacker has a chance to remain on the offensive. Just a thought but either way it's a great rule for an extreme rules type of fed. Looking forward to following this.

Also, one other thing I wanted to make known about this fed: I'm not going to pigeonhole myself with the ECW talent in LOW by trying to recreate said promotion. Just because our beloved game has Doring, Roadkill, Sandman, RVD, Candido, Lynn, and so many other ECW alumni doesn't mean I'm creating my roster around them. I'm sure I'll eventually get to them, but I'm not going to try and live out everything that happened in ECW. What if Pesek becomes my "Taz"? What if Ox Baker becomes my "Raven? I want to see what I can do with the ECW theme, not try and mimic it. So, sit back and enjoy.
